Hello everyone! There have been a handful of questions regarding TopCoin's history, and where we are headed. I have done my best to write up a quick overview for you, to help clarify.
History:TopCoin was originally released on February 2nd, 2014, as a Proof of Work (PoW) coin. Due to the rapid distribution design, by the end of summer 2014, the majority of TopCoin had been mined and profitability dropped drastically as rewards reached a mere 1 TopCoin per block. As profitability dropped, so did the strength of the network. A small group of us fought hard to keep it going, and proposed an option to the community to introduce Proof of Stake (PoS) as an alternative mining method. This would allow the network to survive and grow as the community staked their coins. We released v2 as a PoW/PoS hybrid, but after running it for a few weeks, reports of PoS not working started coming in. Topdude and his team could not resolve it on the existing blockchain, so we transitioned to v3 with PoS confirmed as working. Since then, topdude and others left, leaving me to continue supporting the coin. I have supported TopCoin on my own for a couple of years now, keeping up with social channels/requests, funding the explorer/website, and supporting the network by running PoS on a handful of systems in the cloud.
Future:Here is a breakdown of what I see as priorities as we move into the future...

Security is a must in this day and age - especially with cryptocurrencies. We do not want to be vulnerable to attackers, with anything we build, so we will adapt a "security-first" mindset.
In order to build solutions for TopCoin and improve our public image, we will need to add some members to the team. It would be nice to have some members of the community to step up and offer some assistance, whether it is coding, social media, grapic design, etc. That is how I started out, so please do not be shy.
Our brand is recognizable by those who have been around for a while, but we need to re-evaluate things like our logo, our goals, and anything else that contributes to our overall brand. We still have the Heroes Project wallet in tact, so that could drive a lot of movement for TopCoin if we market appropriately and continue trying to assist with projects like this. We will continue applying to additional exchanges and other platforms that will consider accepting TopCoin.
Web/mobile development is a must to make TopCoin easy and desirable to use. I currently have an Android app in the works, but it is going slow as I learn how to build in that environment. Our new website is bare bones and will need to be fleshed out as soon as possible. If you have some ideas, please suggest them.
I believe Proof of Stake coins are poised to have a big year, and we offer one of the best percentages around. Lets continue to build positive momentum for TOP.
