Japan will no longer host the Fifa world club cup due to pandemic, this means that the UEFA will have to give another hosting right to covid19 free zone, maybe we are going to see the competition in euro this year.

Quote from: bbcnews.com
Fifa said the Japanese Football Association (JFA) told them on Thursday that "it is no longer in a position" to host the competition. The annual tournament features the champions of the different continents, with Chelsea qualifying this year as Champions League winners. Fifa said details about an alternative host will be announced in due course. While Japan hosted both the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, the country is under a state of emergency and currently grappling with its worst ever Covid wave. The 2021 event was set to be the ninth time the tournament had been hosted in Japan and would have coincided with the JFA's 100th anniversary celebrations. Bayern Munich won the 2020 Club World Cup, which was played in Qatar in February 2021 after being postposed because of the pandemic.

So, even though at PSG Messi is a new player but I'm sure it's not a problem for him about adapting, because star players will always be respected wherever they are.
You are right. As a star player, he must be respected by all PSG players. Many of them even have a dream to play with him, so it makes sense if those players will do their best to support Messi in adapting to PSG team. Also, they must know if Messi can do his best performance, it will bring a good impact to the club achievement this season. Since they have a big intention to win UCL and League titles, giving big supports to Messi is a must.  Wink

After signing Messi, I wonder whether he will be the key player instead of Mbappe from now on. Barcelona were doing this all the time and benefited from his goals and assists a lot. But I feel like PSG won't have the exact same game plan like Barcelona. They can't run the risk of letting Mbappe fall behind Messi. Maybe it is Mbappe's last season but of course PSG aren't overlooking him now. Because they need Mbappe, Messi and Neymar all at the same time to perform their best. They are targeting the championship.

Let's see what PSG will do in their group stage matches. We are only a few days away from the CL matches to start. PSG are gonna be the away side against Club Brugge. Most people are curious about what Pochettino will do with a great lineup like this. In this match, PSG shouldn't have much problem on destroying their opponent. The hardest matches will be against Manchester City. As they also are one of the candidates for the title, if PSG perform strongly against them, I will start believing more that they can win the title too.
This is one of those matches with high expectations. I hope Pochettino doesn't get confused with his line-up. Because I presume majority of Barcelona fans  swapped to PSG after Messi's transfer and would be so eager to watch him blend with his new teammates and how good he could be with adapting to a different game pattern from what he has always played

That's exactly one of the reasons I stated "Messi can adapt well to PSG game style" because he already knows well some key players in PSG. Regarding adaptation with Wijnaldum and Mbappe, I think he just needs less than 5 matches to know well their characteristics in playing. Messi is a smart player and it makes him can reach the top level, so we don't be afraid he can adapt with all PSG players. Also, he is already experiencing as a captain of Argentina's national team for some years. It makes him have a great ability to know each player's characteristics.
Honestly he won Copa America finally this year, but he has been playing with his national team for so long without winning anything at all. That should tell you that it is not always so easy for Messi to adapt to any player that easily, certainly not under 5 games. However, these players are not that much of a stranger to him, I still think Mbappe will be a difficult one but aside from that PSG will definitely be a team that is dangerous to play for anyone in the world. They just need to build chemistry up, forget about all this Mbappe crisis, play to win and get a good strategy from the manager that will be perfect fit for this club as well.
We cannot really blame Messi about why it took so long for him to win anything with his national team, you must understand that in Argentina he was never seen as one of them and even the fans were extremely harsh on Messi while other players did not like him and this affected the chemistry of the team, if anything it is a testament to the skills of Messi he won anything and he reached a World Cup Final, if he had opted to play for Spain instead as he was offered then Spain could have won an additional World Cup with Messi on their Team.

I'm curious to see if Christiano Ronaldo can win a title with Manchester United this year. It probably won't be enough for the Champions League, but maybe the national championship or one of the English Cup competitions is possible. After his great career in Spain and Italy, I would love to see Ronaldo win another title at his old home, Manchester United. Knowing Ronaldo, he naturally has the incentive to win another English title. So we should get ready for an exciting season.
Well, we will definitely see a lot of goals this season, but the fact is that Ronaldo is not the only star of Manchester United. And in my humble opinion and as much as I would not like to admit it, but "people from the city of Heath" more successfully than others closed the transfer window, (even if you don't take into account Ronaldo). But if we talk about incentives, then it is worth considering that his career is coming to an end, and he will definitely not miss the opportunity to finally gain a foothold in the milestones in the history of the Premier League, (correct me if I missed something). Pochettino has a lot to do. Lots of stars and talented players in the team. It is not to be expected that there will be a friendly relationship between all the players. The players will have conflicts, there will be quarrels, the coach will have to solve all these. Moreover, there are many new players in the team. They need to cooperate so that they can adapt quickly to the unique players of the team. If the coach does not fulfill his responsibilities properly, there will be chaos in the team.

It's actually not easy to deal with a team that has so many good players.
Pochettino's first challenge will be to decide between Navas and Donnarumma, which of them will be called up to defend PSG's goal?
Donnarumma has just joined PSG after the Euro Cup and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but Navas' experience as a PSG starter who has always delivered an excellent performance makes it difficult to pull him out of the goal.

Anyway, this is just one of the "problems" that Pochettino has, it is necessary to manage this team with firm reins, a lot of responsibility and technique.

You are right. Who will be the goalkeeper of PSG is a very important decision. They have two experienced goalkeepers. It is difficult to guess who is more experienced.  Pocchettino might play by swiping between the two. PSG has spent a lot of money to get Donnarumma in the team. PSG did not spend that much money to put him on the bench. I think the coach will give Donnarumma a chance to perform in an important match.

Basically Messi is a player who has an above average level, it makes many other players want to play with him and so at least they will adapt to Messi's playing style. So, even though at PSG Messi is a new player but I'm sure it's not a problem for him about adapting, because star players will always be respected wherever they are.

Not so, there are many players who in their golden age, he was a super star, when he moved to another club, he started to lose his best ability because he failed to adapt or because of other factors such as injury. Torres, Kaka are examples of stars who failed to shine after moving clubs. This proves that it is also not easy for a star player to adapt to his new club. Likewise with Messi, although I have no doubts about his abilities, but with a new club, new teammate players, sometimes it is not easy for him. Messi must also be aware of this.

am I missing the announcement, or we will not have Champions League pool this season?
it is less than a week before start, and probably latest to have meaningful number of participants

nevertheless, it does seem that Group stage will not be that interesting this season, there is too many groups with two strong teams, and two that hardly can compete with top2, so next round participants are almost known and only dilemma is who will catch third place to continue in Europa League
it feels like that, and if you check odds for qualifying, it just confirm it

Cristiano Ronaldo's first Champions League game at Manchester United is going to be against Young Boys in five days. It is really good to see Ronaldo being back here and I wonder how he will perform in the Champions League also. Manchester United are the highly favourite team here of course. Even if it is an away game, Manchester United should be able to win this game comfortably and have a good start. Maybe Ronaldo would score also as I guess that he will be in the starting eleven.

Hopefully Ronaldo will play in this match. With all due respect to the opposition, this is a weak team and a good opportunity to advance the legendary Ronaldo record for the most goals scored in the Champions League. By the way, I am sure that this record will be broken by other players simply because of the format of the competition, but if Ronaldo now increases it, I will be glad.

I think Donnarumma's choice will be obvious, Navas is not getting younger every year, although he is still a very good goalkeeper. I think that the main problem for Pochatinno will not be the choice of who to put in the main squad, because all the players will be very motivated to show their best game in order to get into the squad. the main problem will be to maintain the discipline in the team and remain the authority for the players, because managing such personalities is the most difficult task.
Life for Keylor Navas hasn't been the best but actually good though somehow. He helped Real Madrid win 3 UEFA Champions league in a row then they brought in Thibaut Courtois, hence plàyed as the second goal keeper in Real Madrid. Now he's in Paris Saint German and suddenly Donnaruna has arrived and soon or later he might become secondary. Mario Pochettino has to rotate the two world class goal keepers. But ideally, Keylor is the most experienced and also is the first choice goal keeper, Donnarumma has to be patient and wait for his time. I think this was what happened to Szczesny and Buffon in Juventus. The younger Goalkeeper had to exercised patience till he started featuring in game.

With so many stars in the team, Pocchetinno doesn't have much to do. In fact, almost all the managers wouldn't need to do much. Strategy and formations are known to all and with this team, I wonder how you can make it wrong. Of course, Pocchetinno is a very good manager and I can't see anything that can go bad (besides injuries). PSG this season is among the 3 teams that I expect to reach the semi-finals...

we can assume that since he is experienced, he will be able to adapt. Because he has previous playing experience with many players on the team.
Basically, it is not always easy to adapt but I believe Messi can deal with a new challenge. Not only he has experience playing with various players in his national team, but he is a smart player as well. We can guess he is smart from his playing style and his achievement so far. Another thing that makes him possibly be easier in adaptation is some PSG key players familiar enough with Messi. So, Messi knows how those players style in playing. And it may help him a bit to adapt with the players.

The only mole in the ream is Mbappe and the faster they get rip of him the better for the whole team, dude is very selfish in his game play, he always want to get the headline to himself not minding the other players and secondly he is not a good fan of Messi. Neymar, Messi, Di Maria will do more better than having Mbappe in the team

Messi's presence in the PSG team will really lift and boost my their moral, and would want to make them win the champions.

You are right. Messi's move to PSG gives the team another huge boost. However, it is much more important that Kylian Mbappe will play another season at PSG. In my opinion, PSG's squad this season is just crazy. I can't think of any other club in the last ten years that has had such top-class players in their team. They are by far the biggest favorites to win the CL this season.

The same impact that Christiano Ronaldo has on Manchester United that Messi will have on PSG team too. They are two big players that we expect big from this season. For Christiano,I know he is really going to make Man-united tittle contenders this season.

I'm curious to see if Christiano Ronaldo can win a title with Manchester United this year. It probably won't be enough for the Champions League, but maybe the national championship or one of the English Cup competitions is possible.
