Srilanka playing 1 series in SA and 1 at home against Australia so right now it's balanced for them.
IMO, unofficially India are almost out. There is no way we are winning 4 tests in Australia.
India doesn't deserve to be in WTC and this will teach them a valuable lesson of how to build a separate team for test format instead of going with the star players. Kiwis are fighter so I want them to be in finals to make it exciting.
Indian Players might be busy with IPL retentions, which why they didn't practice well for the match.
They shouldn't get in and rightly so.
Kiwis winning against India in India might be their biggest test achievement because whitewashing India is rare so yeah they are fighters but they are up against England so i am not sure about their WTC finals.
The tried and tested strategy of preparing dust bowls for home series against SENA teams is not really working for the sub-continental teams. In recent weeks, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan all suffered crushing defeats while trying to do this. And it is perplexing for me to see India still continuing with this strategy. Their spinners are near retirement. Ravichandran Ashwin is 38 years old, while Ravindra Jadeja is close to 36. Rather than depending on the spinners, they could have prepared pace-friendly tracks. Remember that New Zealand had William O’Rourke and Matt Henry opening the bowling for them.
That's a dumb and knee jerk reaction.
India lost the home series after 12 years and won 18 consecutive series. I agree it was a humiliating and humbling experience but you don't change the tried and successfully tested system after losing 1 series. There are problems in batting and potential transition in the team, both batting (Rohit-Kohli) and bowling (Ash-Jaddu). You have to address those issues, not the behavior of pitches.
Australia lost 2 back to back home series against India, did they switch their pitches to rank turner instead of bouncy seam wickets? No, they didn't so why should India?
