At the end of day 1, Bangladesh regained some control from South Africa after taking some valuable wickets. Khaled and Taijul contributed to keeping Bangladesh in it. Neither South Africa's batters nor the rest of the team are capable of making big scores. They must convert their 50 to 100 or 150 and have the others bat around them. Though, the total will reach 300-350 easily. BAN will have a hard time while batting as they did in the past when facing big totals.
Bangladesh did take some important wickets at the end of the first day but South Africa still have 5 wickets in hand. and Bangladesh really needs to get those five wickets quickly otherwise South Africa is surely going to put up a big total in the first innings.

If Bangladesh are unable to pick up quick wickets I think South Africa is going to score somewhere near 400.

The 115-over game is over, and there's a break for lunch now. South Africa lost 7 wickets and scored 384 runs. Their run rate is good enough. South Africa will probably declare their innings after collecting around 420/430. And Bangladesh is such a weak team in Test format. Bangladesh has no chance to win this match. I have my doubts about whether they will even be able to draw this match. Probably Bangladesh will suffer a humiliating defeat in this match as well as in the first test match.

Given Bangladesh's horrific batting performance in the first test, I don't have much hope for them in the Gqeberha test. In all probability, South Africa will manage a total of 350-400 in the first innings and it is going to be hard for Bangladesh to avoid the follow on. Right now, two new batsmen are at the crease (Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder). The South African lower order batsmen such as Keshav Maharaj are also in terrific form recently. It is going to be a tough task for the Bangladesh bowlers (especially the pacers).

I think if Bangladesh can utilize the first session on the second day they might have a chance to restrict South Africa to under 350. For that to happen they need to actually utilize the first session.
But to be honest, after the first test I really don't have much expectation from Bangladesh.

I think Bangladesh should look at the South African batting lineup and learned something because almost everyone in the liner has contributed really well in my opinion, but when Bangladesh is playing it feels like one or two players are expected to always perform otherwise the team is not going to do very well. That happens especially in the test format.

Bangladesh have already won the ODI series and they were expecting same victory in Test without any effort. Now in Test South Africa came back strongly and have won the first test, while looking to win the second test. I think Bangladesh really is not a test team, ICC has given them test status without any justification. They first need to correct there domestic setup.

At the end of day 1,  South Africa had collected 278 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. I really don't see too many flaws in their game. Almost all of their batsmen played really well.
Indeed, all of the players has contributed with their batting performance in day 1. I think South Africa will score above 450 runs if their reaming batsmen contributes in the same way. Otherwise they will score something above 350 runs. Bangladesh players won't be able to bat in the same way. Bangladeshi batting lineup will collapse like the first test if their opening batsmen fail to make a good partnership.

South Africa looks really good for at least 400 runs in the first innings.  unless of course, the Bangladesh bowlers can do something really amazing. Which I highly doubt is going to happen.
Bangladesh bowlers need to tighten up their line and length because they have been a little all over the place in my opinion.

A decent performance from South African after winning first test at Durban Tajul done good job for visitors near end of the day but still a good work to do him and other teammates if they want to keep alive in this match because if South African reach above 350+ then surely this could be problem for them as their batting line-up is already struggling against them in first test.
Elgar Bavuma and Petersen all reach fifties and fail to do some big score but still a valuable contribution for their team. Now, we have to wait for Bangladesh batting performance after the worst end of second inning in the first test match of this series. Tamim could be good for them if he stays at crease for some time because he is currently a quality batsman in visitors with his good experience of this game.

I hope they don't put blame on umpiring this time. South Africa will defiantly finish there innings above 400 runs from here and it will be tough for Bangladesh to level that mighty total. SA is not with there full strength as there key players are playing IPL while Bangladesh is playing with there full strength. Bangladeshi bowlers have already failed to perform on first day, lets see whether they can perform on second day or not.

I think Bangladesh had a great chance to reduce the score if they took the review in proper time. First wicket was so crucial for them. Already SA have scored good run and they will try to add some more run in second day. Bangladesh has no classic batsman in this test. They need to play well in this test to come back in the series.

South Africa lost their second wicket by 133 runs. Dean Elgar returned to the dressing room with 60 runs. South Africa collected 158 runs and lost only two wickets. The South African players are batting very responsibly. Besides, the bowling of Bangladeshi bowlers does not look good. I do not see any experienced bowler on the team. And if they can't take a few more wickets, South Africa will easily collect more than 300 runs at the end of the first day.
At the end of 82 overs, South Africa managed to add 269 runs to the scoreboard. They lost only 4 wickets. Almost every top-order batsman has batted well. Now Temba Bavuma is unbeaten on 66 runs. If Bangladeshi bowlers can get Bavuma out today, then South Africa's innings will end in the first session tomorrow. The performance of Bangladesh pace bowlers today is very disappointing.

But, I have to say the player who impressed me the most on this day one is Temba Bavuma. he scored 67 runs but he was in the crease for a long time. I was really amazed to see how patient a batsman can be. Bangladesh really needs to take a closer look at this and learn something.

278/5 is final score on day 1 from SA. Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder are two new batsmen on the crease at the moment. Bangladesh has got few wickets but SA have scored good enough runs. Seems like SA can score 400 runs in there first innings and it will be difficult for Bangladesh to chase down such a big total.

South Africa      VS      Bangladesh

Bangladesh is now playing its second Test match against South Africa. So far South Africa has collected 133 runs. And they lost just one wicket. Elger is unbeaten on 70 and Peterson is unbeaten on 38. And since Bangladesh is very weak in Test format. So my guess is that Bangladesh will lose the second Test as usual. And the way South Africa is batting now, they can easily collect more than 350 in the first innings.

South Africa are in strong position of the match after 80 overs, they have scored 260/3. Just 10 overs left of the day and they can easily cross 300 runs. Not much impressive performance from Bangladeshi bowlers as they have only picked 3 wickets till now. Odds are definitely in favour of SA at the moment.

Not a big fan of Umpire's call tbh. IMO when someone taking a DRS review for LBW and if ball clipping the wickets then it should be out, not umpire's call-Not out. You don't say it's not out or missing the leg-off-top of stump when ball barely kisses the stump and bails fall of the wickets.

More funny thing is that no one taking notice of this and no disciplinary action has been taken against Indian players. Had this done by player of weak board like Pakistan or  SL, the player would be immediately suspended.
The second test will begin in a while and the way this tour is going nothing can be said about the outcome of the match.
They didn't get penalty because Umpire Erasmus also showed his dissatisfaction and shock with the DRS replay and said "That is impossible". Indians and on field Umpire commented on DRS tech not any individual or player.

Although Virat did lash out on Broadcaster "talking to stump mic" but it was related to SandPaper scandal. They were only following Indian fielders, which is absolutely right but they didn't follow Protea's fielders much when India was batting, that's why Virat said “Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball, eh! Not just the opposition. Trying to catch people all the time.”

We're approaching the SAvBAN second test, which takes place from April 8th to 12th. Taskin and Shoriful, Bangladesh's two key pace bowlers, will both miss the second Test against SA. Let's hope they recover well from the dreadful performance in the first Test. Even though the first test was marred by controversial umpiring, we cannot deny that Bangladesh batsmen should also take responsibility for their unhealthy wickets given away to South African bowlers.

I have already stated this. Umpiring errors are unintentional and doesn't always target one particular team. Bangladesh performed horribly against South Africa and it is not proper to put the blame on the umpires. For heaven's sake these guys got blasted out for just 53 runs on board. And it was a couple of spinners who did that. Bangladesh prepared dustbowls for their recent home matches, so that they can use the spinners to their advantage. The tracks in South Africa were far more decent compared to what they had prepared in Dhaka and Chattogram against West Indies.

Obviously, The DRS Technology can also have flaws and that is the only reason umpires call exists in cricket.

As far as I know, the rules say that the Technology cannot be 100% accurate all the time so the umpires' call will have certain importance on the decision of the DRS system.
And after all these years it is actually really funny and dumb to see the Indian players doing something like that. Cheesy
