Giants +4.5 tonight whats everyone think of this game. I think I'm taking the giants and the under.  I could see a 20-17 game here.  Both offenses pretty bad right now.  I might even take the giants ML if the odds are good enough. Either way, terrible game if the 1-5 giants win they will be 1/2 game out of first place lol.
The Giants' spread seems like a good play but I didn't watch their game last week against Washington so I went with the Eagles to win @1.4. A lot of people are on the spread and it's tempting to take after what the Eagles put up against the Ravens but i'll play it safe with the match winner pick.  Cheesy

Thinking of playing the Eagles this week for my survivor pool since they're against the Giants. They had a decent showing last week against the Ravens and if they win here they'll also take the Cowboys spot right ?

Betting on the jets to cover anything this year is a ballsy play.  Miami just shut them down why wouldn't the Bills.  I mean they played the reining SB Champs and got beat, actually I think the odds got lowered on the bills and jets game so its better odds now than before and I think the bills will be motivated to wreck them and get back on track with a division win.
I agree it's hard to rely on Jets and I remember someone posted on reddit that they haven't covered a single spread. But since this is a divisional match it could end up being close just like the first week. The spread started at 10 but now it's at 13.5 if it goes to 14 or more I think it could be a decent play.

Im pretty sure the bookmakers are adjusting the spread on the Bills/Jets game and might overinflate it a bit to make the Bills look like they should easily cover the spread.
Bills started off hot but def. have been cooling down. The loss against the Chiefs, meh, its the Chief and they have been on a roll, but those losses sure do hurt a team.
So we have 2 scenarios, the Bills come out mad ready to show that they are a good team and destroy the Jets, or come out slow because motivation is low.

I bank on mad.  No way their motivation is low knowing this is a divisional game and this is their division to win.  After years and years of patriots reign, they finally have their shot and dont think they will take their foot off the peddle in this one.  I can see 31-13 on this game.

Playing with fire.  I mean they won't go 0-16 against the spread but have ypu watched any of their games?  I can't see how they will even sniff 1 win.  It could easily be 14-0 Bills in the first quarter.  I would take the Bills all day at 13.5 I'd probably take them all the way up to 16.5, possible tease play for better odds.

Its now starting to look like the Bills are not as good as most of us thought after losing again to a strong team. They should be winning this Sunday against the Jets but I might have a bet on the Jets to cover the spread if it looks good as the Bills momentum is down right now. After this Jets game they have some tough games coming up so that is when we'll see if they are really a contender this season or pretender.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
snip

I dont think the game against the niners is a sure loss.  Same thing for baltimore, the eagles just took them to the brink why couldn't the Pats.
Maybe I worded it too strongly still I see very small probabilities for NE to win those games, why? NE has changed their style of winning games, during the most recent years except the last NE won games by Brady using dink and donk as they call it, special teams that made few mistakes and won good field position and a defence that was top 10 or even top 5 when it came to points allowed, and if things went awfully wrong NE could always rely on Brady to try to save the day.

However since last year things changed, the defence became the most important unit and Brady became a game manager, due to injuries running the ball was difficult if not impossible and Brady had to pass all the time, the problem? WRs could not get separation, things were so bad that if I remember correctly not a single NE’s WR was among the top 100 on that stat, so Brady had to get rid of the ball a lot, this gave the impression his game had decreased even more than what actually has, Brady knew he had to be very careful with the football otherwise NE will not have the opportunity to make a comeback and as a result Brady was intercepted only 8 times.

But what about this season? NE has always depended on out-preparing their opponents but due to the covid19 pandemic there was no preseason, benefiting those with more raw talent, then many cases were discovered among the team and they lost their BYE without any chance to improve the team in the process, as of right now due to different circumstances NE has 23 players on the injury report and they have two 6th round rookies as starters on the OL making more difficult to get any kind of running game going on.

So far NE is trying that the defence keeps them in the game, establish the running game and once NE do this they can more easily activate their passing game, NE offence ranks 5th in rushing game but NE ranks last on the passing game and 25th at scoring offence, Cam has been intercepted 4 times which is not bad but he is bound to be intercepted more than Brady at the end of the season despite WRs gaining way more separation this year.

All in all I just do not picture a way for them to win those two games but most likely that is why I am just a fan and not coaching the team, I hope I am wrong after all more than anything fans want to see their favourite team win.

I dont think the giants give up on jones just yet.

I don't think so too and it wouldn't be the right thing to do if I am being honest. It's just me being done with watching this team (lose) and what do you do then ? You blame the QB Grin But I also see no progress with Jones. That line is bad, although they are "working" on it for years already spending draft picks and money, but Jones still does a lot of rookie mistakes and makes bad decisions, which is not the lines fault. The line forces him into these situations, but just throw the damn ball away, if there is no receiver open Roll Eyes

It's lacking talent in all areas though. Secondary, LB's and D-Line are very mediocre, the WR corps is solid, but nothing special. At TE and RB there is some talent, which doesn't get to show because of Jones/line. And thats to blame on the GM then and the coaching afterwards. Giants are searching for a good/fitting coach for ages and if you don't have some stability on that position, you will always start from scratch at some point.

My favourite soccer team is in the same position as the Giants. They turned every stone, changed all personnel, new managers, new coaches and they keep on struggling and don't know what more to do to be successful again. And I don't know as well, you can just keep on grinding and hope that everything will fall into place sooner or later. I think I would start a new process once more and look for a new GM.....

Yes the giants finally won lol.

I wouldn't say Giants won, but Washington lost Cheesy A 4th quarter fumble recovery TD by the Giants and then WAS going for 2pts with 36sec left, which the Giants defended well tbf, although I think Allen could have run it in himself, but anyway. I'd rather have a high draft pick (Lawrence ?) than winning a game here and there, since this team is just bad and they are going nowhere with Jones at QB (and Gettleman as GM). But in the end it would need picks 1-10 to make this team somewhat competitive again in 2-3 years Roll Eyes

Well we saw what Brady and that Tampa D did to Rodgers, shut them down...

Everything looked good for GB until Rodgers threw these back-to-back INT's. From then on, it was all Bucs. And this happens very often in NFL, sometimes even just the half-time is enough. It's pretty interesting to watch from a psychological point of view, since I don't know any sports (maybe Darts), where a single event can turn a game upside down. And it's even more unlikely in a team sport compared to something like Tennis, where you see players implode every now and then as well; but it's no single point then, it evolves over a period of time, which you can spot/feel with experience. In NFL it can be that ONE play and everything changes, amazing.

Ouch!  I didn't make any predictions this week, but all that talk about the Steelers going 5-0 for the first time since the Bradshaw days seemed to drive them.  Cleveland is looking good this year, which is nice to see.

Yes, poor pick. But better to lose a bet 7-38 than 35-38 with a FG while the clock expires. Browns were super bad yesterday, but the Steelers defense was just out of this world. Seemed like they always already knew upfront what CLE wanted to do. Mayfield was benched, OBJ took off his shoes already mid 4th quarter and Steelers gave some snaps to Rudolph as well. Was a better preseason game for good parts Grin

I dont think the giants give up on jones just yet.  The line is horrendous, what will Lawrence do behind that line?  And I'm tired of watching the giants lose game after game id rather them have a worse draft pick and win some games.  Look at the Jets, what free agent is going to want to sign with them even if they get Lawrence.  At a certain point you have to just go out and win games forget about draft slot

What do you guys lean on for today's games. I'm still undecided on which side to take but I feel like the home teams could pull a win here after watching those upsets against the Rams and Packers.  Wink

Edit : I remember tykiwanuka mentioned about the Bills record not that convincing despite winning 4 out of 5 since they faced weaker teams so I went with the Chiefs handicap.

I'm with you on the Chiefs as I'm still not sure how good the Bills really are as a few of us have mentioned in here, they haven't really played any of the stronger teams so it will be interesting to see how they go against the SB champs.

Anyone liking the Cowboys tonight? I would of placed a bet on them if they were not the fav but they are so I think I'll just sit back and watch game.

The game of NE was exasperating to watch, this was the first time a Belichick team lost when the defence did not allowed a TD, the score may seem close but if it was not for the excellent defence that could have been easily become a blowout, what is worse is that for the most part NE is experimenting the same offensive problems than last year and nothing was done to try to fix them, the sacks against Cam happened because no one was open and when we add that Cam himself is not the most accurate QB this compounds the problem.

I know there have been injuries and the lack of practice due to the coronavirus did no help but the loss against DEN was critical. Now NE has to face SF, at BUF, at NYJ, BAL, at HOU and ARI, except for the NYJ all seem like very difficult games especially if the offence keeps scoring 21.8 PPG, the games against SF and BAL are sure losses and the game against NYJ is a sure win, but the games against BUF, HOU and ARI are up on the air.

I dont think the game against the niners is a sure loss.  Same thing for baltimore, the eagles just took them to the brink why couldn't the Pats.  I do agree there is little to no way they can lose against the jets, i dont think the jets have a chance to win a single game this year they are pathetic.

I am putting some money on the Browns tb the Steelers today Tongue

Looking forward to Bucs - Packers, where I think GB will get the W, but the odds look ok-ish for that to happen.

I was looking forward to that game also, then it got boring as fuck.  Definitely not the results I expected, especially after the first quarter.  Rodgers looked rattled, very unusual to see him that way.

Did anyone get a glimpse of the LA@SF odds before the game?  I imagine that the Rams were favored.  I was not looking forward to seeing the Nines lose again, but was pleasantly surprised by their outing.

I'll be pissed if its just the Vikings that screw me over as I really thought they were a certain winner with the way the Falcons have been playing so far.

We all got hoodwinked by the Vikings, 60% of my bets lost because of them, unbelievable.

Steelers spanked Cleveland real good, Giants got NY first win of the season and Patriots surprisingly lost at home.

New England Patriots fall below .500 this late in NFL season for first time since 2002

Anyone watching Packers vs. Tampa game? Rodgers with 2 INT in three passes, Bucs 28 unanswered points, leading big at the half.

Yes the giants finally won lol.  Hard to believe that if the cowboys lose tonight the giants will be only one game out of first place.  The nfc east this year can be a year where first place only wins 6 games.  6-10 hosting a home field playoff game, terrible lol

There was so much hype around Rodgers, he is going to go off against Brady.
Brady doesnt have it anymore, and so on.
Well we saw what Brady and that Tampa D did to Rodgers, shut them down...
Rodgers always seems to choke when its Superstar QBs he is playing against.

Another week with some surprising upsets thus far. At least a couple poor teams finally got their first W. In a Battle of the Bays, Buccaneers are dominating the Packers as Rogers is having his worst game in what could be years -- glad I didn't bet on that one.

My pick for this week is Rams -3... Some books have it at -2.5 and some at -3. The sportsbook I'm using is paying 2.24x for -3 so I kinda had to take it.

Of course the most exciting game will be tomorrow, with 2 of the best teams in the league facing off against each other, both coming off of losses. I'd pick the Chiefs to win all day, but this season anything can happen (more than usually) and I would not at all be surprised if they got steamrolled by the Bills.

Edit: Fucking hell, lost again!   Tongue   Cheesy
