yes, in fact, that's exactly the problem, having so many teams that often end up clashing immediately in big matches, I must say that the formula is really chaotic and full of problems right now and we're only at the beginning, it will take time to fix get people used to this new formula, I sincerely preferred the old formula where we were all used to, they say they removed it because of favoritism, but to me it seems like they are ruining a competition
I don't think like that about the new format in the Champions League this season, because no matter what, everyone also needs to see how the conditions of the new format are this season. And if there are some teams that clash directly with big matches because of their difficult opponents, indeed in this Champions League nothing is easy for every team even though last season there was a slight difference because it was still the old format. So the teams that are here are teams that have been truly tested from everything including pressure and also in terms of facing their opponents.

Due to the new format of the Champions League, we will watch a preliminary round where many strong teams are matched against each other. The Bayern Munich match is very important for Barcelona. I don't think they will make many mistakes in the other matches this year. They will easily win the three matches you mentioned. However, the Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich matches will be decisive for them. The higher they finish in the rankings, the better it is for them. Barcelona wants to be the champion this year, they started the league very well, even though it is very difficult, why shouldn't they play well in the Champions League?
Barcelona's incredible start to the Spanish La Liga season doesn't translate to having a great campaign in the UEFA Champions League competition as well when the competition returns later this month. In the past, we've seen teams do exceptionally well in their respective leagues but fail to replicate their impressive performance in the UEFA Champions League and have also seen clubs win the UEFA Champions League and still fail to finish in the top two in their league table. That being said, I'm not tryna say that Barcelona can't win the Champions League but I'm saying we shouldn't mistake their impressive start to the season to being formidable enough to win the UCL as well.

Holyshit!!! How unlucky Barcelona is. They meet many germany teams. And having Bayern Munich as their opponent on match day 3 is a disaster for them. Also, group stage is going on till Jan end is crazy. Their thin squad must be fighting harder with their fitness. And i guess, their injury rates are going to shoot up due to the new format of UCL.

They're gonna face Dortmund and Munchen, and these clubs are real tests for them.

Barcelona doesn't have bad records against German teams so I think they can still end up dispatching their German opponents when they later meet each other this season in the UEFA Champions League. They have a German manager in Hansi Flick who has managed some German teams including Bayern Munich which he won the Champions League and the German Bundesliga title with in 2019/20 season and that I think is an added advantage for the current Spanish La Liga leaders. It's a very interesting season in the UCL and I can't wait for the new season to officially kick off.

It seems main and secondary teams would play key roles in helping a club reach the next stage.
For Barcelona, Bayern is going to be an equal strength for them and I'm not expecting they struggle so much, rather I believe they are going to have a balanced strength and the best team is going to win the game at the end of the day but then I expect to see a really interesting and thrilling game between these two teams, Barcelona so far has not been of a bad performance so far so has Bayern so I don't have doubts about what both teams will play and another interesting factor has to be with the fact that champions league comes with a different spirit such that all teams want to get the best off the league because of the nature of the champions league so you should expect to see different performance from various teams with even more enthusiasm than they had in their domestic leagues.

Well, that's a different thing in the Champions League with the new format that is applied. Usually in the first phase we will wait for which group will be the group of death, but now we are not only waiting for the group of death, but we are paying more attention to the big teams, because there are so many big matches and it should be normal for us to see them in the knockout round at least.
Can't wait to watch big matches like that, because surely many of us are also waiting for that. This will also be a fierce competition because of the league format in this early phase. There are only 8 teams that will qualify automatically to go to the last 16, while the other 16 teams must go through the play-off round (teams ranked 9 to 24.

Real Madrid will always be a favorite in this competition because, as you can see from the champion lists of the last 10 seasons, Real Madrid has dominated with 5 trophies. It may be hard for other teams to catch up with this achievement. There is an opinion that if you don't want Real Madrid to win the trophy, then don't let them reach the final matches, as their winning percentage in the final matches is over 80%.

Other teams, like Manchester City, can also be considered strong contenders, especially after the return of Gundogan making them even stronger. It's difficult to predict the winner of this season since the league has not started yet and the Champions League has a new format. However, other teams like PSG or Bayern Munich should not be ruled out, especially PSG who are performing well even without Mbappe in Ligue 1.
Real Madrid is the king of the Champions League. They've got a winning formula: tactical brilliance, mental fortitude, and a history that weighs heavy on their opponents. Reaching a final isn't just another game for them, it's a coronation. Currently, PSG's looking dangerous even without Mbappe. They're deep, they're adaptable. That's what you need for a long Champions League run. Bayern? Never count them out. They're always in the mix

The new format throws a wrench in the works, creates chaos. That chaos could be Real Madrid's kryptonite.  Any of these teams could knock them off balance early on. The key is strategy. Every team knows Real Madrid's strengths. Can they exploit their weaknesses? Can they stop them before they even reach the final? Because once they get there, it's game over
In the most important competition for European football, there will always be unexpected surprises and it is not easy to defend the UCL title considering that in every season there will always be team that appears dominant with the best performance alternately.
Real Madrid is the favorite but there are other team that are also favorites in this competition such as Manchester City which is even clearly given an advantage by several parties such as bookies, besides that it cannot be denied that PSG and Bayern Munich may be tough challengers or competitors in the future.
We will never really be able to predict what the competition will be like and who is the strongest, but we can understand that there are opportunities for each team that competes.

Well that the problem, in the new format we will see in competition that has more matches with different phases until finally they will really gather in the last 16 for reached the final.
Draw for the UCL in the new format 2024/25 has also been completed and we will see some big matches later, this will make it difficult for each team to compete for the title but this will provide more opportunities for each team because there will be play-off round to later enter the round of 16 for the remaining 8 team slots.

The remaining ones are more difficult of course. The Bayern Munich one is the most difficult one to me. Right after that the Dortmund one comes. They are one of the last finalists in the Champions League. I still want to believe in Hansi Flick's team to collect really good amount of points. I think it is time for Barcelona to wake up in this tournament also just as they have done in the La Liga this season.  Smiley

Arsenal have made changes to the squad but not significant changes. Almost 20 years have passed since we saw them win the Champions League title in the 2005/6 season and in those 20 years their achievements in the Champions League have been almost nil. This generation of them definitely wants a Champions League trophy. A new season of Champions League will start very soon and there are high expectations for Arsenal but like every time I think Arsenal will focus only on Premier League they will not focus much on Champions League. As many times they have come very close to winning the Premier League title and lost, they have to give more importance to the Premier League tournament as well as the Champions League tournament, although it will be difficult for them but they should do it.
Arsenal is the only one big four of Premier League team never winning UEFA Champion League trophy and most success achievement qualified until final round on season 2005/06 but defeating by Barcelona.
Actually Arsenal performance keep consistent last two season in domestic league and success pressure Manchester City waiting until the last game week become the winner but their performance inconsistent when playing in Champion League.

New UEFA Champion League format, Arsenal seems not face difficult opponent team and secure all three points of eight matches have opportunity get qualifying to knock out round. Considering the eight teams have to face in league phase round I think only PSG and Inter Milan are difficult opponent teams but have advantage with home match when facing PSG. I think Arsenal easily secure three points when facing Atalanta, Shakhtar, Sporting and AS Monaco.
All teams have big ambitions to win the Champions League trophy. Arsenal is one of the big teams in Europe that has never won the trophy. Every team always prepares the team more maturely in order to achieve success but the Champions League always holds a mystery and only Real Madrid is able to achieve extraordinary success on the European stage.

This season the Champions League comes with a new format, we don't know how the process is until each team qualifies for the knockout phase. Arsenal certainly has a chance to qualify considering that several teams are at a level below them. However, to achieve the championship seems rather difficult for The Gunners because teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City are still very strong and are always favored in the tournament.

Since the news about the new format of the Champions League has been circulating, to be honest I have not studied the detailed mechanism of the new format of the Champions League competition. However, if I try to review several teams, it seems that each team will play eight matches in the group phase, in short like that. Well, I don't know if this will be a polemic for the teams that are competing. But in my personal opinion, the most packed schedule is the Premier League team, because they also participate in several other competitions. So clearly, they need a lot of energy for this new format. However, if seen from another side, it seems that this is quite exciting and provides a different spectacle that we usually know in each season. So, each team will not meet twice in the group phase until they are confirmed to qualify for the last 16.

exactly you need a lot of energy, this will only drain energy from the kids' championships
they are practically making the local championships more boring because the teams will be so tired that they won't be able to have a good championship
unless they have a very large squad to do an excellent turnover

Real Madrid will always being an the favourite of this competition because you can see based on the champion lists in the last 10 season that Real Madrid is really dominate this competition with gets 5 trophies so these achievement possibly will be hard to pursued by any other teams even there was opinion about them that if don't want Real Madrid gets the trophy then don't ever let them reach to the final matches because according to the statistics Real Madrid has more than 80% winning percentages on the final matches of Liga champion

For other team just like Manchester City probably they also can be considered as strong contender for race title especially after the return of Gundogan it makes them more stronger  but it's hard to predict who is the winner of this season because the league hasn't starting yet especially Champion league has new format but we cannot ruled out other teams just like PSG or Bayern Munich especially PSG that they are really on fire without Mbappe at Ligue 1

The Champions League has a different atmosphere, it is not easy for any team to defend the title except Real Madrid. Although Real Madrid has a glorious history in the Champions League, they also cannot always look at it easily, they are always required to be disciplined and work hard to achieve the best results. For this season I do not predict that El Real will be easy again even though they have been equipped with Mbappe, but their chances are greater than other teams. Manchester City may be a strong candidate as a title challenger, they have a fairly capable squad.
Champions league winners over the years have across found it difficult defending the title over the years, except for Madrid who some how have be able to do it repeatedly others literal have the experience only once awhile after which they probably struggle to get it again.rrhis has made it felt like it will be okay to say Madrid has got the champion's league hack and are able to maintain a particular pattern around it. We know that they cannot always be too sure to win the title but this season they have gone far by making key transfer which increases their chances and like you said, champions league do have a different atmosphere so even if they may not be doing so well in their domestic league, rhw priority they are going to place on the champions league can get them to possibly win it again.

For some reason Barcelona is always faced with its past opponents and here Bayern Munich feels very happy to meet its old friends. Grin

This will be a repeat match like before where Barcelona will have a nightmare when facing Bayern Munich and even if you look at social media, one of Bayern Munich's veteran players, Thomas Muller, has started to greet them again. But apart from the drama, I'm pretty sure that Barcelona in the Champions League this season is not a team that can be joked about anymore and they are very ready with full strength to face their opponents.

If we talk about their chances of qualifying from this league phase, of course Blaugrana must be able to get every point from their mediocre opponents but if they lose points it will add to the burden they have to feel.

Anyway, besides Bayern Munich and Dortmund, I see Benfica and Atalanta will be quite tough opponents for them.
It is a tough group but I believe that Barcelona will qualify from this group no matter how difficult that their opponents are. The clubs that will give them tough time is Munich and Dortmund because they are well experienced in UCL.

Atalanta will not be a big challenge for Barcelona because it seems that they are not too strong like they wereasy season. Real Madrid won them 3-0 and Inter 4-0 this season so I don't expect much from them this season.

I'm really curious when it comes to what PSG will do in the CL this season. Because you know, they have been much better since the departure of Mbappe. They have remembered who they were in fact.  Grin  Because in Mbappe's times, PSG were building up their game over him. This was a big obstacle for a strong teamwork.

But PSG are great so far in the season. I love to watch the new signing Joao Neves also. He has 4 assists already. All in all, I think they will carry this performance to the CL too.

Their matches are pretty tough ones. That's clear. But this will help us see how strong they are about dealing with tough competitors also.
Paris Saint Germaine without doubt have been very impressive in the French league this season even after their former star player Kylian Mbappe left the club but looking at their UEFA Champions League opponents in the first round of the competition, I think it'll be very difficult for them to reach the next round. They're drawn to face big European heavyweights like Manchester City, Bayern Munich Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and others and considering the strength of these sides, you don't need anyone to tell you that it'll be difficult for Paris Saint Germaine to progress to the next round.
That being said, the club's manager Luis Enrique isn't an amateur on the competition because he once won it with Barcelona in 2015  which is why I think they have a pretty chance of surviving the round.
If we talk about ligue 1 of course we will not run out of words to praise PSG, so far they have proven that PSG is no longer dependent on Mbappe and even without Mbappe PSG can win two consecutive victories with create  total of 10 goals, and that of course we would think if they seemed more productive by putting aside their weak opponents,   While in the Champions League, of course, for now we cannot underestimate or favor them after the changes that are happening now, but if you ask about my personal opinion, obviously I will answer if PSG chances of stepping to far into the Champions League this season are very difficult, let's say they can qualify from the League phase defeat some teams that may very  weak than their in the League phase, But in the round of 16, of course, it will be difficult for them if they meet a strong team that has qualified from other league phase, especially so far PSG does not have a striker that they can really rely on when facing other European teams that are strong in defense.

It is very fitting that Real Madrid is considered a team that is always favored in the Champions League based on its success in dominating this competition. Although Real Madrid have been inconsistent in La Liga, they have always managed to maintain their best performance in the UCL and are always ambitious to win this most prestigious trophy. Currently only Manchester City has managed to reach Real Madrid level, City has always been consistent in maintaining its performance in the EPL and has performed fiercely in the UCL. This season looks like it will belong to Manchester City, but I also don't want to speculate too soon who will win the UCL trophy because the competition hasn't started yet. However, if you look at the quality and performance of the current team, Manchester City is the most worthy.

But I think this format will be very difficult to implement because it will drain time for the team playing in the Champions and will also have difficulty controlling the players because of fatigue due to the tight schedule, but this is a new journey we must give a good reaction even though later there will be cons of course with each club but this is their new way I think it will run by itself but at the beginning it will definitely be a little difficult and in the end they will enjoy it.

I don't know, you know, I still have to understand if I like this new format or not. The thing I noticed almost immediately is that we have many more games.
I don't know if that's good or bad honestly.
In any case, it gives teams the opportunity to return but with a very high cost in terms of energy spent: I don't know if it's really worth it.
This new Champions League format. Its a big change, and like any big change, it has its pluses and minuses. More games translate, on the one hand, more enthusiasm. For the spectators, its fantastic that big guns are going head-to-head more frequently. Right? That is what everyone wants. More elite football.

But given clubs in the Premier League specifically, its a demanding schedule. These men already play a lot of games, so this only piles on. It will truly test their squad depth and degree of fitness.

Now, is it worth it? That will rely on your search for something. Indeed, this structure offers if you wish more games, more drama, more excitement. It is rather a risk, though, if you are concerned about player fatigue and the general standard of the game.

It's difficult to predict the winner of this season since the league has not started yet and the Champions League has a new format. However, other teams like PSG or Bayern Munich should not be ruled out, especially PSG who are performing well even without Mbappe in Ligue 1.

Big matches comes too early this season because new format has just forcing PSG to facing several strong teams on League phase but in the last 2 matches in Ligue 1 i can says PSG performance is very fantastic because they can win with big scores and i think Luis Enrique has successfully to solved the problem by losing Mbappe because without him PSG even can performing well but indeed at League phase their journey is a bit hard because Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich is strong opponents for them

PSG will starting the match on League phase against Girona and i am confident they can win from this match but PSG has away matches against Arsenal and Bayern Munich so these probably the hardest matches for them because we all know whether Arsenal or Bayern Munich is very strong at their home and PSG shouldn't be lost from those matches because if PSG lost then their chances to advances to the next round would be difficult
