If I remember correctly, bookmakers rate Liverpool as 5-7 title contenders. Yes, luck may smile on them (if Real is eliminated before a personal meeting with Liverpool), but still, the strategy for the season is built around the national championship, since the Champions League is random. In any case, the group stage of the Champions League is not the stage where clubs play at full strength or show their cards.
The UEFA Champions League group stage is simply nothing, there'd always heavy presence of opposing threats and actions from clubs. There's always momentum for these clubs to fight for crucial points and winning is among their priorities. We know clubs that will enchanced their performance until they're in the top phases in the UEFA Champions League. It's going to be entertaining to watch these clubs become very elite and competitive because everyone keen on winning.
The team I would like to watch.is really Real Madrid because of this their recent form and aslo because of the big hype that has being given to them since the coming of mbappe and from what am seeing, the guy is still struggling to meet up and even cope with the whole squad although ancelotti is still looking for that perfect match that would make their attack blend a bit although I still understand that they are really missing the presence of bellegham
Even if what we have been seeing is quite different from what we get to rate Madrid playing in the Champions league, we can't over exaggerate neither under speculate their performance but for sometime watching their La Liga fixtures haven't shown a more decent style of play or result that proves the better version of the team considering the Mbappe influence. Mbappe is a nice value to the team, not a hype and surely we may get to see the long awaited contribution to the team, just a little more time to blend in perfectly.

Although Atalanta sometimes managed to make a surprise in the Europa League and in Serie A but still, to make a surprise in the Champions League is not easy at all. So yes, even though it currently has a new format but I'm still not sure Atalanta is able to advance further in the Champions League. but even so, at least to qualify for the last 16 or maybe the quarter-finals basically Atalanta still has a chance but of course it won't be easy.

I am very sure Atalanta will make it to the round of 16 in the Champions League. They play Arsenal, Shakhtar, Celtic, Stuggart, Young Boys and Real Madrid. The only fixtures that look impossible for them here are Arsenal and Real Madrid, other than that they have a good chance of winning the rest of the other games.
Atalanta have started the season in a slow form and that has always been a problem of theirs. They start the season slowly and begin to get better as the season goes further. Despite that, I believe they will qualify for the round of 16.
I do not know if they will make it past the round of 16 because I don't know who they will be paired against, but I know they will get to the round of 16.
That’s the nature of Atlanta. Theirs always starts the season with very slow motion, but when the season has gone far, they will begin to perform much better against any team they meet with, but upon all their strongest in the middle of the season, it will be difficult for them to beat Arsenal and Real Madrid because those are the tough teams in the champions leagues that every team is afraid, especially Real Madrid, which signed up a better squad this season.
Nevertheless, I will not say that Atlanta will not get to the round of 16, but they will face a lot of challenges against some teams team before passing through, because even though they have good chances to win other games, there’s some games that they can definitely fail to win them. That’s all about football.

Hey I have checked the matches that Atalanta will play in the Champions League where they do not have a schedule to face Liverpool in the first round. Just check the match table where in 8 matches Atalanta only faced Arsenal, Shakhtar, Celtic, Vfb, Young Boys, Real Madrid, Strum and Barcelona. So the strongest opponents that Atalanta will face are of course several teams so they have to really focus if they want to advance to the next round.

On the other hand Liverpool is also very strong because so far they have shown an increasingly improving game under the guidance of Arne Slot. So there are many matches that they will play in the Champions League this season, I hope Salah et al can bring many surprises by defeating their opponents.
I don't think Atalanta is one of the teams that most interests me in the Champions League this season, but about Liverpool, yes.
Liverpool have improved under their new coach this season, but it is still too soon to give him much confidence. The Champions League is always difficult and not easy to predict, but there is optimism about Liverpool progressing to the last 16 considering the opponents they will face.

Leverkusen is one team that actually caught my attention. Their performance has declined in the Bundesliga, but they have time to improve it. Especially in the Champions League, Leverkusen is expected to play well and present some surprises, but they are not my favorites to be at least in the quarter-finals.

Anyway, Atalanta must minimize defeats if they intend to survive and also because the intensity of their training must be increased from now on.

Don't underestimate Atalanta, if you see their path they are a very tough team to face. The match against Real Madrid was mentioned, but just look at how he did in the Europa League.
They weren't all bad opponents and so in my opinion he has the chance to do very well. Of course I don't think he'll reach the semi-finals

Atalanta was underestimated by Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League finals last season but Atalanta gave them the defeat of the season but watching them in the league this season they yet to play as expected this season because they have not been winning matches S expected as a top team and the current Europa League champions. Atalanta game against Real Madrid did not end as expected because everyone wrote them  off since Real Madrid is already a bigger team who will not make mistakes that will see them lose the game against Atalanta and they final won but not in an easy way. Atalanta may manage to get to the knock out stage in the champions league but getting to the finals is not going to be easy for them unless they will work on the improvements of the performance of the team.

Despite the low expectations we are seeing from Real Madrid, I still think they’re a team that can make it far in the champions league. They are the kings of champions league and can always make their way through no matter the circumstances they find themselves in. Mbappe is just getting started in the club, he will adapt gradually and will give the team a very good record in the league games and champions league. I know he’ll do his best and I really have that great hope in him.

As my instincts currently tells me, Madrid can still perform wonders this tournament and probably carry the trophy home once again. In fact I expect more from them this tournament with the advent of Kylian Mbappé into the team he called his dream team. I expect that Mbappé will perform exceptionally working with the Real Madrid team than he did in PSG. Although the PSG club gave Mbappé the comfortability to exercise his talent, besides his salary was also good enough to cater for his life outside the pitch.

Real Madrid is already a big team that's known for their adequate strategies to achieve their goals through the ability to scout the best players and to bring out the best part of such players by grooming them effectively. Mbappé's zeal to work with Real Madrid and the club's management skill will drive them to success this season.

Last season, Atalanta made a surprise by beating Liverpool in the European League, which allowed Atalanta to advance further in the European League and ultimately win the European League title. And I'm curious whether Atalanta will be able to make a surprise in the Champions League too. And the opponent that Atalanta will face in the first round is one of the giants from the Premier League, namely Arsenal. The strengths of Arsenal and Liverpool are not much different. But it looks like I will predict Atalanta will experience defeat in this match. Because Arsenal under Arteta's coaching has turned into a strong team. Meanwhile, Atalanta has lost several important players in the transfer market. But I also consider Arsenal's mentality in the UCL which is sometimes not as good as when playing in the Premier League. So it's possible that my predictions could be wrong.

Meanwhile, if we talk about Liverpool then I am sure they will go far in the UCL this time. Because Arne Slot really looks like he can bring Liverpool to very good performance. He continued the job left by Klopp very well. But in the first round Liverpool will also directly face one of the big clubs from Italy, namely AC Milan. But Milan is currently not in good shape in Serie A. They have not managed to find good quality of play at the start of this season with their new coach. So I doubt AC Milan at UCL this time.

Atalanta was in a good form last season and that was why they were able to beat Liverpool and Leverkusen in finals to win the cup. The club sold some of their players and that affected the team performance. It is a shock to see how a strong team became so weak without playing matches. It seems that Italy teams can be very strong today and become vegetables tomorrow. This was what happened to Napoli too last season.

Honestly, Atalanta's performance was really good last season, but I don't think they had to be that great at the start of the competition. It was toward the middle of the season that their performance was well recognized, and they were in good form. Even this season, it is very possible that they will still do well. Losing matches in their domestic league doesn't mean that they are weak or that they won't improve later. The season has just started.

What people are worried about regarding their performance now is because they won the Europa Trophy last season. People's expectations are really high for the team. Even Real Madrid has dropped points in their domestic league, but that doesn't mean they won't win their league or even the Champions League. Let's see what happens in their upcoming matches.

Mbappe's transfer to Real Madrid raised expectations! Euro 2024 shortened his preseason. Even world-class players require time to adjust to a new squad and system. He has two goals, but its early.
This is among the reason I wasn't worried or really having doubts in Mbappe quality especially from the fact that Messi and Ronaldo when they left Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively to PSG and  Juventus, settling there wasn't easy at first, it took them time to get on the scoresheet on the league there.

This is about the squad finding its groove, not just Mbappe. That takes time and isnt always easy. And this new Champions League structure kills. Stress, exhaustion, and injuries increase with more games. Even for Real Madrid, it will be difficult.
I think Real Madrid would sign some players if need be during the January transfer window especially if they suffer much more injuries woes or maybe Ancelotti may just opt for academy players though I don't know how good are they but I think he will be able to sort things out since I know he doesn't really like signing players to avoid so many players lacking game time

Allow Mbappe and the team some breathing room. They have talent and potential. Its a long season, and success takes time. Even the best teams must work for it. I believe in this team and Mbappe. When they find their rhythm, watch out!
Mbappe so steal the spotlight that people failed to see or consider that all these is just to build a deadly trio on their attack ones it finally clicked then, things will just be much more better and probably makes us remember the BBC (Benzema, Bale and Christiano Ronaldo).

Real Madrid has defended the trophy countless times than even Manchester City and that is one of the benefits that they have is the experience of having played and won multiple times in La Liga they also have quite a history there, you see these two leagues they are always very consistent  and not just consistent they are always winning, the season that just passed they won the title that is both the la Liga and the champions league, they have been putting everything in place and their performance solid in their domestic league and Real Madrid have done all they could, we the Manchester City have the upper hand to win the champions league and we are ready even if they have mbappe we have better players than real Madrid and even last season we did not meet if not I already have a full assurance that we are going to win the champions league, as it is the truth does not seek validation the champions league title is already ours this season and we, real Madrid starting point in their domestic league is not yet settled.
I understand your point but I will want you to stop using emotions when making decisions in football. We have seen how bad Madrid team was last season, yet they eliminated your team Manchester City, and this season they have more attack than last season which I think should be easier for them to win the Champions League ahead of your team because the Champions League experience Madrid have was what exactly is helping them to win the title always, and it’s the reason why they are always considered consistently as the favorites to win the Champions League.
Nevertheless, they Madrid are also not perfect, they also have some lapses in their squad especially when it comes to defense, they also there are other teams in the Champions League currently that can also defeat them. I am not denying the fact that Madrid and Manchester City are the top favorites to win the Champions League, but I am not sure if any of them can win it, I am thinking the Champions League will be won by another team.

Usually a chance to participate in the champions league for those who aren't regular appearance in the champions League, it's regarded as an honor because how els would they have an opportunity to showcase their skills on a level ground with bigger teams of a very high world class standards outside their domestic leagues if not for the champions League and that could be one of the reasons to its prestigious nature. I don't know what it feels like you have regarded Arsenal as a stronger opponent than Liverpool against Atlanta in the champions League, I want you to remember that Liverpool is even more consistent in the champions league than Arsenal and are even more experienced than Arsenal so they are the biggest for me, if it were to be in premier league then I would consider that really differently.

But indeed,  even though Atalanta won the Europa League trophy last season, but Atalanta is still not a candidate team for the title because at least, Atalanta also still has to focus on its position in the Serie A standings. Thus, it will certainly be difficult for Atalanta to rotate players to have consistent results.

Seriously, many people are looking up to see how Real Madrid performance will be in the Champions League this season because of the hype they have all this while. You are right, Mbappe is still struggling to meet up with the expectations that people have had about him, as he still has yet to deliver the necessary result that Real Madrid fans have been hyping him for. Furthermore, in the La Liga up until now, Real Madrid's performance is not as tough as people are expecting; they are passing some little bit of weakness. I think Mbappe is still yet to enjoy the squad.

Atalanta was in a good form last season and that was why they were able to beat Liverpool and Leverkusen in finals to win the cup. Yoh are right, I think Atlanta made some wrong decision by selling some of their key players; they would have not done that so they could keep their performance consistently rather than being strong, and then the following season they are weak; that is too bad for them. They deafened Leverkusen, which was an unexpected move; nobody expected that would happen, but they did it. Instead, they should keep those key players that made them achieve the title last season; they sell some of them, and I believe not only Napoli, any team that can do such will really get weak.

UCL is a prestigious competition, all participants are the best clubs in their respective leagues, as well as Atalanta who were crowned Europa League champions after defeating Leverkusen. Atalanta is a new participant at this different level, they are ready to give maximum resistance, the ambition to qualify for the next phase is the main goal, a tough opponent is waiting. Facing Arsenal in the first match is clearly a tough challenge, but here I will not say Atalanta can win, but if targeting a draw it can be said to have a chance.

If it turns out Atlanta win Liverpool I may not be very surprised but then I will believe  it's probably a lucky day for Atlanta, in champions league it's usually a very different spirit altogether because they know how prestigious the trophy is, Liverpool is a much very and experienced team in the champions league than Atlanta and this has been the reason Liverpool has been seen as the favourite. Atlanta have a sound confidence currently dues to the fact that they win the Europa and even this season they are starting on a good start but then champions league is really different.

If Atalanta does not lower their performance as they were last season that they won the Europa League, they can be a good team to reckon on in the champions league. Liverpool is a strong team but in the champions league every team try to be their best and give their opponents tough time even though they’re going to lose the match. As for Atalanta, they are not a team to joke with or look down on by any team when they face in the champions league. They are full of surprises and may pull a stunt that everyone will be so shocked they made it to another round of the Champions League competition.

The UCL is yet to start but I'm pretty sure Real Madrid will go very far this season unless they improve and the team can understood itself because there was a similar situation like this when PSH had Mbappe, Messi abd Neymar on their team. Everyone thought they'd win it that year for sure but it's not always as it seems and Real Madrid is just the signs already. My thesis is wrong only if the Don finds a way to get his team back to strong, consistent winning days.

Atalanta is a big what if this year.
They lost 3 key players, Scamacca and Salvini for Injuries and Koopmeiners sold to Juventus.

They also changed a lot of less relevants players, so they will probably need some time to start rolling as they usually do.

Statistics say that Real Madrid is the best club in its consistency in the Champions League and also in La Liga, it can be seen from the number of times they can win the Champions League title and their consistent performance in La Liga. So with that I say that they are indeed the best club in the domestic league and in European competitions. This season they are also the favorites to win the Champions League again although that does not fully guarantee that they can do it again, because the competition in the Champions League is very tight. Moreover, they have not yet found their best game in La Liga, it's just that the Champions League has not started yet, therefore they still have enough time to fix it.

When Mbappe joined Real Madrid at the beginning of the season, everyone was so sure that they'd be off to a flying start. I know they did win the super cup but their recent performances have been nothing to write home about especially with the quality of squad they constantly field when they go up against any team.

The UCL is yet to start but I'm pretty sure Real Madrid will go very far this season unless they improve and the team can understood itself because there was a similar situation like this when PSH had Mbappe, Messi abd Neymar on their team. You are so funny but you are actually saying the true because Napoli really surprised me the following season of their champions, I believe even though they can't win again at least they should end up as runner up, unlike Manchester United that won champions league in 2008 and become the runner up the following season against Barcelona, with their performance then no one really blame them, but by the way that match was so boring as if it wasn't a champions league final, I will agree with you on Atalanta but even then they are not that strong but they only make use of the chances they got by eliminating the two teams people were anticipating to see any of them lifting the trophy.
