Still contemplating a Sheriff upset today, but surely they can't win again, can they? Odds also aren't so great and keep dropping so unless I see a major boost, I'm sticking with not making any bets today (Benfica knifed me good last night, as I should expect).

Now Monaco 24/10 looks good value and yes, I know, they've been off to an incredibly crappy start to the season but they'll want to salvage the season with at least UCL group stage football right?

It's good to see the result of the second leg match between PSV - Benfica match the prediction with a draw and in fact, Benfica played with only 10 men from the 32' minute. Here it is proven that Benfica has a strong and good defense as I predicted before, but I don't understand how a team as strong as PSV can't even score 1 goal against 10 players even playing at home. With this result, PSV still cannot break Benfica's dominance in the European and champions leagues. It's a shame indeed, considering this is the right moment but PSV still can't make the most of this moment so there is still no change to their head to heat record, Benfica still dominates.

It happens,,, off days to everyone. According to Sportsbet, the last 5 games between these two teams met with 4 goals minimum, and now game number 6 did not even give a goal. 0-0 must have been at least 10x for that!

Benfica are a big mirror of the nation Portugal,,, they know how to play knockout tournaments very well  Cheesy

Today, Dinamo Zagreb have a really difficult work to do. They shocked everyone by losing to Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0 away. Dinamo are the favourite team of this draw in the end. This is a huge loss for them. They will want to make up for this loss today and try to turn things around to be able to qualify for the group stage. They actually started good to their national league. They should be good enough to make a comeback from this first leg result. But to be honest, it seems very hard for them.
Yes they did shocked every one loosing a match like that with that margin as well 3-0 . No one would have thought of that score line. Dont know what happened with them on that day as they are an excellent team and i also back them to make a strong comeback now.

since my last night predictions were as far from the truth, as one can be, I will try today again:

- in Zagreb, I expect Sheriff with a bus in front of the goal, and it will difficult for Dinamo, they need fast goal, but I not sure they are going to score soon enough to make a match interesting one, Sheriff seemed as solid team during these qualifications, and Dinamo really needs a miracle, which is not something that they can prove with their form (man, they let Hajduk to top Croatian league)
- Brondby will have a hard time against Salzburg, and I do not expect them to reach close to pass-through, Salzburg will probably win tonight
- most interesting one will be in Ukraine, Monaco needs a win there, and I expect match with goals, that could go on every side, o2.5 has value

Dinamo is lucky that they scrapped the away goal rule, with that active I'd say they have no chance of progressing. In an open game like this I expect Sheriff to score so I'll be going for both BTTS and over 3,5 goals bets.
Same here, but I will limit myself to both to score market, feel like over 3.5 is a bit too risky. Sheriff has great counter attack with several fast players and I am sure they can score tonight. I expect Dinamo to have control of the match and minimal lead in the first hour of the match. Then they will have to start with total offense and that is point that Sheriff can punish. At that point both teams can just stop playing and then there is no chance for over market to come trough.

Now when I wrote all that in such great detail, I am sure fate will intervene to make me look like idiot and the game will end 4:0 for one side.

Ferencvaros made a really nice effort in the rematch against Young Boys yesterday. If they didn't get a red card, things might have been much different for them, who knows. They still managed to score 2 goals against their powerful competitor. But Young Boys ended their hopes with the goal came in the last minutes. And they won the rematch with the same score also. I haven't seen them in the Champions League for a while. Let's see what they will be able to do.

Failing to win vs 10 players for almost 60 minutes in your home is so frustrating for Eindhoven fans.. Malmo passed thanks to the goal scored in this match and it is funny to see Young Boys results the same as in the home game with an inverted red card, mirror force Tongue
For Wednesday games, Salzburg and Dinamo should pass too, but I think the most interesting match will be between Shakhtar and Monaco.

Dinamo has a really difficult task today, I personally feel their chances are slim. They are a better team on paper but they lost the 1st game 3-0, and more importantly they played really bad. I'm not sure how much they can improve in such a short period of time, Sheriff defended them without much problems a week ago.

Indeed in the first match, Dinamo failed to prove on the pitch that it's a better team than Sheriff and now things are really tough for them. They need 3 goals to send the match to the extra time, so they have to start in full attacking mode from 1st minute of the game. Perhaps if they score an early goal, things will be different but I don't believe that Sheriff will sit back. I agree that there is a big chance to see goals from both of them.
As for Eindhoven, well, they were unlucky and they fall into a superb Vlachodimos and Malmo, just do their part.

Until this last game with Sheriff, Dinamo was actually very good in this competition and mostly easily beat their opponents.
It seems to me that in the match with Sheriff Dinamo players did not have the right approach and that they underestimated their opponent.
In the past, these 2 clubs often had mutual matches in European competitions and mostly Dinamo was the winner.
Unfortunately, it seems to me that Dinamo is currently in crisis because they have poorer results in the Croatian championship as well.
The real question is whether Dinamo can play a fantastic game again like against Tottenham last season and create a new miracle.

Hard to estimate the top game today of Donetzk and Monaco, Monaco must attack right from the start otherwise it will be difficult to win against Donetzk but it will be an interesting game I think.

It's hard to guess about the match between Monaco and Donetsk, but I don't think Monaco will be able to win. I agree with you that if they want to win the match, they have to attack Monaco from the beginning. But in Monica's last few matches they have followed defensive tactics. They keep the ball in their possession but attack less. If they follow such tactics, they will not win against Shakhtar.

Results from Yesterday.

Benfica got a red card and PSV couldn't take advantage of that, so you have to criticize yourself a bit but had Benfica a bit stronger estimated. Malmö and Young Boys have also safely progressed since Ferencvaros has stupidly picked up a red card.

A look to the games Today.

Hard to estimate the top game today of Donetzk and Monaco, Monaco must attack right from the start otherwise it will be difficult to win against Donetzk but it will be an interesting game I think. Zagreb will not give the game out of hand and Salzburg will win the game narrowly or play a draw I think.

Wow, I didn't expect the PSV-Benfica game to end in nil! And even though Benfica got a yellow card in the first half! This is the most unexpected result for me...

Benfica has performed very poorly. Yet they have been able to go to the next round. PSV's players have attacked a lot. Benfica only resisted the attack. They did not make any good attacks. I don't like this defensive gameplay. I feel bad because PSV could not score a single goal despite attacking so much.

If you are only looking at the statistics of the game than it is obvious that PSV was the dominating team with 73% ball possession and 8 shots on target in comparison to Benficas 1 shot on target, but if you also consider the fact that benfica had to play with only 10 players from minute 23 on because verissimo received a red card then those numbers of PSV are not that impressive anymore. As i already said it before this match, i think it's a pity that one of those two teams will not play in the champions league this year as both belong to this competition in my opinion, but one of them had to be eliminated and if PSV did not manage to score 1 goal even though they had 1 more player for 60 minutes than benfica clearly deserves to advance into the UCL.

Yeah. Sheriff beat Dinamo 3-0 in the first leg, and they are unbeaten in their last six matches. The home side, on the other hand, has struggled to score goals recently, with no more than one goal scored in each of their last five matches. This does not bode well for any chance of success.

Today we will certainly see Monaco giving their all, in the game against Shakhtar, after having lost the first leg.
And Sheriff has everything to make a historic feat, entering the group stage of the League of Champions.

Benfica played an hour with one less, after Lucas Veríssimo expulsion. It was a game of great suffering, thanks to Benfica goalkeeper - Vlachodimos (considered the best on the field), keeping the score zero. With this result, Benfica managed to enter the group stage of the Champions League, which already includes two other Portuguese teams, Sporting and FC Porto.
In that match the Benfica goalkeeper, Odisseas Vlachodimos really showed an appearance that deserves to be rewarded with the best player award, in fact he was able to make almost eight saves throughout the match.
I don't know what the Eindhoven fans are thinking right now, but what is certain is the second leg match it really became a nightmare for Eindhoven, apart from being the host, Eindhoven also couldn't take advantage when Benfica only played with 10 players and of course with this result, Eindhoven was again only able to play up to the group stage of the Europa League for three seasons streak.

PSV were rather just unfortunate tonight, they actually played better than they did in the first leg.

After they got the man advantage I was quite of the opinion that they'll win the match and maybe force extra time at least.

Kudos to Benfica for playing with one man less for that much of the game and were still able to stand their ground against all the attacking threat from PSV, even though they didn't offer anything in attack.
