I think it is a deserved title for Benzema especially this photo brought up here and in many football pages in social media where he is the last in that Real Madrid time and after all the other players have moved away it was his time to shine.Of course mostly this prestigious title goes to some player who has won the Champions League and I think this was the factor that weighted in the jury decision without removing anything to Benzema.

For Lewandoski the performance going from Bayern to Barcelona has been more on the downside than in the upside and this was expected so I doubt anyone was waiting for Lewandoski to win this title.

This is something that is appropriate because regardless of the names in the top 10, Benzema is indeed one of the best there.
Being a champion in the Champions League and mastering La Liga last season clearly makes Benzema deserve to be in the top row, especially with his individual achievements by being the Top Scorer, adding to his eligibility for Benzema.
For Lewandowski it looks like he will not be like last season when Messi got first place in the Ballon d'Or because he is aware of his achievements last season.
As for Haaland he is good but can't do much at Dortmund but I'm sure for next season he can compete.

@CryptopreneurBrainboss for that to happen first he has to move to a better league preferably La Liga or the Premier League, because staying at PSG he’s not going to win it. Furthermore I feel that Halland has a better chance of winning than Mbappe, and this season Halland can definitely win it because he’s in terrific form and I feel that he can easily score 30 - 40+ goals by the end of this season.

Last year FIFA and France Football disappointed most football fans when they announced that Lionel Messi was the winner of the 2021 Ballon d'Or. Although they defended their actions it was glaring that Robert Lewandowski the Polish prolific striker was the right person for that award. Robert had an outstanding season and everyone was just waiting for the announcement. Karim Benzema deserves this award in all reification and I want to appreciate the organizers of this award for not denying him this farewell gift.

Yeah, I called it a farewell package because I don't think Benzema would ever play to the standard he achieved last season. Age and injury might be his undoing this season. But he deserves all the accolades because he achieved this feat at 34 because of hard work, and determination.
