Last season, Manchester City won over Real Madrid and went straightly to their fist Champions League title. It is their first title in history and in total Champions League titles, Manchester City can not compare to Real Madrid but in this season, they are defending their title and want to repeat success of Real Madrid. Defending a title in Champions League is very challenging task and in history, only Real Madrid succeeded so far.
Manchester City's first UEFA Champions League final was against Chelsea, and they lost to Chelsea. Last season, Manchester City was better than Real Madrid, which made Manchester City easily beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Manchester City will find it difficult to win against Real Madrid in this season's UEFA Champions League because Real Madrid is more consistent than Manchester City this season.
The quarter-final match between Manchester City versus Real Madrid is actually difficult to predict, the history of previous matches cannot be used as a complete reference for assessing their future opportunities. The most crucial factor that can generally affect each team's chances is injuries to key players. Anyone who has a more complete squad can have a higher chance of winning a match. Consistency in the domestic league shows their resilience in facing every pressure, in the Champions League Manchester City and Real Madrid have to work harder to realize their ambitions.

In essence, Bayern Munich certainly still has a better experience in this Champions League compared to Arsenal. So yes, Bayern Munich's failure to win the Bundesliga trophy this season will certainly not make Bayern Munich pessimistic about the Champions League. Because after all, it is still very possible that with Bayern Munich's failure in the Bundesliga this season, it could be that Bayern Munich will really maximize their good chance and good results in the Champions League. Moreover, Bayern Munich currently has a goal machine like Harry Kane and thus, if this factor can really be maximized well then of course Bayern Munich can still promise victory against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals this season.

Talking about experience, the current Bayern Munich team has it more than Arsenal as they’ve been qualifying for the competition every season back to back been the top and team with most Bundesliga trophy which gives them an automatic qualification for the Champions League competition. Arsenal are also one of the most successful team recently having span across how they performed last season to make it to the champions league competition and still doing their best to remain consistent in their form. If it is about experience, Bayern Munich will have the victory but if it is about recent performance, they’ll have to share in that and the most skilled and qualitative team with best performance will have the chance to qualify over the other team. I am still not having a preferred team for this match yet, they both look great to pull their victory in this match.
Yes, of course these two teams have two different stories, Bayern Munich, which is a regular, will probably be the favorite in the quarter-final match against Arsenal. Meanwhile, Arsenal only has the fighting spirit that they continue to fuel every match. I see that these two teams have the same strength, but they will also both share their concentration on their domestic league, which will greatly determine their chances of winning. It will be interesting for us to wait for this match, because both teams are on different paths with the same expectations.

Agree. A player like Joselu still doesn't deserve to be the main striker for Real Madrid. He must be in the bench with that stats. Mbappe is much better than him, they are in a different level.

Real Madrid already planned for a long time to sign Mbappe as their main striker. Sadly, Real Madrid always got some obstacles to sign him. There were too many drama made by PSG to keep Mbappe in PSG. After this season ends, Mbappe contract expires and PSG has no chance to keep him anymore. So, we can assume Mbappe almost 100% to come to Real Madrid for the next season.

Of course, it will be good for Mbappe and Real Madrid. Mbappe will play in a better team, he will have the chance to win UCL with a strong team like Real Madrid. Meanwhile Real Madrid finally has a top striker (CF), Mbappe will be the machine goal of Real Madrid.

Source: goal.com

It’s clear that Joselu is no match for Mbappe; he was literally rented as a temporary option. By the way, this is an interesting turn in his career: before Real Madrid he did not have any titles at the club level, but now he already has the Spanish Cup + Super Cup and this season he will at least become the champion of La Liga. I don’t know if he will be able to return to Espanyol after such a takeoff. Considering that he is already 33 years old, it is likely that he will simply end his career when he leaves Real Madrid.
If I'm not mistaken, around 2010 he had already experienced the same stage as Cristiano Ronaldo and other players at Real Madrid, but unfortunately his career didn't last much longer and he had to leave Real Madrid to continue his career with various teams. Until finally, at the beginning of this season, Joselu returned to Real Madrid but was still on loan from Espanyol and as you said he was only a temporary striker while the club leaders determined the right replacement after Benzema.

It's not easy because from now on his position is starting to be threatened by the presence of several young players and as an older person it will be very difficult for Joselu to compete. But at least he has won several titles with Real Madrid and I think he will still be happy even though he will be disappointed that the club will not make his contract clause permanent from Espanyol. But what is clear is that Joselu still has the opportunity to add to his trophy this season and that is the Champions League title which all the players really want.

It's not about experiencing the same stage as great players. I think it's about how well and consistently you can perform at the highest level of competition. And obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo is a different machine. There is a reason why he is the best player in the world. Joselu is definitely not Cristiano Ronaldo. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good player. But not good enough to be the main striker or the only striker of a club like Real Madrid. Another thing is the striker position is the only weak link for Real Madrid at this moment. Real Madrid has been able to manage without him so far. But I don't know how long that is going to continue. In the Champions League, having only Joselu as the striker is going to be a problem in my opinion.

I admire Arsenal's performance in the Premier League. I haven't anything to say against that. They are even the most scorer team in the league in addition to their being the leader there now.  Smiley

But we don't see the same team in the Champions League. I assume you would agree with me on that as well. We can't say their performances here so far have been very consistent. We have all seen how much they struggled against Porto. There is still a point that they can benefit from though. Bayern Munich's performance in the Champions League hasn't been amazing either. If Arsenal manage to make big difficulties for their defense then things can get really interesting.
It's true that I also see it like that, Arsenal is very superior in the EPL but it seems like they are not that strong in the Champions League. It must be admitted that the Gunners are still less popular than their opponents Bayern Munich, and their glorious history has not at all favored the British representatives. However, this season the hope of continuing to progress is also very open if they are able to take advantage of the situation of the German representative who is not very consistent. I certainly really hope that Arteta can do this and even reach the final round. I really admire the way Asenal has played this season, the collaboration between the players has been great.
I also share the same sentiment as you guys, arsenal have been playing brilliantly in the premier league, but in the champions league, they have been struggling a bit, which to me, I feels like it all boils down to experience, which they actually lack, and if you look at the historical record of the champions league and teams that have won it and teams that mostly goes far in the competition, they mostly have not just quality in their teams, but experience, which I think is key in the quest for champions league glory, so to me, I believe that Bayern Munich have more in their ranks to progress to the next round of the competition than this arsenal team am seeing, because experience will play a very big role in this match between them both.
Arsenal is not really a team that is used to being at top level, they used to be, but for a long time they weren't that good ,look at the results they had in the past 15 years or so if you remove the last 2 years they weren't all that good. So, when it comes to last weeks of the league or last rounds of UCL, those are stuff majority of this team is not sued to and the result doesn't come that easily.

This is why I think it is quite normal for them to not have anything that will benefit them and may have some stress. This should be the most important thing and that means we can make it work one way or another. I hope that they could have some calm and relax way of playing this year, compared to last year where they lost it in the end.

Talking about Arsenal against Bayern Munich is indeed very interesting, because this season Arsenal managed to qualify for the quarter finals so there are many positive assumptions which have made the public enthusiastic, especially Arsenal fans. Facing Bayern Munich, we were a little worried, but if we managed to overcome this threat, Arsenal had great potential to advance to the final. However based on the advantages of each, I also quite agree that it is difficult to make a choice. Arsenal, playing at home, has a positive record, this cannot be taken lightly by Tuchel troops. No matter how great Bayern Munich is, what they are facing is a team that never gives up. When it comes to the mental readiness of Bayern Munich players, they are definitely more stable, in my opinion this is just a matter of Arteta tactics against Tuchel and Bayern Munich's history of winning in the past cannot be used as a benchmark.

For now, Arsenal has a chance of winning above 45% as hosts and Bayern Munich 27%. I think it is worth noting Arsenal's level of seriousness in welcoming Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium.

Yeah Arsenal deserves to be relied on in the first leg as you said, they have a good record when playing at home so I'm not surprised if the winning percentage is 45% but in the second leg match control may be with Bayern Munich  Moreover, Harry Kane is there he certainly understands how to face Arsenal because he has been the top scorer in the Premier League several times so it is not difficult for him to disrupt the opponent's defense or score some goals.

Regardless of how the two teams play in the first and second legs, the most important thing is which team scores more goals and conceded fewer, because the goal difference will determine the final result. Based on the history of each team's last matches, Arsenal seems to be more active in scoring goals with an average of 3-4 goals per match.

The Champions League is a really different arena. Real Madrid have done great things in this tournament in the past, even when they were very bad in the league. Arsenal, when they were very good in the league, are not as good as expected in this tournament. The Champions League has a different ambiance. And I have to say that Arsenal vs Bayern Munich is a match I will never bet on. Maybe I will bet on both teams to score a goal. There is a possibility that Arsenal can qualify from this stage to the next stage of the tournament.Bayern Munich will be without their fans who are banned from entering the stadium,it will be a tough match between these two sides as Arsenal tend to break their yoke and get to the semi finals, hoping to reach the final of the competition.
Harry Kane is a regular scorer whenever he meets with Arsenal,so I will be expecting him to score, but I'm sure they won't score more than one goal at Emirates stadium.

Bayern Munich is very focused on their Champions League match at the moment after they are almost certain to fail to defend their Bundesliga title and of course because of this it also makes Bayern Munich more motivated.
In terms of mentality and self-confidence, the Bayern Munich team is better than Arsenal, but Bayern Munich's steps will not be as easy as their previous meeting because Arsenal's quality has improved this season, so even though Bayern Munich is the favorite, a fierce match will occur and it is not even impossible that anything will happen. turning away from what is favored.
Bayern Munich have been inconsistent this season in the German Bundesliga and that's why they're currently trailing the German league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 10 points behind after 26 league games. But in the coming to the UEFA Champions League competition, they've been impressive even when I think their performances aren't too convincing and now that they know that it'll be almost impossible for them to win the league title this season, it's expected of thek to put all their energy in the UEFA Champions League competition which is why I think they'll be putting out their best when they face current English Premier League leaders Arsenal in the quarter finals of the competition
Arsenal on the other side have been impressive in all competitions this season even more convincing than Bayern Munich but considering the quality of players in both teams, I think Bayern Munich stands a better chance of progressing to the semi finals at the expense of Arsenal. Again, the head to head statistics of both teams suggests that Bayern Munich stands a better chance of progressing so I think the only thing that'll make Arsenal eliminate Bayern Munich is if they can out their best performance and expect the German club to underperform

I am also saying the same thing; the benchmarks of Bayern Munich past record against Arsenal should not be taking serious this time because Arsenal this season has breaken so many records people think they can’t, and Arteta has built his team to become a good team with winning mentality.

Defeating FC Porto is not always easy, and for Arsenal to be able to eliminate them in the knockout stage, I am seeing a great future ahead which means I am seeing Arsenal reaching the Champions League finals this season.
I am not underrating Bayern Munich because there inconsistency this season, but I can see that Arsenal squad have more quality an them and are on form compared to the German giants.

Bayern are not favorites in the Champions League right now, but they are definitely one of the contenders. Everyone is trying to remember Arsenal's amazing results in the Premier League, but the Champions League is a different tournament and Bayern is a team of a completely different level. As far as I can compare these opponents, it is clear to me that Bayern are superior to Arsenal, despite all the difficulties that the team has had to go through this season. Besides, every team has its downturns, and it may be good that Bayern went through this difficult period earlier, as far as their recent results are concerned.
No man. When Champions League comes to quarter finals, there are not many matches left and with player resource at Bayern Munich, they are still one of best teams in the tournament.

They are not at a first, second or third most favorite positions as the possible champion but they have enough power and quality to achieve it. They got a lucky draw to have an opponent for quarter finals is Arsenal. Arsenal are strong in Premier League last and this seasons but they don't have good experience in Champions League and this is Arsenal's biggest disadvantage when playing against Bayern Munich in next two matches.

If Bayern Munich beat Arsenal and play at semi finals, I really disagree to say they won't have good chance to win Champions League. They have problems but they are not too weak compares to teams like Real Madrid or Manchester City.

I know right, Arsenal is not used to be here so we are not programmed to think they are capable of pulling surprises to their fans but what if Arsenal becomes like the rest of the teams that are good. You can't see a team at the top of the Premier League and consider their performance as average, they are more than average team which is why I have a vote of confidence in them, at least to send Bayern Munich back to Bundesliga where they belong.

I admire Arsenal's performance in the Premier League. I haven't anything to say against that. They are even the most scorer team in the league in addition to their being the leader there now.  Smiley

I also think that both teams will score goals, and it is obvious that this is one of the most likely possibilities in the betting. Both Bayern Munich and Arsenal have high offensive power. In this matchup, the players who are lucky and on their day will win the match. If it happens on Harry Kane's day, Bayern will even have the advantage of going on a tour while going to England.

Arsenal in the Premier League has indeed performed extraordinary, they are able to lead the standings with their good record this season. Well, in the Champions League, of course they also have to be able to perform better because at each stage the opponents they face become increasingly difficult. In the quarter-finals, Arsenal will face Bayern Munich, where Bayern Munich is the team that is quite the favorite to become champions. This match is a big challenge for Saka et al because if they succeed in beating Bayern Munich, the mentality of Arteta team will certainly be stronger to visit the Allianz Arena in the second leg.

In terms of experience, of course Bayern Munich is superior to Arsenal, but in terms of ambition, Arsenal may be the strongest this season. The first leg will be an important match that Arsenal must win because it will make them more confident when playing in the second leg.
I don't think that Arsenal is more ambitious than Bayern Munich in the Champions League, because Arsenal is have the hope of winning their domestic league EPL because they are topping the table, but Bayern does not have this opportunity, because they are second on the table, and it will be impossible for Leverkusen to drop point and lose the league for Munich.

This is what will make Bayern Munich take their Champions League matches more serious to make sure that they advance to the semifinals. Arsenal are weak when it come to UCL matches, and Bayern Munich is strong when it comes to UCL matches due to their experience. This makes me to doubt that Arsenal will be able to qualify to the semifinals. Bayern Munich are very dangerous playing at home. Bayern Munich is not Porto that they struggled with and qualify with a penalty shootout.

I have had a look and I couldn't believe that the bookmakers seem to have big faith in Arsenal and valued them as the real favorite. To give you an idea, they put Arsenal at 1.99, so let's say at 2.0, and they put Bayern Munich at 3.59.

I agree that the odds for Bayern Munich winning this game should be relatively high as it is a game away from home and it is against the team that is leading the Premier League. But given how the game developed recently for Bayern, do you think that Arsenal winning the game at 1.99 is correctly marked by the bookmakers? Even if it is marginal, it is a bit below 2.0 and I did expect something with a 2. coming first.

I don't think that Arsenal's chances of winning that game are that high. At least I wouldn't bet on it at those odds. I think it is always a good indicator to think about potential odds that someone would be willing to put money on an outcome and for me this would be more between 2.5 and 3.0, but it would definitely not be worth it when you get just under 2.0.

I don't understand why you are surprised. Do you think that the leader of the Premier League cannot win at least one home game out of two against the second Bundesliga team (current quotes suggest exactly this)?
Does the fact that Bayern in recent games have heavily beaten the outsiders of the Bundesliga and the 9th team in Serie A (Lazio) somehow change the fact that Bayern has been playing very weakly all season? Compared to Arsenal, which has been going smoothly all season, Bayern is truly an outsider.

I said
Quote
for me this would be more between 2.5 and 3.0
, by which I mean the odds for Arsenal to win that home game. Where did you take logic and mathematics that you translate my sentence into
Quote
cannot win at least one
? As you can see, I am sure you are a smart guy and I assume you had some education in mathematics + logic or you are probably self-taught to a certain degree. I was trying to understand your comment, but whatever way I twist your words, I can't help but come up with a lot of interpretations for what I said. But your interpretation is not part of the solution set.

I never said that Arsenal can't win that home game. I discussed the odds and found it surprising that they put Bayern into the underdog role by quite a bit! That's all I said and I concluded that the odds are not worth a bet for me, this may be different for you.

But it's all good, I only don't like these over interpretations of someone has said. My take still is that I expected odds of 1/X/2 to be more in a more narrow range.

What a idiot thing i read today. The barcelona said they rejected a offer for Lamine Yamal valuated in 200 millions.... come on stop that shit, inflation on football is a complete nonsense, how i the earth this boy is gonna worth 200 million. Is like 2 CR7 when he reach Real Madrid, poor non sense.

He is a good player but nothing close to that number.

When the Champions League rolls around this season, Bayern Munich status is considered equal to Real Madrid and Manchester City in terms of opportunities to win the trophy. Along the way, Tuchel squad experienced several shocking defeats, thus creating a new perception that their chances were now lower than before. Now Bayern Munich has appeared consistent again in the Bundesliga, beside their greatest luck in the Champions League is turning things around when facing Lazio.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is still considered one of the teams challenging for the title, even though many now doubt them. Facing Arsenal is a test of their true strength, if Bayern Munich is able to overcome the resistance offered by Arsenal, in my opinion the opportunity for Tuchel squad to reach the final is very open. Now Tuchel will mobilize all the potential and focus of his squad on the Champions League, they will try their best to maintain the only remaining hope for this season.

Yes, he played a couple of meaningless games for Real and even scored two goals, but it is obvious that compared to Ronaldo and Benzema, he did not have a single chance of appearing on the field at least somewhat regularly.
Overall a pretty interesting player, I see that he played in as many as 11 clubs and his longest stay in a club was 3 years in Alaves. I once read an interview with him after a game for Real when he scored a goal and was very happy about it and at the same time criticized himself for a bunch of wasted moments, and since then I have felt sympathy for him.

However, Arteta will not just leave the UCL just because Bayern Munich is favored by many parties, but did you know that Bayern Munich is not like it used to be. It's the same as Arsenal in Arteta hands, so both teams have the same chance of qualifying. Bayern Munich is also experiencing a bit of a mismatch between the coach and the players, plus this season will be his last season with Bayern Munich, or it could also be due to the habit of Bayern officials who fired him early. Don't be surprised by the tradition of dismissing Bayern Munich coaches, because as long as they don't meet their targets, Tuchel will suffer the same fate. Compared to Arsenal today, both sides are solid, both coaches and players. Why is this important? Of course, on the field, synchronization is important to build cooperation, and in playing solidly, Arsenal is clearly superior.
In terms of strength, the two teams are different, currently there are many developments that have occurred in the last few seasons after the meeting of the two teams and I agree if you say that Arsenal is currently much stronger, but so is Bayern Munich, everything is different.
If you look at the motivation, these two teams are quite persistent in the UCL this season, especially Bayern Munich because they failed to defend the Bundesliga title so the UCL is the only trophy they can possibly win.
So indeed the possibility of qualifying for the semi-finals is still the same for both, but we have our own point of view in predicting what will happen and I prefer Bayern Munich because I think they have a much better mentality than Arsenal.
