Frankly, I don't have high expectations from Sevilla either. They are not assertive in La Liga, and they joined UCL with their European cup win. If it wasn't for that quota, he wouldn't even be able to join the conference league. If I remember correctly, they finished in 12th place in the season.
Even if that's the case, they still have a chance to currently be in the Champions League at least to qualify in the group phase.
Indeed there is Arsenal but looking at PSV and Lens I think they can compete in the 2nd place of the group phase even they can also compensate for Arsenal in this case. Sevilla sometimes surprise in European competition and last season was proof that they surprised everyone by winning the Europa Legaue.

In addition, with their destruction in La Liga now it cannot be a guarantee that they are also bad in the Champions League because Sevilla is a Champions League subscription and they can focus on the Champions League and qualify for the Knock out Phase later.

I think Manchester City is the best team in the Champions League so far. Because this team managed to win two trophies last season and won another trophy earlier this season. All things considered, they are self-confident. As such, Manchester City has the potential to perform well in the Champions League this time.

I will add here the reward system used in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League when they enter and when they advance in each stage.
Playing Europa League only will guarantee around €40m when lifting the Cup if I am not mistaken which is the equivalent of reaching the Quarter-finals in Champions League. Obviously if this seems to be a hard mission then jumping to Europa League might be a better solution.

I will add that this is only half the pie for the Champions League. The second half of the pie is distributed based on the club's historical success in the tournament (over the last 10 years, it seems) and the total amount almost doubles for such tops as Real Madrid (it seems they have held first place for several years in a row and why we all know well hehe). So if Real Madrid and, for example, Newcastle play in the final of this Champions League, they will receive amounts that will vary greatly (about 2 times).

All the team in the same group with Manchester City are no match to the Manchester City team. Even the Manchester City second 11 will be able to win and qualify from that group. I am expecting Manchester City to qualify with maximum point in that group. In fact, Manchester City does not deserve that group. If there should be any club in England that I would offer that group.

This is clearly almost everyone's view of the Manchester City group stage matches, to pick up a maximum of points, However, this is a Champions League game, where we usually see unexpected happen and even though they are in form and currently the defending champions, is likely not gonna happen, at least the possibility of picking up a draw during their entire group stage games is something that cannot be disregard.
That is also another face of this whole situation and it is a correct analysis. I have never been that type of football lover that disregards any club that comes to the Champions League. I did not disregard them in as much as they are in the Champions League. They can be able to pull a wonder that we do not understand.
But when you are talking about Manchester City team under Guardiola, those people are in a very different level of football. So if there are people that will give them wonders and unexpected defeat, it should be clubs like Real Madrid. Bayern Munich other clubs from England, but with what I saw in the Manchester City group, non of them can destabilise Manchester City

It is not so important to see Manchester City struggle a tiny little bit during the group stage. A discussion whether they can get into trouble in their group or not makes more sense when their round of 16 qualification could be at risk, but this is impossible I think. That would be the craziest surprise the Champions League has ever, I think really ever seen when Manchester City were to fail to qualify for the next round.

Maybe RB Leipzig can tie a game against them at home, but Red Star Belgrade no, I mean even if they managed to tie a game against Manchester City, it would still need two teams to overall perform better during the group stage and that's not going to happen. I wonder whether bookies offer the option to bet against Manchester to qualify for the next round in this group. Tongue

Manchester United is not in their best form this season. But this does not mean that they will not be able to qualify from their Champions League group matches. They will qualify but definitely behind Bayern Munich. For the fact that Manchester United is not in their top form is why I am keeping them in the second position because if they are in good form, they will be able to bring Bayern Munich down. This does not mean that Bayern Munich should relax that they will be at the top of the table because them themselves are not also good this season. So Manchester United might challenge them for the top one of the group.

We can say that Manchester United may get points with Bayern Munich since is a game and everyone might end up with a point, but seeing Manchester United, I don't think they are that much strong to defeat Bayern Munich. They are going to face Bayern Munich in their first match from that group stage, and I'm not that sure they can be able to win the match and get point. They played very poorly in their most recent games—in the Premier League, for goodness' sake—and now that we're talking about the Champions League, how do you think Manchester United will defeat Bayern Munich? In my opinion, even if all of their players were strong, they couldn't beat Bayern with their current form. In that group stage, I only think they'll be able to get points against Copenhagen—even beating Galatasaray will be very hard for them.

You are right but for group G it is clear that in any way Man City will find it easier to get maximum points and that cannot be denied. Meanwhile, RB Leipziq, Crvena and Young Boys must compete to occupy the Runner Up position. So for Man City the group stage process will not be a problem.

With the return of Sergio Ramos, I hope Sevilla can be motivated to keep giving their best. Instead of getting a big offer from the Saudi Arabian club, Ramos decided to return to Sevilla and try to strengthen his defense while encouraging this club to be more competitive in the Champions League competition. Even though I'm a little doubtful, they only need point security from PSV and Lens.

Sevilla can still qualify because I am quite optimistic about their game which can always provide surprises. Moreover, the club in Group B that we need to watch out for the most is Arsenal, while PSV and Lens can still be overcome by Sevilla in terms of games on the field. I will not doubt the mentality of the Sevilla players. Sevilla, which always subscribes to the Europa League trophy, is now starting to want to try bigger opportunities. Even though currently in La Liga the results are quite surprising where a total of 3 matches have never won though.
Lance started the season very badly, maybe even worse than Sevilla, so we can assume that Sevilla will have a chance to continue their participation in the LE. Whether they can be better than PSV, I don’t know, maybe there are chances. I think Arsenal will get the first place in this group, and Sevilla and PSV will fight for the second and third places, that's my forecast. Despite the fact that Sevilla play poorly in La Liga, they know how to surprise in euro cups.
I can't forget in the Europe League Sevilla won the title while they didn't have many good players and they won the games against the teams with much better situations. This time against Sevilla is lucky because they are in the group with teams like Lance and PSV while we know the other group is much stronger than this one
It's not surprising to see even Sevilla get to the next stage in this Champions League.

The Sevilla team also played in the Champions league last season.  But their performance in the Champions League was very poor. Even in La liga this team could not play well in the last season. Their only goal was the Europa league title. And finally the team was able to secure the Europa League title. Despite performing well in the Europa League, the team's performance in the La Liga and Champions league was poor. I think we will see the same thing this season. I wouldn't expect much from this team in Champions League or La Liga. Sevilla know very well that they will not have much advantage in the Champions League. Their goal will be the Europa League title this season as well.

Sevilla's level is still far from UCL. Even though this club was able playing in UCL but the result will always be the same. Being able to compete in UCL is already a huge achievement for sevilla. I don't even put a lot of hope for this club.
Sevilla needs more than a miracle to go to the play off stage with the current squad. Although I don't want to be pessimistic about Sevilla's performance, it's necessary to consider the possibility that they might be in a less-than-ideal situation presently and we should take that into account.

I would like to value qualifed for UCL play off is a higher achievement compared with winning europa league. It's caused by sevilla is in financial crisis and the club in the needs of money to solve that.
After defeating AS Roma in the final of last season's UEFA Europa League competition, I was thinking Sevilla were gonna build on that result and have a better campaign than they had last season but they've started the season worse than they did last season by not getting a point from their first three Spanish La Liga games of the season.
Sergio Ramos who started his professional football career with the club just returned to his boyhood club and will definitely want to help the team to win games and trophies but if the team doesn't improve generally, there's nothing one player can do for them. The UEFA Champions League football returns shortly after the FIFA international break so Sevilla must significantly improve if they want to have a good European Cup season.

Manchester City is really into easy group because they only will faced Leipzig, Red Star and Young Boys so we all know Manchester City squad quality is far above to these teams and certainly they will advances to the next stage with smoothly because possibly Manchester City will beat all of them and on the paper Leipzig is became an the second team who possibly will qualified but they have bad experience when they met Manchester City last season because on round of 16 Leipzig has been humiliated by Manchester City with huge scores 7-0 and i am sure they have ambition want to get revenge but i think it will be very hard because Manchester City currently as one of the strongest team in Europa and not much team who can able to beat them

It should be Newcastle United. But it's not been favourable as it ought to be. Newcastle United got the deadliest group while Manchester City who is supposed to be in the deadliest group now got the easiest group in the Champions League.

I am not a Newcastle United fan, but my prayer always go for them to qualify from the group matches even if it seems impossible.

Since there are no other strong teams in the group Manchester City is in, I believe it to be the easiest group in the group stage. None of the other teams in the group can defeat Manchester City, so I believe Manchester City still has a chance to win another champion league this year. Manchester City is a very strong team with every position a team needs. Manchester City is the best team in the Premier League with no positional issues, and this has helped them win every game they have played this season and remain at the top of the league standings.

I don't believe there will be another team that can win the Premier League this season besides Manchester City, because based on the team's performance, you can tell that they are willing to go above and beyond to win the league once more. Let's take a look at how they have defeated their opponents this season, especially their striker player Haaland, who has started to score goals like a machine and scored three goals in their most recent game.

With their inconsistency and poor strategy in early matches of this season look like it's never been easy for them to have given their best into Champions League as well because they are trying to have better spot in Premier League instead of this Champions League, but I have to agree they will be behind Bayern Munch but can this go through from the challenge of Galatasaray it's never been easy for them because Turkish club is also doing impressive job, and they are having few quality players which can create problems for them.

Now we have few days left in start of this event and all will be in front of us, but I am surprised with the start of this season from the Manchester United and feeling it's never been easy job for them to stay in top four in the Premier League with they have very few chances for the next round of Champions League as well.

Maybe last season, or rather last season's success happened earlier than they had planned? And despite the fact that the club qualified for the Champions League, the management is not ready to change long-term plans because of this. And it's too early to judge whether it's reasonable or not - we have an example of Chelsea which spends a lot of money but achieves absolutely nothing.

Yes and I am not saying that Newcastle is making a big mistake here, but I think they could have been a bit more bold in the transfer market. The means are there and maybe they are throwing away some momentum now if they fail hard this season and so far it isn't looking good. It's still not catastrophic, but we know how quickly this can develop into a whole that they can't dig their way easily out of.

I don't know how profitable Newcastle is at the moment and how much financial margin they had, maybe you are right and they should have built on their success. But we don't know what's in the head of management, so it's hard to judge. Maybe they just want to be profitable first and see everything else as a bonus (the Arsenal model that seemed to never really start fighting for titles again and would just keep making money on transfers).

I think what is striking here is the efficiency of the overall operative management at Newcastle United. In this article they said that by the end of the year 2022, the Newcastle investors had poured in around 450 million pounds in total, which I think is an amount that was really fruitful in terms of their results, especially when you compare that to recent Chelsea.

I am not sure how important the overall profitability is because when you take Chelsea as an example with their accounting shenanigans, it would have probably been possible for Newcastle as well to go big this Summer. But time will tell what their plan is. It kind of makes them a likable club because of their reasonable approach to building a solid Premier League club.

I would guess that Sevilla will not do that well at UCL anyway, so "focusing on UCL" is not something sevilla can really do, it is not going to help them in any case and it will not benefit them all that much neither. I think it should be important to keep it going one way or another.

I do believe that we are not going to end up with a good result, but that doesn't mean that league should be not cared about neither. League is the only thing they should care about, and if they are lucky they will be third at the group stages of UCL and go back to europa which they are good at anyway and they will be doing fine. That is the best way for them to move forward, the Europa win if they can, which is hard I know, and also league top four.

They appear to be in a poor form for the last three la Liga games player but they can still a quick turn around both in the league and then to the Champions League.
They are not the side they performs well during the Champions League, I can still remember Chelsea and Oliver Giroud scoring three goals to send them down the group stage.
Sevilla has appeared to be better while playing the europa league games to that of Champions League, but with Ramos around they can be very confident if getting far.
I do not believe that Ramos alone will take Sevilla to the next level. It affects the dynamics of the team positively, but I do not believe that he can carry Sevilla alone in the UCL groups. If they stay in the UEL again from the groups, it can be a nightmare for the UEL teams.

It will be a really comfortable group for Manchester City to qualify from as the leader. They are already the biggest favourite to win the title at the same time. According to the odds the first three favourites are like this:

1. Manchester City: 3.00
2. Bayern Munich: 6.50
3. Real Madrid: 9.00

Arsenal follow this trio right behind by 11.00 odds. However I don't feel like Arsenal can reach the finale. It depends on the draw of course but if he challenges especially one of the biggest favourites I think it will be the end of the road for Arsenal. By the way Kane's signing for Bayern Munich is also a big factor in Bayern Munich's being shown as the second biggest favourite.

Lens and Sevilla having same start of their respective seasons and things are looking not good with current performance and quality but as we have few updates about Sevilla which are good hopefully they will better side after this break but still with this all most chances they will be able to stay at the third spot and again jumping into Europa Cup because Arsenal and PSV both are leading from the front and have no space less than going into knockout stage.

Still these are just predictions as reality could be different from this all, but currently we have fair chance for them to be stood at third spot in their group and anything better could be miracle with the current performance and quality because they are facing many other issues as well.

Qualifying from the group phase to play in 16 rounds is enough for Leipzig, they don't need to struggle to beat Manchester City because City is indeed the strongest team at the moment and hard to beat, as long as they can beat the other two teams both home and away then they have enough points to be in second place and with Manchester City playing in Top 16.
Leipzig lost Gvardiol in this summer and with his importance for their defense, they will have weaker defense in this season. It has bigger impact in Champions League where they have to face with strong clubs in Europe like Manchester City than in Bundesliga where except Bayern Munich, Leipzig are not weaker than other clubs too much.

Quote
Manchester City is lucky with this draw because, throughout the group phase, they can focus more on continuing to win many matches in the English Premier League, or at least they can rotate players well.
As defending champions Manchester City will fight to reach the final, but when the draw for round 16 will also be quite decisive in my opinion, if they get another easy draw it will really help them, and favorite teams like Manchester City often get this convenience.
It is a lucky draw for Manchester City as it can help them to save a little energy for knock out phase as well as avoid injuries and suspensions on important players because of card quota. However, to defend their title, they have to play well in knock out phase and even with best players they have, without suspension, it's still a very challenging task for them.

Again in Champions League history, only Real Madrid succeeded to defend their Champions League crown.
