Now Madrid only have to focus on the remaining matches because looking at the current schedule 2 of the 4 matches that will be carried out in weeks 5 and 6 will clearly be troublesome for them considering the opponents they have to face are Liverpool and Atalanta so even though Play off is an option for now but still they have to get points especially after 2 defeats which are quite painful making them currently in a less favorable position in the standings.

Madrid still have a lot to make some schemes and of course the momentum must be built from scratch after several painful defeats at the Bernabeu.
Do not let the minus results always get them because after all even though the play offs now they can still get but of course they also still need points to tell that they are also still one of the clubs that are indeed favorites in the championship.
Real Madrid's struggle this season is more difficult than before and this is of course because of the increasing number of injured players. In the last match, at least 3 players were reported to have suffered injuries including Rodrygo, Vasquez and Militao. This is clearly very troublesome for Ancelotti, it is even reported that Militao will miss this season due to his serious injury status.

Real Madrid may need to get some additional players in January considering they still have to fight hard in La Liga and the Champions League. Losing 2 times in 4 matches is certainly very unexpected, but that is part of the risk of the match for all teams. Ancelotti needs to develop the best plan for each match following the many injuries that have hit Real Madrid.

If Madrid will end up in the play-off round, it is already the coach's plan to give the weaker team a chance to compete strongly and lose energy and run out of ways or strategies. While Ancelotti will be more relaxed in the play-off round to slowly catch up with other teams.
Indeed, the journey becomes longer but I believe what Ancelotti planned is the best way.

I checked the odds for the match between Liverpool v Real Madrid and as it turns out, Liverpool is the overwhelming favorite. But even so, I personally do not consider about Liverpool who will play at home because obviously, at this moment Liverpool is still in a very good trend compared to Real Madrid. But at least, we also cannot at all underestimate Real Madrid, because we also realize that Real Madrid is a team that has a good winning mentality. Although in the previous  match Real Madrid lost 1-3 against Milan, but I believe the performance and results that will occur in the match against Liverpool later will be very likely to have very different results. But even so, the results on paper may also still be possible to happen about Liverpool who may then manage to continue their positive trend.

Liverpool vs Madrid (draw)
It cannot be said that Real Madrid is performing very well at the moment, so Liverpool can win the Champions League match against Real Madrid as Liverpool are currently in the best form. The result of the match will either go in favor of Real Madrid or it will go in favor of Liverpool but I don't think the result of this match will be a draw. When a strong team performs poorly on a regular basis and their position drops to the bottom of the points table due to poor performance, they can do anything to get back into the good position. Looking forward to a great comeback from Real Madrid. Of course, we will expect Real Madrid to make a strong return to the Champions League with the match against Liverpool and we are looking forward to that.

I think there is a possibility that this match will end in a draw, when we look at it, the strengths of the two teams are very close to each other. Liverpool is one of the best this year, we all watch how they play in the Premier League. Real Madrid is a team that can always do anything. In some matches they play very badly, in others they are very good, like a real champion. But this season they are not very good, they cannot play like last year.
So I think the strengths of the teams are close to each other and I think it is possible to end in a draw Smiley

The pressure of the Champions League is very different from the league, although Real Madrid found victory very convincingly, but I am worried about them in the Champions League, because Brest is quite solid in the Champions League, they seem to have found a good mentality compared to PSG in the Champions League, I think it is difficult for Madrid to beat them, especially since Madrid has currently lost several players due to injury, there is a possibility that this season they will not enter the next selection because overall Real Madrid has declined.
Although Brest is in a much better position than Real Madrid in the Champions League standings this season, I would not say that Real Madrid is much worse than Brest. Because in the Champions League Real Madrid must still be considered a tough opponent because as long as there is still a chance to achieve better results, Real Madrid will always try to achieve it in the Champions League. Moreover, you yourself know that the pressure in the Champions League is much heavier than other leagues and teams other than Madrid also know that.
In the next four games, only Liverpool can be considered a tough opponent for Real Madrid. Atalanta, RB Salzburg and Brest are relatively easy opponents, although I don't mean to underestimate anyone. That's an honest assessment in my opinion, despite the injury situation that Los Blancos are currently facing. It's hard to imagine a team like Real Madrid, the reigning champions, suffering another shock defeat against an average team. Unexpected defeats are certainly possible, and we know that's not impossible, but with all the attributes that Ancelotti has, they seem capable of bouncing back and showing their true colours in the Champions League. The international break gives Ancelotti time to prepare his squad properly.

His assessment is based on what is currently happening to Man City and Real Madrid, these two strong clubs are not in their best form, they are starting to have difficulty competing after the new format was implemented. I think Real Madrid are worse than Man City, the defeats to Lille and Milan make their chances of qualifying automatically very small. Madrid will also face Liverpool who have always performed well this season. Liverpool and Barcelona may have automatic qualification to the last 16, Munich and City still has hope, but Madrid will have to fight to qualify through the play-off, depending on the results of the remaining matches.

It would be very surprising that Real Madrid doesn't qualify to the next stage of the competition therefore I can't write them off that they're not going to qualify. Liverpool has been impressive this season both in the premier and champions league. They're looking as a team that has the potential to win one of the league or they can win both too as they haven't shown any weakness and are just winning in the simplest way possible. They're not scoring too much but making sure they get the job down to get all three points. Liverpool next game is going to be against Real Madrid and both teams are tough teams in the champions league, if Liverpool doesn't win, they draw.

Certainly to advance to the next round phase Madrid must sweep the rest of their matches with full points, but it seems to smooth it out they need a harder effort especially since several core players must be absent again due to injury. but we agree it would be very surprising if Madrid failed to qualify for the next round, but their opponents in the 5th session of the preliminary round are not an easy team to beat. we know Liverpool have not scored many goals in each match, but they are on the right track. certainly Liverpool will not let Madrid just get full points, especially the match held at their home base Anfield. of course this will be an exciting match, Madrid needs full points and Liverpool will at least stay focused on the right track. however, the two matches played by Arne Slot's team are not easy. after playing against Madrid, Liverpool will host Man City in the Domestic League. two big matches against teams that can be said to be strong, although the situation of Real Madrid and City is not in its best performance. however, Arne Slot certainly will not be reckless. especially in this competition, Liverpool is at the top of the Champions League table. they will try to maintain it, as well as Madrid need full points even though some of their players must be absent due to injury. I hope this match presents an interesting fight, both teams have another interesting side in every meeting.

The match between Madrid and Liverpool will be a match that Madrid should be able to win to be able to improve their position in the UCL standings this season, but if Madrid continues their negative trend in the match then it will be very difficult for them to be able to secure a place for their passage to the next round, I think the match will be very interesting and also worth watching remember two big teams who will test their mentality and strength in the crucial match to win, so far Liverpool have been very consistent with still unbeaten in their matches, but although indeed Madrid is currently in a bad condition, I think the demand to win and keep the chances of qualifying will increase their motivation and ambition in the lmatch later, so that the match can end in a narrow score for one of the teams, it is indeed very difficult to determine who will win because both have great potential to win that the match.

Liverpool has a very good capital before facing Real Madrid in the 5th match of the Champions League this season. Both in the Premier League and in the Champions League they played well, so they have a great chance to win this match. Also this match will take place at Liverpool's headquarters, of course this is very beneficial for them. However, I can't say that Real Madrid will also lose this match because their performance is not good. Because after all we know Real Madrid is a club that can provide something that was not thought of before, especially this is the Champions League where their mentality is very strong even though they previously experienced very unsatisfactory results.

Besides, not getting into the top 8 won't be a big problem, because if I understand correctly, pairs like Real - City won't be possible in the preliminary playoffs. Although, in fact, I haven't checked the draw mechanism that will be used for a long time.
Teams finishing the league phase at 9th to 24th place will go to the knockout round play-offs. 9th to 16th placed teams will be seeded.

If Real Madrid and Manchester City both finish the league phase at 9th to 16 place or 17th to 24th place, it will not be possible that they will face each other. If one of them finishes the league phase at 9th to 16th place and the other team at 17th to 24the place, they may face each other at knockout round play-offs.

Barcelona and Liverpool's good chances are indeed based on their good results, but more likely on statistics. Bayern have one more failure than Barcelona at the moment, but they are rated worse. Real and City's good chances are based mainly on a long-term (pre-season) assessment of their strength - the clubs are currently doing much worse than expected and they are not leaders in their leagues, but it is assumed that in the long run they will be stronger than their bright (currently) competitors.
As for me, given the ongoing epidemic of injuries, I am no longer sure of anything.

City is only 2 points away from the top 8, while Real is 3. The chances of getting into the playoffs directly are quite good, as there is still exactly half of the tournament ahead, and teams like Brest and Monaco will most likely not stay in the top 8.
Besides, not getting into the top 8 won't be a big problem, because if I understand correctly, pairs like Real - City won't be possible in the preliminary playoffs. Although, in fact, I haven't checked the draw mechanism that will be used for a long time.

In terms of Champions League experience, squad depth and number of UCL trophies won, Real Madrid are superior to Brest. Real Madrid's weakness this season is due to inconsistent performance and several key players being injured, Brest can take advantage of these weaknesses to get points when the two face each other.

This match is very important because it will determine their steps depending on the points they have collected, Brest can use the home match to increase their collection of points in order to maintain their qualification to the last 16 without having to go through the play-off round. Currently Brest is luckier than Real Madrid based on the points collected in the last four matches, Real Madrid will also face a tough opponent in game 5 against Liverpool at Anfield.

The pressure that exists in the champions league provides a different atmosphere and compete for each club compared to those in the domestic league, so it is not surprising that there will be many surprises that occur in the champions league this season, especially with the implementation of the new format at this time, so many small teams has shown better consistency than the big teams, but I think it is a natural thing considering the competition schedule followed by the big teams is more dense than small teams like Brest, so far Brest can perform quite well but that does not means they are better than Madrid, especially if we look at the opponents that Brest has faced so far are not strong opponents, while Madrid actually faces many difficult matches due to the champions league format which sorts out small and large teams, so far Brest is unbeaten in the champions league and Barcelona, PSV and Madrid will be their next opponents, so if they can win or draw in the match of course we should say they are quite good at the moment.

As I said, I see a potentially much bigger problem in the play-offs. If they finish somewhere between 9th and 24th, the chance that they are going to meet another top team like Bayern is very real. If they want to avoid a blackout, the best shot they have is to win all remaining Champions League games in the first round now. Nobody wants to play two extra games during a stressful season and in a worst case scenario be up against Manchester City or Bayern or Arsenal or AC Milan.
Winning all the remaining matches in the current stage would be the best and that could see them qualify for the next stage without having to go through the Play-offs. But if Real Madrid continues to fail to collect full points then Real Madrid will indeed encounter problems. Because competing in the play-off round will only add to their busy match schedule. And that will only make Real Madrid not optimal in Laliga.

I really hope this team recovers soon. And I think Real Madrid will indeed come back and win almost all the remaining matches in the UCL. And I think now Ancelotti has also found the best formation for Real Madrid again. because the 4-3-3 formation always seems to succeed in making Real Madrid win. Like yesterday's match against Osasuna in Laliga and the match against Dortmund last month in UCL.

As the most successful club in the history of the competition and with a manager that's the most successful in the competition as well, I'm still very hopeful that Real Madrid will survive the group stages of the UEFA Champions League

Actually, this new format made me a little confused at first, the draw against the team is quite advantageous because there will be many teams that have the opportunity to enter the knockout phase. It seems that the luck of the draw also affects each team.
Real Madrid is an experienced team, I think the chances of qualifying are still very big. But their steps seem to be longer, maybe because they will go through the Play Off. With the new format and the number of injuries, it makes it even more difficult for them to get maximum points. But if they fail it will be a bad record for Real Madrid.
Don't you think Real Madrid have all it takes to avoid participating in the playoffs before reaching the knockout stages of the competition? As the most experienced team in the competition, I still have a strong feeling that Real Madrid will reach the knockout stages directly from the group stages and that I think will be possible if they can win at least three of their remaining four games in the UEFA Champions League this season.
IMO, I would think more realistically as @Luzin said.

And I also agree with @Docnaster if Madrid has the opportunity to get a few more points from the remaining matches. But the problem is that in the remaining matches Madrid has a schedule of 3 away matches and 1 home match. So there are still some surprises that we cannot predict the results.

Real Madrid will most likely be alright eventually, but I think there is a chance that they will lose the next two Champions League games against Liverpool and Atalanta. Both games will be hard to win and if they only get 1 or 2 points from these games, I think it is possible that they will have to go through the play-offs and that could become quite problematic as they are not the only top team who may be forced to go for an extra qualification round. So many big names that there is a strong incentive to get into the top 8.
Being in 18th position with 6 points makes Real Madrid have to work harder to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, especially since the opponents they will face next are still very difficult to beat, especially when facing Liverpool. The reason is that Liverpool themselves are in very good condition now so their chances of winning when facing Real Madrid are quite large. It seems that they do have to go through the play-off round to qualify for the last 16 and that is if they can manage to maintain a safe position between 9th and 24th positions in the standings. Ancelotti must be able to ensure that they will still go to the last 16 after 4 remaining matches.

As I said, I see a potentially much bigger problem in the play-offs. If they finish somewhere between 9th and 24th, the chance that they are going to meet another top team like Bayern is very real. Four matches left for Real Madrid in phase league matches
  • Liverpool A
  • Atalanta A
  • Salzburg H
  • Brest A
Real Madrid can beat both Salzburg and Brest but in other two matches with Liverpool and Atalanta, risk of losing points is big. It's hard to say Liverpool and Atalanta are stronger than Real Madrid but they are strong enough to have points from Real Madrid.

Liverpool don't have good record in history with Real Madrid but it doesn't mean they won't be able to beat Los Blancos. Atalanta are the same, and their success in recent seasons as well as last season final match with Leverkusen are warnings for Real Madrid to be more careful with Atalanta. The club from Bergamo Italy, can beat any big club in a good day.

Real Madrid on their side, already ended their bad streak by a big win in La Liga, they are coming back strongly. If they return to their normality, beating Liverpool and Atalanta is possible.
Brest is one team you should never underestimate because they can surprise anyone who look down on them. Although they can be regarded as a small team when compared to Real Madrid and in the champions league where they have little to no experience to play a side that have won the competition back to back. Real Madrid jut had a four zero win this weekend and that could serve as a starting point for them to get back into winnings. So, I am hoping that they will have to win Salzburg and Brest and any of Liverpool and Atalanta, this will make them qualify for the next round in the champions league.

I just imagine that they can only get an easy win against Salzburg because this team is not good enough and it seems that Madrid will win easily, but the other 3 matches are very difficult to imagine, Atalanta is quite good with their coach, so is Liverpool and also Brest who are quite good in the Champions League at the moment, I personally doubt that Real Madrid will qualify for the next round.
