Right, but this thread is logging the "volume weighted average price" for each day. A single small trade at 1005 is enough to put the high at 1005. I think the volume weighted average is a more useful indicator of the "real" price for the day.

Edit: The VWAP is where you multiply each trade's price in USD by its volume in BTC, add them all up, and divide the total by the total volume in BTC for the day. That way big trades have more effect on the VWAP than small trades, as they should.

According to BitcoinWisdom Bitstamp high for the 1st Jan was 1005$ at 23:00.

I used quandl.com since bitcoincharts.com seems to be broken.

Does anyone know where to find the daily bitstamp volume weighted average price? BitcoinCharts.com seems to have stopped updating about 8 hours ago.
