~snip~ Taking into account how the pitch is functioning, it's to be expected. It's very much possible SA's blowers will grab all rest of the wickets in the first season of the final day. But, Bangladeshi players can return tomorrow?
Bangladeshi players won't be able to return in the game. The target isn't so much. But they are showing pathetic batting performance. Only few overs were left for the day 4. The openers should have saved their wickets. I was expecting a draw at least. It won't be possible anymore. Perhaps, Bangladesh will be all out in the first season of tomorrow. They may longer the game to second season, but they won't be able to comeback in match.

Yes, that's right and BCCI-CSA also have understanding or i guess some sort of contract that they will not stop their players.

Now coming back to the link i've posted. There is a context behind this article and my "evil_ipl" statement.

Before the Bangladesh series, Protea's skipper Dean Elgar made a statement about "Loyalties of Players, who play in the IPL" and then few South African's journalists came up with different argument by pointing out sorry state of national contract.

I read the link you provided and the sad aspect is that if and English or Aussie players turn down IPL offer or join it late then he is not losing as much money as SA player will lose. SA have extraordinary record at home against Asian teams but now they that level has dropped to level that they are losing series to Bangladesh. Both players and CSA have no objection in releasing players for IPL then this is deemed to happen.

Also, I think the Bangladeshi bowlers let everyone down because they did not bowl in the right line and length consistently. they have bowled countless short balls which were really easy to hit and the  South Africans just scored easy boundaries.

In the batting Bangladesh also did not do very well because the only person I can see doing well in the first innings of Bangladesh is  Mahmudul Hasan Joy. He scored a great century and I really don't see anyone play a good inning except for him in that innings.

I don't think Bangladeshi will be are able to win this match but they sure do have a great chance of a draw. South Africa already leads by 130 runs and if they give a target anything above 270 I think it will be really difficult for Bangladesh to win.
In the second innings SA all out in 204 runs, BAN need 274 runs. In replay three crucial wickets were down in just six over before stumps the day of 4. Bangladesh hopes of victory as SA give a target of 274 runs. But, after getting quick wickets South Africa in control heading into the last day. Taking into account how the pitch is functioning, it's to be expected. It's very much possible SA's blowers will grab all rest of the wickets in the first season of the final day. But, Bangladeshi players can return tomorrow?

For overseas players, 20% of the salary directly goes to the national cricket board. So for SENA nations, IPL is a revenue generating source. And for boards such as West Indies and South Africa (which are in a very weak condition financially), this amount can be life changing. And it creates a lot of disparity as well. Pakistani players are not allowed, and so the PCB is losing out on the money. The same can be said about associate nations, and lower ranking test nations such as Bangladesh, Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Due to this 20% boards have no hesitation in releasing players for IPL despite international series going on in the country. You are right, the main reason why Pakistani players are not allowed in ipl is not to give any financial gain to PCB. They have there own league psl, but I m sure it's say behind in terms of financial gains that IPL provide.

I doubt whether there is any understanding between BCCI and the South African Cricket board like you think. The sole reason they are not stopping the players is because if they put pressure on the players on not to participate in the IPL, then they need to give them a much bigger salary which they are not able to or risk the player announcing the retirement from International Cricket, i guess the later is true.

If the boards restrict the players from participating in the IPL, then they will announce their retirement and focus solely on franchise cricket as they can make a much bigger earning than their national contract and the prime example is AB de Villiers.
This understanding comes from the excellent relation between both boards. According to my reading CSA revenue sources are BIG-3 nations, in recent time ECB pulled out from the series due to bio bubble breach. CA didn't even bother to visit. BCCI on the other hand didn't cancel the bilateral series, they even backed the CSA after new covid variant came into limelight. Another example is, in the past during IPL CSA always tried to avoid scheduling any bilateral series but due to covid it wasn't possible because every country's calendar got disturbed in the pandemic.

Your statement is also correct barring AB de Villiers's part. There was virtually no pressure on him from the CSA regarding IPL. He just took early retirement out of nowhere, may be he ran out of gas at the age of 34. Mostly proteas players/officials take early retirement/leave due to CSA's politics.

South Africa vs Bangladesh 1st Test,1st innings SA scored 367/10 and Bangladesh all out 298/10. Bangladeshi young batsman Joy got his 1st Maiden 100*. He is a brilliant a batsman in test cricket. Then 2nd Innings running SA 6/0, 3days Stump. If SA scored under 250 then i think Bangladesh will win this test match.
Bangladesh will not win if South Africa sets a target of around 250 runs. In the past, we have seen many times unprofessional performances of Bangladeshi players in the second innings. Moreover, it is very difficult for any experienced team to win the match by collecting 250 runs on the last day. So I see very little chance of Bangladesh winning this match. However, Bangladesh has a good chance to draw. Let's see how the bowlers of Bangladesh perform on the fourth day.
But now some player playing very well in test Cricket. Like Liton Das performance is very improving match by match.I think Bangladeshi batter have to power to chess 250 run in 2nd innings. But Bangladeshi players need to more improve and more patience in Test cricket.

When it was impossible for batters to even score a half century, but look at Opener Joy. The brilliant ton of Mahmudul Hasan Joy illuminates day three. The Bangladesh cricket team has matured at every level.

At the end of day three, South Africa leads by 75 runs. There's no dream restricting them to less than 250 runs. From how the spine ball is turning, it appears RSA will not be able to bat for a long time. Also the rain ended Day 3 at Durban early so there is a good chance of a draw!

IPL not only pays the player but also board for releasing the players for IPL. For the first time CA stopped its players from participating in IPL 2022 because of ongoing Pakistan tour. Small boards like South Africa are happy to sacrifice players for IPL for the financial gains. South Africa first time on its soil lost to Bangladesh since its players are in IPL.

This Evil_IPL was sarcasm.

Having said that as cricket fan i really beilieve that no player should abandon their national duties for any franchise cricket, even if its IPL. At the same time cricket board should think about contracted players too. They shouldn't offer peanuts to players and then complain about they are ignoring the national duties.

Just to give you 1 example.

Sir, as per my understanding its the board who releases his player for IPL and without board NOC you can't play IPL. IPL not only pays the player but also board a handsome money to release its player's. In the end its a win win situation for everyone in terms of financial gain at the expense of national cause. Same SA board refuses to spare its players for PSL earlier this year since not much money is being payed so national duty first.

"No PSL NOC for South Africa's contracted players
CSA wants players to prioritise immediate international and domestic commitments

South Africa- Bangladesh

Due to Mahmudul Hasan Joy's responsible batting, Bangladesh team is still batting very well in their first innings. Bangladesh lost 5 wickets and collected 167 runs. Joy scored 70 runs off 219 balls. Experienced Liton Das is still at the crease. He is collecting 35 runs from 73 balls. My guess is that this pair will not break before collecting 200 runs. Both are playing well enough.
You are right. Probably will not break this pair before 200 runs. They are batting very responsibly. Very experienced playing style. Liton Das has done well for Bangladesh in the last few Tests. If he can do the same in today's match then South Africa will not be able to win this match. Mehdi Hasan Miraj is a very experienced player to bat next. So it seems Bangladesh will not finish their innings before 300.
Day three started with a good session for Bangladesh. Mahmudul Hasan and Litton Das have been unbroken for 82 runs before the launch break. In the aftermath of a series of quick wickets, Bangladesh is now back in a good rhythm, and this is greatly needed for them. Muhammadul Hasan has a hundred loading, 20 runs more to go! Bangladesh won't give up hope until both players bat at the same time. Liton Das has a good chance of scoring a century too.

Bangladesh finished their innings with 298 runs. I'm not saying they played badly. Their performance was enough. After losing 5 wickets for 101 runs, Joy, Liton Das and Miraj's responsible batting helped Bangladesh to collect 298 runs.
The three days are already over, and South Africa has just started their innings. If South Africa bats all day tomorrow, the match is most likely to be a draw.

Liton Das didn't play as it was expected. But inexperienced openers, Mahmudul Hasan Joy played a great innings. He has scored 137 runs. Bangladesh has scored 298 runs in their first innings. They could have taken a lead if the experienced players Mominul and Mushfiqur contributed with their batting performance. Anyway, South Africa started with a lead of 69 runs. Day 3 has ended, maybe this match is heading towards a draw.

Already Bangladesh have lost 4 wickets. So, reaching 300 runs is a big thing. Even if there is no wicket fall during the morning session Bangladesh won't reach 300 runs. If it was in Bangladesh ground it could've happened. The game is being played in South African pitch where SA players have the advantage. Anyhow Bangladesh is improving with time, and lets wait and see.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy the Bangladeshi opener is still on crease, he is not out on 74 runs and Bangladesh is totally dependent on him. Bangladesh right now are 200 runs behind and they have 5 wickets left. If SA can take a lead of 100 in first innings, things will be very much in favour of SA.
