^ Come on guys, you really think Real gets distracted for a blip in La Liga? They probably knew they were coming into that game with their weakest side in years against a resurgent Barca. And they would happily have rested Benzema even if he were half-fit, in preparation for Chelsea.

Chelsea are the favourites, and rightly so, but Real have experience and streetsmarts. Way too much of both to be affected by the El Clasico sidequest.
It's true, even though Real Madrid had a poor result in La Liga, in its El Clasico duel, Real Madrid is not a team that is as weak as mentally crushed. Even though they got a result that took people by surprise, I'm sure in the Champions League they will come back, yes they will come back with a win.
Chelsea are also the favorites in this encounter, but again, I'm sure that Real Madrid will be able to handle it.
I wouldn't consider real madrid to be weak team because of their performance against Barcelona in laliga,  sometimes are like that   you can just always expect good performance from a team.  Time like this when a team performance is so low it encourages the team to do better to perform well.

My expectation from the Chelsea - Real Madrid draw is that Real Madrid can move Chelsea out of this tournament this time. They had a bad experience against Chelsea last season. I don't think that the history will repeat itself here. We are all seeing a much stronger Real Madrid in this season until this point. We all saw how they destroyed PSG despite being in a bad situation first. And I don't see the same Chelsea in this season. I don't feel like they can eliminate Real Madrid once again by this level of performance.
Real Madrid has been lost in El Classico Laliga. Will it also give influence to the mental of the players? Although maybe they purposely did not play hard because they want to save their power to play against Chelsea.
But exactly, bot Real Madrid and Chelsea are a big clubs, they may be drawn in the first leg, but something interesting and surprising may be also existed during the game and probably will be a surprising result of the game. At least, they must let all power to face each other in the field and to prove wihc one is better
I would like to see how Real Madrid would have destroyed Paris Saint-Germain if it hadn't been for Donnarumma's dude trick and the subsequent collapse of the entire game of the club from Paris Wink Also, a lot will depend on whether Benzema will participate in the match, because Real Madrid with Benzema and Real Madrid without Benzema are two big differences and the current El Classico showed all this with great clarity. Therefore, for me personally, the result of the match between Real Madrid and Chelsea is by no means obvious, despite the bright victory of Real Madrid in the match with Paris Saint-Germain, which until a certain time was also by no means obvious.
Real Madrid this season is very dependent on Karim Benzema with his absence in the EL Clasico, making Real Madrid have to accept the defeat to Barcelona with a big score without reply, so if Benzema can not appear later when Real Madrid against Chelsea in the quarter-finals then this will be a good chance for the chelsea team to win the game, but their chelsea team also have to play much better and not make the slightest mistake so as not to waste this good opportunity.

Chelsea is a team that should not be underestimated. They recently won the Champions League, and in that season they were definitely not favorites to win the tournament. What they showed in the tournament then was very convincing. Didn't they easily win at Real Madrid with 0-1 or 0-2? That should have been 0-4 then. And in London 0-0 I seem to remember. Real didn't stand a chance against this roughly comparable team in those 2 games.
Now things are different at every club including the coach too, like the current Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti who has a lot of experience in drafting players for the Champions League and that has been proven in the past before Zidane became Real Madrid coach last season.
So obviously there will be a difference for this season at Real Madrid even though what Real Madrid are up against is last season's trophy winners.
Maybe a bit different for Chelsea. In the past, they played enjoy without the pressure because they haven't the trophy, but now they have the burden as defending champion, I'm not sure they play loose even as host on 7th April. Real Madrid looks on fire and Benzema's performance is still very good, but Ancelotti sometimes is playing too defensive where is the possible draw or loss with 1 different goal.

PSG's squad was strong, but PSG was defeated due to a lack of mutual understanding between the players. But Chelsea will not make the same mistake as PSG. Chelsea has a strong squad. Their performance in the Premier League is also consistent. Moreover, if Chelsea's defenders will stop Benzema, they will be able to win. Real Madrid rely on Benzema's goals to win against strong teams.

With Messi, Neymar, Mbappe and others, we all agree that PSG is a strong team. But the fact is that a strong team with many star players may
not necessarily win, because what's interesting about football is that it takes solid cooperation between players in order to win. This has not been
owned by PSG so far, Pochettino in my opinion failed to make the star players at PSG able to work well together. So it's not surprising that PSG
were finally knocked out of the Champions League.

While Real Madrid has good cooperation between one player and another. But the problem with Real Madrid is they depend too much on Benzema
to score goals. So like you said if Chelsea defenders are able to stop Benzema there is a chance Chelsea can beat Real Madrid. And I'm sure with
Tuchel's experience, he knows that too and will order Chelsea players to limit the movement of Benzema. Actually, both Chelsea and Real Madrid
have the same chance to win, because both have almost the same quality of players. But why do I prefer Real Madrid, because Real Madrid has
a history of winning the Champions League more and that's what makes the mentality of Real Madrid players stronger than Chelsea.

It is very interesting to see Real Madrid and Chelsea meet again in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Previously, Chelsea and Real Madrid had met five times, from those five meetings Chelsea never lost to Real Madrid, Chelsea won 3 times and drew 2 times.
This meeting, Real Madrid will carry out the mission of revenge for the bad results obtained from Chelsea, Real Madrid must get rid of Chelsea from the Champions League or even those who is again stopped by the English club.

Chelsea have cemented themselves as one of the biggest club in the world not just because of their successes in recent years but due to how they have been able to be consistent in the face of adversity. Not too many club can face these sanctions and disruption in club's hierarchy and still perform this good. This mentality alone should make Madrid worried. I will bet Chelsea to qualify ahead of them because this team has been more consistent and strong mentally.
No doubt Chelsea is now one off the best clubs in world, but they are currently at third spot in Premier League, and it all happened just because of their unpredictable results, so they are improving but now going to face another best club around the globe which is having amazing results under manager Ancelotti in this season and in last round as they defeat PSG it's surely their best part of this season so here we are going to face two clubs with equal in performance and skilled players so on his day any team can win and go through into semifinal which is next destination for these all teams.

For me, Real Madrid is having better chance for qualifying with their last results they are really high in confidence and their most players are improving very good after this win against giants of French Soccer.
When Chelsea started this season they started as Europa Champions, their poor performance was as a result of the absence of their players due to injuries, in the last two months many of their players are returning and their side have gotten stronger.

Actually, I would have believed that Chelsea would win, but unfortunately political factors also play an important role at the moment. I find it sad that a traditional club like Chelsea is currently being put under so much pressure. It's not fair to the fans. I wish Chelsea could defend their title but can they do it?
I agree with you that what is happening to Chelsea in terms of politics is something very unfair, not only to Chelsea fans, but to all Football fans. Political issues should not be included in the sport of football.
I believe Chelsea will be able to stay until the end of the 2021/2022 season with a good performance and I see Chelsea very focused on every competition they are in. Lastly they also won against Middlesbrough. But against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League will be a big challenge for them.

Chelsea performances show that they can still eliminate real Madrid from this tournament because they did it last season, and they will still do it again in this season. Since Chelsea players are fully prepared to defeat real Madrid team which is among the strong team in this tournament that can challenge Chelsea. PSG players missed a lot of opportunities in their last match that gave real Madrid opportunity to achive victory at th end of the match. Chelsea team is different from other teams, in terms of using different strategies to achieve victory which Chelsea coach is capable for in this season and he is willing to introduce more strategies that will give them victory at the end of the tournament.

Indeed, Chelsea should not be underestimated, it applies not only to Chelsea but also to all the teams that compete, especially in this Champions League. We will always witness surprises, not only for the big favorite teams but also for the teams that have the title of "dark horse" because they are not underdogs.
They must have prepared the best strategy to continue to appear and fight for the title.

I won't bet on this event either because I'm not sure who will win, I just think Chelsea will be stronger, that's all.
That's good. Better to avoid placing a bet when you are not sure which team to win.  Grin

When Chelsea started this season they started as Europa Champions, their poor performance was as a result of the absence of their players due to injuries, in the last two months many of their players are returning and their side have gotten stronger.
They only showed a little bad performance in EPL, but they usually showed good performance in UCL this season. It happened several weeks ago, they have improved their performance lately. In EPL, they won all 5 latest matches, and they also won all the matches in the last round in UCL. Moreover, all the injured players have returned to play, they surely become stronger right now.

Many have dismissed the chances of smaller or less popular clubs to reach the semi-finals since most of them were drawn against the top clubs in europe. I still would love to see more surprises and teams like Atletico Madrid could pull it off. Imagine bringing down two Manchester clubs in one season hehe.
Everyone wants to see a surprise and wants to see an unseeded team reach the final and beat a big team, but it is very difficult to beat a big team like Manchester city, ...
Nah. It not everyone wants to see the surprises you guys wish for especially people like me who place a bet on the less chance club to lose the game and just like ropyu1978 it is difficult to defeat the big club....
Yes betting on the underdog with juicy odds is definitely part of the wish for an upset. It's also called an upset or surprise for the very reason that it won't be easy. A "David vs Goliath" match is a good story to tell and sell to fans.

....

Well, I was one of them! OK for Atletico, they are a good team and they are certainly in better shape than United, I did not expect Villareal to pass, in the end, both teams went further and now they are waiting for much more dangerous opponents! I’m not sure how much Villareal can do against Bayern, they have shown they know how to play even under pressure, but Bayern is much more dangerous than Juventus! The same can be said for Atletico, they are playing against City, which is much better than United in every aspect, and this season they are playing top football, they can even take the title, who knows! It will be interesting to watch these little Davids against Goliaths, I hope they will be able to do something more and maybe move to the semi-final!

I don't think that Villarreal is going to do well against Bayern Munich because obviously Bayern  Munich is a very e high-skilled team and Villareal is not at the same level as them.
Atletico Madrid is certainly playing well but against Manchester City, I really don't give them much chance to win. City has a better squad in my opinion even though they are facing some problems at the moment.

I think Munich is the most dangerous team this season so it's just tough luck for Villareal.

Atletico Madrid seems more "explosive" to me than any of the smaller teams and can play great football in a short time. It's the reason I think they are the team that will most likely pull an upset.

What you should understand is that Chelsea is facing a lot of challenges right now as the current war in Ukraine have brought a lot of sets back for Chelsea and that will affect their performance in the champion league, the end has not come and I will advise Chelsea fans not to lose hope.

I think that this is definitely the end for Atletico Madrid at this stage of the Champions League. Because their opponent in the quarter finals is Manchester City. And Manchester City are one of the biggest contenders for the title here. Atletico Madrid did a great job by eliminating Manchester United for sure. But Manchester United were a team that had serious defense problems then. This was the main reason for Atletico Madrid to make it here. But maybe in Spain, Atletico Madrid can compete well with them.
