"I'd like to take this chance to apologise, to absolutely everybody" - Conor

So it looks like a heart felt message to me as well. Anyways maybe people misunderstood his antics specially on that occasion and then as a person he find time to realised that what he did is a total dick moved specially when he found out that it was recorded.
You do not need to be a genius to know that he punched an elderly person and that too for neglecting the offer Conor gave. The only thing he can do is to come out and save his public image and i expected this interview because the backlash he got after the video is published was damaging for his brand. It was not a heart felt message, it was a PR stunt because the incident took place a few months ago and only now the video is out for the public, so you can guess what the truth is  Grin.

I wish the senior citizen files a lawsuit and he wins a million dollars for his dick move. Cheesy

The guy is done, at this point he cannot be defended, that's simply bad. He is 'retired' anyways, I honestly doubt that he will fight again, maybe one or two fights here and there for the money but I don't see him coming back as a fighter.

Dana would disagree. Dana says in some of his interviews that if the timing is right, any fight can be done. I am certain that he already has a storyboard ready for Conor's comeback in his file cabinet hehehe.

I meant done in the eyes of the public, clearly if he wanted to fight, he could easily do it and not only in the UFC. No one is going to reject Conor lol, he can still bring millions easily. Personally I just dislike Conor now and I was a big fan before.

^  It helped but I don't think she really needed it vs Andrade.  I think if Namajunas had the same kind of power as Zhang she would've KO'd Andrade too imho.

Congrats to Zhang for making history.

WOOOOW!!!  That was quick!  We have a new dominant UFC champion ladies and gentlemen.  And from China too.  I don't think there's anybody at women's MMA that could beat Zhang.
Maybe the crowd helped her a lot. She also fought more relaxed and was moving well during the fight.
She's a complete package with good striking, ground, and submission game. She could dominate her division for a long time.

This is the one that I was pointing at earlier to show how Al Quinta found some success in there, and how someone like Conor, in an ideal world where he solves his stamina issues, could exploits those gaps between rounds were Khabib takes a break from all the intense grappling. I mean Khabib still dominated but there is a (small) chance that a top contender can do it.
We all are questioning Khabib with his fight against Al Iaquinta and how we all spot some exploits in his game and how causal he was in the fight and he was not able to take Al Iaquinta to the ground all the time, but will any fighter in any sport will fight if they go through a fight camp with Tony Ferguson and then fell off the card and get replaced by Max Holloway and on the weigh in day gets medically unfit and then they planned Anthony Pettis to be his opponent but he was not able to hit the championship weight then Paul Felder stepped up to face him but comission did not allow for strange reasons and then finally deciding on Al Iaquinta. I have seen fights and events being scrapped because of late replacement and Khabib did not care who is opponent is and still he was dominant in the fight. Conor in any ideal world will not defeat Khabib, the first one was a one sided mauling Cheesy.

However if Khabib continues in his undefeated streak, Tony has to be next.
Khabib will continue his undefeated streak, i am not underestimating Dustin Poirier and his ground game but he is not a wrestler and i have not seen him submit guys for a long time as he mostly win standing up and with Khabib his game plan is crystal clear, maul and ground and pound and only Tony has the ability to put some offence even on his back and that is the fight i want to see.

For now I'll keep going safe and getting my easy money on Khabib win bets. But I always have a bad feeling with UFC. This is not like boxing where dominant fighters like Floyd never make a mistake. In MMA you got all those different variables that crazy shit can happen thus ruining your cashflow.
The variables makes MMA the real fight scenario and so is the reason there are many fans of the sport even though it is a new sport compared to the rest of the combat events as anything can happen at any moment.

If Adesanya could win a few more fights then we might see him challenging Jon Jones for the light heavyweight championship as they already exchanged words in social media,
I've watched Jon's interview before his last fight and he's not really a fan of Israel yet. I don't know if the fight between the two will ever happen. I think Jones is just too big for Adesanya.

Some more crazy news about Conor McGregor: Allegedly, he is set to appear in a "special event" with Floyd Mayweather and as well Tenshin Nasukawa, which Floyd faced last xmas eve. This is once again another xmas eve event in Japan.. weird but fun stuff I guess:

https://www.ibtimes.com/conor-mcgregor-face-floyd-mayweather-japan-2817901

Who knows what will happen. There will be some nice betting on this, that I can tell you. With Conor and Floyd involved it will be an huge show.

Yeah, mcgregor at this point doesn't give a shit about professional fighting. He is here for the money, he is basically retired and I doubt he will ever comeback for real. It's a shame really, his style was great and the guy was clearly an amazing fighter.

And watch this vid.  Any press conference with Adesanya is the nuts.  Smiley  Can't wait for these guys to throw leather!
You gotta love the confidence oozing from this kid. He's got the fighting skills and enough experience despite his young age. I don't know if he will win but he definitely deserves the title shot.
Israel Adesanya won the interim belt and he is supposed to fight the champion and he is fighting to unify the belt. If Adesanya could win a few more fights then we might see him challenging Jon Jones for the light heavyweight championship as they already exchanged words in social media, Adesanya has the skills to be a super star with his mic skills and on the other hand Robert Whittaker is a cool dude, it will be a great fight without a doubt.

Hey guys...  Here's a vid of Andrade.  It's pretty obvious Zhang has nothing on her.  It's too early for Zhang to be given a shot at the belt (but we've been surprised before).

So did anyone see the interview with Conor on ESPN? I think he was pretty legit. Sure, there was PR involved too, but overall it sees like a heartfelt message, he really regrets that. I don't think Conor McGregor is a bad person same as I don't think Mike Tyson is a bad person. They both have been scumbags, but I think they are similar when dealing with fame. This is why Tyson recently said McGregor deserves a second chance and I agree.

I think he's becoming clearly underrated. The sports and entertainment business is brutal and former accomplishments are quick forgotten. Guy cleaned the lightweight division and became the first ever double champ. Im pretty sure he will bounce back eventually.

I too saw his long but entertaining interview, it looks like he really wishes to change and we all should support him. There were lots of emotions to be seen in this interview, but if you’ll carefully observe many words were repeatedly used which I felt was sloppy work by his PR. Also his claim of never retiring is dumb, after a certain age every fighter has to leave the ring, so what do you’ll think of his decision of never retiring.

He is partly to blame for this. He was the first one in my opinion to successfully elevate his mma fighting career to a celebrity status. As we know by now, media will build you up and tear you down in an instant. If only he can focus again and drop the party life, he can still be a champ.

I just saw an ad that Ben Askren will be fighting again in October. He will be facing Damian Maia for the main event. The promotion for this fight will be very interesting. I want to see if Askren still knows how to talk trash after eating some knee  Grin
