The new format will now be interesting but I'm not sure any English club will be able to compete for trophies other than Manchester City.
For the previous few seasons Liverpool could still do that but for now I want to relax my expectations for Liverpool because although they at the beginning of the domestic competition they played very well but in the end there are still doubts for Arne slot in this regard.

Liverpool can play well in the champions league as they have a history of winning. It is the same history that is helping real madrid to always be the team winning every time too. Liverpool already has 6 champions league therefore they can win more with or without a stronger team. Let say Real Madrid and Liverpool meets at the champions league final, Real Madrid might still win them as they have a better squad but it isn't going to be easy for Real Madrid as how it would had been when they hey meet a smaller team as Arsenal. Arsenal aren't a champions league team as they do not have any experience or heritage in the champions league.

But for the Galatasaray vs Young Boys match, maybe there are those who doubt it. remembering that Galatsaray lost to Young Boys in the first leg. but we have to remember that in the second half of the first leg, Galatasaray played well. And I think that will continue in this second leg.
I checked some betting websites and it seems most of them put higher votes for Galatasaray to win the match. Looks like the majority more or less share the same believe as yours.

I predict 4-2 for Galatasaray to win the game against Young Boys. I don't see how we wouldn't concede at least one goal either because our team is not that good. It doubts me if we will win the game with a cleansheet even in a home game. Although playing at home would boost our players' mentality to get a ticket to play in UCL.
Why 4-2 specifically? You think Young Boys can score more than 2 goals against your team? Compared to some predictions online, others believe Young Boys would score only 1 goal, with the key difference in how many Galatasaray will score. I see lots of prediction hovering around a 2-1 win and penalties, but surely it's possible to win with 3-1. CMIIW.

I think today's 3 matches in the second leg of the UCL playoffs will be quite easy for us to predict the results. We just need to look at the quality shown by them in the first leg. The 3 matches I mean are Galatasaray vs Young Boys, Sparta Prague vs Malmo and RB Salzburg vs Dynamo Kyiv.

My prediction is that Galatasaray, Sparta Prague and RB Salzburg will be the winners in today's match. Sparta Prague and RB Salzburg probably shouldn't be in doubt when it comes to the difference in quality with their opponents. But for the Galatasaray vs Young Boys match, maybe there are those who doubt it. remembering that Galatsaray lost to Young Boys in the first leg. but we have to remember that in the second half of the first leg, Galatasaray played well. Sparta Prague and Salzburg only need a draw when they play at home or at least a 1-0 defeat to secure their place in the main draw. Both teams had no pressure at all starting this match, apart from their status as hosts, they also both managed to win away games. Galatasaray must fight hard at their home ground, at least Galatasaray players must score two goals and prevent Young Boys players from scoring if they want to qualify for the main round. Now Young Boys are in a good position after winning the first leg, they only need a draw to qualify and I think the opportunity to appear in the UCL that is in front of their eyes will not be wasted.
Salzburg and Sparta secured a win in the first away match, I doubt very much that anything can stop them from achieving their goals, especially at home. Galatasaray is in a more difficult situation, they only need a win to take the match into extra time, or a win by two goals or more to end the match with a win in regular time. A draw is enough for Young Boys, but it is one thing to win at home, and another thing to play in Istanbul at Rams Park, where the support of Galatasaray fans will be very impressive, I think Galatasaray will win today.
Sparta and Salzburg will try to secure their victory in the second leg later, playing at home of course they have a lot of advantages to be able to at least secure a draw in the home match later, I think Salzburg and Sparta will probably find it easier to secure their chances of qualifying for the Champions League, because in addition to playing at home the opponent they are facing is actually not a team that can relatively make surprises,  Compared to Salzburg and Sparta, it is clear that the journey of the youngboys to secure their victory is very difficult in the second leg later, because Galatasaray will certainly maximize their home matches to get a victory as well as 1 Champions League ticket this season playing at the Galatasaray home is not something easy, especialy the quality of the players owned by Galatasaray is much better than the squad owned by the youngboy,  In addition to those three matches, we will also see how the Zagreb Dynamo today look to  easily win a one ticket at home after previously in the first leg they won 3-0 over Qarabag.

My predictions for the teams that will qualify for the Champions League this season:
1. Galatasaray.
2. Salzburg.
3. Sparta Prague.
4. Dynamo Zagreb.

If Galatasaray wins by one difference, the match will be extended; if they win by two different scores, they will advance to the round.
I believe that Galatasaray will also pass the tour. If Young Boys had not wasted the positions they had in the first match generously, they could have taken the field more easily this evening.

I believe we will pass to the UCL. We have to reach a two-goal difference at the very least to avoid going to extra time and penalties. Batshuayi has to start the game, or we'll perform badly like the first half of the first leg. He deserved it, and it is because he helped us a lot in the first leg by scored two goals.

Yes, Galatasaray, despite losing to Young Boys in the first leg, still has a good chance of turning things around at home to qualify for the Champions League group stage. Because they are at a disadvantage, Galatasaray will have to play offensively, at least until they can turn the situation around, in this crucial match. Galatasaray will also not be able to use their mainstay centec-back Bardakci due to suspension. Therefore, Young Boys' attack will have a lot easier time.

I believe the upcoming match will be very decisive and tense. Perhaps, a draw is a good result for both sides. It's just that if that happens, Galatasaray will have to sadly say goodbye to the Champions League this season. Young Boys' mission now is very simple, just need to draw with Galatasaray to be in the group stage.

I'm not so sure but I'll bet on Galatasaray. The odds offered by the bookies are also still leaning towards Galatasaray. they have to work hard to catch up on the 1 goal deficit. it is very possible to be chased. but there is also a possibility that both will still score in the match later.

another match, Sparta Prague vs Malmo. Sparta won 2-0 on aggregate and now they will also play at home. Sparta's chances of winning in the second leg are quite large. even the bookies are still offering a good Odd offer of 1.84
I haven't decided on a bet, but I might also bet on the match.

In addition to the Young Boys team who can play more intensely in the second leg later, Galatasaray who are the hosts will also try to build attacks and take advantage of every opportunity in order to win by more than one goal. Because it would be better to win by more than one goal than having to go through penalties because of being affected by the same aggregate, so both teams seem to be playing as well as possible in the second leg in order to qualify for the Champions League this season.
The home advantage may chance Galatasaray to show their best performance in front of the fans and fight not to disappoint, I see Young Boys is not better than Galatasaray if not for the penalty kick maybe Young Boys will not win easily I am sure in the second leg Galatasaray will be more focused and will not waste the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League, Galatasaray must be able to maintain their defense tightly so that the opposing club cannot increase their aggregate total at least by scoring 2:0 Galatasaray does not need a penalty shootout and they can win and qualify.
Galatasaray performance in Switzerland were not bad at all even they lost this match and have red card but still things were in good control for them now most chances at home they will be completely different side which will give his best for having spot into Champions League with their quality and performance having great improvement they are doing good in last few years while they were playing against Young Boys trailing by 2–0 at the end of first half was depressing movement, but they have done good fightback and have good end of their away game.

Now at home they will be having few good advantages chances are higher for them to have good lead and keep things under control for not having anything extra time or penalties shootout because this can bring some hectic for them and their players with Young Boys are also having good squad which can bring surprise in another game away from home.

The two most comfortable teams in the Play Offs are Sparta Prague and Salzburg. Because both of them won their first match away with a score of 0-2. Even if they lose by a margin at home tonight, they still qualify for the groups.

quindi : Real Madrid Manchester City Bayern Monaco PSG Liverpool Borussia Dortmund Lipsia Barcellona

Currently, there are still 7 teams that are unknown due to the playoffs. So it seems that prediction is quite difficult. Although I am sure that the big teams representing the league will be your strong candidates. The draw for the League Phase will be held this Thursday, August 29 at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco. But until now there are still 7 empty slots that are still up for grabs in Thursday's match. The new format of the UCL makes me a little curious, hopefully with this new format the match will be more interesting.

It's time for the Champions League again!  Smiley  I'm going to watch the Galatasaray - Young Boys match definitely. The first leg was really thrilling as you know. We watched 5 goals.

What do you say about this match? Will Galatasaray manage to make it to league phase?  Huh  My humble opinion is that they will make it one way or another. I don't expect an easy win first of all. We all saw how bad Galatasaray defense was. I don't expect it to be better this time either. But I expect a better attacking effort. They have very capable attackers. Even if it goes to extra time, I don't think they will lose to Young Boys.
I also favor Galatasaray in this match even though they are 1 aggregate behind Young Boys but I still have high hopes for Galatasaray's victory in the second leg because a 1 goal aggregate is not a big difference or they can dribble a penalty in this second leg but by trying to win in order to qualify for the League phase.

I made a bet that I think is quite risky with odds @3.76 including Galatasaray, Szalburg and Sparta Praha's victory even though it is clear that these clubs have won in the first leg with a score of 2:0 so in the second leg even though they get a draw they can still qualify but I expect them to win again because I see their opponents' defense is quite weak.

Away from the the UEFA Champions League qualifying games, the
2024/25 UCL will officially kick off in less than 1 month from now and to some of us, we can't just hold back the excitement of seeing club football's most prestigious competition return back to our screens again. As a Real Madrid fan, I'm very optimistic that the reigning European and Spanish champions stands a very good chance of retaining the competition. Do you think we're going to have a different winner? How about Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, do you think they'll steer themselves to glory once again this season?

Yes, I am thinking that your team Real Madrid will face some difficulties in their regaining the Champions League title because several teams are also well prepared just as Real Madrid did. Manchester City and Arsenal are two teams that can give Real Madrid tough time because these two teams can give Madrid tough time in the Champions League. Inter Milan is another team from the Seria A that can be a threat to Madrid, while Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen can be another teams to make the competition more tough for Madrid to win again this season. For the La Liga challenge, I will be in support of Madrid.

So I've just learned that the group stage of the UCL will be replaced by the new format, the League stage:
https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0268-12157d69ce2d-9f011c70f6fa-1000--new-format-for-champions-league-post-2024-everything-you-ne/
with similar changes done to the Europa League and the Conference League.

What's the community consensus on those changes? Do you think it's a step in a right direction? I have mixed feelings about this.

Real Madrid and Manchester City and several other teams from the Premier League could be tricky competitors for every candidate in the current Champions League. Because Real Madrid and Manchester City also still need to develop new strategies for their squads in order to compete better in this Champions League by following the new format. In addition, each fan who wants to see their team become champions is a very natural thing even though for now it is still too early to make predictions about who will win it.

In addition, Arsenal I think also not because they can only focus on 1 competition even though they improve in terms of performance but when working harder in several competitions at once they will slightly lose the stability they have which makes them lose everything and that has been proven in the last 2 seasons so besides Manchester City this season I'm not sure there will be another EPL club will be able to fight for the trophy in the Champions League.

The Champions League qualifying matches will be played tomorrow.
Galatasaray lost the first match 3-2 but I think they will win tomorrow night. Galatasaray is the home team and has the advantage. Muslera was very bad last week and we conceded 2 goals, Abdülkerim is suspended, this is a disadvantage for us.
I hope we win by 2 points tomorrow and continue in the Champions League.
Anything can happen at any time in football, but Galatasaray is the clear favorite.
It was very good that they got the score from 2-0 to 2-2 in the first match, but the penalty goal at the last minute broke their morale. If they get at least 2 different wins tomorrow, Galatasaray will continue on their way to the Champions League.
It would be very bad for Galatasaray if they were eliminated by a team like Young Boys.
I'm not sure what he'll do if he stays in the groups with this football.

I think many people will agree about the favorite teams to win this season, that Real Madrid and Manchester City are the two teams with the highest chances. While other contestants such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal, Inter Milan could exchange positions along the way, although in fact they all have the same chances before the competition starts. In addition, Leverkusen consistency seems to be a special attraction in the Champions League this season, where they are still continuing their positive trend in the Bundesliga until now. With the change in match format, of course it will make the competition more competitive, and actually it will make it difficult for us to predict, because this is the first time. Currently the play-off round has entered the 2nd Leg, and will be played in the next two days, and we will see the 36 contestants of the Champions League this season in full.
It is true, Real Madrid and Man City are still the most favorite teams to be the winner of UCL this season. Real Madrid has Mbappe now, people predicted they will be stronger in UCL. Meanwhile Man City still has almost similar squad, but they have some good new players. If we consider the current performance of Man City, no doubt they are very likely to go far in UCL. However, we don't underestimate other teams, there are many strong teams in UCL this season. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Leverkusen, and Liverpool are also strong teams that may have the same chance.

Anyway, surely the new format in UCL will be harder for each team. In the new format, there will be more matches, so the coach is expected to be careful in keeping the fitness of the players. This enhance the possibility of injury, the coach must deal with this challenge by more often rotating the players. The squad depth will be very crucial, the coaches need to prepare well the second tier players, too. This condition require the contribution of the second tier players,, they will have higher chance to play.
