Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega

Both will return after a lot of months without a fight but Ortega has recently fought the Korean Zombie last Oct. 18, 2020, and it is a great fight for Brian Ortega, and Volkanovski has another controversial fight with Max Halloway, but for this pick, I will be basing my decision with the Max Halloway fight, Brian Ortega doesn't quite go his way with Max Halloway and lose the fight but Alexander Volkanovski have settled a 2 win decision against Halloway, but we can not say for sure if this is a new Ortega that can take Volkanovski or if the favor will not go again for him and with being said Volkanovski has a win versus Halloway, and with that stat, I am going with Alexander Volkanovski, and with stake.com odds, Volkanovski has 1.59 while Ortega got 2.55.

Curtis Blaydes vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

This is a great fight for a heavyweight but oh man this two is just below in the great division of the Heavyweights, just below Derrick Lewis, and much below than Cyril Gane and Francis Ngannou, both are just can surely compete to the top leverage of the Heavyweight food chain and right now we are seeing them clash against one another, and this fight I think that Jairzinho Rozenstruik had the power on his right and left strike, he surely has the takedown defense that he needs but he never really fought Curtis Blaydes and I think that Rozenstruik doesn't really have a ground game or a takedown move he is just using this power and always ending the fight with a sudden punch, but I think that Blaydes has the durability to withstand that, and can takedown Jairzinho and go with a barrage of punches, to win this, so I am going with Curtis Blaydes and has 1.34 on his odds while 3.65 on Rozenstruik on stake.com.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CUJL5rBpnBa/ - after seeing these, my prediction to this fight would be Lawler winning it.
https://www.instagram.com/Ruthless_RL/ - he looks more hungry and ready. While Nick is somehow, does not look like he is prepared well. There is a funny comment - "This in slow mo?"  Cheesy

Btw, Diaz vs Lawler fight had to be in welterweight, but several days before the event they were allowed to fight as middleweight. Someone did not manage to make weight. And according to Instagram, this is Nick Diaz. Good point - these veterans wont be exhausted by weight cutting, bad point - Lawler gonna win. Make your bets gentlemen's.  Grin

Sure, it was actually suggested by Diaz camp to fight a different weight. And at this point in Lawler's career, I'm sure he doesn't care. The crazy thing of all of this is that Gibert Melendez thinks Diaz could be in title contention with a win ower Lawler XD I don't know if he's toling or just brain-damaged.

It was Nick he fought, not Nate.
Oh my bad. I'm still confused with the names of those two.

~
Nicks' attitude might get the better of him. I feel like he sometimes plays too passive and tries to endure some of the punches which might end up having him getting KO'd. Sometimes trying to play aggressive and confidently landing some punches on your opponent does the job to break his confidence. I like how Nick tries to read his opponent by taking the time but that could cost him the match. You really don't want to wait for too long to read your opponent to make a counter only to get KO'd in the face.
Yeah the passive style comes with his confidence on his almost unlimited gas tank and iron chin. He was quite the aggressor during their first fight though and that somehow intimidated Roby.

Diaz will win this easily as he has some great experience to counter Lawler's skill. Diaz knows how to counter his opponent but lately, he was just not that confident enough to win his last fight. I wonder if he still gets some guts to execute some good plan to win this fight since he already suffered straight losses in his last 2 fights.
I don't know about that. Both have the head and body endurance, and I am sure it will be a brawl match. I think Lawler won't stop until he gets that lucky KO punch just like last time when Nick got wobbly. He may really have a chance for a knockout but he needs to throw more punches.
On the other hand, there's no question Nick can endure a lot of punches but sometimes he waste too much time with taunts. He could just preserve those energy and use it for his fist.

When Nick fought Coner, I still remember that blood was pouring all over his face and I was amazed that he could even see through all those blood, and eventually Nick came out victorious. So I don't care what anyone says about this fight and about Nick and Nick being on the losing side, I still think Nick will be the winner if something magical doesn't happen.

Conor McGregor had some problem with police before but his friends are following him, like Dillon Danis who was choked by security guard and later arrested Smiley

Four more fighters signed a deal with UFC after last Dana White Contender Series and I am very interested to see young Michael Morales in Welterweight and AJ Dobson in Middleweight.

I'm excited for Ortega. I'll be honest, I haven't always routed for him, especially against the Korean Zombie, but my word did he prove me wrong on that night. One of the best performances I've seen against the Zombie. I'm not 100% confident on him winning this weekend, but I'm confident enough to put a outright win down. I feel like it'll go to a decision, but I know there's knock out power in both fighters. Alex is the favourite, but the odds are fairly close, I think there's good enough value on Ortega though.

The Diaz fight I'm not actually that interested in. I think Lawler wins, but wouldn't be bothered either way. Definitely won't be including it on my accumulator.

What are we thinking about the main event?

Lol.  No one really calls it ‘marijuana’ anymore.  ‘Marijuana’ is a dumb made up term to make a plant look like it was harmful for your psyche.

No one except wikipedia article  Grin How it called then? Weed? Or Cannabis?

Anyway it was really a bad decision to disqualify because Nick had a smoke recently.

I hope the Diaz vs. Lawler 2 doesn't turn out to be like Diaz vs. Silva. If you remember Nate had to lay down on the floor because Anderson was too cautious Grin Roby has always been aggressive but who knows how he'll approach the match this time.

If Bryan wins, it will be another great chance for Max to get the belt back.

It was Nick he fought, not Nate.

That fight gave us more than just a boring fight because Diaz was not as fast as Spider and wanted to submit him. That fight showed how bad and unfair athletic commission is. That fight allowed current fighters to smoke marijuana and not be afraid to be disqualified.

Reminder - even though both fighters failed drug tests, Silva was disqualified for 1 year because NSAC found anabolic steroids in his tests, but Diaz was disqualified for 5 years because they found marijuana in his tests. I cant comment why marijuana is worse than anabolic steroids...

After that case, smoking marijuana will no longer affect on drug tests results. So after that case, commission will close eyes if they find it in test.

Lol.  No one really calls it ‘marijuana’ anymore.  ‘Marijuana’ is a dumb made up term to make a plant look like it was harmful for your psyche.  It was mostly used for propaganda during the first rounds of the ‘war on drugs’ in the US.  This was around the late 1930’s.

^ Connor McGregor is really an interesting individual. Remember the time when we all thought that conner was just Dana's puppet? Well if that is the case then Dana is surely embarrassed right now. Connor is a guy who actually popularized the UFC and he did the job of a poster boy really well, But those days are long gone. Now he's losing fights he should win, And that causes more frustration. Maybe after all he should just either quit drinking proper 12 and concentrate on fighting for just concentrate on the proper twelve.

Conor McGregor now lacks proper training and discipline, in my opinion, it is really hard for the UFC, organization to adjust to what he did, maybe he can not take how he got beat up by Dustin Poirier that is why he end up In this kind of state in his career and life, or he is just seeking attention that he wants, we may never know for sure.

UFC Vegas 37 last Sunday, was one of the fights that was indeed quite terrible in my opinion, cutelaba dominance really destroyed Devin Clark teeth in that fight, from the beginning of the round Cutelaba immediately appeared fierce and even made it difficult for Devin Clark to fight back, but even so I really salute the unyielding determination that is owned by Devin Clark, even though the doctor who treated him had advised him to give up, but Clark refused and was determined to fight for three full rounds.

I was really shocked by what happened to the match, and that teeth injury of Devin Clark would really leave a dent (get it!) dentures would be possible now, and I can really feel that kind of pain even though I am not Devin Clark, Cutelaba is a monster even though Clark can take down Cutelaba, Cutelaba is really strong that he can counter that takedown and make it his own, and the intensity of Cutelaba was really intense for Clark.

^  Both are mostly strikers, tho Diaz has BJJ skills in his back pocket.  It’s an entertaining fight..  and it brings nostalgia and name value for the event.  I don’t mind it and could drop a little action on Nick Diaz.  Wink

I am completely confused with Diaz vs Lawler fight. Diaz has fought last time years ago, Lawler is on a series of losses. Both fighters form is unknown. Lawler is a striker, Diaz is more BJJ guy that likes and easily goes in exchange. Lawler won most of his fight by KO, while Diaz is really hard to put to sleep. Bookies also offer almost identical odds.

Well guys, this event is going to interesting. Nearly every fight in main card is worth watching.

Chalky card.  I’d avoid going for the straight bets and go for two or three leg parlays.  But I’d take a shot in Brian Ortega as a slight underdog tho.  Guy to watch is Chris Daukas.  He’s been doing really well since coming in the UFC last year.  Fast hands, light on the feet for a heavy weight.

What a follow-up by UFC, the first Lawler / Diaz fight took place in 2004 XD

According to Albert Einstein, traveling in time is impossible, but on news tabloids we see Diaz fights Lawler, Belfort and Ortiz are also mentioned, Fedor Emelianenko fights someone, Anderson "Spider" Silva is on hype again, Cristiano Ronaldo is in Manchester United, Putin is a President. Arent we are back in 2004 ? Cheesy

(I took that quotation from youtube video)

Current and next numbered UFC events (267-268) are going to be huge. We gonna see a lot of changed in UFC ranking.

Ahahaha, well, you ain't wrong about that XD We might revert back to the old ruleset, hey, what are Royce Gracie, Don Frye, and Akebono up to these days? Smiley Anyway, I am not against fights like these, but this is way overdue and I'd treat this as a glorified sparring match than anything else. Just like Silva and Diaz were.
