^  Exactly...  With all the hype on Costa and, before the fight, a lot of people were rooting for him to have the style to give Adesanya problems.  Wasn't so.  Total domination by Adesanya which is why it's unforgettable for me.  It really showed that Adesanya is on another level.  Whether he's something special like Anderson Silva remains to be seen.  I guess we'll see it if he fights Jon Jones and wins.

Too early for Chim...  The postponed match vs Leon Edwards would've made him one tho.  But then again Edwards is a world beater.  If Chim beats him, it's prolly the WW title next.

^  At the top of my head, Adesanya vs Costa and Thiago Santos vs Teixeira.  Disappointment of the year there's Sean O'Malley.  Fighter to watch next year, def Fiziev.  He'll be at the top 10 at LW for sure.
Adesanya and Costa was a complete one sided fight despite all the hype, the fight of the year was Justin Gaethje v Tony Ferguson as i did not expect Justin Gaethje to win against Ferguson and the disappointment for the year was Tony Ferguson as he lost two in a row and the another one is Khabib announcing his retirement.  Sean O'Malley injured his leg in the fight and i think they are scheduled for a rematch next year.

The superstar of the year is none other than Khamzat Chimaev.

Edit:  There are lots of guys to watch out for on 2021 but another one that stands out is Romanov at HW.  He's fun.  Smiley

Its going to be hard not watching any live UFC for the next few weeks.

Maybe you can find something useful in MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... topic. Of course the level of events are not as cool as UFC, but still there some decent fight in this organizations. You can always rewatch 2020 fights Cheesy

Btw guys, as year 2020 is almost ready, lets discuss the events and fight this year. Which fight you like the most or remember? Maybe you want to discuss a new star of a disappointment of the year?

Its going to be hard not watching any live UFC for the next few weeks. I really got used to watching it every weekend possible. Anyway, what do we think about a Moreno vs Figuerido rematch this year? Must be one of the fights of the year, and honestly I'm fancying Moreno. I don't think Figuerido will be happy with a draw, and I think Moreno will think he might have even deserved it on the night.
The draw was the right decision and both Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo took the fight at short notice and performed one of the best fights of the year and everyone wants to see a fight with full training camp and it will be interesting.

As @notblox1 pointed Figueiredo was hospitalized the day before the fight and that might have drained him to perform to his potential as he was literally slowing down in the last round and hence the draw.

Anyway, a Holloway vs Kattar main event is a good way to start the year.  I kinda like Kattar as the underdog here.  But we'll see.  Maybe Holloway picks it up and puts himself back in contention for another title run like what Whitaker did.
Calvin Kattar and Max Holloway is a really great fight as both are great boxers and it is an important fight as Calvin Kattar could fight for the title if he wins against Holloway.

It was amazing first fight and Moreno was great but one thing was important for that fight and that is the fact that Deiveson Figueiredo had stomach infection and was in hospital day before this fight.
Both of them have prepared for this fight in shorter notice and I expect to see much better and stronger Deiveson Figueiredo next time, so I would expect him to win with full training camp and good health bur Moreno will not gave up easy for sure Smiley

I'm not arguing against the draw as I thought it was very close, and could have gone either way. I do think Moreno might take it the second time though.

Def there's a rematch.  Prolly happening at summer 2021 during international fight week.  And yup, I fancy Moreno too but most likely bet on the over since Moreno has never been finished and Fig slows down as the match goes beyond the third.

I cannot believe Anderson Silva is still fighting. It was just a few months ago when he last fought. He looked pretty good in his last fight so he might win with all that experience.

Anderson is a true warrior, just like you I cant believe it... He is 44 years old and he is competing against younger guys in a very demanding sport. In this occasion Anderson is more than 10 years old than his opponent... but we'll see how the fight goes.

With all the defeats and the controversy over the use of steroids, his name continues to have weight in the sport.

In this type of fight where not talking about the difference of their age, it is a matter of their skills of how they fight in the ring.
However, this is very interesting fight actually where I know a lot of viewers will surely apply betting in between the two fighters
to this battle.

^  Aldo prolly knows he's gonna be one of the guys of the 60 fighters who are gonna be cut off from the UFC.  So calling him out was prolly a good idea and could give the UFC brass something to think about.
Aldo is a big superstar for Brazil and if they let him go he will sign with Bellator like the rest of the big names they signed recently including Anthony Johnson and i do not think UFC wants that. Bellator on the other hand will match these fighters against theirs to show that they had a better roster  Grin.

Anthony Pettis also left the UFC for PFL.

Anyway, there's this guy called Pogey Rob on the Twitterz who does full card parlays.  He's hit them a couple of times before and hit it again...  Turned 10 bucks to a tad over 13k USD.
Really lucky to win a big one and i have seen some big parlay wins in recent months advertised in social media, good for them .

^  Pretty sure Dana White didn't keep the UFC going just for our benefit.  He did it to get their ratings up..  Which it pretty much did.  Their numbers are at ESPN+ afaik.
According to the agreement they need to produce shows and Dana White delivered even with many opposition from different corners.

^  Uh..  Nope.  I've been maintaining this UFC thread for years and I enjoy it.  And I enjoy trying to get more people into the sport not just from a betting perspective...  I'll decide and I'll open a new one if I want 'a reset'.  This one's fine imo.

He didn't do this for us at all, but for his stuff and all the fighters that are making his business, and I think that compared to all other sports he did tremendous work.

I have to ask again tokeweed do you agree that we all switch to new clean 2021 UFC bitcointalk topic and reset the numbers?  Smiley

Anyway, no UFC events til Jan 16.

Maybe we need to organize some virtual UFC esport betting, and I think there is still one more ONE fc event in few days.

Meanwhile I think we need to give all respect to Dana White for keeping UFC as open and live as possible in this 2020 conditions:

Nice to see former champs win (Pettis & Aldo). After winning, Aldo has called out Dillashaw as he returns from suspension next year. That match up looks good on paper at least.

See you next year folks! Hopefully we don't get more cancelled/scrapped fights.
I did not wage a bet for this card because i was not sure about Jose Aldo and Anthony Pettis and Stephen Thompson was returning after a long gap and hence i was doubtful about whom to pick and Jose Aldo won and calling out Dillashaw was not a great idea.

Greg Hardy fights are interesting to pick as the fight will not go the distance as he will win swinging wild or he gets knocked out  Cheesy.

Next UFC event is Holloway vs. Kattar in January 21
Holloway is in cross roads in his career as he will not get a title shot anytime soon and if Kattar could win the fight he could fight for the title.

I expected Aldo to finish his UFC contract but he won and probably extended his career for some time, but this last UFC event of the year was a great to watch.
Jimmy Flick won by amazing submission flying triangle choke, and Cod Durden was better fighter until that point.
Thompson deserved to win with his super karate skills in main event against bloody fight with Geoff Neal, and maybe I expected to see more from Khaos Williams this time.

Next UFC event is Holloway vs. Kattar in January 21, and if tokeweed and others agree maybe we can can switch to fresh new UFC 2021 topic I created:
