It's not just the number of transfers but also how the team forms around the available players and what strategy the manager/coach implements is going to matter. And it can change any team significantly over a time of 9 months. The draw also plays a significant role in deciding which teams would meet in finals.
If we are to look at the Champions league at what we have at hands, the chances of Real Madrid winning it again has significantly increased as they have signed one of the top forward in the world. They have a balanced team with good record at home league. They'd certainly be the favorite one.

At least one has to consider that Mbappe is not Kane. LOL! After all, Mbappe and PSG have never won the Champions League trophy and in fact PSG is not a team that always manages to qualify for the Champions League final. Except, if PSG always qualify for the Champions League final and then PSG always fail to win the trophy, then maybe this could be a curse.
