From 123/5, New Zealand managed to reach 225/5. England selectors did the usual mistake by dropping James Anderson (as far as I know, he was not injured). For the first two matches, Anderson was the best bowler for the Poms as he took a total of 11 wickets. I don't have anything against the younger bowlers. But they are being given a lot of chances and still I am not noticing any consistency in their performance. Yesterday it was the turn of Matthew Potts and Jamie Overton. Conceded 69 runs between them, and took just one wicket (that of Devon Conway).

You cannot compare BCCI to any other boards. Every board is doing something good for its players and it's staff but what BCCI is doing is beyond the expectations and reach of other boards. You cannot ignore BCCI when you are discussing about cricket as they are to an extent controlling the ICC. None of the other cricket board have that kind of power or money at the moment.
Right now as situation is going in ICC and BCCI no one is comparing anything with India because they are financially very strong with big market and having their best tools in their hand for cashing this out but is this good every time you are talking about these points Indian Cricket Board is rich and having enough money. Even they have this all but still in facilities and many other ways they are not using this all for improvement of game and other things, mostly it's going into corruption and their own use, so please stop this all now and just talk about game and better things for others as well.If we have very strong and balanced management at ICC then surely it's going to be good for all boards and cricket but sadly colonial mind set is never been good for this game.

Anyway the 1st day of warm up match didn't go well for regualar Indian batters, it's good overall as i believe it'll keep em grounded for final matchup.

Most of New Zealand's top order batsmen collapse on a regular basis. Although I thought Williamson's return would bolster the batting, but he also fall apart. With 120+ runs on the scoreboard, NZ has lost five wickets.I would say that New Zealand is in a decent position right now. I think the score that they were able to achieve at the end of the first day is not something that is overly amusing but it is certainly decent. They have 5 wickets in hand going into the second day and I believe it is going to be a good performance from them on the second day as well. We all know that they just have to survive the first session and they will be able to get a good amount of runs before they and their innings and invite England to bat.

I agree. The BCCI is light years ahead of PCB in terms of monetary power and influence. They were already rich, and then the IPL just changed everything. Now probably the BCCI is richer than all the other boards combined. The total ICC budget for the period for 2015-23 (8 years) was $1.642 billion. On the other hand, the 5-year media rights for IPL was sold for $6.2 billion. And for most of the countries, the funding from the ICC represents most of their revenues. The PCB receives a total of $128 million for the 8-year period from the ICC.
BCCI is not worried about this series. They are a board rich enough. And recently they got a huge amount of money from IPL. So even if BCCI does not gain financially in this series, it will not face any loss. However, it is very important for PCB. I would be happy if Pakistan vs India series will be held. Because we have not had the good fortune to watch such a series for a long time. While the Pakistan board is keen to play this series, I am not sure if BCCI will be interested in hosting this series.
Most of the time I read here peoples talk about rich BCCI, and they never have any problem with financial but no one talk about PCB is also going in better shape recently they are increasing salaries and also having some better things as well in Pakistan cricket. BCCI having very good and luxurious media contracts is good, but it does not mean others are having nothing they are also improving quality and other facilities which are working for them, and they are also having some good media rights for PSL which is now giving good profit to franchise and PCB.Even facing some issues which need some time to settle, but surely things could be in positive way for them and their game with recent Australian tour now England is also on way for tour after T-20 world cup surely it's going to be big change for them in domestic and International market.

@JSRAW you’re correct but what do you think under Stokes and their new coach leadership will England be able to change their performances in Ashes?, and I know that there’s yet time but the initial signs do look promising. Lastly politics aside India should play test matches with Pakistan, because I remember that it was so much fun watching Sehwag score 300+ runs against Pakistan, and both sides are very strong now hence it’ll be really memorable to watch them play against each other.
-Stokes as skipper and BAZ (McCullum) as coach are advocating attacking cricket with the bat, which they were lacking. It's double edge sword tho, cause sometime they are going to fail but it's a positive step.
- I also feel that in next cycle OZ 2 main batters David Warner and Steve Smith are going to decline. Former is already showing sign of declining in whites and latter still making useful runs but at the same time he's also showing chink in his armor every now and then, i hope i'm wrong.
-Aussie do have Mighty Marnus but according to stats he basically got this status because of opposition shitty fielders. Adding good study case Labuschagne - lucky, and making the most of it. So he's also vulnerable.

^^^^ I like Border-Gavaskar Trophy better when it is played in Australia. Nowadays India just dominates test matches that are played at home, irrespective of the opponent. When the series is played in the Southern hemisphere, it becomes more entertaining and competitive. I like Ashes, notwithstanding which country is hosting the series. The Trans-Tasman Trophy is another enjoyable test series, partly due to all the bad blood which exists between both the sides that take part in it. But the undisputed champion is India vs Pakistan test series, which in all probability will not take place for the next two decades.

as i've never heard anyone saying this about Trans-Tasman trophy. It's good for Kiwis bashing from OZ point of view but not exciting to watch, individual contests are exceptional tho. The way i see it NZ is Australia's SL (similar to Ind-SL cricket relationship) Ashes in Australia is one-sided affair tbh
