Today I looked at the match scores of Italy under the management of Mancini. Italy is unbeaten in 27 games where Roberto Mancini has appeared as manager. Also, they haven't seen a goal in the last 8 games. They are more likely to finish first in their own group. A strong team to become Champions if they don't lose in the quarterfinals or semi-finals.

I also think that Italy should pass this group and before I was convinced that Italy would have no difficulty playing against all teams in that group and would not lose any game, but now I see that Turkey can be a very strong opponent and Turkey should not be underestimated. this game of italy against turkey will be a game where both teams will enter the game under a lot of pressure

Yes you are right. I also agree that Turkey is strong. But I don't think there will be a team that can beat Italy in their group. Switzerland and Wales also have good players. Football is a sport where every score can be. However, I still believe that they can easily reach the quarter-finals. If they don't get out of the groups, the tournament starts with a big surprise.

My mouth too tired to talk about injuries during friendlies costing teams and nationals their best talents. Lewie, Trent, injured for meaningless games possibly harming their careers at club football and actual representation? Anyway... updated the OP with a group image, but the full schedule hasn't changed and is available for download in OP but here it is for anyone who wants a full overview:

Can't wait, and Copa too! Football!!
That is part of the game: we are at the end of the season and these players are worn out by countless games since August 2020. I think it is absolutely normal that players are now more prone to get injured. These guys are tired, it is the end of the season, what else do you expect?

France is in the hellish group for Euro this year as they have to compete with Germany, Portugal and Hungary.
First is a big challenge already for France since they have to face Germany.
They have to win it if they want to have smooth way to the knock out stage.
Otherwise, it will be a bit harder for them to go further if they lose in the first match.

I think it is actually better for teams to fight on in the group stage first and knock out tough teams early. And then gain first seed in the KO round. We see it even in champions league,,, if you have it too easy at first, you tend to get knocked out early. See Bayern, see City, even Spurs from before and Chelsea in last season. So I think France should enjoy meeting the big teams now.

People who vaccinated and have licenses can join the match. If the government allows open stadium, with big crowd, they will ask those vaccination license. But it is still risky, you can still be infected even you are already got 2 doses of vaccine.
As far as I know, Vaccine do not make recipient immune to viral infection and they are still at risk of contracting it even after getting 2 doses. This may have to get the attention and consideration of the government before giving permission to the supporter to fill the stadium. If the government give permission, health protocols and social distancing must also be applied to minimize the number of transmission.

I still think that people shouldn't be allowed to go watch the games in the stadiums, it's still very risky because there are still hundreds of people who haven't been vaccinated and the virus hasn't been contained yet

i'm really looking forward to this Corona spook finally coming to an end and all fans being allowed to go to the stadiums again.
That would be nice, but I doubt it will end while many countries are trying to keep the infection rate down even less including mine.

That's the worst when you lose players of that calibre in a somewhat meaningless game. Reminds me of Lewandowski who got injured in a game against Andorra,
Was happened to the German team the last years often that good players was injured few weeks or days before the Cup started.
Thats the problem for the Friendly matches before the cup is starting , every player wants to show the Coach that he is worth to be a part of the Team.

it would be fantastic if there were full stadiums again. i totally miss that big unique atmosphere.
As far as i am not wrong its already a surprise that Munich allows 14000 People to watch it life.
But if there will be something , they will be for sure dont will allow it the whole cup then.

That's also a reason why the number of games shouldn't be increased due to the introduction of new competitions like the Super League or even the Nations League. The players will have more injuries naturally and that's no fun for anyone. Not for the players neither for the audience. I was always fine with what we had a few years ago, but it is getting too much. Seriously, Lewandowski missing the games against Paris because of an injury against Andorra, come on... Sad

Goretzka will be missing for Germany against France now. That's tough as he developed into a world class player. Hope they can compensate it well.

The pandemic and lock downs bring more pressure to players. They have to play more matches in shorter period because of lockdowns, postpones matches and changed fixtures. I doubt that they can have good fitness for this Euro 2021.

it would be fantastic if there were full stadiums again. i totally miss that big unique atmosphere.
It would be a big gift for fans but I don't think it will be allowed. The pandemic is here and despite of the vaccination campaign and public health approaches (social distancing, infection tracing, etc), the government will not support this idea.

bad news for the english national team ... Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered such a serious injury in the international match against austria that he will now miss the tournament. Undecided
it is not yet clear who will replace him in the squad...

Reminds me of Lewandowski who got injured in a game against Andorra, missed four weeks and both champions league gams against Paris and Bayern got busted. I know you can't just ignore games with your national team, but as a soccer fan it hurts because you would rather see Bayern vs. PSG with Lewandowski than Poland with Lewandowski agaist Andorra.
Arnold is a serious less, such an awesome player. Ultimately, it is hard for the players themselves.

Is there a specific reason why all the games will played in the same stadium? Is the Allianz Arena the only german's venue that can make a covid-compliant game possible? I can't believe that Germany doesn't have similar great stadiums around.
Is this happening in other countries too? that's something I didn't follow.

yes, munich is the only venue in germany - whether the other european stadiums will allow some spectators depends of course on the government and how the pandemic numbers in the respective country develop

it would be fantastic if there were full stadiums again. i totally miss that big unique atmosphere.
the fans from all over europe would then celebrate together and be happy about the victories of their own team.
but unfortunately it will only be possible with a few fans this year. that's not what we imagined 2 years ago.

Well, on it being the only stadium that could comply more to Covid-19 policies, I seriously doubt that. There might be some politics to the trend with the Stadium Allianz Arena being a more suitable venue but then  it still suits better than the rest as the stadium is a wonderful piece of Architectural design and makes use of some of the world's advanced technologies in its operation. More over, its got more space and might seem the most convenient.
I don't like the idea though, following the fact that, other cities could uses some tourist generated funds too as well as the stadiums around and perhaps, its not a very convenient thing to do as a German resident, having to travel to Munich to view these games with a competent stadium in your locality.

its now a done deal and has also been officially announced by the government that all 4 games can be played in munich's allianz arena in front of a maximum of 14000 spectators each
these are then the following games:
germany - france
germany - portugal
germany - hungary
and a quarterfinal match

So many teams that can win the tournament. It is very close together. I would like to see Belgium as the winner or England. Germany and Spain have won enough, especially in the last 10 years. I also see Portugal or Croatia going far. After all, Croatia was the losing finalist of the World Cup a few years ago. And have Modric, and a few more very strong players.

Group F indeed is the toughest group, However, I don't think France will have much problem with qualifying for the next round.
I'll probably even tip them to finish as the group leaders.

Kevin De Bruyne is looking a little better. after injuring his face in the cl final against fc chelsea, he will miss the belgians' opening game, but will still be part of the red devils' em squad Smiley

Too bad for Arnold, I was hoping he'd have great tournament with England after a season to forget in the EPL.

England already has too many right backs so this isnt a problem for England. They have too many players for that position it would be a question if he would actully play at the euros due too how many players there are on that position. Probobly the most quality postion in the entire team

Too bad for Trent. I was hoping to watch him play in Euro 2020. Immediately I saw the news about his injury, I knew it was end game for him. Well, Southgate would have to make a decision on a replacement for Trent at right back - Reece James, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker and even Ben Godfrey since he (Ben) played in RB position for Everton for majority of the 2020/2021 season.

Kevin De Bruyne should be back in time for Euro 2020 too. It was sad to see him get taken off during the UCL final after colliding with Rudiger.
