Do you feel something like, in the past years like in the 2000 or 2010 the group phase have some doubt about which team hi gonna pass into the 16 round?, and now its more like we already know the 2 teams who are gonna be in the 16 round, without so much effort?

This year only one group its difficult to know, and that its the PSG MILAN, NEWCASTLE, DORTMUND.

Well, this is the champions league and there are no guarantees; there will be upsets and lots of it too! just like Barcelona dropping to europa league last season. In addition; the Arsenal group is also difficult, very difficult as all four teams are underdogs in the group. The Manchester United group with Bayern is also a top tier group; no guarantees at all, all clubs have to earn their rights to the next stages.
At first glance, it seems that there are two clubs that are more dominant and two clubs that are a little weaker. This means that overall almost all groups have the same composition, only slightly different in group F. However, I think the Champions League is always full of surprises, meaning that the favorite club also has the potential to fail in the group phase.

The habit of busy schedules due to the many competitions is one factor, followed by injuries to key players and card accumulation. Clubs from the EPL face this kind of situation more often, due to the tough and competitive culture of the league.

when we think optimistically there will definitely be slight changes for Sevilla after the return of Ramos to the Sevilla line up to try their luck with the performance he has to help Sevilla to qualify for the preliminary round. and if we think realistically, of course we know that every player who is a little old will definitely experience a decrease in performance, even though in the past, when Ramos did not join another team, he still did his own training, but in terms of stamina, it has decreased and in the UCL there are many young players from other teams that have far more stable performances such as Arsenal players. well, even though Sevilla will be able to appear perfect on the field because of Ramos they will have to compete with Arsenal who for me will be a challenger that will make it difficult for Sevilla to qualify for the next round.
We all know that Sergio Ramos is a great leader. So probably he will be able to lead the squad properly. The way they are performing right now does feel like they need a good leader. Sometimes having a great coach and also having a good squad might not play properly, if the leader is not a strong-minded one. And I think Sergio Ramos might be able to fill up that void.

And we are obviously not going to expect too many incredible and special performances from Ramos. He is obviously quite old now. He is not the player that he was when he was in his prime. I know that a lot of people are thinking this is going to make the team go further in the Champions League competition. But I really do not think that is actually going to happen.

@Minecache I personally don’t expect Ramos to fix Sevilla’s defences because he’s not in his prime anymore hence at best he can share his experience and groom other defenders but besides that I don’t expect him to do much especially in the Champions League. Furthermore I have said it before and I’ll say it again that I won’t be surprised if Sevilla get themselves knocked back to the Europa League because they have crazy luck in that tournament and they just can’t stop winning it.

I actually never thought I would say this in my lifetime. But I think Sergio Ramos is definitely starting to care about his health. Now he does not make some tackles that he would have made when he was in his prime.

I wouldn’t say that he is someone who is going to absolutely be a one-man army in the defense. I will say that he is someone who will be reliable and his experience will be a good helping hand for the other players. Especially the younger ones. I just hope that the young players do not start tackling the opponent like crazy when Sergio Ramos starts playing for the team  Cheesy. But in all seriousness, I do not think he will be able to help the team a lot when we are talking about the Champions League competition.

I do. It's probably due to the massive spend from the big clubs. I rarely saw massive transfers happened in the past. This time is far different, as the big clubs were always chasing the best players from the low or mid tier clubs.
It makes the richest club will have the strongest squad in the UCL compared with the club that was at the midtable of league. It's quite easy to predict which clubs is gonna be qualified for the play off.
The only things that makes it difficult once we faced a group with equal teams.

This year only one group its difficult to know, and that its the PSG MILAN, NEWCASTLE, DORTMUND.
I may have also another group that is quite difficult to predict like arsenal, lens, sevilla and psv. This group is still very hard to predict even though some clubs like sevilla and lens still have horrible performance.
The big clubs were always dominating the league now. The small club could do nothing to prevent it.

Frankly, I don't have high expectations from Sevilla either. They are not assertive in La Liga, and they joined UCL with their European cup win. If it wasn't for that quota, he wouldn't even be able to join the conference league. If I remember correctly, they finished in 12th place in the season.
Sevilla only used the route through the Europa League to get to the Champions League this season so there is no need to have very high hopes for it and I also think that Sevilla will have a little difficulty qualifying for the group stage this time. Because in Group B, which is occupied by Sevilla, there are two quite strong teams there, namely Arsenal and PSV, so Sevilla needs to work hard to qualify and hope for good luck for themselves.

On matchday 1, there are 2 match highlights that are definitely interesting for me to look forward to, namely Milan vs Newcastle and PSG vs Dortmund.
Regarding history and teams performance right now in their domestic leagues, I find AC Milan better than Newcastle and PSG better than Dortmund. I might say Newcastle United might pick a draw in their away match but I doubt Dortmund could do the same, the best they can in that case is to try to keep goal difference as low as possible.

Meanwhile, on matchday 2 I am interested in watching Madrid vs Union Berlin, Arsenal vs PSV, Bayern Munich vs Manchester United, and Sevilla vs Lens.
Real Madrid is better than Union Berlin and should win that match. Arsenal could do it as well.
For Sevilla and Lens, both are doing horribly in their leagues and I fail to think which one will play miserably than the others..

With quite an entertaining schedule between all the games I'm looking forward to Bayern Munich's debut against Man United.
This game is quite hard to calculate. Bayern Munich is okay while Manchester United isn't that stable right now. Everything could happen, I think Bayern Munich will win but I wouldn't be surprised with a draw too.

Manchester United is not in their best form this season. But this does not mean that they will not be able to qualify from their Champions League group matches. They will qualify but definitely behind Bayern Munich. For the fact that Manchester United is not in their top form is why I am keeping them in the second position because if they are in good form, they will be able to bring Bayern Munich down. This does not mean that Bayern Munich should relax that they will be at the top of the table because them themselves are not also good this season. So Manchester United might challenge them for the top one of the group.

We can say that Manchester United may get points with Bayern Munich since is a game and everyone might end up with a point, but seeing Manchester United, I don't think they are that much strong to defeat Bayern Munich. They are going to face Bayern Munich in their first match from that group stage, and I'm not that sure they can be able to win the match and get point. They played very poorly in their most recent games—in the Premier League, for goodness' sake—and now that we're talking about the Champions League, how do you think Manchester United will defeat Bayern Munich? In my opinion, even if all of their players were strong, they couldn't beat Bayern with their current form. In that group stage, I only think they'll be able to get points against Copenhagen—even beating Galatasaray will be very hard for them.

A match that will be difficult for United, while the team is not stable and at the same time several core players are absent due to injury. the absence of several United defenders will be a problem for Erik Ten Hag's squad. also, Ten Hag has not found a game system to his liking, his duet Casemiro and Eriksen as pivots did not go well. Antony, has not shown his best game. As for the center forward, we don't know who Ten Hag will play in the match against Bayern. whether Marcus Rashford, Martial who is difficult to rely on, or Ten Hag will experiment with playing Hojlund as the main starter.
My guess is that Ten Hag will not use a 4-2-3-1 system, maybe he will use 4-1-4-1, or another system. even so, United can not be underestimated. Erik Ten Hag's squad has a mainstay when carrying out a deadly counterattack. The strategy, Ten Hag will let Bayern control the ball possession. But, these are just my assumptions and speculations while, we don't even know what Manchester United will be planning. but what is certain, on paper Bayern is superior.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's squad is better prepared to carry out match after match both in domestic competition and in the Champions League compression. I just hope, this match will offer an exciting match for us as football lovers to enjoy.

Yes, I must say that she was super lucky at the group stage. He took teams that are very easy to manage.
I think of the poor teams that happened with her, they will have a lot to do to survive the group stage.
Let`s hope at least there are good matches. Do you know if this season is also included on Prime video?
Yes, that's right. I think it's indeed lucky for Manchester City, but even though the group is full of clubs whose abilities may be brought to the average, Manchester City certainly won't underestimate them, because just look at yesterday's World Cup match as an example, who would have thought Morocco can reach the semifinals, where not all national teams from other countries are able to reach it, the same is the case with this UCL.

I think they are fighting hard to get a UCL ticket even though Manchester city can beat them, I think they will make it difficult too later, I'm sure even though in that group there is Munich and Madrid of course Manchester city will not underestimate them even though they have beaten both of them in the UCL season Then, there are always surprises in the UCL so don't underestimate them, at least Manchester City can focus on the EPL too and target another treble winner.
Actually there is one challenger club from the same group, namely Leipzig which will be a strong challenger to Manchstr City even though Leipzig is not too strong in the bundesliga but Leipzig usually surprisingly will improve its performance in the champions league and this is very natural like Leipzig will try to try to win matches and qualifying from the preliminary round even though it is very hard to have to fight City but nothing is impossible.

Even if that's the case, they still have a chance to currently be in the Champions League at least to qualify in the group phase.
Indeed there is Arsenal but looking at PSV and Lens I think they can compete in the 2nd place of the group phase even they can also compensate for Arsenal in this case. Sevilla sometimes surprise in European competition and last season was proof that they surprised everyone by winning the Europa Legaue.

In addition, with their destruction in La Liga now it cannot be a guarantee that they are also bad in the Champions League because Sevilla is a Champions League subscription and they can focus on the Champions League and qualify for the Knock out Phase later.

I think Manchester City is the best team in the Champions League so far. Because this team managed to win two trophies last season and won another trophy earlier this season. All things considered, they are self-confident. As such, Manchester City has the potential to perform well in the Champions League this time.
Really bro?  Huh
I'm discussing Sevilla here who are in group B with Arsenal, PSV and Lens.
When moving directly to Manchester City wouldn't this be too lame? On the other hand, I think everyone also knows that Manchester City is the best club at the moment and is still a strong candidate with their defending champion status so things like this are no longer up for debate.
Even though it is still within the scope of discussing the Champions League and Manchester City is also in it, I think you need to read further so that your post is not looked down upon because my previous discussion went too far from the answer you gave.

I know the group stage stage matches are still around 2 weeks away and the champions league have released the match list. We can see that there will be several big matches on matchday 1, of course these are matches that everyone is really looking forward to. On matchday 1, September 19, immediately presented with two matches from the hell group, bringing together Milan vs Newcastle and PSG vs Dortmund. Meanwhile, from matchday 1 on September 20, there was a big match from group A bringing together Bayern Muchen vs Manchester United. Of course we can't wait to watch this match but we have to be patient first because there will be an international break. Do you have any other favorite matches that are worth looking forward to on matchday 1?
Am happy to see the gunners back in the Champions league after much failed campaigns.
No doubt the match am looking forward to is Arsenal vs PSV and Bayern Munich Vs Manchester United.
It would be lovely to see Harry Kane in his new colors playing against a familiar English side he had played against with his former club Tottenham.
Hopefully he would make the match that day full with anticipation and on-the-edge, finger-nail-biting experience.

The Gunners are very welcome to the Champions Leagues. There have been so many great games in the past between them and other high level teams. They have been feared for some time although they were never really able to get the title. But still the times when Thierry Henry played for them will forever be unforgotten. They have been playing spectacular soccer and they deserve their place in the Champions League again. There chances to make it to the next round are quite big unless they make huge mistakes during the group stage.

The reason is that Bayern Munich has Kane as well as a player who has experience against Man United. It's a shame that Tottenham didn't qualify for the UCL because if they did then Kane against Tottenham would definitely be more exciting.

I want to know which team you mean and even if you see the composition of the group we can analyze the two teams that will pass easily to the last 16. The Champions League is known to be very competitive compared to the domestic league and there are also many surprises that will occur if one of the teams does not prepare carefully. My point is that the match schedule for all competitions makes the condition of the players exhausted and if they don't have a substitute who is equivalent to a core player it will affect the results of the match in the Champions League because the coach will be quite difficult to rotate a number of players.

Group F became one of the most challenging groups where there were representatives of France (PSG), Italy (Milan), England (Newcastle) and Germany (Dortmund). These four teams will fight to qualify for the next round and because there are only two teams that will qualify, I prefer PSG and Milan as group and runner-up champions. Even if you look at the quality and players of Newcastle, I don't think they can be considered weak because they could be one of the dark horses in Group F.

Maybe last season, or rather last season's success happened earlier than they had planned? And despite the fact that the club qualified for the Champions League, the management is not ready to change long-term plans because of this. And it's too early to judge whether it's reasonable or not - we have an example of Chelsea which spends a lot of money but achieves absolutely nothing.
Yes and I am not saying that Newcastle is making a big mistake here, but I think they could have been a bit more bold in the transfer market. The means are there and maybe they are throwing away some momentum now if they fail hard this season and so far it isn't looking good. It's still not catastrophic, but we know how quickly this can develop into a whole that they can't dig their way easily out of.
I don't know how profitable Newcastle is at the moment and how much financial margin they had, maybe you are right and they should have built on their success. But we don't know what's in the head of management, so it's hard to judge. Maybe they just want to be profitable first and see everything else as a bonus (the Arsenal model that seemed to never really start fighting for titles again and would just keep making money on transfers).
Right now, financial situation is not bad at the Newcastle United with they are back into top 15 clubs of the world after change of management and having place into Champions League give them good backup even right now we have no official statements about profit or loses, but they are doing good work with management is having long term plan for the bringing this club at the top of UEFA clubs.

But we have still few wired things which was not expected because as they were qualified for the Champions League we have few rumors about transfers like Neymar and Mbappé were also in limelight but suddenly all ends without any solid buying for this big event, and now they are having the toughest group as well which is surely not ideal situation, but we can expect good performance from them with right now they are having three matches losing streak in Premier League.

All the team in the same group with Manchester City are no match to the Manchester City team. Even the Manchester City second 11 will be able to win and qualify from that group. I am expecting Manchester City to qualify with maximum point in that group. In fact, Manchester City does not deserve that group. If there should be any club in England that I would offer that group.

This is clearly almost everyone's view of the Manchester City group stage matches, to pick up a maximum of points, However, this is a Champions League game, where we usually see unexpected happen and even though they are in form and currently the defending champions, is likely not gonna happen, at least the possibility of picking up a draw during their entire group stage games is something that cannot be disregard.
All possibilities can occur unexpectedly, the player's injury factor could have hampered Manchester City's progress in the group stage. Manchester City is very lucky to be able to join a group filled with teams whose squad depth is lower than theirs, the majority of football fans think Manchester City will get through the group stage easily. But back to the condition of the team, let alone the FIFA virus could have infected the Manchester City squad. RB Leipzig is one of the teams that can compete with Manchester City, but their quality is still below Manchester City.

Manchester City is really into easy group because they only will faced Leipzig, Red Star and Young Boys so we all know Manchester City squad quality is far above to these teams and certainly they will advances to the next stage with smoothly because possibly Manchester City will beat all of them and on the paper Leipzig is became an the second team who possibly will qualified but they have bad experience when they met Manchester City last season because on round of 16 Leipzig has been humiliated by Manchester City with huge scores 7-0 and i am sure they have ambition want to get revenge but i think it will be very hard because Manchester City currently as one of the strongest team in Europa and not much team who can able to beat them

Newcastle is a now a big team in England and also in Europe ever since they were bought by the Saudi Arabia Prince they became a team to be feared. This is their first time to be in the champions league for over more than 25 years or 30 years where they have not been there. They are in group F and it is not going to be easy for them because of the likes of Paris Saint Germain , Dortmund, 7 times winners AC Milan, Their group is super strong and they will need to excellently perform to top the group.
