Actually it's really going to be interesting on how these three new teams will perform in this year uefa champions league, am talking of bologna, Bayern Leverkusen and Girona, though among them all, it's Leverkusen that I feel are the strongest among this three teams due to the fact that they haven't sell any of their best players, but the other teams, especially bologna, most of their key players have left the club already, even the manager to that took them to the UEFA champions league, so I think due to that, it's going to be a very long season for them if they don't replace those players that left with top quality.

Lastly, talking of what I am expecting from this three teams that just qualify in this year champions league, I think that this particular competition will be too strong for them, and Bayern Leverkusen wouldn't be able to stay unbeaten that long in the UCL the way they were last season in the Europa league, though I might be wrong, but that's what I think though.
There is no doubt things could not easy for these teams in Champions League as these all are having historic success into their domestic leagues and now it's challenging time for them to have success here into this event for me most chances we will have Bayer Leverkusen into round of 16 because they are having good experience of playing into UEFA and their performance and squad both are having enough potential to go through but for the rest of two teams things could be not easy.

Girona and Bologna are going for first time and it's challenging time for them to have good performance in both domestic league and Champions League usually teams lost their momentum, and we are having terrible end of season for the teams like these, but I am having some confidence in Girona which is doing good job for improvement into their squad, but Bologna is surely having not easy time, and we have to check how they will be done in coming season.

Second UCL qualifying round for the second leg will start today and of course this will show which team are worthy of continuing their struggle in the future in the most important competition in European football.
Several team managed to win with good score and achieved fairly comfortable aggregate lead in the first leg, they now just need to survive and really ensure that the advantage they previously gained is not in vain.
Several team are favorites in the qualifying second leg, I took several team and made them favorites, but unfortunately in this match almost all of the seeds have low odds.

Ah, today Jose Mourinho's Fenerbache are playing, who knows if this time they can win without complaints and excuses.  It will be difficult for Lugano to beat the special one's team away from home, their teams are usually very strong at home. Anyway, much games with new format.

But I'm not sure about Ferencvaros. I mean they won by 5-0 in the first leg but sometimes these teams might surprise us in the other leg because of the complacency.
Why would you think they'd be complacent after winning big in the first leg? I checked their match history and it seems like they take this competition seriously. I don't think resting key players is a bad choice and even if they trail by 3 goals in the first half doesn't mean they can't change anything by the second half. Not to mention the target is the Champions League, not some local cups that has no history at all.

I personally occasionally bet on teams in the Hungarian league matches and I think if we compare the quality between the teams playing in the Hungarian league it is better than the teams playing in Wales. Thus, the fact that Ferencvaros also really dominated the match from all statistics and thus, I think it is natural that Ferencvaros managed to win with a score of 5-0.

With such a big win, it certainly does not matter if Ferencvaros is complacent, because it is also a pride for them because they won big in the qualifying round of the Champion League. Likewise, even if Ferencvaros rotates players in the second leg later, I'm sure Ferencvaros will still qualify. Because after all, Ferencvaros also only needs to maintain victory and even if they lose 2-0, in fact Ferencvaros will still qualify.

Girona will not have difficulty if they appear like last season. Bologna will also experience the same situation as Girona in the Champions League in a new format. We imagine Girona and Bologna as a team that just competed in the Champions League will be difficult, but I don't think they will experience the worst level of difficulty because they are ready to face competition in a new format that has been set will take place in the 2024/25 season.
Honestly, it is quite doubtful to expect Girona and Bologna to perform well in UCL. You must be aware that these teams have changed, they are no longer the same as the previous season. Some of the key players of Girona have moved to other teams, even their captain left the club. It will be very difficult to maintain the performance if some of key players are no longer in the squad. Meanwhile Bologna has changed their coach because Motta moved to Juventus. I am sure the performance of Bologna won't be the same as the previous season under the new coach. Even in domestic competitions, these teams may be difficult to maintain their performance. It will be harder to play in UCL, I am a bit worried with the performance of these teams in UCL. If they can't play optimally, I think they can't reach the knock-out stage.

I don't know about Bologna, but as for Girona I'm sure they will perform well, at the beginning of last season they were performing very well in their domestic league and even towards the middle of the season, at some point they were even at the top of the table in the Spanish la Liga for a while before Madrid took over the mantle. so I think they have the temperament and the composure to chat a new course in this their champions League journey. If Girona continue the way they played last season, then they are a team to watch out for.
Of course, Girona performance last season was an outstanding one in Laliga which no one expected it and they were able to maintain their performance till the end but had a little set back which made them finished third on the table. I am expecting a good performance from Girona in the Champions League next season because they still have all their players and coach intact. Girona is a club of surprises and I hope we will see some from them next season.

Last season we saw that Girona is a team full of surprises. They played well against many opponents and won the pitch. The performance of their players got better with each match. They did not achieve what they wanted towards the end of the season but still achieved great success.

The opposing team can analyze and figure out how Girona plays against their opponents. The Champions League is a different level and they may face a team you have never played with before. Therefore, it is not easy to perform well in the Champions League. I wonder if Girona can continue the good football they played last season because I think it is not easy for them because the expectations are very high.

I look forward to actually seeing  again good performance from Girona with their last performance in Laliga, they should probably channel such energy in the upcoming UCL, although  it didn't  last much as expected but they really did a great job standing tall in the last laliga which is such a good performance IMO neglecting their flopps because I knew it will be hard for them to keep up in the first place, can't say Bolonga too probably because I'm not familiar to watching their games
Should we expect a very good performance from Girona in the Champions League match? Every team that performs well in the Champions League has either experienced players or experienced coaches. Although Girona performed very well last season, I don't think this team is experienced. It is very difficult to perform well in the Champions League and La Liga at the same time. More importantly, Girona's players are not used to such a busy schedule. This will increase the risk of injury for Girona's players. And when players suffer injuries, the overall performance of the team will naturally suffer.

I would say Girona's main focus should be on La Liga matches. It will be good for them. It would be good for Girona to finish third or fourth in La Liga, and qualify for the Champions League again. Girona's players will gradually become Champions League experienced if 2/3 seasons qualify for the Champions League.
Girona is exciting team and their performance in La Liga in presence of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid was impressive even they are not having experience of playing in Europe, but things are looking much better for them, and we can expect another good season for them because their management is doing good work, and they will try to keep momentum which help them for having consistency and quality at his best.

Now if we have them good in La Liga for the next season as well then surely this could be good for the league and Girona because this will bring good changes in La Liga where we have usually three teams in control, but now this will also give motivation to many others for having improvement, but Champions League is never easy as it needs improved quality and well experienced players which are only possible through huge funds so hopefully they will be able to have things well under control for themselves.

I look forward to actually seeing  again good performance from Girona with their last performance in Laliga, they should probably channel such energy in the upcoming UCL,
It would be a miracle if they make it to the RO16, yes they had a fantastic season in Laliga 23/24, but the CL is something completely different and there is no way Girona can compete with the quality of teams in the CL. Remember how Newcastle came into last season's CL with a lot of promise, but failed to make it past the group stage, so all Girona can do is have as much fun as they can playing their brand of football, because their stay in the CL will be short.
Girona will be one of the debutant teams and dark horses in the Champions League next season, they performed very well last season even though they didn't have many stars in their main squad, but Girona consistent performance in La Liga actually ended when the season entered the middle and slowly they handing over the championship trophy to Madrid, currently Girona may have a big chance of qualifying for the round of 16 considering that the format changes that have occurred will allow them to get equal opponents in the semi-league phase later, but even so, if we look at Girona current mainstay players one by one leaving for other team actually makes me start to doubt whether they will be able to talk much in the Champions League next season, especially so far I haven't seen any new recruits who can really make them strong next season.

Performing well in the domestic league does not guarantee that you will also be able to perform well in the Champions League because the atmosphere of the UCL is very different from the domestic league. In the Champions League, you have to be able to perform consistently if you want to survive, unlike the domestic league which takes into account points to become champions.

I am more confident in Leverkusen ability than Girona, since under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen has turned into a club to be wary of. Girona ability is not yet able to match Leverkusen strength, if these two teams meet, it is clear that Leverkusen will win the match. Although surprises can happen in football, I am not sure Girona can do it because they will have a hard time competing with other strong teams.

Bologna lost two of their best members, the head coach who moved to Juventus, and the central defender Calafiori who moved to Arsenal. Even these people stay with Bologna, a new season will be very challenging for Bologna. In reality with these human resource losses, Bologna will have a more considerable challenging season.

Girona don't have big loss in human resource like Bologna but the transfer season is on and they are facing with pressure from big clubs which want to bring star players from Girona to their clubs. Bologna and Girona both will be challenged by unfamiliar schedules and playing intensity in both domestic leagues and Champions League.

I am more confident in Leverkusen ability than Girona, since under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen has turned into a club to be wary of. Leverkusen have better foundation to play well in a new season than Bologna and Girona. Their player quality and resource is better and Xabi Alonso stays with them as a head coach. It is a big support for their stability in tactics and training which can be basement for their success in a new season. Xabi Alonso decided to stay with Leverkusen and he aims at another successful season with Leverkusen before finding opportunity of moving to Real Madrid.

In the first leg there were many clubs that had created a large aggregate so I think in the second leg they might play more relaxed and it doesn't matter if their opponent wins as long as it doesn't exceed what they have scored before, such as Ferencvaros, Malmo, Bodo/Glimt, Midrjyland, Dynamo Kyiv and Jagiellonia so I didn't include them in my parlay bet even though they have small odds because I'm worried they will ruin my bet especially since they are playing away so I only included a few clubs that previously only scored a smaller aggregate but have a slightly bigger chance to continue to the next round hopefully my prediction this time is right Wink

You placed a risky bet and honestly I like your choice. It is not easy to leave the comfort zone and here you are very confident to be able to reap huge profits. I think this is a very decisive match for each team and at the same time everything will be more surprising if each team provides an interesting match.

I sometimes also will not enter a match that is already a clear winner and with such small odds it can sometimes be quite troublesome if they are not serious about winning and instead mess up other bets. Here Fenerbahce will definitely win but of course the other three teams Petrocub, SK Slovan and Maccabi Tel Aviv will need a little miracle to win. But that's how it is in the qualifying rounds anything is still possible.

I think the first two are really good choices. I think Sparta Prague and Fenerbahçe both will win once again. But I'm not sure about Ferencvaros. I mean they won by 5-0 in the first leg but sometimes these teams might surprise us in the other leg because of the complacency.

However I hope you don't have any problem with that too.  Smiley  Like I said before, it was really difficult to prepare a parlay that could be trusted for the second leg games. I wish the odds were a little higher for some favourites. Rather than placing a bet on a side to win maybe I might go for other bets.

Maybe this BTTS parlay with 2.80 total odds?

Should we expect a very good performance from Girona in the Champions League match?
I don't expect Girona to perform well in Champions League.

Quote
Every team that performs well in the Champions League has either experienced players or experienced coaches. Although Girona performed very well last season, I don't think this team is experienced. It is very difficult to perform well in the Champions League and La Liga at the same time. More importantly, Girona's players are not used to such a busy schedule. This will increase the risk of injury for Girona's players. And when players suffer injuries, the overall performance of the team will naturally suffer.
Their players and coach lack of experience in Champions League and did not have experience with busier schedules by playing in both La Liga and Champions League. It is not easy to adapt to big changes like this but Girona will play their matches in Champions League with fresh mind and enjoy it. They will try their best but going far or going home after the group phase, it is not too important with them. Enjoy Champions League matches as gift for their excellent performances last season, it's big gift for their club and players.

Quote
I would say Girona's main focus should be on La Liga matches. It will be good for them. It would be good for Girona to finish third or fourth in La Liga, and qualify for the Champions League again. Girona's players will gradually become Champions League experienced if 2/3 seasons qualify for the Champions League.
Girona will try to maintain their position in top four of La Liga and this is very challenging task for them. With their limited resources, this task is very difficult for them to make it done as expected. Many clubs in La Liga aim at top four, not only Girona and some clubs have better resources and experience than Girona.

For now it is still appropriate to say that, but who knows if they are the ones who can make a big surprise in the Champions League next season even though I myself still doubt that both teams can go further in the Champions League. Because if both teams can fail from the start in the Champions League, at least they can go down to the Europa League to be able to compete with the big teams there even though the level of competition is a little different, but it is still quite interesting to watch.
I don't think the team is capable of causing a surprise in the Champions League, as you know, the Champions League is very competitive and big clubs from various Leagues are there. Girona and Bologna have been surprise package in their respective leagues, but the different atmosphere in the Champions League will mean that these clubs will feel the pressure when facing stronger teams.

I have not fully understood the new format implemented in the Champions League in the 2024/25 season, whether there are still teams going down to the Europa League or not, but based on the new format, teams will play eight matches in the new league phase (previously the group phase). They will no longer play three other teams twice (Home and Away), but will face matches against eight different teams and half of the matches will be played at home and the other half will be played away. Based on this format, Girona and Bologna will have a hard time competing with other clubs, especially as they are new teams in the Champions League.

The Champions League is certainly a competitive little tournament where top teams from Europe's best leagues participate in this tournament. No matter how well a team performs in a domestic tournament, it cannot perform the same in the Champions League tournament. This season several new teams have got the opportunity to play in the Champions League, so all those teams are being discussed by journalists and general football fans, but it is a big question that the chances of these teams to do well.

The new teams must come to the Welcome Champions League tournament with their preparation. They plan to face teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Arsenal and to do well against these teams, they need quality players in their squad. If they plan to participate in the Champions League and play according to plan, they have a chance to do well.

Girona didn't actually flop, in as much as they made the top4 and came to the champions league, it is good a result. I wasn't expecting them to win the Laliga but I expected them to make the top 4 which they made and that was fantastic.

Also, I am no only expecting to see how Girona will fare in the champions League, I am more concerned about Bayern Leverkusen of Germany. Honestly, Alonso and his boys need to show some class in the champions league this season. It's a tough expectation for Xavi Alonso both in local league and Champions league.
