If you consider a local transaction as buying/selling BTC, consider a casino. There are plenty of eyes/cams to deter crimes. There's always wifi. It's easy to get change. You can dawdle away time at the quarter slots, as compared to looking suspicious loitering at your local bank lobby.
Bring a friend, don't talk to them, park them a few machines away from you.

This is so informative. Thank you for making this thread. This serves as guidelines in transacting with other people especially for trading purposes. I appreciated much about meeting in publoc areas or with cctv cameras. It's really opt to be in the said places for security purposes and in cases of fraudulent transactions. However if I may add I think we can also be vigilant in giving our payments. For me, I prefer the COD method because its more secure to get the items before giving the payment.

If possible meet up is the best way to do  when buying btc or whatever transaction it is. Or else if buyer is too far from the seller,  check if the seller has a group chat/page. Then look at his/her proofs with  posting a receipt every after dealing btc or any kind of coins.

This is very helpful information, thank you.  I am very concerned about trading Bitcoin without some kind of escrow protection.  Do you recommend any good online escrow services for buying or selling Bitcoin?     Thanks!

I recommend meeting up because first it's more legit and more social, and if your transaction is far from you find a guy who is near you and stick to that transaction but if none. always check that guy if he is trusted or a friend of yours introduced him.

How could you say that you recommend meet ups when we are talking about the cryptocurrency or the DIGITAL currency. Isn't it obvious that its purpose is for convenience of those who are having the transaction? I believe bitcoin has enough safety measures to assist and support the traders who will be having a transaction. THough, there is always a risk at everything.
