RB Leipzig vs Sporting

RB Leipzig (confirmed lineup): Maarten Vandevoordt, Lutsharel Geertruida, Willi Orban, El Chadaille Bitshiabu, David Raum, Xavi Simons, Nicolas Seiwald, Amadou Haidara, Christoph Baumgartner, Ikoma Lois Openda, Benjamin Sesko.

Sporting (confirmed lineup): Franco Israel, Ivan Fresneda, Ousmane Diomande, Jerry St. Juste, Maximiliano Araujo, Geny Catamo, Zeno Debast, Morten Hjulmand, Geova

These two are set to begin their 7th games of the competition but it seems that RB Leipzig have focus more on Bundesliga than the Champions League because in this competition they haven't recorded any victory since the starting of the league. They decide not to pick interest in the league because the performance excellently in Bundesliga compared to what they are performing here.

On the other hand sporting too lost their peg after losing their best coach to Manchester United but still Manchester United haven't find City suitable position.

If they had closed completely, they could have maintained the two-goal difference. They did not close completely and Benfica thought the match would probably end like this. Referee discussions.
It was a classy match, there were such positions in the match that the match result could have gone anywhere, could have gone to different places.
They said that the referee gave the victory from Benfica to Barcelona, but if Benfica had been more disciplined in defense, Benfica would have won this match.
The Barcelona vs Benfica match was the second best match I have ever seen. It is a matter of luck for football fans to see such a match. Such a match will always be unprecedented in football history. It is rare that after being behind 4-2 for 77 minutes, the final result of the match was 4-5. Especially the goal by Rafinha in the last minute was the best moment of the match that decided the result. Barcelona won with that goal. However, the match was somewhat controversial where the number of penalties was high.

Finally, I am very confused about the Barcelona team. Why can't they perform well against weaker teams in small matches despite performing exceptionally well against strong opponents in big matches? These things seem controversial to me. Do they go into the field with overconfidence? Or do they not take the matches seriously?

Paris Saint-Germain - Manchester City (I see Manchester City winning)

Most of the matches are likely to go as predicted but I've my doubts about PSG vs Manchester City game. City might have got back to winning ways but I'm still not convinced they can get a win at the French capital. I think this should be the match of the night because both teams chances of qualifying for the next round of the competition are hanging on the balance. PSG are not too good but they've only suffered one defeat at home and I don't see City making it two. I'm going for a home win or draw.

I also doubt City's current condition, even though their opponent is PSG, a team that is also experiencing difficulties in winning the match in the Champions League qualifiers. Interestingly, both teams will insist on each other to win this match. Whether it's Luis Enrique or Pep Guardiola, they will compete in tactics and prepare their teams to perform at their best, because there is prestige for both coaches who have previously coached the same team. Well, this match should provide high appeal for us as spectators and bettors. I try to refer to the predicted line-up of the two teams, Pep seems to be implementing a 4-1-4-1 pattern and while Paris Saint-Germains with 4-3-3. Actually I am quite doubtful about City's defense, especially if Pep Guardiola tries to rotate some of his players, in the PSG camp I doubt that they will be able to score goals against Manchester City. But I still have confidence that City can win this match, and I am sure that at least Haaland will score 1 or 2 goals against Paris Saint-Germains. if we also refer to the odds available, bookmakers do not favor either of these two teams. therefore, both PSG and City have the same probability of defeating each other. anyway, I am sure City will win this match even though they are playing at Paris Saint-Germain's home ground.

Manchester City against PSG, I will be rooting for City to win, the have dropped down the table and really need to win this game to stand a chance at qualification, my prediction is Manchester City to win against PSG and Real Madrid to win against Salzburg. It will be very disappointing if Madrid fail to reach the knockout stages and a win in this game is top priority at this time so it is a win for Madrid.
These four teams will play match today and Paris Saint-Germain football team will lose  match against Manchester City because Manchester City football team is high quality team and that team will give hundred percent to win this match. I am also in support of  Manchester City football team because that team won more matches against Paris Saint-Germain team . PSG stats are good and but that team will not win this match. Manchester City three players are injured and due this . Stones is the part of that team .We are actively watching the UEFA Champions League and Real Madrid will play today against Red Bull Salzburg . That match will be totally one sided and Real Madrid will win this match easily.

In this game against Benfica, Barcelona's goalkeeper was very bad, he was responsible for the second goal that Barcelona conceded, it was a clear mistake on his part, then he made another mistake that caused a penalty and Benfica managed to score the third goal. I think that Barcelona's goalkeeper is not very focused in this game and Barcelona's defenders didn't help much either, having conceded 4 goals in a game against Benfica is very bad.

Szczesny's mistakes in big games is now getting too much. Flick or the goalkeeper trainer needs to finds solution to those runs that he makes, especially when an attacking player is running towards him, because from what I have observed, he is not always lucky, as he ends up making contacting that sometimes affects the results of the game.
That aside, I think the game was very interesting to watch. 9 goals thriller in a single match. And as for Raphina, what a player he is. Plays well with both foot and both wing positions as well. He's having his best football career moment if you ask me.

Arsenal - Dinamo Zagreb (I see Arsenal winning)

Feyenoord - Bayern Munich (I see Bayern Munich winning)

Real Madrid - Red Bull Salzburg (I see Real Madrid winning)

Other interesting fixtures awaits us tonight, especially the PSG/Manchester City game. Tonight's game for both sides is very important, as a draw can even put both sides on a terrible spot(even though they're currently in a terrible position). I don't know why I keep having this feeling that the game will end in a draw, even though I don't want it to. Maybe. 2-2 draw, but certainly not a goalless draw.

It looks easy to say but hard to guess the truth. Cheesy

I know it is the favorite team that is chosen, maybe the bookies also favor the team mentioned as the winner, but the interesting thing is where Manchester City will win this is actually not easy, still doubt Manchester City will win as away... but we know PSG will fight hard to win at home.

Honestly, it is really easy to predict, but very hard for things to happen as predicted. You have selected the favorite teams to win the matches, and I fully agree based on their form. However, seriously, all of today’s matches will not be that easy for any team, except Arsenal against Dinamo Zagreb. Real Madrid’s match against Salzburg is the only other match I expect to be easy, but even then, anything can still happen.

From my observations, the toughest match of today will be PSG against Manchester City. Both teams need points to qualify for the next round, so I am expecting the match to be interesting and very tough. Despite Manchester City not currently being in great form and only just regaining their footing, I would still say they are the favorite team to win the game. Let’s see what happens. That said, in their recent domestic league matches, they have performed well.

Both teams have quite qualified players and are ready to beat each other in the match, so far they have met in 6 matches with 4 wins for manchester city, 1 win for PSG and 1 draw they achieved, if we look from head to head of the two teams of course manchester city is superior compared to PSG, but we can't deny that both are not in their best form this season so I don't think we will see a tight match in the match, because it looks like both teams will try to play carefully and not be careless to prevent defeat in the match, but despite the poor performance of the two teams, I think mentality will be Manchester city advantage in the match so I personally will favour them to win over PSG.
Btw, both teams have currently recruited some new players, quite curious to see if they will have a positive impact on the match later?
PSG and Manchester City have faced off a few times in the past and that statistic won't be of much use now. Manchester City are not the same performing team they used to be, but PSG are on the backfoot after losing their main player, so it is difficult to predict which team will actually win this Champions League match. Manchester City still have good quality star players so if Manchester City focus well on defense and midfield positions they can get full points against PSG. I don't see much chance for PSG to win this match, but if they change the plan, the win could go to Manchester City. In all the matches played in the Champions League so far, the two teams have not done very well and the positions of the two teams are very close in the points table. As there is only one point difference between the two teams, a win for PSG will see them overtake Manchester City and a win for Manchester City will see them move up the points table. So this Champions League match is very important for both teams.
Yep, they have met before especially in the 2020 and 2021 seasons they always meet in the Champions League but for now the situation is more different in my opinion so some previous matches may not be used as a benchmark for this match especially since both clubs have changed enough and of course PSG is also now still in a transitional phase which makes the situation a little more difficult for them.

Both clubs want full points to secure their position to be able to continue to the next phase and obviously this will definitely require a hard effort from both clubs so that they can secure full points in this match.

Although at first glance it seems that for now PSG is still inferior to Manchester City in terms of probability, especially with the depth of the squad that is still not fully closen to PSG, but they also cannot be underestimated because there could be a surprise in the end that happens in this match.

I don’t know if I am seeing it wrongly but I feel some few decisions the referee made was controversial and those decisions turned the around, a lot of people disagreed with the referee’s decisions yesterday and I think he favored Barcelona in my opinion but that being said, I think Benfica gave them room for that. After getting a 4-2 score line at 68 minutes I expected them to defend the goals with all they’ve got but they were still trying to go for more goals. It was really a poor strategy from them they game room for all what that happened to them.

Was a good comeback for Barcelona, Raphinha and Lewandowski are playing an important role for them this season and they are both having a good season but will their performance be enough for them to lead the team to victory?
Considering how well Benfica can play in defense, they should have taken care to pay attention to defense in the remaining time, but apparently they caught the courage and wanted to bring the match to an even higher score. And Barcelona likes such open football, they know how to score a lot and have proven it many times this season, I think Benfica should take this into account. Benfica's next match will have to be against Juventus, I don't know if they can count on winning this match.
If they had closed completely, they could have maintained the two-goal difference. They did not close completely and Benfica thought the match would probably end like this. Referee discussions.

Both teams are hard to predict which makes game interesting. Manchester City has good players but they have not been playing well consistently this season. PSG is struggling because they lost an important player. Result of game depends on how well Manchester City defends and controls middle of field and if PSG can adjust their plan. Since two teams are very close in standings with only one point between them  game is very important for both teams. Winning this game would be big deal for either team and it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top.

Any good analysis of the Sporting match?
I'm thinking of betting on the Portuguese team to win, the odds are 2.23, or I can wait a bit for the game to start and try the odds of at least 2.50 upwards

I know the Portuguese team well but I'm not following the German league very closely
Despite going through ups and downs, Sporting have a good team that can come together at any time and win again like they did at the start of the season
Gyökeres is always a player who can decide matches and has a high chance of scoring today

What a comeback by Barcelona indeed!  Grin

Honestly not every club have this belief in themselves. Hansi Flick's club are really different. Yeah, maybe lately things haven't been going very well for them in the La Liga.

However they still rock in the CL.  Cool  With this victory they have secured a ticket for top 8. They are currently one of the best clubs of the competition so far together with Liverpool.

What do you think? Will Barcelona reach the finale this year?

I said the second half could be different and it was as I thought. Barcelona managed to turn the game around despite being 4-2 down. They made a great comeback. Lewandowski's penalties and Raphinha's goals helped them win the match. Raphinha was very cold-blooded in his last second goal. He's really playing like a star this year. He's having a career season. He will collect the rewards at the end of the season.
It was an incredible comeback at the end, who were skeptical that Barcelona would win because they were two goals down [4-2] but things changed quickly towards the end of the match that was all put to good use especially Rapinha's final goal in the last minute was a highlight for all Barcelona fans because of the dramatic win.
Just like you, when Barcelona were 3-1 down against Benfica and  Benfica performance was still impressive in end first half, I also began to think that Barcelona defeat was inevitable at the end of the match, I only saw the match in the first half and did not continue to watch in the second half because I think Barcelona would clearly lose the match, But when I saw the final result of match it really surprised me because of the extraordinary comeback that Barcelona was able to make in end match, when I saw the footage of the match and in my opinion, Rotation made by Flick in the second half had a positive impact on their performance including when they played Garcia and Ferran Torres in the second half.

Champions League teams are really not just any team, for example during today's match, of course we have seen Benfica's match against Barcelona and this match was really exciting and entertaining because Benfica as the host appeared very impressive and Barcelona was behind by if I'm not mistaken at that time the score was 3 -1 for Benfica's advantage, but if the team and players don't have a good mentality, they will definitely give up in that situation and may face defeat. However, it is different from Barcelona, which has a strong mentality which always remains enthusiastic even though it was far behind Benfica at that time, but with full enthusiasm and the match was played with maximum strength, it finally produced good results which in the end Barcelona was able to win against Benfica with a score of 4-5 and This was a great match by Barcelona.

Source: https://bola.kompas.com/read/2025/01/22/05231938/hasil-benfica-vs-barcelona-4-5-barca-berjaya-dalam-drama-9-gol-di-stadion-cahaya
and honestly what I liked the most in this match was Raphael, he really was a savior for Barcelona and in the last minute he scored a goal which ultimately made Barcelona's score superior and of course Barcelona succeeded in getting 3 points. In my opinion, Barcelona will definitely have the potential to be a strong candidate to become champions in the Champions League and Flick as Barcelona's new coach will definitely want to bring Barcelona to become UCL champions. What do you all think, is it possible that Barcelona will be a strong candidate to become champion?
Benfica's performance last night was not only disappointing but unprofessional and also shameful, taking a three goal lead in the first half and loosing at the end of the day infront of your home fans is shameful and a show of disrespect to the fans that left their homes and businesses to come and show support to their home club. Barcelona once again gave their fans another masterclass showpiece which they would never forget in a long time, after conceding that third goal from the penalty spot, I thought it was over for the Spanish side but they didn't give up easily but they continued to fight until they got an equaliser and eventually got the winning goal at the last minute of extra time, making it the numerous times this season that they've had to come from behind to win.

If somebody told me that Benfica would lose to Barcelona, I wouldn't believe. When they are leading 4-2 and are already thinking that the game could end in a draw or Barcelona will lose. This season is the first time I have been impressed by Barcelona since I began watching football. They have demonstrated that they are in better shape this season and can compete with any club in the tournament. They have already qualified for the next round, and Flick has demonstrated that he is an excellent coach who will do everything in his power to win trophies for his team.

Barcelona will concentrate solely on the league until their final game against Atalanta in the UCL. Because I didn't expect Barcelona to perform like they did against Benfica yesterday. They play well against large clubs, but when they meet smaller clubs, they begin to perform poorly on the pitch. Flick only wants to know how he will fare with the small club, as that is where he generally struggles in the league. Manchester City and PSG are playing tonight, and that is the hardest game that will play today, and we don't really know who will earn the three points or whether it will be a draw game because no one wants to lose any point they can be a winner but difficult for the both clubs.

Although the points obtained are not very useful at least Bologna has proven that they are still fighting until the end, with the defeat of Borussia Dortmund making their coach, Nuri Sahin, aware that their defence is still very weak and vulnerable to attack, of course this defeat is a shame, Dortmund also lost earlier to Barcelona with a thin score, it is still reasonable we know Barcelona is very strong but the defeat of Bologna is very embarrassing.
Bologna bringing themselves back into action in last 11 games just 1 lost, and 6 wins mean they are now having good chance of staying into hung for another good season their draw against Inter Milan give them good confidence this win surely big boost even though chances are almost ended for them to have spot into top 24.

Bologna was well-balanced in second half while they never allow Borussia Dortmund for having any chance just 2 minutes 2 goals ended Dortmund chances for saving Nuri Şahin job who were under pressure due to poor run of form in this season.

This is going to be good experience for Bologna as they have first won in Champions League after 2 draws hopefully they will be on good run in remind season for getting better results and another season in Champions League.

If Pep does it, then Man City will win. But if Pep doesn't give his players strong motivation, Man City is currently in a slump.
PSG and Man City are both in a difficult position right now. They have to fight to bring each other down. Even if they share points, their position in the Champions League standings will not be good.
I still hope Man City will win and qualify for the knockout round. I believe they can still compete in the next round. But if PSG wins, maybe Man City will lose their chance to qualify.
I think it goes without saying, because one of the coach's duties is to motivate his players, so without us talking about it I'm sure every coach will do that, especially when they realize that they are not in a good condition because they have received many unsatisfactory results. This is a match like a life and death match for both clubs, so they will do their best in a crucial match like this. What I hope is that this match will be very entertaining, and actually I don't see who will win, because I want to see the match go very interestingly.
