In the previous season, Barcelona failed in the group phase because they were unable to compete with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. I don't think that's happening again with them this season. At least it can reach the semifinals or more.

But this is a Barcelona that is so different from what any team was used to, Barcelona was this amazing champion that spoiled us. We thought that the level these guys delivered is the standard, but it wasn't.

One thing that we might not see again anytime soon was the balance that Barcelona had a decade ago between all lines in their squad. Usually a team has at least one weakness or a part in the team that the opponent identifies as a weakness, but when they had their prime time team back in the years with Guardiola, that was the time when they set expectations that are realistically almost impossible to be met later on. When Messi also left, it was expectable that they will be facing significant changes. They are now searching for amazing talents at a young age, but I think it is hard. They have had a few golden years with their own boys from La Masia.

Barcelona needs to try this season to go far in the Champions league because they need to also show that they are capable of lifting this trophy and not only Laliga. I don't think that it will be easy for them to lift the trophy since we have strong clubs like Real Madrid and Man City who will not easily give up on the race. Gundogan is a good player and his presence will add positive impact to the club's performance just like he did in Manchester city.

Barcelona will certainly be looking to do well in La Liga as well as the Champions League this season. However, whether they can maintain the consistency of performance, it is not yet known for sure. Much will depend on Xavi's match strategy. At the same time, Barcelona have a lot of young players in their squad. We don't know how they will perform.

My personal opinion is that Bayern Munich and Manchester City are the favorites to win the Champions League next season. Both these clubs have excellent squads and experienced coaches. Bayern Munich have been strengthened by the addition of Harry Kane to the squad. On the other hand, we are not sure if Real Madrid will do well in the Champions League. Barcelona don't seem to be included in this circle, I wonder why anyone still believes Barcelona will be a title candidate team in the Champions League this season. Because the fact is, that Barcelona in the last two seasons always failed in the Champions League. Hmm, I think at least half of the teams listed are nowhere near favourites. I don't think Barcelona are strong enough to even reach the semi-finals, just like Bayern, who are not in the best shape at the moment. Real Madrid are the kings of this tournament, there is no point in arguing against them. As far as I'm concerned, Manchester City are the favourites.

We all know that Barcelona has been in really bad financial troubles in the last few seasons. This has made a poor performance decline in various competitions including La Liga and also the Champions League. But since Xavi coached them, I think there is a good difference in quality at Barcelona even though they are not doing well in the Champions League.

Barcelona must be ready to face this elite competition this season after winning the La Liga title last season. I'm sure the quality of the current Barcelona team is better, but Xavi certainly expects something better to support his game. New players are needed to support the plan, but Xavi should be quite satisfied with the existing line-up given the team's current financial situation.

From watching Manchester United matches, I understand a lot that they want to correct their big mistakes and move forward. I hope the coach of the team will make the team stronger because traditional teams like Manchester United are not really fun to play football if they don't do well.

I much expected them to play better this season and their defeat against Tottenham was really one which was mind blowing and I never expected it seeing how they perform very in terms of performance and I also believe and trust in what you said that with time good adjustments will be made interns of their game play performance because if it's the standard of the team it's actually quite not bad at all

Manchester United defense line is actually comprised of really great centre-backs like Martinez and Varane. Therefore it wouldn't be fair to say that they have a bad defense. It must just be about being not ready for the new season yet. It isn't only the defense's fault that Manchester United see so many dangerous attacks in their half on the pitch.

Their midfield is also responsible for this of course. But this is only the beginning of the season. I believe they will get better in time. Manchester United were doing really good last season so they can reach that form again after some improvement. I can't wait to watch Hojlund also but he is still expected to be out for 1 more week.

I agree with this if Real get Mbappé then surely this is going to be one of the most entertaining season in Champions League because three-way race and big names are going to face each other but now things favoring clearly Manchester City and Bayern Munich even it's too early because we all know Champions League is event of surprises and unusual results so right now many things are possible, but now few teams are not balances and can face tough time in early rounds as well.

With most chances Mbappé is going to stay at PSG and Real Madrid has to live without him for another season but still they are on positive start and Bayern Munich and Manchester City are looking well balances with Harry Kane and Haaland.
