The 3 games ahead of Bayern Munich are all tough games for them. First they will face Frankfurt who are just below them in the Bundesliga standings, second they will face Stuttgart who although on paper are on Bayern Munich's side, but they can give a surprise, and lastly they will face Barcelona in the Champions League. Focusing on their match against Barcelona, actually they have a good record when facing Barcelona, but Barcelona is also in good shape now, so this will be a tough game for both teams. On the other hand Barcelona will also definitely try hard to improve their meeting record with Bayern Munich.
IMO, domestic matches do not put any pressure on Munich. It is clear that Kompany is starting to know what strategy is suitable to use to maintain his position in the UCL and in the Bundesliga standings.
To face Barcelona later, Munich is still favored because in H2H both teams always have very clear results that Munich can always beat Barcelona. And currently in terms of player quality, Munich is far superior.
So this will be an interesting match without having to worry about the results obtained by Munich.

I was happy to see Bayern Munich getting that win against Dynamo Zagreb but I knew that was a mid team and enough folks on here gave enough praise to Vincent Kompany after that game. I wanted to see him against a tactically sound manager and he didn't do so well against Bayern Leverkusen and now Aston Villa ( Xabi Alonso and  Unai Emery ) sometimes I feel like he's not a good replacement for Thomas Tuchel but, enough games ahead to see if he'll be able to win the Bundesliga League Competition. Bayern Leverkusen and Aston Villa has just shown the world the weakness of Vincent Kompany..
I agree. Bayern Munich’s weaknesses have just been exposed by Bayern Leverkusen and Aston Villa and like I said before in another thread, other opponents will now have the courage to face Bayern Munich without much pressure. I hope Vincent Kompany is able to change this impression in the coming games either in the domestic league or in the Champions League tournament.
It is not easy to face the team coached by Xabi Alonso or the team coached by Unai Emery because they are both in their best form but that does not mean we can conclude that other clubs will dare to face Bayern Munich because this club is not as weak as you imagine, maybe Bayern Munich lost against Aston Villa and got a draw against Leverkusen but that is not something that will continue to happen when facing other clubs I am sure Vincent Kompany will soon correct his team's mistakes and will start the real match again.
Munich will travel to Barcelona in the next match in the Champions League, seeing 2 less than satisfactory matches for Munich, Kompany must be able to restore the warmth of the media with what he has done before, and in my opinion Munich will work harder to be able to achieve good results in the next match in the Bundesliga they will meet Frankfurt which is also a strong team in my opinion this will be an important assessment of how Munich will be in the future when the Champions League continues against Barcelona.

Barcelona itself has been quite good lately with their former coach Munich and who once embarrassed Barca with the massacre, will this be a momentum for Barcelona to be able to beat Munich again I think it could happen, because Munich under Kompany's guidance is still not consistent enough with their victory and I really look forward to this meeting and I think in this match there will be another dramatic incident.
Bayern is in a time of big challenge, and this is where Kompany skills will be put to test again since they are playing three strong clubs consecutively. I believe that Kompany might win his domestic matches, but I can't say about winning Barcelona who is also in good form and hot. I hope that Kompany will have learnt his mistakes from the last two matches that he was unable to win and work on them, otherwise his opponents will take advantage of those laxity.

Barcelona is playing at home and that is the main reason why Kompany needs to put in his best to prove he deserves coaching a big club like Bayen if he can win the match, but a draw will be cool.

Bayern Munich's draw against Leverkusen was acceptable, but Bayern Munich's loss to Aston Villa in a crucial Champions League match was unacceptable. It is normal for Leverkusen to draw in the local league against stronger teams and stronger teams than Aston Villa, but losing to a team like Aston Villa in an important match like the Champions League is not really normal. lready this season, Bayern Munich are expected to win the local league title as well as do well in the Champions League. If they perform like this at the moment, we have to forget that Bayern Munich can win the Bundesliga title or qualify for the semi-finals or final of the Champions League.

Aston Villa under Unai Emery became a good team, so it is not surprising that Aston Villa became a team that had a good improvement in the Premier League and also had at least good results in the current Champion League. For me, Aston Villa's victory is a fairly reasonable result, because in my judgment that Aston Villa might also only be able to hold Bayern Munich to a draw,  but who would have thought that the goal that occurred in the 79th minute occurred and made Bayern Munich lose. After all, that Aston Villa also had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half and thus, the fact that Aston Villa was very successful in maximizing the slightest opportunity  to make a goal, because  in that match that Bayern Munich also only focused on attacking.
Some teams have become known for performing well in the Champions League. Before the start of every season we discuss the Champions League tournament and we always put the big teams ahead for these tournaments. In other words, Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich are the big teams. And every season any two of these teams make it to the finals and any one of the two teams becomes the champion. But think for a moment when any other team outside of these known teams does well in the Champions League, how much discussion will be made in the football world about that team. Aston Villa are the new team in the Champions League so expectations will always be high and expect them to perform very well in the next Champions League matches as well.

Before Munich thinks about the next opponent in the Champions League, today Munich must be able to prepare a better strategy to be able to win at Frankfurt's home. Because if Munich can lose in the match they will play today, of course their position will be taken over by Frankfurt, but if the result is a draw, Frankfurt's position may be disturbed by Leipzig if Leipzig can win in today's away match. Now Kompany's task is starting to look harder because in a short time they have to continue to face fairly strong opponents including the next opponent in the Champions League, namely Barcelona which has also had quite good changes in its performance sector.

Barcelona against young boys bern was a super one for the Barcelona's.
In this match fans were excited how their Players Played the match I see this their new coach has changed the players in their velocity .

Barcelona as a team having young players like Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres in their front, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo in their middle and Jules kounde in their defense with this their new coach Hansi Flick.

It was a kudos for the Barcelona's team ended the game on 5-0 against Young boys despites how good the Young boys team were in the game.

After that bad start by a Monaco loss, this was really needed. Barcelona were overwhelming their opponent on paper already and they showed it in action clearly too.  Grin  Hansi Flick era is just awesome!

There were really surprising results last night. I don't know from where to start...

Aston Villa really gave Bayern Munich an upset.  Grin  Emery magic continues! We didn't see Lille win coming either. Real Madrid are really unstable these days. Of course, it wouldn't be good to finish without mentioning the destruction by Benfica. 4-0 against Simeone's Atletico? Just incredible when you think Benfica weren't doing amazing in the Champions League for a quite while.
Football is full of surprises and last night games were full of surprises and a lot of gamblers lost their bet because no one will ever believe that Lille will win Real Madrid the defending champion and Benefica would humiliate Atletico Madrid to that extent.

Bayern who has never been beaten since Kompany took over a manager was defeated yesterday by an average English Club Aston Villa. It was a memorable day for Aston Villa as they were able to win Bayern who they have not being able to win in the past 46 years ago. I think the new Champions League format is kicking some clubs off their feet until they get adapted to it.

I was really surprised last night how Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could not even draw their match in the Uefa Champions League competition. When I saw the odds of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League competition, I was afraid they would find it hard to win their match in the Uefa Champions League, so I had to double chance both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but to my greatest surprise, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could not even play a draw with their opponent in the Uefa Champions League, and both matches spoiled my bet ticket.
Champions League is a different football league game where all the champions of Europe clubs are to play each teams.

It should not be a surprise to me if Real Madrid and Bayern Munich loose. Besides the two teams were away where they suffered their lost and home teams are almost the stronger teams than the away teams and it is eleven mans game where both teams are potential to win.

So let us recall that this a football and a champions league of investable.
Even though this is Uefa Champions League football, if you have been following it for a long time, you know it's a surprise for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to lose a match on the same night to underdog teams. I know the Uefa Champions League is based on champions from different leagues, so if we are to predict Real Madrid and Bayern Munich games by who has the strongest team, we will pick Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to win their game because they had a better team than their opponent. What just happened to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in their last Uefa Champions League match was just an upset, which is normal in football, and I think Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also underestimated their opponent; that was why they failed to win their last Uefa Champions League match.

I hope Vincent Kompany is able to change this impression in the coming games either in the domestic league or in the Champions League tournament.

I can't say Leverkusen brings out Bayern Weakness. Leverkusen knows ball, they won the last Bundesliga league without any loss, you don't expect Bayern to skin then alive when they met, they both made goals and draw which is fine but they messed up by losing to Aston Villa, it's one of the worst match they have played even when it's obvious that Bayern Munich played them alot but no goals for them but a loss of a match doesn't mean the can't go again.

My only fear is that their next match is going to be against Barcelona, two teams that have been dragged down on the table and want to do anything, it will look like another Derby because this two are kind of hot right now. Barcelona topped their domestic league and Bayern topped their domestic league, so it will be difficult to know who is going to win, it's better to play over 2.5 in this game than gamble both teams option, it will end in disappointment.
Bayern Munich will not want to record another loss after losing to Aston Villa. Barcelona on the other end are struggling with injuries at the moment which means it will be trouble for Barcelona, playing against a team that is in good form and with the level of the squad Bayern Munich has, it will be a really tough game for Barcelona. The Champions League has been very unpredictable this season, one cannot be sure how the game will play out when the league resumes, I’m in support of Bayern Munich to win though.

Bayern Munich loss to Aston Villa was unavoidable just like how they were not able to avoid the big loss to Bayern Leverkusen in last season’s champions league. They tried their best but could not get those comeback or able to stop them from scoring them. Besides Aston Villa is not a small team that can be looked down on anymore. They did well last season and got a qualification to the champions league and so far this season, with the position they’re in now, you can tell that they will also do well and go far this season. That was the champions league, every team that plays there shouldn’t be looked down on or defeats will be what will be the result of such team. Every team should be treated equals and played with much zeal to win in order to excel. It was a surprising result though, so they should do better henceforth.

However, with this new formula it doesn't seem to change much in terms of competitiveness. In fact, with all these "mattress" teams taking part in the competition, I would say that it doesn't bring anything in terms of competitiveness. Teams like Bologna who have had an excellent championship are not teams that they bring nothing to the competition but this is the new standard and therefore we must stick to this!
Wether we like it or not, the new UEFA Champions League format is here to stay and the earlier we start to embrace it, the better for us. The main reason why some people aren't enjoying it is because they don't understand how it works and instead of studying the new format, they resorted criticizing it which makes every game appear boring to them. Bologna had a great season in the Italian Serie A last season which was why they were able to qualify and the fact that they've failed to win in any of their first two games doesn't necessarily mean that Bologna will not get it right as the competition continues.

Well it may seem like this new pattern isn't making much difference just yet until we get half way the champions league season then we would be bale to tell better if its going to be really as we expected but until then, its going to be like a regular experience until when these teams would want to make sure they are at the top of the table just to make sure they maintain that form enough to get them to the point they will be able to make it pass this stage to the next stage of the game, as its in stages. the next stage after this may bring to life that aspect of competitiveness you have always wanted off the game. teams like bologna who isn't really experienced may not make it pass this stage or probably the next if they eventually get pass this.

Aston Villa under Unai Emery became a good team, so it is not surprising that Aston Villa became a team that had a good improvement in the Premier League and also had at least good results in the current Champion League. The team coached by Unai Emery became a scary specter for Bayern Munich.
When Unai Emery coached PSG and Villarreal, his team also managed to beat Bayern Munich, it seems that the Spanish manager always has a way to win over the Bundesliga giants. It is not easy to beat Kompany squad, where they have a more ideal squad, but once again Unai Emery had better luck. Aston Villa used counterattacks as one way to score goals, with Bayern Munich appearing too aggressive, giving Aston Villa the opportunity to play more effectively. But this is not the end of Bayern Munich journey in the Champions League, and it is not a guarantee for Aston Villa journey in the future. The remaining 6 matches in the League phase will test the strength of both teams to continue to secure full points. Unai Emery must ensure that his team is not just lucky to be able to beat Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich may have falter while playing against those two teams but I don’t see them still not a team that can contend for the league title or the champions league. They may have faced some errors to have caused that which they ought to have by now rectified that. They should do better in their coming games in both competitions. I still have hope on Vincent Kompany to still make the the team do well in their games and be at the top.

I think Ten Hag was lucky against Porto because we saw Manchester United play with a weaker performance against Porto and, to be honest, I was expecting to see Porto win this match even with a better result but Manchester United didn't lose it and they got a 3-3 result.
The interesting thing about the game between Manchester United and Porto is about Harry Maguire. He scored the third goal for his team and saved his team in this match and he also saved Ten Hag from getting fired.

Was Ten Hag going to get fired if they had lost that match? I didn’t see such news and I was expecting a tough match which the match really turned out to be one. Eric Ten Hag still has a lot of time to spend with Manchester United because the team still trusts on his management and believes he will do better as the head coach of the team. FC Porto was not a small team neither was Manchester United, so the result of the match is fair in my opinion.

Exactly, the new format has made the league more interesting and unpredictable because I cannot say which of the clubs are the strongest currently since big clubs are also losing and small clubs are ahead of them on the table. It is after the group stage that those who qualify will be relieved from uncertainty.

Wednesday matches were surprising because how on earth will anyone think that those clubs will walk away with three points against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. I believe there are still lot of surprise for us in future.

Regardless of the pros and cons, the new format of the Champions League has provided quite interesting entertainment, with various surprises every week. Of course, in the future there will be more surprises, and it is quite difficult to predict. Favorite teams such as Madrid, Man City, Bayern Munchen must be more vigilant in the future, especially in the next 6 matches, because this season is very different from previous seasons. On the other hand, the international break is getting closer, teams that send their players to strengthen the National Team are in great concern. What is meant is, with the increasingly dense match schedule, it has the potential to make players susceptible to injury. If this happens, it will certainly disrupt the club's campaign in the Champions League, it is also a challenge for every manager this season.

Victory against a team like Dynamo Zagreb may not give us complete proof of Kompany ability, remembering that Dynamo is not a strong team so far, but I think when they face Leverkusen in the Bundesliga of course we have to admit that if Munich game has improved a lot despite the draw they got in end match, I think there are times when we have to look at it in a broader perspective on how judge a coach not judge just from the lose, but the improvement of the team to be better should also be able to get appreciation from us for that  the coach ability, we know that the kompany is young coach and does not have much experience like Unai Emery, so it is too early for us to say if he is a bad coach and even coaches like Tuchel, Guardiola and Ancelotti also has suffered losses from teams that are weaker than their team, however, with a long season to go by, there are still plenty of opportunities for Kompany to prove his ability in coaching.

It was a pretty interesting Champions League week with quite many surprising results.  Smiley  Emery's success over Bayern Munich, Benfica's shocking 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid and the unexpected loss by Real Madrid...

This makes the tournament more fun though. Because the competition gets more heated. Even the biggest title contenders struggle against smaller teams. We don't see any of them in top places after 2 weeks. We see teams like Dortmund, Brest, Benfica and so on. I know it is early but who knows maybe one of top contenders won't make it to top 8.

By the way next matches are going to continue as of October 22 because of the national break ahead.  Wink
I was against this Champions League new format before, but as I have started seeing the outcomes if the games, and I am beginning to fall in love with the new format because we will see a lot of competitive games in this group stage before the round of sixteen, and we will see a lot of surprising results in the group stage because we have started deeing after just two weeks in the competition.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and some dfeats yesterday are surprising, I never expected any especially these two; this reason has made me to give more attention to the Champions League this season because some teams that we are expecting to go far might not go far.
I think I’m loving the Champions League format, it makes the competition even more interesting and tougher. Previously when the draws are made, some clubs always get to play against three mid clubs in the home and away format but in this new format you get to play top teams which makes it even more interesting from the group stage.
