Because they have a really powerful player like Mohamed Salah. And it is not just about him. Their squad quality is really high now and everyone at the team is capable of scoring or making a big contribution in another way.

Mo Salah has an issue of not been consistent all through the season, he starts brilliantly then all of a sudden he stops scoring and after some weeks he resume scoring. Or he starts poorly then pick up as the season progress. I just hope this season would not be like that for him because if Liverpool are to win any silverware this season, they will need him.

Liverpool plays brilliant football, they are one of my pick to win it this season also. I just believe the trophy will be retained in England. All best managers are here. This is the toughest league now and are worthy of producing the champions of Europe. We also have very talented players in the Liverpool team, Mene do has his role to play as well.

Actually when it comes to this season, Mohamed Salah has been quite consistent for a long time. In his last 10 official games at Liverpool, he scored goal(s) in 8 of those games. And he scored 15 goals and made 6 assists in 14 games which is another very impressive statistics. But I understand that you mean this could change at some point in this season. I hope that it doesn't. He is a very crucial player for Liverpool and he has a huge contribution to the team.
Such impressive stats are some of the reasons Salah is demanding for more money and if he continues with this brilliant performance...the club will be forced to meet his demands! Just how old is Salah by the way, trying to calculate his chances of succeeding.

it seemed like people were taking Inter's chance to promote for granted. And I also was thinking of whether they would finish the group as the leader or the second. But after the first two games, I was in a complete shock to be honest. Inter were able to collect only one point after facing Real Madrid and Shakhtar. And after seeing Sheriff's unexpectedly high performance, Inter's job seemed to be really tough. But Inter still ended Sheriff by the same score (3-1) consecutively and have taken the advantage. There are still two games to be played but Inter should be able to advance from now on.
When these groups are tabled after the draws we all speculate on which teams are likely to go through, and 60% of the time we are usually wrong about it when the results start coming in Roll Eyes, and inter is among those teams we thought had a safe passage to the next stage but are now in a place we can not imagine they will find themselves in a few months back. I guess they need to comeback strong for the next spell of UEFA games if they can finish in the top 4 this season.

Milan is drawing a successful graphic in Serie A, but it could not show the same success in the champions league. They were able to collect 1 point in 4 matches. They are in the last row of group B. I even see the probability of finishing the group in third place low. It may be an early farewell from Milan. Beşiktaş could not score in Group C.  They lost the chance to leave the group and the chance to continue in the European league. Liverpool and Ajax won 4/4 in these two groups and left the group with 12 points.
Milan couldn't compete in CL with such performance. If their intention is to focus on Serie A then I would say good choice, at least better than wasting energy and risking injuries for nothing.
they can't compete anymore here 2 more games left in the group phase their opponents are liverpool and athletico madrid. they will only be able to survive in this match I think because indeed these two clubs are the most superior in group B. a draw is a good thing for them at the moment.
on the other hand they may really really have to really focus on Serie A because indeed they are in a pretty good trend there and they have to take advantage of this momentum to be able to bring back the trophy after a long time the Serie A champion trophy disappeared from the San Siro.

Yeah sure, Sherrif got 2 games but do we really assume that they would go up? It is obvious from the start that Inter would go up and that is what is going to happen as well. I get that nobody expected a team like Sheriff to be this close, it is like a fairy tale for them to be even third and go to europa to be honest, most of the time people expected them to lose every single game, maybe even get dominated so hard that they would get 5-0 and worse scores as well.

I am happy that it didn't happen that way, and it is good to see low level teams to finally give a fight to the big clubs and it is always fun to watch Real Madrid losing. However none of that changes a thing, it is definitely a good situation for Inter right now.

Nevertheless,am still seeing roma and juventus as the top teams to battle for the Titans of italians seria A.
Milan has only had a chance to surpass few club in seria A doesn't guarantee their overtime success. If you said that they can also venture in the champions league, have you thought about how many clubs are they and the history of the former championship? Can Milan defeat Chelsea on their current form?
If yes, then they can sail through

Not at all. The only reason that Roma is relatively highly ranked in the table is because the other teams suck. Roma loses almost every second game. et they are ranked fifth. On the other hand look at how Milan and Napoli are doing. That is the benchmark. Roma won't play an important role in this competition.

Inter have made a really huge comeback in their group. They had two consecutive games against Sheriff Tiraspol. Inter managed to defeat them by 3-1 in both games and captured the second place with 7 points being 2 points behind the leader, Real Madrid. Before these games, Sheriff got 6 points and Inter got only 1 point. It feels really good to see Inter bringing the situation to this level. But I still appreciate Sheriff's high effort a lot. Teams like Real Madrid, Inter and Shakhtar all are difficult to beat for them normally. Even if they don't qualify for the next round, they will be remembered by this performance.

If I remember correctly, Inter's odds of reaching the playoff stage after two rounds were around 1.3, that is, it was regarded as a very likely event. Now this figure is 1.07 for Inter and 1.01 for Real. Sheriff really played well and was lucky in a couple of games, but as we can see from the odds, the bookmakers evaluated these temporary achievements as random and most likely were right.

These two random victories of the Sheriff may well play into his hands ... it all depends on how Real will play with Inter and whether the Sheriff wins the return match at Shakhtar's home field. although I would not call Kiev, Donetsk's home field, (although you yourself know the state of affairs). Even if the Brazilians [considering that the gender of Shakhtar's team is Latin Americans] beat the Sheriff, I doubt that the Moldovans will be ruined by the entry into the Europa League.

If we are talking about the Sheriff's prospects to get into the Champions League playoffs, then the match between Real and Inter is unimportant, since in the next round Real will beat the Sheriff and the pair of Inter and Real will become unattainable for Shakhtar and Sheriff. If we are talking about Sheriff's prospects to get into the Europa League, then everything has already been decided here - in the next round, Inter will beat Shakhtar and the last round will not be important. In theory, surprises are possible (like a draw in the Inter-Shakhtar match), but they are extremely unlikely. For example, the odds that Inter will not make it to the playoffs are now 6.9, and for Real it is 27.

The Sheriff is definitely the biggest surprise this season in all European competitions.
Already in the qualifiers, they made a big surprise when they beat Crvena Zvezda and Dinamo, and in the same way they continued in the group of the Champions League when they beat Real and Shakhtar.
Now they are in a very good situation and have a great chance to win a minimum of third place in the group and ensure the passage of the group and the continuation of competition in the European League.
Sheriff is a very well organized club that fully deserved all these victories and no one gave them anything.
Still, I wouldn’t really bet that all your predictions for this Champions League group will be fully fulfilled.
There have already been very big surprises in this group and it is not guaranteed that Inter will beat Sheriff, anything is still possible in this group.

Milan is almost out to have a small chance they need to beat Atletico with 2 goals of advantage and hope for a bad result of Atletico with Porto.
Inter recovered from the bad start of the group stage and now they just need some draws to get the access to the final stage.

Borussia is also in a delicate spot.
The win Inter got over Sheriff was critical, Sheriff had to at worst get a draw so they could keep their advantage over Inter, then they could afford to lose against Real Madrid and they will have a chance during the last match against the Shakhtar Donetsk, but now with the loss they have to win both of their last games, something that is not going to be easy as now they are going to be under pressure to perform, the only good news is the face Real Madrid on their stadium but it is still going to be a very difficult match for them to win.
Group D is quite crucial at the moment because the difference in points from the three Madrid clubs, Inter and the Sheriff is only two and three points, Even though Real Madrid are currently seeded with 9 points but their position is not safe as group winners because there are tough opponents to face in the rest the next two games, the decider against the Sheriff in the next match and Inter Milan must be able to get full points from Shakhtar Donesk if they want to keep any chance of qualifying for the next round.

In last few seasons he is very crucial and important part of this Liverpool squad with his best performance if he has nothing serious issue in rest of season I am having feeling for him, he can take top scorer rank and go through best player for them. With some good support from other few players, they can do very impressive for this season. Few critics believe he is not consistence, but it's happen to any player because they are humans, and they have some good and bad time all going with them in all seasons.

Right now thing going to his favor is they have very good unit which is capable of having good back up for all players if someone has bad time then secondly can cover this in good way.

actually in this match I prefer leipzig's performance both in attack and defense.
I felt in this match PSG were not like they used to be and as you said they wasted more chances and this is actually very detrimental.
It's a shame that leipzig's first penalty missed because I really wanted to see them win this game
It doesn't really matter if PSG had a tie or even a loss in this game because they are already "there". I mean it is obvious that we will see PSG go to next stage and they are going to face someone at higher level. What they get on these games do not matter that much anymore and they will be fine. Obviously it is not going to be easy to win the whole UCL this way, they need to get better but the next stage is so far off and they will probably get that too, so it s going to be a bit more time before they face an elimination situation. During that period the team will be more ready, they will have more chemistry and they will be fine.

I don't think a premier league team will win/retain the Champions League, I see Italians taking this one this time around.

PSG played an away match against Leipzig last night and missed the chance of beating them. It ended by a 2-2 draw. This kind of results are not very good for PSG if they really want to win the title this season. Maybe they won't have much problem on advancing to the next round. But they need to perform much better than this to be assertive about winning the title.

Imagine if next turn they will lose with Manchester and then they will risk being out from the Champions League at the group stage.  Grin
PSG's next match will be away to Manchester City, even though they lost in that match, I think PSG's points in Group A are still safe.
but they had to fight against Club Bruges in the last match of the group stage, because Club Bruges still have a chance to qualify if their next fixture can win the match.
Even so I am still very confident that the ones who will qualify in this group are PSG and City.
Club brugge on the other hand is one of the dark horses and indeed probably pretty much the same as the sheriffs in group D.
but they will only finish 3rd in the group and being in UEL I think is good enough for them.
