I don't know why you guys only discuss between Liverpool and Real Madrid while we're still on top 16 elimination, there's many other big clubs that has higher chance to win e.g. Napoli, Benfica, Manchester City, PSG, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.

Cody Gakpo show a good performance for Netherlands in the world cup, but we don't know about his performance in Liverpool. What if Gakpo is similar like Nunez? Nunez was a sharp striker in Benfica, but he doesn't a same performance when he joined Liverpool.

As the defending champions so much is expected from them in the Champions league this season. Their success in the Champions league this season will depend on how much resistance they can show against any other opponent in the tournament this season begining from beating Liverpool in the next knockout round. This is a difficult task for Real Madrid and facing Liverpool for the third time I'm sure Liverpool will be looking for revenge this time.
I think Liverpool will take revenge for their previous defeat and this is an opportunity for Liverpool to meet Real Madrid again in the top 16, even though Real Madrid has the potential to win again but of course stay alert to Liverpool's game which might surprise them in the match
Liverpool will have a new player to come like gakpo. So many fans were hoping liverpool to win against real madrid but people shall also remember if liverpool will be facing real madrid. There will be another question to come just like what contribution that will be made by gakpo to the liverpool. Real madrid may get jude bellingham in january as madrid has been trying to hijack him from another club. I hope that bellingham will join in madrid and madrid will be even stronger with him.
Madrid needs midfielder to replace modric that becomes even olders. Modric was 37 years old now. It's not possible for madrid to extend his contract with the club. Madrid has no choice other than searching the one who can replace him

Real Madrid have one more year for their old players. It can be negative impact on their old players as with them, one more year means a lot for their bodies and performances.

Liverpool and Real Madrid have so many big meetings in Champions League. Two finals with which Liverpool both failed against Real Madrid. After a final meeting in the past season, now they will have another one, at round of 16, not a final match.

Liverpool will have Cody Gakpo from PSV and he will help their attacking a lot when many players like Diaz, Jota were injured. Unfortunately, he will not be able to play for Liverpool in Champions League.

Gakpo had matches for PSV in Champions League 2022 - 2023 already.

Liverpool isn't really in a good form this season but this also may be a good thing for them for this match because the only thing left for them is the champions league, they lost the hop for getting the EOL title and they already out of the curabao cup so i believe they will put all the their efforts to Keep playing for the champoins league
they also signed Gakpo who can add a lot to the team, they might have started a little bad this season but they can pop off out of nowhere again, they have quality players to do so, and they are a team that i can never count them out of the race.

Real madrid might have a tough game against liverpool but remember if madrid as a very good mentality in UCL. I think even liverpool will become a difficult opponent for madrid and im sure that if madrid will be winning the match.
Madrid must defend its title for this season. I believe madrid can do that so well without any problem. Madrid has a chance to win UCL again. Madrid will have some starting line up in january.
It will make madrid even stronger than before.

Bookie give Real Madrid 13 odds to win Champions League, for me surprise that bookie give 10 odds on Liverpool they think Liverpool have more chance than RM, and Liverpool so bad this season

If Mbappe wants to be compared to Messi or Ronaldo, he has to leave PSG. The league is too weak and league titles there are meaningless.

He wants to go to Madrid, but I feel that the Messi/Ronaldo kind of rivalry will happen between him and Haaland. I hope we see them in the same league soon (preferably Premiership).

The thing with Ronaldo and Messi is also that they lasted 15+ years on an elite, record-breaking levels.
Mbappe and Haaland have just started, they have to play at the same level they are playing now throughout their whole careers to be able to compare to either one of them.
It doesn't sound appropriate to say that France league 1 is too weak for mbappe, I quest you must have your reason for that. But in my own opinion, I don't see it that way because, out of the top 50  known football leagues in the world, France league one ranks 8th. With this, the word "meaningless" is quite too awkward to describe such a league title. For the past few years, PSG has never missed out in any European title race, and they currently have the most league one championship. Though can't compare them to Real Madrid, they are capable of helping Mbappe reach his goal.

I don't think the french league is such a weak league because I have heard several person sat the same. The french league is just spectacular in its own way. We already see a rivalry coming up between Haaland and Mbappe who are the current best attackers in the world now and as time goes by it will grow into something bigger and I'm sure it will push them to do better just as it worked with Ronaldo and Messi.

Both teams have important star names. So clearly one team is not ahead. In my opinion, Paris SG looks far superior thanks to its offensive power. They have an offensive line made up of the best players from the Argentina, France and Brazil national teams. This makes them stand out. However, Bayern Munich is not a simple team and if they put their strength on the field, they have a chance to win the match.
Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, it's something any coach of the two might explore.
PSG's strengths so far have been evenly distributed across the pitch, but I tend to think they haven't been able to control enough when under pressure. I've seen them fail in this way several times in the decider like they did in the last 2 seasons, and now they need to learn. We know Bayern Munich's strength even though they aren't too favored, but PSG must be very careful if they want to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The difference between Real Madrid and the other big title contenders is that Real Madrid don't need to change their squad very often. Because they are still able to win the Champions League thanks to the right game strategies they have had so far. Real Madrid have been managed by completely fitting managers so far and this has helped them stay strong like every season. You know that Real Madrid have signed Tchouameni and Rüdiger in the previous transfer window and that was all in fact.

They are still fighting strongly not only in the La Liga but also the Champions League. They are one of the dangerous title contenders here as always. Manchester City and PSG are fighting for their first titles but they had better be careful about not being eliminated by Real Madrid again.

Real Madrid has been very consistent since last season's champions league. They signed a few quality players in the past transfer window but I am not sure the club is as strong as it was last season. The clubs seem to have over-relied on Karim Benzema his absence is greatly felt. Borja Mayoral and Juanmi Latasa are very good strikers that could fill the gap but currently, they are not capable of replacing the world's best player. The lack of a natural and effective goalscorer might be their biggest undoing. I don't Real Madrid making it to the semifinals of the UCL.

I am predicting that an English club or Napoli might be the winner of this competition. Most of the English teams that qualified except Chelsea are in good shape. I am also considering Napoli because of their performance before the world cup which was one of the best in the club's history. They are still unbeaten in the Italian Serie A.

Newcastle are doing well this season but I'm not sure if the can win the Champions League or even the Premier league because their other strong teams that are more solid I'm performance than newcastle.  Their is no doubt about Newcastle improvement,  it may not be easy to get the Champions league.
We will soon see Newcastle appear in the Champions League after showing the best form in the Premier League. Newcastle is struggling to finish in the top four to take a place to play in the Champions League next season, as a newcomer to the most competitive league on European soil, it is very difficult for Newcastle to immediately win the UCL trophy. It takes a process for Newcastle to go further in the UCL, it takes a team balance and being able to compete with other top teams to become champions in the UCL.

Newcastle's revival has posed a threat to regular clubs in the Champions League, Newcastle's rise has posed a threat to regular Champions League clubs, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are still outside the Champions League zone in the Premier League standings. We may not see one or all three of these teams in the Champions League next season if Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle and Tottenham manage to maintain their positions in the top four in the table.

I don't think that any team that qualifies for the Round of 16 should be underestimated. Especially a team like Tottenham. They are sitting at the fourth place of the Premiership and I'm sure that Milan won't have an easy game against them.
Actually, in the knockout phase this time, Tottenham has quite an advantage because they will face Milan. Even though we know that Milan is a subscriber to the Champions League, their condition is not very good now.
There are many internal problems that they haven't solved until now so it's a little complicated for them. On the other hand, Conte clearly knows what tactics to use when he meets a Serie A team and some of their new players are quite good, this is clearly a very differentiating thing for Milan.

I am not entirely sure that core Barcelona has would be enough. Like players such as pedri, gavi, dembele, de jong, ansu fati, etc etc these are good players but they will never be at the levels of the times when xavi, iniesta and messi played which means that they are not going to get the same championships and titles neither.
I believe it will be difficult, and perhaps impossible for Dembele, Pedri and Gavi to match the same achievements as Messi, Xavi and Iniestas, and I wouldn't compare either. But I think when Barcelona has more faith in its academy players than a lot of non-academiy players then success can be expected. At the moment Barcelona is on another level, but of course the philosophy of the game is almost the same. Xavi gives a different touch because basically he is developing something great from his young players like Pedri and Gavi in midfield. They didn't have much experience yet, but if both of them held on for the long term then surely the level would be better.

Currently, Ansu Fati, who was expected to be able to contribute a lot, apparently failed to meet expectations. He's still young and maybe Xavi doesn't want to push him while giving him a chance to develop. This can be done through hard training because Ansu Fati is still unable to compete with Ferran and the others.

Being in the champions league spot this season will be something very hard to attain this season in England,we now have a big six, probably a big seven or eight and no longer a big six, because so many teams have joined the elite teams.England is so tough and competitive, most teams dive in the transfer window to sign players in England, and that gives them an ample opportunity to challenge the elite teams in England.
Now we have Mancity,Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea,Manchester United, Tottenham, and now Newcastle. The later have surprised me this season, losing just one and drawing either four which makes them sit third on the league table. Qualifying for the champions league spot this season will be a hard nut to crack, and I'm sure with the way Newcastle are playing,I am optimistic they will qualify.
Newcastle have played very well this season but i have still doubt on them qualifying for the champions league. Despite the position that they sit currently now in the premier league table, i just feel that before the season is going to end i just feel like their are going to miss out on the champion league spot. The premier is about to kick off the second half of the season  today and Newcastle will be facing an inform Leicester side which will poss a big threat today for Newcastle to win. I think Newcastle and Leicester game is going to be a draw game today.
There are still quite a lot of games now and as for qualifying or not I think it's still a very good achievement for Newcastle this season to make a splash.
Even though there are many who still doubt Newcastle's current condition, but I think with their current performance, don't be too sure about their condition, they won't finish in the top 4 because the chances are still big, but even if it doesn't happen in the top 6, replacing Leicester's position, I think that's also very good for them.

Real madrid owes the CL title last season to Benzema. She has already helped her to victory from a beaten position a few times. But we shouldn't sell the other Real Madrid players short because of that, they have a great team. Without Modric, the world would also look very different for Real Madrid. Since ramos left the back to PSG, it also seems to be a bit more vulnerable and they do get the necessary goals here and there. But that depends on the type of game they play. Things can go either way against Liverpool, I find it difficult to point out a clear favorite there.

It is interesting to see that there are still people who think that it was all just luck about Real Madrid's Champions League title in the previous season.

even if I was a hater of Real Madrid and I wouldn't have said that, it¹s not like this Real Madrid's first time winning the CL, they proved it multiple times that they are the kings of this trophy, on the other hand we see other teams like Man City and PSG with top notch players fail multiple seasons in a row.
Madrid has been winning UCL 14 times. There's no need to response those people. Madrid has been telling us about the truth if that was a club that has been dominating UCL and AC milan was on the second position 7 times winning UCL trophies and those dumb people may still call madrid only lucky enough to win 14 times UCL trophies in a row.
In the UCL we have seen many teams on the rise and that have managed to position themselves very well in the competition, but it is as they say, Madrid has 14 big ears, and the truth is that the level that Real Madrid has shown in football has been superior to all the others. teams, because they won the UCL cup for a reason, it's not by chance, and they want to continue winning it and I think they can do it, because at the rate they continue to go, they can do it, however, I don't like to make predictions where after I have I have to hide my tongue, but if they continue with Ancelotti, they will hardly lose, they would have to have a very bad game and lose due to very bad luck, which is something that happens a lot.

However, things at the player level move to another level:

Real Madrid player’s transfer chances hurt by Atletico Madrid exit

Quote
Real Madrid do not have much depth in certain positions on the pitch. One of them is striker. Karim Benzema is a world-class player and the reigning Ballon d’Or winner. But beyond him, there are no real cover options for Los Blancos, with Mariano Diaz the only other recognised forward in the squad and he seems completely out of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the moment.

Thus, Mariano leaving in January would not be a blow for Real Madrid, especially with Ancelotti preferring to use Rodrygo in a false nine role.
