I think the pairing of Neymar and Messi will be very effective.

I'm not so sure about that. Neymar and Messi have played together at Barcelona, and it wasn't a fantastic pair.

If there is one thing that Messi has no problem with, that is definitely to adapt to his players and understand quickly how to get the best out of them.

I do not think so. But that's what we're going to see now. It's the first time that Messi is at a club other than Barcelona.
For the quality of player that he is, he will adapt. But it's now that we'll see if he's capable of it or not.

Messi made his debut for PSG against Reims. But I did not like Messi's performance in this match. The other players didn't help Messi too much. Messi was on the field for 26 minutes but could not make a single shot. It will take a lot of time for Messi to adapt to this team. And if the other players on the team can't adapt to Messi, then I don't expect a good performance from the PSG team in the Champions League.
Let's not forget that Messi has spent his entire career at Barcelona, and the Barcelona team was built around Messi to benefit from his full potential. It took years of work. Now he won't expect the same. There are other mentalities and other styles. It will require much more work to have this interconnection between the entire team.
Messi is a great player, but this is still a great challenge. And now we're going to see if he's really capable of making excellent games, apart from the machine set up at Barcelona.

I think the pairing of Neymar and Messi will be very effective. Unless Neymar is injured too much. However, Messi needs time to adapt to Mbappe, if Mbappe is at PSG. All the players in PSG's squad are talented, so if there is a good understanding between the players, they can expect a win against any team. Not everyone will just cooperate with Messi. All the players in the forward have to help each other.

If there is one thing that Messi has no problem with, that is definitely to adapt to his players and understand quickly how to get the best out of them. Mbappe can be lucky to have Messi on his team because that means more goals for Mbappe as well. The three are the perfect combination comprising speed, technique, precision and creativity. You can't have more than that. As it looks now Mbappe stays and that is the right decision in my opinion.

Barcelona will undoubtedly struggle this season in the champions league, but I don't think it will be tough enough for them to exit the champions league early, like in the group stages.

PSG would make a really great team in UCL, I'd say they're more stronger now, collectively... I'd even tip them to win the CL this season  Grin

I think it is quite funny that Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk are on the same group two years in a row, what are the chances of that actually happening? This is going to make the group harder for everyone as they know each other very well from the past edition, but my favorite groups are by far group A and B, especially group A as both Manchester City and PSG are without a doubt two of the favorites to win the tournament.

I would like PSG and Man United to meet in the CL, maybe a Final of that style would be from another world!
Yeah, this would be a beautiful game to watch from start to finish and the whole world (or everyone who likes football) would be watching. Is it possible to happen? What would be your bet and crowd?

However, we already have good competitions to entertain us at the moment, as Real Madrid faces Inter Milan again, Bayern Munich faces Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid faces Liverpool, and Chelsea measures forces with Juventus.

Need more excitement than that?

Group A is really awesome. I can't wait to see Manchester City vs PSG and PSG vs Manchester City games.  Cheesy  These are the biggest favourites for the Champions League title this season. PSG have Lionel Messi from now on. And Manchester City are really close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo. It will be great to see these two legends playing against each other again.

It won't happen because Ronaldo choose Manchester United, not Manchester City. I also expect group games to be exactly like "group games" because there are different tactics and strategy. Playing in semi final vs. playing in group games are very different. I think both teams will advance to next round but who will be the first and which teams will draw each other, it's all mind games and we will see how it goes after first five games. Sometimes you finish first in your group and you draw with stronger team in other group, these things can happen every year. This is still the best group and I'm very excited to watch City vs. PSG again at least two more times.

Yeah, I've heard about Ronaldo's choice. But the deal finished really fast for Manchester United. They just made an offer to Juventus and it was accepted right away. These things all happened in only 24 hours. I would really like to see a final game between Manchester Utd and PSG now. I'm OK for even seeing them clash before the final. I would really like to see Messi and Ronaldo playing against each other by both of them being at different clubs this time.

Well I think many are looking for the greatest attention in group A and F, because both Messi and Ronaldo are still in the news, in fact, Real Madrid and Barcelona have already dropped interest a bit, for now everything is still concentrating a lot more in PSG, because after the offer from Real Madrid, apparently the president of PSG does not want to release him, will they be thinking of leaving him at PSG? I think it wouldn't be a bad thing to have the fiercest attack trident out there so far.

I wonder where is the hell group that usually happens every season, and can group B be called the hell group this season? I don't know, because I think now every group gets a competing team that has the same level in each group. I mean, this season it looks like every group has at least three favorites and one team as dark horses and I see that in every group at the moment.

it is relatively evenly distributed and in the stronger groups it looks like rank 1 and 2 are already gone, but I am excite so see how Red Bull Leipzig will do in the group with City and PSG. If somehow Leipzig can manage to play the first two games well with decent results, I think that group could turn into the hell group you are talking about. If they only get 1 point out of the first two games it is already over I guess.

I don't know yet what to think of Leipzig this season, still too early. They lost some very good players and it is not like they have world class players sitting all over the bench. But they are definitely a team that is very hard to beat at least in home games. When they perform well it won't be easy even for teams like City and PSG.
If you say group A is hell group then you can say all groups are hell group too, because it's a very even shuffle. In my view only group B is different and maybe that can still qualify as group hell. In group B all the teams are favourites although indeed, City and PSG are clearly big-name teams but the four teams in group B are clearly at the same level at the moment as are the usual favourites. Well, that's not something important either and I'm just curious because usually they discuss about the final too soon or about the hell group, with this shuffling I think all the groups seem to be very evenly distributed in this group stage.

I see UCL group B is a semi-final that happens too soon, haha. 4 strong teams are in one group, but what makes me a little doubtful is AC Milan. Milan has just returned to the UCL after a long time, unfortunately they met strong European clubs. Successfully qualifying for the next round for me is enough for AC Milan. Of course as a fan I want them to reach the final, but with the current squad, Milan can only compete in Serie A, not in the UCL.

I am not so optimistic about Leipzig's capabilities in this Champions League. In Group A there is only one intrigue, who will come out from the first place PSG, or Manchester City. I think it's not worth talking about the rest, since the probability of this will be very low. Leipzig and Bruges were simply unlucky, for sure Leipzig will reach the Europa League, and Bruges will finish their performance in European competitions after the group stage.

It's funny that both moneybags (Manchester City and PSG) fell into the same group. I understand that this is unrealistic, but I will hope that Leipzig and Bruges will leave Group A in the next round. In general, I must note that all groups are rather boring except for group B, almost everywhere it is clear who will take the first two places.

In terms of player quality maybe what you say is right, but remember sometimes there are unexpected things in a group. Indeed, the top clubs have been divided into each group. I think there will be a surprise team, and a big team that will struggle to qualify for the group stage may not even qualify. Mysterious match with the result. I think this will be very interesting for us later. Still about more two weeks again. I think Bayern vs Barcelona is the match we've been waiting for.

A group - City - PSG will be hot, but Leipzig is also capable to fight.
B group - Probably most ballanced group. Liverpool and Atletico are favorites probably, but Miland and Porto is also powerful.
C group - 3 similar level teams and obvious underdog Besiktas
D group - almost same group like last year, just Gladbach replaced by Sheriff. I hope it will be same interesting like last season
E group - as Barca fan I fear of Bayern, but I think we are capable to beat Benfica and Dynamo at least.
F group - repeat of last Europa league final, plus Atalanta. But I think it's not bad group for MU.
G group - is it Europa league or what? This group looks most difficult to predict.
H group - easy life for Chelsea and Juventus.
Groups A, D, E look quite good, definitely good groups, specially group A, that seems like the best group to watch. Groups C and G do not look that tempting, they could have been a europa cup group all we know and it wouldn't really be that weird, group F is literally europa cup finalists 50% so that is kind of like that as well but they grew so much larger in the span of 2 seasons so that is normal to see them there, plus a rematch for Man United team as well to beat them, maybe even twice, still wouldn't be as good as getting that cup but at least a revenge chance is a good thing.

Long story short it is a good group draw, I think it is going to be fun, too many games all at once coming in very soon for the football world, we are getting close to that period where teams have league games, cup games, and European games all back to back constantly giving us so many games to bet on.

Group A looks so juicy and those matches between Manchester city and PSG will be like 2 finals already at start of the champions league. Plus if Cristiano Ronaldo joins City it will be again a great battle between Messi and Ronaldo

Lol right!  And if the deal doesn’t follow through guess which club that’s capable of acquiring him.  PSG  Shocked.  That’s if they finally decide to sell Mbappe to Real Madrid that is.  If not, Ronaldo could go back to Real Madrid before the transfer window closes.  IMHO.

Hoping to see him back in the EPL tho.
