I disagree. It's the fighters that make the fight not the audience and the bouts last night went down fine without a crowd. I think the lack of fans adds a new element to the fights. Same goes for the potential Fight Island. With it being on an island there will obviously be a lack of spectators but the mere fact it being on an island adds a whole new dimension to the card. Maybe Dana will scrap it now seeing as they could probably just do the rest of the fights in Florida since UFC 249 happened without a hitch but I hope not. They could make the Fight Island into a yearly thing if it's not just a one off. I think it could potentially be pretty epic depending on the setting. Fighting on a beach or with the sea in the background could be pretty special. Going by Dana's latest interview with BT Sports he said he's still working on it so I'm hoping it will go ahead even if it is just a one off. Even without a crowd I'm sure if Connor's on the card it will break PPV records for the UFC so it will make up in lost gate receipts.


Any one of those punches he threw could have KOd him had they landed.

If Connor doesn't face Khabib next then either of them should face Gaethje. Maybe the other fight could be Ferguson but both fights couldn't be on the same card as both will want to be headine fights.

^  I kinda expected it as said a couple of times itt.  But not in that lopsided fashion tho.  I thought it was gonna be closer to 50/50.

Sad part:  Didn't pull the trigger on Gaethje. 

What he did is jaw dropping lol. I mean, I expected that one of them will drop the canvas but I never thought their fight will end so fast . How unfortunate for Rozenstruik not having a chance to showcase his punching power.
Hahaha, Khabib's greatest contender was murdered by the Ranked 4. Then who's gonna beat him now? But kidding aside, that match was so disappointing. Watching Tony bleeding and wobbling is so cringey .

The predator did amazing work, destroying Rozenstruick in just 20 seconds. Marvellous fight that got performance of the night $50k bonus. 

Main event - unexpected result. At first I wanted to write that Khabib sneak away once again, but I will say that Khabib would definitely defend his belt

Just in! George St. Pierre is now on the Hall of Fame ! D*mn! I'm glad that he made it. Actually he is the reason why I became a UFC fan. He was one of the greatest fighter of all time, he deserve this.

It is a crazy night of fights and i am overwhelmed watching all the fights. Majority of the fights went to the judges

Jeremy Stephens v Calvin Kattar

Jeremy Stephens was having the momentum in the first round and he landed some good shots but in the second round Calvin Kattar landed with one elbow and that decided the fight and a second elbow was nasty and the fight was stopped.

Francis Ngannou v Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Rozenstruik called out the grim reaper , the fight is over as it started, Rozenstruik was thinking about a technical fight landing a couple of heavy leg kicks and Francis Ngannou had enough and closed the distance fast with wild swings and the first shot he landed Rozenstruik slept and a few shots added as flavor, it was brutal.

Henry Cejudo v Dominick Cruz

It was a bit controversial but Cejudo landed many unanswered shots when the referee called off the fight but he was trying to stand up when the fight is called off and the most surprising was Cejudo retired for good.

The main event is going on, hoping fireworks

One of the best and dominating performance by Justin Gaethje and Tony could take a punch as he was eating punches after another for 5 rounds and he looked like he fell off a train and referee had no choice than to stop the fight.

My stand out performance i liked was Calvin Kattar and Francis Ngannou and Justin Gaethje for interrupting the landscape of the division, Justin Gaethje v Khabib would be great but everyone will miss the Tony fight.

We will see the extend of the situation two weeks after the event and hopefully no one will be infected after the event, what i see from reports is that the coaching staff of Jacare Souza is also positive and his training partners will also be infected and who knows which all fighters had contact with him when he came for the event.

Two more hours for the event to start, i am excited to see the fights and if everything goes well we will see all the planned fights with restrictions.

@tokeweed I have good news for you and others i.e. the event is not being canceled as Dana White has confirmed that the event will continue as per the schedule set by him, and he’s even proud of the fact that the system that he put in place to check their fighters is working. At this stage I do feel bad for Jacare as he won’t be able to participate in the event, but I’m also glad that their system for checking their fighters is working as that’ll ensure everyone’s safety in the arena.

That is unfortunate, but it is fine they identified and taken him off the card, but who knows how much people he contacted while training for the fight and when he reached the arena. I was looking at the news whether they will cancel the event but there is nothing of that sort yet, this is a really great fight card from top to bottom and i hope it will continue without much issue.

Football is a group event and if someone is positive then the entire team is in trouble and they will be forced to pause or cancel the season.

Looks like Tony was fighting shark 

Awful injury, huge scar (probably has metal plastine now inside) and bruises like he had lots of torn muscles. This leg gonna be Gaethje main goal.

I find it always interesting, how much strikes fighters with such injuries could hold, before injury starts to show signals for stop.

How unfortunate that Jacare is not the only one who got the virus, two of his cornermen did as well. Good for them they are all asymptomatic and now isolated with the others. Moreover, the Florida Boxing State Commission agree to continue the event since all remaining 23 fighters test negative. So chill, there's no need to worry abouy .

What the. . . I got my bet on that specific fighter. Hoping that the whole event will not get cancelled just because of it. Jeez.

It's unusual to see that Tony didn't surprised Dana by his yell and kung fu stance lol. He is so serious. On the other hand, I don't like Cejudo's stunt but it adds spice to their match up to be honest and I enjoyed it. Let's just wait how karma treats him .

UFC is a premier monopoly for MMA and majority of the fighters would not dare to speak against them fearing that they will loose their career.

Even if it a normal situation Khabib will not fight citing religious obligation as he is fasting, McGregor and Masvidal would be great, will they put a BMF belt for the fight to make it a title fight  .

I really hope McGregor will decline that. A fight without audience will be hugely boring. It will look like a fight of TUF(The Ultimate Fighter)... 
McGregor would be more inspired to wait few more months...

Again, initally my gut feeling says Gaethje but I already bet on the over 2.5 rounds at 2.10...  Which goes against my gut feeling.  Not betting on the main event.  I think it's more likely gonna happen like Poirier vs Gaethje..  Dunno.

Edit:  Hmmm...  I could change my mind about not betting.  Ferguson looked better on the scale than Gaethje imo.
