I never said Madrid would not make it to the round of 16? Where did I say Madrid is not a big club, and where did I argue that Madrid doesn't have a winning mentality?
Everybody knows how Real Madrid is in this competition and no one is writing them off, so there's no point looking for an enemy where there is not.

I meant Madrid won't finish the league phase as the top 16, and it doesn't really matter if it's the top 16 or 24; they'll all play the playoffs.
Madrid plays Atalanta next and without Vinicius and Camavinga, it would be difficult for them to win that match, and if they don't win that match they'll go further down the table.
A win against Salsburg and Brest will only take them to a spot for the playoffs, but they won't get up to 16th position.

Real Madrid may not easily make it to the Super Sixteen but they may come back well when the equation is such that if they drop points in any of their next matches they will not qualify for the next round. But I still have full faith in Real Madrid that Real Madrid will definitely qualify for the next round.
