I agree. Bayern Munich’s weaknesses have just been exposed by Bayern Leverkusen and Aston Villa and like I said before in another thread, other opponents will now have the courage to face Bayern Munich without much pressure. I hope Vincent Kompany is able to change this impression in the coming games either in the domestic league or in the Champions League tournament.

I can't say Leverkusen brings out Bayern Weakness. Leverkusen knows ball, they won the last Bundesliga league without any loss, you don't expect Bayern to skin then alive when they met, they both made goals and draw which is fine but they messed up by losing to Aston Villa, it's one of the worst match they have played even when it's obvious that Bayern Munich played them alot but no goals for them but a loss of a match doesn't mean the can't go again.

My only fear is that their next match is going to be against Barcelona, two teams that have been dragged down on the table and want to do anything, it will look like another Derby because this two are kind of hot right now. Barcelona topped their domestic league and Bayern topped their domestic league, so it will be difficult to know who is going to win, it's better to play over 2.5 in this game than gamble both teams option, it will end in disappointment.

Bayern Munich may have falter while playing against those two teams but I don’t see them still not a team that can contend for the league title or the champions league. They may have faced some errors to have caused that which they ought to have by now rectified that. They should do better in their coming games in both competitions. I still have hope on Vincent Kompany to still make the the team do well in their games and be at the top.

I think Ten Hag was lucky against Porto because we saw Manchester United play with a weaker performance against Porto and, to be honest, I was expecting to see Porto win this match even with a better result but Manchester United didn't lose it and they got a 3-3 result.
The interesting thing about the game between Manchester United and Porto is about Harry Maguire. He scored the third goal for his team and saved his team in this match and he also saved Ten Hag from getting fired.

Was Ten Hag going to get fired if they had lost that match? I didn’t see such news and I was expecting a tough match which the match really turned out to be one. Eric Ten Hag still has a lot of time to spend with Manchester United because the team still trusts on his management and believes he will do better as the head coach of the team. FC Porto was not a small team neither was Manchester United, so the result of the match is fair in my opinion.

Exactly, the new format has made the league more interesting and unpredictable because I cannot say which of the clubs are the strongest currently since big clubs are also losing and small clubs are ahead of them on the table. It is after the group stage that those who qualify will be relieved from uncertainty.

Wednesday matches were surprising because how on earth will anyone think that those clubs will walk away with three points against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. I believe there are still lot of surprise for us in future.

Regardless of the pros and cons, the new format of the Champions League has provided quite interesting entertainment, with various surprises every week. Of course, in the future there will be more surprises, and it is quite difficult to predict. Favorite teams such as Madrid, Man City, Bayern Munchen must be more vigilant in the future, especially in the next 6 matches, because this season is very different from previous seasons. On the other hand, the international break is getting closer, teams that send their players to strengthen the National Team are in great concern. What is meant is, with the increasingly dense match schedule, it has the potential to make players susceptible to injury. If this happens, it will certainly disrupt the club's campaign in the Champions League, it is also a challenge for every manager this season.

Bayern Munich's draw against Leverkusen was acceptable, but Bayern Munich's loss to Aston Villa in a crucial Champions League match was unacceptable. It is normal for Leverkusen to draw in the local league against stronger teams and stronger teams than Aston Villa, but losing to a team like Aston Villa in an important match like the Champions League is not really normal. lready this season, Bayern Munich are expected to win the local league title as well as do well in the Champions League. If they perform like this at the moment, we have to forget that Bayern Munich can win the Bundesliga title or qualify for the semi-finals or final of the Champions League.

I was happy to see Bayern Munich getting that win against Dynamo Zagreb but I knew that was a mid team and enough folks on here gave enough praise to Vincent Kompany after that game. I wanted to see him against a tactically sound manager and he didn't do so well against Bayern Leverkusen and now Aston Villa ( Xabi Alonso and  Unai Emery ) sometimes I feel like he's not a good replacement for Thomas Tuchel but, enough games ahead to see if he'll be able to win the Bundesliga League Competition. Bayern Leverkusen and Aston Villa has just shown the world the weakness of Vincent Kompany..

Victory against a team like Dynamo Zagreb may not give us complete proof of Kompany ability, remembering that Dynamo is not a strong team so far, but I think when they face Leverkusen in the Bundesliga of course we have to admit that if Munich game has improved a lot despite the draw they got in end match, I think there are times when we have to look at it in a broader perspective on how judge a coach not judge just from the lose, but the improvement of the team to be better should also be able to get appreciation from us for that  the coach ability, we know that the kompany is young coach and does not have much experience like Unai Emery, so it is too early for us to say if he is a bad coach and even coaches like Tuchel, Guardiola and Ancelotti also has suffered losses from teams that are weaker than their team, however, with a long season to go by, there are still plenty of opportunities for Kompany to prove his ability in coaching.

It was a pretty interesting Champions League week with quite many surprising results.  Smiley  Emery's success over Bayern Munich, Benfica's shocking 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid and the unexpected loss by Real Madrid...

This makes the tournament more fun though. Because the competition gets more heated. Even the biggest title contenders struggle against smaller teams. We don't see any of them in top places after 2 weeks. We see teams like Dortmund, Brest, Benfica and so on. I know it is early but who knows maybe one of top contenders won't make it to top 8.

By the way next matches are going to continue as of October 22 because of the national break ahead.  Wink

Leipzig was pursuing a major win in a big match for a while and they gave a huge chance away. Probably a bigger chance. than they will ever get again. I was sure they would take home the victory after that tough red card and after theVAR penalty, but yet they failed again...

The truth is that it was a great match, here the Italian team played a very good game, of course I always thought that Leipzig could tie but it was not like that, I saw a lot of initiative in Leipzig's favor to win, however, opportunities in football do come back, that's why there are rematches, everything that is related to the good and the best for all the players, this time things did not go well for Leipzig, but it must be noted that things are very good for Juve, and Juve after having been through so much I am glad that they had a positive result.

Bayern Munich could not even win Leverkusen and I underestimated that they have known  exactly the pattern that bayern Munich is playing and thT is why it was very easy to match up to bayern Munich even because of their latest development and Leverkusen scored first but could not even manage the score that they have scored and Bayern Munich did not want to also let down their guard. Day by day everything is getting more interesting.

The match will actually give them more courage to be able to face them it is true and now bayern is doing very great at the moment. Kompany surprised a lot of people and am sure he won't be baking down from any club even after what happened with Leverkusen.

With this new format will certainly look more competitive because there are many teams competing at UCL today and the team that looks weak actually gives a surprise like yesterday's match. But for me like that defeat is common because every big team like Madrid and several other big teams has the right strategy and is able to qualify for the next round.
Currently it is still in the second match of 8 matches and later when the match enters the 4th period, surely the big team will begin to rise with a successive victory.
However, with this new formula it doesn't seem to change much in terms of competitiveness. In fact, with all these "mattress" teams taking part in the competition, I would say that it doesn't bring anything in terms of competitiveness. Teams like Bologna who have had an excellent championship are not teams that they bring nothing to the competition but this is the new standard and therefore we must stick to this!

Barcelona against young boys bern was a super one for the Barcelona's.
In this match fans were excited how their Players Played the match I see this their new coach has changed the players in their velocity .

Barcelona as a team having young players like Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres in their front, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo in their middle and Jules kounde in their defense with this their new coach Hansi Flick.

It was a kudos for the Barcelona's team ended the game on 5-0 against Young boys despites how good the Young boys team were in the game.

After that bad start by a Monaco loss, this was really needed. Barcelona were overwhelming their opponent on paper already and they showed it in action clearly too.  Grin  Hansi Flick era is just awesome!

There were really surprising results last night. I don't know from where to start...

Aston Villa really gave Bayern Munich an upset.  Grin  Emery magic continues! We didn't see Lille win coming either. Real Madrid are really unstable these days. Of course, it wouldn't be good to finish without mentioning the destruction by Benfica. 4-0 against Simeone's Atletico? Just incredible when you think Benfica weren't doing amazing in the Champions League for a quite while.
Football is full of surprises and last night games were full of surprises and a lot of gamblers lost their bet because no one will ever believe that Lille will win Real Madrid the defending champion and Benefica would humiliate Atletico Madrid to that extent.

Bayern who has never been beaten since Kompany took over a manager was defeated yesterday by an average English Club Aston Villa. It was a memorable day for Aston Villa as they were able to win Bayern who they have not being able to win in the past 46 years ago. I think the new Champions League format is kicking some clubs off their feet until they get adapted to it.

I was really surprised last night how Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could not even draw their match in the Uefa Champions League competition. When I saw the odds of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League competition, I was afraid they would find it hard to win their match in the Uefa Champions League, so I had to double chance both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but to my greatest surprise, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could not even play a draw with their opponent in the Uefa Champions League, and both matches spoiled my bet ticket.
Champions League is a different football league game where all the champions of Europe clubs are to play each teams.

It should not be a surprise to me if Real Madrid and Bayern Munich loose. Besides the two teams were away where they suffered their lost and home teams are almost the stronger teams than the away teams and it is eleven mans game where both teams are potential to win.

So let us recall that this a football and a champions league of investable.

The results of Aston Villa's match against Bayern were indeed popular even though the resulting score was only 1-0 for Aston Villa's victory, but of course the victory was very meaningful for Aston Villa, but yes, Bayern at that time played very well and from the perspective of ball control, Bayern was certainly better. control the ball a lot. but yes, in the match between Aston Villa and Bayern, the Aston Villa goalkeeper (Martinez) was so good that it made it difficult for the Bayern players to score goals.
This win of Aston Villa can be a big shock to Bayern Munich and many football fans in Europe but it's not surprising too much if you usually watch Premier League and Aston Villa matches. In the last two seasons, they grew up a lot and it's not coincidence and pure luckiness for them to be eligible for Champions League in this season.

The win against Bayern Munich is a strong voice from Aston Villa that their club quality is increasing as a sweet result of their good development strategies recent years. They don't stop and are continuing it as you can see their high standing in Premier League this season.
The win is a big one for Aston Villa and a huge morale booster for them. I was not expecting that win because they have limited champions league experience besides Bayern Munic seem to be very determine to win a trophy this season so they were expected not to lose such important match. That is why it is football and the side that took advantage of their opportunities won. I just feel pity for Manchester United that will be meeting Aston Villa next because they might still lose again and this may not go down well with their supporters who are already depressed by the poor performance of the Red Devils.

The match of the night for me was the loss of Bayern Munich to Aston villa, I mean I never really expected Bayern to lose to Aston villa and I don't know if anyone also was in shock like me. Well if it's was for any reason then it will be for the reason that I actually played that game in my betslip giving Bayern a win and over 2.5 goals but it was a total opposite of what I predicted.

Aston Villa did impressed me in their match by standing strong on their feet to win against the Bayern Munich making them rise up the table ladder significantly with the three points gathered. Torres did a great job by putting in the effort of assisting Duran in netting of the winning goal. I honestly didn't see that coming after both clubs had spent over 70 minutes battling for goals.

The Bayern Munich guys also put in their pressure but that was nothing to write home about since they couldn't penetrate the 18 yard box to score a winning goal for the Aston Villa. I also went further to check on the ball possessions and it showed Bayern was greater in performance.

Villa's only goal was purely Neuer's fault. He too often left his position. I don't know what the heck he was doing, but it's really bothering me to see that. He should just stand up, then wait in his position instead of always leaving his position.

Bayern Munich did a lot of pressure on this game. But, Villa's keeper excelled and reduced it.  They're so damn unfortunate in this game. Their player, Gnabry, got several chances to score, but he was so awful by missed it all.

But they were 2 goals ahead before the second half, I guess they were just relaxed they won it already because I know leipzig they are always a team that stays hard to win especially  when they are leading in a particular game. They've always been a major problem for clubs even Real Madrid and Mancity had a tough time playing with them last season besides i think that was what knocked Leipzig out early(they played top club in the last UCL, somehow repeating it self again though Smiley)and I've always noticed they don't go for huge win they just maintain it once they have a lead(maybe that went wrong aswell in their last game). So far they've lost their 2 games in the early opening of the UCL,I guess it gonna be tough for then this time around.
In my opinion this season Leipzig might have difficulty to qualify for the last 16 after I saw their 8 match schedules in UCL which are against quite tough clubs such as:
1) Atletico Madrid playing away (lost)
2) Juventus playing home (lost)
3) Liverpool playing home
4) Celtic playing away
5) Inter Milan playing away
6) Aston Villa playing home
7) Sporting CP playing home
8.) Sturm playing away

Among the 8 clubs, only clubs like Celtic, Sturm and Sporting CP are in my opinion not more difficult than the 5 clubs that I did not mention, they are elite clubs and are strong candidates in the Champions League, especially Aston Villa who just beat Bayern Munich so if Leipzig only wins in 3 matches, it is likely that they will not qualify for the last 16. It is very unfortunate that their opponents are so difficult in the 3rd match against Liverpool later, it seems that Leipzig will also experience 3rd defeat.

Whatever Leipzig does to compete in the UCL this season, I think it will be in vain, the only chance for them is to survive and be able to participate in the play-off round because I am not sure Leipzig is able to occupy the top 8 positions and above to be able to advance directly to the next round.
Look at the two UCL matches that Leipzig played against team that cannot be underestimated, Atletico Madrid and Juventus made them suffer defeat and could not have single point, on the other hand in the future there are several team that will be nightmare for them and that is match that is difficult to win.
Liverpool, Inter Milan, Aston Villa and Sporting will be the team that will certainly make it difficult for Leipzig to win and when these 4 team managed to beat Leipzig, they had total of 6 defeats and of course Leipzig position can be said to be no longer safe.
Honestly, I never expected much from team like Leipzig in the UCL competition and they will only be the team that suffers more defeats.

The new champions league format wasn’t what people don’t like because of it is increased number of games and this has nothing to do with making the league better. This for monetary reasons and not for the sport alone, this new feature though has big clubs dropping points to lower clubs.
One could argue that this unexpected result can happen with the old format too. IIRC Madrid lost to Sheriff in the past in the group stage too, so it should not be a surprise that a top team makes a mistake once or twice in the group stage. Liverpool also lost three times in the group stage when they won the Champions League iirc, so it's not that rare either.

That being said, the new format does offer more games to watch, which is not a bad thing to have as long as the players are still healthy after that. After all, watching a top team play like a third-tier club due to fatigue is not enjoyable either, at least for me. Sadly the biggest motivation for federations is money. CMIIW.

Well if it's was for any reason then it will be for the reason that I actually played that game in my betslip giving Bayern a win and over 2.5 goals but it was a total opposite of what I predicted.

The greatest shocks in football happens often when a small teams beats the bigger one after having more possession than them throughout the game. Bayern Munich was definitely the better team and they have the better chance to have won the game in the early stages of the game but luck was not just on their side. For Aston Villa to be able to hold them to the 70th+ minutes and also were able to defend the one goal scored after that time, shows how readily prepared they’re for this competition.

Bayern Munich didn’t see this coming just like we also didn’t see it. This should not make them weak of their performance, they’re still amongst the best teams in the champions league and this can happen to any big team also and not just them. The Bayern Munich team is a very great club and have shown every quality of being one. I still see them as a title contender and also going to make the playoffs in the next round of the champions league after the first round standings.
Currently I already get rid of that thought that thought  Smiley, yeah! the thought of thought of smaller team in UCL... they all played to their best before they could make the Uefa Champ. Lea. list  though we might have some category based on the performance and how well known a club could have been in their domestic league or even champions league  and true most times we always expect a win from the top team but I don't put my mind too much to their winning and at the same time I don't get too surprised  when they lose to  their opponent.
Thus, even domestic league are getting more competitive  these days and top teams getting humbled recently(I guess everything seem to be changing). The game between them could have ended draw actually but Aston villa defence was too strong to breach besides,  Aston villa isn't a small team...

We may all eventually realize that the aim of changing the format of the Champions League is to improve this competition for the better. Some people were against the decision to change the format, including some of the participating teams, but in the end they will enjoy it.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Milan and several other top teams have lost. They were all favorites in this round, but the competitiveness of the match has forced them to lose. But the next match will be difficult for Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as for their opponents. Dortmund vs Real Madrid, Bayern Munich vs Barcelona, are really tough matches for these 4 teams.

The new champions league format wasn’t what people don’t like because of it is increased number of games and this has nothing to do with making the league better. This for monetary reasons and not for the sport alone, this new feature though has big clubs dropping points to lower clubs.
