This is a poor defense when it comes to the champion league, can this defense stand against the Newcastle defense of last season (that are now going to play in the champions league). Barcelona isn't going to be among my pick for the tittle. They might just go out of the competition at an earlier stage and go to the Europa league as they did last season. They played well but Manchester city was just too good for them and also Pep Guardiola didn't allow his overthinking to make him to makes the type of mistakes he usually does in big games like that. The Manchester city teams were focus and they were determined to win, the Manchester city team were just superior this time around. They had the likes of Kevin de bruyne, Bernardo silver, Foden etc. The Manchester city squad had a lot of providers in their prime but Real Madrid had only old players that couldn't stand toe to toe with Manchester city. Manchester city had the most informed striker (although he didn't have much impact to the game) but his presence does a lot of damage to the opponents.

I disagree with your opinion about Mauro Icardi haven't good international performance with Argentina national teams, he was not lucky like Lionel Messi when consistent performance with Inter Milan never get called from national teams. Iccardi back to the top performance with loan status from PSG to Galatasaray and he was success scored 22 goals of 24 matches, seems Mauro Icardi consistent scoring one goal on every match for Galatasaray last season.

Second leg against Zalgiris has chance for Mauro Icardi scoring goals and help his teams qualifying to last round in UEFA Champion League qualifier phase, no doubt with Mauro Icardi performance and seems he has second chance become most promising player next season with Galatasary.

Icardi could become a legendary player in Inter Milan as he played for them many seasons and was their captain at his young ages. He also scored many goals for them and I feel very regret about their conflict and separation after all.

Icardi does not have good international career because Messi does not support him to be called for international duty with Argentina team. Icardi lets his personal life affects on his career a lot and now at his age, I believe he no longer has future with his national team. Blame their bad performance all on injuries is not correct as they did not have enough strong mentality and their quality is not good enough too. Getting the UCL title is not as easy as we all imagine because Barcelona needs a really mature game and can have good defense and attack in every game so as not to get knocked out like last season.

There is no way Barcelona are getting Mbappe in a swap deal like that. PSG want cash to let Mbappe go this summer already. Al-Hilal made a huge offer like 300 million euros for him. I don't think PSG would be okay for a cash plus player deal from now on. Aside from that let's say PSG are open for such deal as well Barcelona can't make a big signing right now. Even if their finances are good enough to meet Mbappe's demands FFP in the La Liga is a hindrance for them now.

If they were able to make such signing their priority would be to bring back Messi in the end.
