The third test between India and Australia will set the tone for the rest of the series. I feel it's the make or break test of this series since both teams destroyed each other in the first two tests and are high on adrenaline now.

Key players to look out for are Bumrah, Boland, Pant, Head, Jaiswal and Marnus in my opinion. Let's see what happens.

I don’t think that is the right cause. I mean IPL is still few months away and India still have three more test matches left in this series. Also both IPL (T20) and test cricket are different formats. I don’t think anyone can give such an excuse for the poor batting performance. Also the players need to perform better in all games in order to give their 100% in IPL. If a player is out of form in the current series, how can he suddenly become in-form in the next tournament  Huh

You can't really ignore the impact from IPL. For Indian test performance, this impact has been mostly negative. Previously the Indian squad had quality test players such as Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, who would focus solely in test format. Such players are rare now. When someone plays T20 format for 80% of the time, he may face difficulties in transitioning to the longer format. And from what I can see, this was very evident during the second test match. Batsmen are being over-aggressive, and bowlers are not willing to experiment.
When a player plays regular T20 series or T20 league, but test playing endurance will decrease in him due to which the player will try to be aggressive. Basically, India might want to take a chance that they will include some attacking players in Test matches so that they can get more runs on the scoreboard in quick time. Their technique was correct because test cricket usually has maximum players inside the shot circle due to which it is easy for any T20 batsman to play big shots but since the opponent is Australia and they have the best bowlers, it may not be right to test against them.
Before announcing the team for the Test series against Australia, it must be considered that which Test player has a good overall performance against Australia and only those players should be appointed against Australia so that the competition between India and Australia will be even.

Too much experiments and changes in the team sometimes are not helpful and it further decreases the performance of the team. Also those who might be removed from the team, they are big names and that can also creates some panic and maybe politics in the team too. I think India should take sensible decisions if they decide to bring any change in the team.

The next test match will begin in Brisbane from tomorrow and I am not hearing any news of big changes in the team.
Indian fans are very worried about how much the Indian team players will be able to change their game in the next Test match in Brisbane tomorrow. The way the Indian team players have started losing form, there is also doubt whether they will be able to do anything good in tomorrow's match. If the Indian team players fail to do anything good in tomorrow's match, then the Indian team will be in a lot of trouble in terms of public support. Therefore, considering everything, the Indian team players should take the field with full preparation. So that they can win the hearts of the Indian team fans.

Australia won by 10 wickets against India in their 2nd Test match and thus Australia already ensure their victory in this test series even without playing the last test match yet. In this match, India won the toss and opted to Bat First. In the 1st inngins, India did 180-10 runs which is similar score like as they did in first test match. Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on zero runs. Besides kohli and rohit did worse as they aren't in the form now. Shubman Gill, KL Rahul tried to make some runs, specially Nitish Reddy(42) did higher score. Mitchell Starc got 6 wickets alone. Besides Australia did 337-10 runs in first inngins where Marnus Labuschagne(64) did half century and Travis Head(140) showed his legendary performance with his century. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj got four wickets each. Apart from that, after the start of 2nd inngins, India failed to improve their batting performance and did around same 175-10 runs where players did poor batting once again. Pat Cummins got five wickets alone. Besides when it came to Australia turn, they easily did 19 runs and won the test match without losing any wicket in second innings.
India toured Australia with their strong team and expectations from India against Australia were high but India could not live up to those expectations. In the second Test match, India lost to Australia by a huge margin of 10 wickets.

Indian fans who are thinking that they will easily reach the final of the Test Championship, such a performance by India can certainly cause them to worry. The way Australia have performed and the way they are doing well in this Test Championship match, we can definitely see Australia as the first finalist. Now another team will qualify as the second finalist from among all the other teams and we will have to wait more to be sure who that team will be.

Instead of thinking about the World Test Championship, the Indian team should focus on the current test series and try to show a better performance. Many Indian fans including the people around the world are angry and also surprised seeing the Indian team poor batting performance.  India has been known for their batting but here we are seeing them hardly reaching to 200 runs in an innings. In the second test they were able to make 180 and 175 runs in both innings. Too bad batting performances  Sad
The attention of the Indian team players may now have shifted towards the IPL due to which they are not performing well in the Test series. The batsmen always seem to contribute less than the bowlers in the Indian team. Some may have been sold at a high price for IPL and some may not have fetched the price as expected. If Indian cricketers read about these now, they will not be able to do well at the international level. The way India lost against Australia was not really expected. Team India needs to perform better and ensure that there is always a tough competition with the big teams. I also know that a team won't always win, but there is a big difference between losing a fight and losing by a wide margin.
Australian International test cricket team gave excellent effort in last match and Indian team  could not play well in this match. Australian  team won the match by 10 wickets. Indian players could not make partnership in this match and top scorer was Reddy in first inning mad he made 42 runs in first inning and all team out by making only 180 runs and in the second inning also Reddy was top scorer and he made 42 runs . Travis Head was match winner of this match because he made 140 runs in this match and he made the match one sided .Australian team got the target of 19 runs in second inning and they easily achieved this target and Labuschagne also made half century in this match and he made 64 runs in this match.

Unless the Indian selectors get their act right, I don't think India has any chance of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final. The third test is scheduled at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, and given the pace friendly conditions it is going to be a repeat of what happened in the second test. India do have qualify pacers to support Jasprit Bumrah. But then, the selectors have a permanent slot fixed for Mohammed Siraj and they don't want to consider anyone else. I personally believe that they should replace Siraj with Akash Deep or Prasidh Krishna.
Even I do not have much information about BCCI and their policies but as you already talking I have feeling now Indian cricket is also heading like we have confederation of Brazilian football which is having selection problems and mostly big sponsors and stakeholders love to have their players in playing 11 which is hurting their quality and results, but selectors can't go against them because they have huge investments so here in Indian cricket things are also going like this Mohammad Siraj needs to be replaced, but they are still not thinking about this.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently premier bowler and giving his best but sadly due to not quality support his hard work is going in vain and now their batting is also facing problems which is also not good sign then need to have better strategy for having better results in future otherwise things can go badly down if moral gone down after having defeats.

Yeah. They did mess up pretty badly in the batting department, but their bowling department did a whole lot better in comparison. Rohit is turning out to be one heck of a burden on the team these days.

Kohli deserves way more chances though. There are still 3 tests remaining in this series which is why it's still tough to predict who will win it since it's 1-1 at the moment. Let's see what happens.

Aren’t we blaming too much on the Indian team. Yes, they lost the test match but we forget that they did win the first test match too and the series is square 1-1. Also I think India will come back in the 3rd test match.

Virat Kholi didn’t play well in the last test but he did made a century in the first test match and that were the important 100 runs due to which Indian team was able to win the test. This is why it is always important to have key players in the team as you never know when they can play a master class innings.

1st inning: 44.1 overs/all out and 2nd inning: 36.5 overs/ all out. You don't deserve to win when your team can't even bat for 100 overs in 2 innings.

For some reason, intent merchants led by Rohit are not keen to face enough balls and only looking to score at a faster rate. In both India's innings, RR was well over 4 RPO. On flat decks, it works but when the pitch has enough spice for bowlers then you as a batter do the hard yards and then bring your aggressive mindset, it's 5-day test cricket not T-20 or ODI.

Indeed. India played way too aggressive, no batter tried to stay on crease, everyone tried to hit bowls that should have been left alone. KL that was seen in first match was not found in second test either.

You look at first match lineup and second match, second match's lineup is better in every way, yet India wins the first and loses the second.

If Shami comes back in third test, it should be Siraj that should be benched. Way too much of attitude for skills, and those who are actually skilled don't show that much of aggression (Starc, Bumrah).

This match literally ended in two days, I feel sad about my entertainment more so, lol.
I don't mind them playing aggressively but not everyone. Jaiswal and Pant can play their usual game, like the former first builds his inning and then attacks and the latter comes all gun blazing from 1st ball.

KL did alright in the first inning of 2nd match, considering pitch was spicy so no problem with him and i hope they continue with him at the opening slot because of the kind of form Rohit is, I don't think he deserves the opening slot, he's a big miss or hit.

Shami's services are much required but i don't know what's going with him in NCA. He's playing domestic but folks in NCA are not clearing him. He'll miss the Gabba test but I hope he gets in for Melbourne.

Siraj does have a personality disorder but he's a fine workhorse, that's why management backs him in the red ball and It's not like we have tons of readymade options available to replace him. If Shami was there then Akaash could have replaced Siraj but atm Shami is not available.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka; at the end of fourth day play, we have slightly advantage for the home side but still we have good work by the Sri Lanka as they are currently chasing 348 have 205 for 5 Kusal Mendis 39 and Dhananjaya de Silva 39 have good partnership of 83 runs which helps them after double strike by Keshav Maharaj who done good damage to visitors while they were set for good end of this day.

Although South Africa won the first Test match, the bowling performance of South Africa was at least good. But in this match, South Africa could not perform well, there was a lot of pressure from Sri Lankan players, both in terms of bowling and batting.
Sri Lanka lost the first Test match by a huge margin, but in the second Test match, Sri Lanka gave them a befitting reply. In the end, every batsman performed well in the Sri Lankan team, Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva are the two players I remember as the most hardworking. However, this Test series turned into a draw and both teams are ready to maintain their performance properly.

South African International test cricket team won the first test match by 109 runs. South African batters and bowlers played excellent in last match and won the match in the 5th day of test match.  Bavuma played crutial role in this match and played excellent in both innings of match ,he made 78 runs in the first inning of match and in the second inning he made 66 runs and gave good effort in this match. And one more batter gave excellent effort and that was Rickelton who made century in the first inning of match and applied pressure on opponent team .Nissanka made from the the Sri Lankan International test team and he made 89 runs in the first inning of the match but no one could make century from that team and that is big reason they lost this match because score was not big to chase and all team out in second inning by making only 238 runs.
South Africa has performed well in the two Tests. They have been able to show their bowling and batting skills. in today's match, although Sri Lanka was in good position at one point, that situation changed quickly. When Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets, the match was still under their control but the Sri Lankan batsmen were helpless against the bowling of Keshav Maharaj, who is the best bowler in this test match. He had 5 wickets under his control. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets. In this match, as long as Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis were in the Sri Lankan team, Sri Lanka had a chance to win but they could not bat that way. Sri Lanka did not need many runs to win against South Africa but they lost some early wickets and it was not possible for them to win.
Yes ,you are absolutely right. We saw last series performance of Sri Lankan International test cricket team which was excellent and after imagine this performance we expected that Sri Lankan team will win this match ultimately but Sri Lankan team could not perform well and we saw that Sri Lankan team lost the match by 109 runs . In the first inning batters of Sri Lankan team played well and we saw good competition but in second inning they felt pressure and South African team got advantage of pressure situation and did attack on Sri Lankan team and Sri Lankan team lost the match in the end.Temba Bavuma was awarded as player of the series because he played excellent in almost all of the matches and he was deserving candidate of this award.

No doubt into your views about Pakistan and South Africa but here most chances we will be having another win for the South Africa in test series because current Pakistan team is not capable of giving them any challenge with this success most chances we will be having South Africa at the top of WTC table, and then we need one more team which will be from three teams Australia, India and Sri Lanka because this series BGT is important winner could be on better chance with in case win for Australia we will be having India out and then just Australia and Sri Lanka will be in competition.

Situation is interesting but after watching second test match between Australia vs India I have strong feeling this time we will be having no India into final of the WTC due to their poor batting in last few matches.

Unless the Indian selectors get their act right, I don't think India has any chance of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final. Technically I think if India bats first then Rohit can come at the start because there would be no pressure on him. I think these legends need a few good innings where they can play without pressure and get their form back.

Red ball and white ball cricket is completely different, the difficult time to bat on the red ball matches is at the opening slot when there is shine which helps with swing and seam than the old ball. Usually Rohit opens the innings all the time except this match just because the previous match KL and Jaiswal was extraordinary so as a captain he took a call and with bad form he demoted himself.

I believe he will play this series and if he can't able to find his form then I guess himself might announce his retirement because he is only struggling with the going away ball for a while and all his dismissals were kind of similar and every team just come up with the same strategy to take his wickets.

With the win, the Australia team has levelled the 5-match series 1-1. We've got 4 more matches, and those are going to be interesting. Pacers have ruled the second test match, and let's see what's going to happen in the third test match. The third test match is scheduled at the Gabba ground, which is much more favourable for the fast bowlers. Based on that, the upcoming match will also be a low-scoring one, as the first test match in which the Indian team won.

Rohit Sharma is still playing at number 6 according to Pujara. He is not in form right now and struggling against every single bowler while on the other hand, Virat Kohli is not playing with consistency.  In short, we can say both of the legends are not in form right now and we are not seeing any signs that they will make a comeback.

Technically I think if India bats first then Rohit can come at the start because there would be no pressure on him. I think these legends need a few good innings where they can play without pressure and get their form back.

Yes, South Africa has reached number one in the WTC rankings after playing only 10 matches. Two Test matches between South Africa and Pakistan will start in a few days. If South Africa can beat Pakistan in those Test matches, Then they can qualify for the WTC tournament. Because if they can defeat Pakistan in those two test matches, their points will increase from other teams.

The first Test match between visiting Pakistan and host South Africa will start from December 26.
LOL.. this is going to be great. Both South Africa and Pakistan are considered as "chockers" in international cricket. And the battle between them will be to find out who is the biggest chocker. All that said, South Africa will have the upper hand. They had a great series against Sri Lanka and their players are in form. On the other hand, Pakistan lost their last match against Zimbabwe. There are endless permutations and combinations possible, and there are 4-5 teams who can still qualify for the WTC final. The picture will be clear only by January 2025.
