I'm also thinking that Real Madrid will be eliminating Chelsea in this round of the CL. Maybe it won't be that easy as Chelsea still have a good defense. But Real Madrid are far better at attacking and scoring this season compared to the previous one. And as long as Benzema is able to play, they are going to be a huge threat to Chelsea in this matchup. And it is time to have their revenge on Chelsea too. Because last season, Chelsea eliminated them in the semi finals.

I also think Real will not be able to win against Chelsea. Chelsea are a very experienced team. I have seen the gameplay of Real Madrid against Barcelona. Was very weak. They will only win if Chelsea play offensively and keep Benzema at bay. Because whether or not Real Madrid's gameplay will be good depends a lot on Benzema's performance. On the other hand, the understanding among the Chelsea players is very good.
I would take Real Madrid ahead of Chelsea to go to the semi final but not  after I watch there game against Barcelona, Barcelona outplayed them in every department and win them with a heavy scoreline 0-4. Chelsea are doing well on there own and have lot of talented players that can curse real Madrid issue players like Kai Harvetz, Pulusic Lukaku on his day, but if Chelsea want to qualifying from this stage it will depend greatly on the fitness of Ngolo Kante.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid seems like a weak draw on paper, but I think it will be a tough one when they face off. Villarreal vs Bayern Munich seems easy to me on paper, but I think it will be challenging when they face off. I respect all the qualified teams in the next round of the Champions League. In my opinion, any team can beat any other. You are not prepared to be a champion if you are afraid to face any team at this stage of the competition.
I do not know what you are expecting from Chelsea vs Madrid. But one of them just recently managed to beat PSG in a dramatic fashion and the other is the last UCL champions. On the other hand Bayern is way too good, I get that it is an achievement to reach here and villareal should be seen as a good team but Bayern is just way too good to let a team like Villareal eliminate them.

I believe that the game between Chelsea and Madrid will be a lot better and I am sure that we will see plenty of situations where it will be goal opportunities and the game will fun to watch. I am expecting good form from both teams because they both believe they can beat each other.

Look at what the English teams are doing. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all in the champions league and at the same time are topping the English premier league. English clubs are showing a lot of promise in the Uefa champions league.

Fun fact: Spain also now has three clubs in the quarter-finals. But no one pays much attention to this, because apart from Real Madrid, the rest of the teams look like outsiders in their pairs. But this is football and knockout matches, so each team has a chance against each and purely statistically in one of the 4 pairs we should see a big surprise.
Representatives from England are now kings of Europe, it is proven that 3 teams from England have made it to the quarter-finals, it is very likely that 2 representatives from England will advance to the semi-finals, because Man City and Liferpol are facing a team that is below their level, but Chelsea is facing a difficult team. But if Real Madrid plays like they did against Barca, I'm sure Chelsea will win easily. If there's no banzema, it's certain that Real Madrid will be overwhelmed by Chelsea in the quarter-finals. Hopefully, all English teams can qualify for the semi-finals, as happened last year. then.
Looking at the strength of the English teams still around and the record of English teams in the competition in recent years, it is a likely outcome that English teams have the upper hand here. It's also important to note that Chelsea are not doing bad and are actually doing great at the moment. They have 12 wins in their last 13 matches, making them one of the most inform team in the world right now.

I think ok, this is going to be a hard nut to crack for everyone and the actual result of this match we will be able to get is after the match. otherwise, anything we predict can go wrong.

all I know is both the teams have the capability to win and advance to the next stage, both teams seem to be at the same level of performance right now. Even though the loss against Barcelona might feel a little harsh for Real Madrid fans, that math was not their main focus in my opinion. because they have to be ready for Chelsea in the Champions League.
We have four quarter-finals with all eight teams done some good work for reaching out here and prediction is not easy for any teams specially after watching last game between Real Madrid vs PSG because any team can change things in very quick way with their own ability currently two matches are surely having some good talk and both are from England and Spain first Real Madrid vs Chelsea most feeling Real Madrid have good chance.

But, many change their view after Real Madrid vs Barcelona game but here nothing is sure as these are quality teams with extraordinary players those are having talent to ruin any team right now any prediction is not easy in these both matches we have more than 2 weeks, so hopefully all will be good and interesting for fans.

The quarter-finals are not an easy match to predict too early to say Madrid won especially the first leg at Stamford Bridge
I have no doubts about Real Madrid  ability and experience it's just that in the champions league every team has to take advantage of opportunities when playing at home to secure points , I'm not sure Madrid won at Stamford Bridge even a draw is the best result.

I also hope the same.
Real Madrid is still quite decent even though Chelsea is seeded with its defending champion status.
Chelsea is currently still having problems with their front line. on the other hand they also still have problems in their internal so I think this will have a little effect.
Even though Madrid also still have problems when Benzema is not there but according to the news Benzema has started to return to training now and It is certain when this match will take place later he will be very fit

Yeah, I hope it translates into betting pressure for Chelsea so we get even better odds for Real closer to the game itself; I keep an eye out for ties like these to get magnificent odds especially in p2p markets.

Again, not saying they won't lose and not saying this is lasting as the squad is not getting younger nor fitter with every game but value is value and they are UCL royalty. Experience, game management, that all counts.
Real Madrid are a very experienced team in the Champions League and that will make them have a different mentality to other teams despite Chelsea being champions last season. There is clearly a difference in quality and team mentality between the two, but Real Madrid will not be considered weak by Chelsea.

Real Madrid's current squad is no longer as great as it used to be, that's true but I think they might still be able to reach the final this season if Chelsea, Atletico Madrid/Manchester City are beaten by them. It will be a tough game for Real Madrid to reach the final this season but about the betting odds then I think it will improve for Real Madrid. 3.50 - 3.35 - 2.09 for Real Madrid vs Chelsea match at now but it may still change.

Real Madrid won't qualify for the semifinals in my opinion, that's my prediction for them this season after they drew to meet Chelsea in the quarter-finals. They are no longer as strong as before in Europe as they were a few seasons ago with Zidane.

As Champions League champions last season, I also don't think Chelsea will reach the final again this season, but they will qualify for the semifinals. Real Madrid have not been convincing enough in their last few match where they have always struggled when Benzema was absent. There is no really good player at Real Madrid at the moment as a striker other than Benzema who has managed to bring Real Madrid to this stage. After Barcelona managed to explore Real Madrid's weakness in the El Clasico match, then I think Chelsea can also do it to qualify for the semifinals.
You don't have to judge a team by just one match. Real Madrid is a very strong and experienced club with a champion mindset. Chelsea this season looks weaker than it was last year, Real Madrid, on the contrary, is stronger. Without Benzema, Real Madrid's attack really looks weak, with his presence he keeps the opponent's defense in suspense and thereby pulls the players towards himself, and of course, consistently scores goals. I hope that Benzima will play in the Champions League matches with Chelsea.

Real Madrid has always been a team which can perform at the big stages consistently. The loss in La Liga does not mean too much at the moment for them I guess.  Smiley

They have an easy lead in La Liga. I think the main target of Real Madrid is to win against Chelsea right now. Even though it looks like Chelsea has a better squad I think Real Madrid might win this match and prove that they are great performers in bigger stages again.

For sure Real Madrid will not repeat the mistakes of last season when they met Chelsea and now they meet again of course it will be different from what we imagined, Benzema is currently injured but when it comes to the game I hope it will be fine and so will Chelsea the players for preparation later which wait two more weeks.
I think it's going to be a little different and I'm not sure who's in the lead because both of them have great quality players.

Their chances are still very big in my opinion, especially after beating PSG in the previous phase, of course this gives a stigma that they are one of the teams that can be reckoned with now.
Regardless of the past their strength is worth it at the moment both Chelsea and Madrid but indeed we also have to look in terms of players.
Madrid is currently very difficult when Benzema does not play, but on the other hand Chelsea are also still struggling in the front line

This match will mean a whole lot to both clubs. Real Madrid will want to secure their place in the next round likewise chelsea. But following Real Madrid's loss in the El classico the won't want to take chances of underestimating Chelsea and Chelsea who are good at defensive attack might just go for a single goal and decide to play defensive in the both legs
Of course it will be very meaningful in this match considering Chelsea were the defending champions last season.
In my opinion, the defeat to El classico will not affect the result, but Real Madrid has a distinctive charismatic presence in the champions league and that was how it was proven when playing with PSG in the second leg, now with Chelsea it is a slightly different story but in terms of attack who will be more aggressive and sharp in front of the opponent.

Not at all discounting the size of the blip -- and full credit to Barca for restoring hope and confidence in their rebuilding campaign spearheaded by Xavi (and dare I say Auba?). But blips are allowed, and sometimes even necessary, if you believe in the philosophies of football that dictate teams need a wakeup call every now and then especially when there's a big cushion in the league lead.

I remember when Liverpool lost 7-frikking-2 to Villa last season and yes, it was humiliating, it broke records and it was a horror show but it was a blip (one of several no doubt, but I note also that was a crazy season without defenders). We've seen big blips from champions this season, Bochum v Bayern for example. Ajax blip over 2 legs (it has to count right?).

You're right of course, Ancelotti shouldn't let his defenders off easy even if he's taken all the blame but I still think they're value odds to bet on against Chelsea.

I don’t follow the history of changing odds from bookmakers, but if I think logically, I can assume that now Real Madrid has begun to be quoted worse than before the meeting with Barcelona. But how do you correctly write such a kind of "random" result is nothing more than a fluctuation and it is wrong to draw conclusions based on it. Therefore, if the odds of Real Madrid have increased, then betting on it now will be value betting.

English teams in recent champions league seasons have proven to be forces to reckon with. They are clearly sides that no team in the world would prefer to go against. Manchester City being the most terrific of all, even though they do not have the experience of winning the champions league, their tantalizing style of play under the tactician, Pep Guardiola is a revolutionary style of play that can only be matched by a few in the game. Generally, the three English teams left in the competition have the best coaches in the world and this alone gives them upper hand in the competition.
Liverpool and City are lucky to face a relatively easier opponents although ATM might resist a bit. In the semifinal, we will see at least 2 EPL teams, Bayern and either Real Madrid or Chelsea. That particular game is hard to predict. Afterwards, it is a little bit complicated and City will have equal chance to progress or not. It is another opportunity for them to lift the title this season, hopefully they will get it once!

I think that the English Premier League should be the best team in the Champions League because the English Premier League is the most competitive league in the world right now.
Every team and even the weaker teams have the ability to upset the bigger teams from time to time. And that's why the teams in English Premier League are a lot tougher. For me, I think it will be unacceptable if the English teams don't do well in the Champions League actually.

Well i definitely agree with you that the english teams are the big favorites to win the Champions League this year. Manchester City is probably the biggest favorite of them all, followed by Liverpool and then maybe Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all 3 at the same level i would say. That the english teams are so dominatn is not really a surprise to me. The big difference is that the english clubs just have way more money to spend in comparison to Bayern Munich for example because the clubs of the premier league get way more money from the TV stations then the Bundesliga clubs for example. The premier league gets 5,5 billion € for 3 seasons (1,83 B€ per season) while the bundesliga gets 4,4 Billion € for 4 seasons (1,1 B€ per season), which is a huge difference and in addition to that german clubs need to own at least 51% of the clubs themself, which is a good thing in my opinion because that way there are no sheikhs or oligarchs which can purchase football clubs for fun like in Paris, Chelsea or ManCity, but of course this also means that this money is missing.
So the english teams will always have a big financial advantage and it will be very hard for Bayern Munich to stay competitive in the next years in my opinion.

Yes and also, even though Spain or La Liga have three representatives including Madrid, Atletico and Villarreal but at this moment it seems representatives from England or the EPL promise better results. I don't care about Bayern Munich, which is still available in the quarter-finals, because I really believe it looks like the final will bring together teams from England again like the previous season where the final match was Chelsea v Manchester City. But for this season, these three EPL teams are looking very good and even, Chelsea who are having problems in fact Chelsea still looks fine and these three teams from EPL have a big chance to get to the final.
No doubt English teams have the upper hand in this season’s UEFA Champions League, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, who are the reigning Champions league winners are still in the competition. They are still competitive teams from other leagues still in the competition, the likes of Real Madrid from the Spanish la liga and Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga who pose major threat to the chances of an English team winning it.
Agree and also, Germany which only has 1 team that is a regular participant in the UCL but honestly Bayern Munich is a scary team for any team it faces and there are not many German teams or maybe none that can match Bayern Munich's achievements so far in the UCL. In fact, Dortmund itself is a competitor to Bayern Munich in the Budesliga, basically still not performing better in the UCL. Although several times they reached the quarter-finals and also reached the final in the 2012/2013 season, it was still not enough for Dortmund to match their eternal rivals.

La Liga have problems with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Athletico Madrid have still been there but they are less competitive than latest seasons. Real Madrid have tradition in Champions League and they just beat PSG in surprise of all but they rely on Benzema too much and it is not good for them.

Will we witness another season with England final in Champions League? I don't know but their clubs from Manchester City, Liverpool to Chelsea actually have good quality to beat others. They can do it but there are some barriers from 2 La Liga clubs and Bayern Muchen. Let's see until the end of quarter final matches.
