National team coaches are likely allowed to nominated 26 rather than 23 players for the 2020 European Championships, which because of COVID-19, will take place in the summer of 2021. The Deutsche Presse Agentur reported on Tuesday that the UEFA Executive Committee had recommended a rule change for the tournament to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

for me personally a good and sensible idea/decision - the whole thing is to be decided this week

It makes perfect sense! And it should even be allowed, in case of injury during the tournament, that other players can be called in to change (after assessment by UEFA doctors).

The players have to be having a very demanding season. They had almost no holidays in 2020 and are having a very high gaming load. Many will have very little recovery time between the end of the season in the clubs and the Euro 2021. That is why the risk of injury is great.

@cygan one of the better decisions taken by the UEFA because the threat of a player catching covid will always remain, and it’s best to have more players in bio bubble for safety purposes. @joker_josue you’re absolutely correct about the injuries part, but I hope that the player’s will somehow remain injury free and return safely to their clubs.

UEFA announced about changes of venues for some EURO 2020 games:
https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/mediaservices/mediareleases/news/0268-121bc78c82d5-1ba16401b4f0-1000--change-of-venues-for-some-uefa-euro-2020-matches-announced/
Games which had to be played in Dublin were moved to Saint Petersburg and London, while Sevilla replaced Bilbao. Dublin and Bilbao weren't able to guarantee that fans will be allowed to watch games in stadium.
I think it's good decision. It's just doesn't makes sense to held games in empty stadiums when there is cities which who let fans to attend stadiums.

Playing the Euro 2021 championship with the fans in the stadium makes the tournament more enjoyable. Turkey will appreciate it most. Because they plays 2 matches will be played in Baku. Baku, both close to Turkey, as well as the people of Azerbaijan supports Turkey. Of course, Turkey, will play their first match against Italy in Rome for they will also be at a serious disadvantage. This tournament will be very exciting.

Even in a normal situation, I think it turns out to be unfair for some countries, some having the opportunity to play in their country and others not.
At least in the group stage, no country should play in its own country.

Baku will provide 50% of the stadium's capacity, which is 35,000 seats. Plus, there will be no quarantine for visitors. It will be possible to buy a ticket from May. Welcome to Baku! Smiley

Great news for all football fans!
''Uefa has confirmed that eight of the 12 host cities for this summer's Euro 2020 will have spectators attending games.''
Spectators will be able to attend matches in the following cities: London, Glasgow, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, St Petersburg, Bilbao, Munich, Budapest, Baku, Rome and Bucharest.
Confirmation is still pending for these 4 cities: Munich, Rome, Bilbao and Dublin.
I hope that the fans will be able to go to the stadiums in those cities as well, because the matches with and without spectators are really not the same.
It's really sad to watch all those great and exciting matches in the Champions League without spectators, in complete silence.

We just hope that the COVID-19 will not spoil these plans! This has taken so many turns.  Undecided
We'll see.

Yep, Rome is not confirmed yet, it will be probably confirmed or not depending on how the vaccine is going in.
So far in Italy, we have not enough doses so I think it will be a 50-50.

The target is to have 60% of the population vaccinated (2 doses) for the summer and we are far away from that target.

In the other games, I think Germany will win easily. As well as Spain, France and Italy.

I have to swallow my words! Germany lost, and was almost humiliated.  Embarrassed  Lips sealed

Playing this type of game, you won't even make it past the group stage, the EURO 2020/1.

They will make it on the experience of players and powerfull country they will go to the next stage but will fight hard and need to get their game straight

Germany lost their but Timo Werner stole the headlines in my own country with his inexcusable miss just before Macedonia scored their 2nd goal.

If Timo Werner had converted the chance then the game's outcome could so easily have been different, but these things happen.

Meanwhile France were eventually able to come up with a winner with a goal from Greizmann.

Germany is still rebuilding since the last World Cup, it's not an easy task to achieve, Italy took 8 years of rebuild and even now is not full of talents but they have a good team spirit.
Some nations are just blessed.

France for example will dominate for the next decade even in their under 19-21 team they have some players who can be in the top 10 of their role in the next few years like

Camavinga
Konaté
Koundé

Not a bad generation of them.

After 1st half,

Germany is losing  Roll Eyes
France only 0-0
Spain and Italy are winning.

Some surprising results so far.

Italy is a good team with mediocre players, remind me of Leicester.

It is a great sadness to see teams like Germany with odds 1.10 being beaten by teams like North Macedonia with 21 odds.I would never bet on a team with 21 odds as this win with such odds happens rarely.I am sorry for all the bettors who were let down by Germany yesterday.

Final results for Wednesday matches in 2022 World Cup Qualifying Round one.

Spain 3-1 Kosovo
Lithuania 0-2 Italy
Bosnia and Herzegovina 0-1 France
England 2-1 Poland
Germany 1-2 North Macedonia

It is not a good match day for big teams: France and Germany lost. Germany even lost in their home stadium and one of scorers from Macedonia is Goran Pandev who still plays well in his very ending seasons. It is the first defeat of Germany in qualifying round after 20 years.

England win against Poland and Lewandowski will be another great striker who can not have sweet memory with his national team.

Also what do you’ll think will England win tonight, because I’m expecting them to easily win their game against Poland.

England at this moment is even one of the most highly rated teams to win the EURO, so they have an obligation to win today.

In the other games, I think Germany will win easily. As well as Spain, France and Italy.

Turkey has made two very successful football match in WCQ.They beat the Netherlands 4-2, beat Norway 3-0.Turkey can surprise Euro 2021.They also defeated France in the qualifiers. This summer will be very exciting.
The Turkish national team starts the qualifying round well, but after that it starts to lose points. This happens every time. I hope this time they will not lose points in games with weak teams.
As expected, Turkey lost points in the game with Latvia. Latvia turned into a very inconvenient opponent for the Turkish national team, although according to the game Turkey should have confidently won this match.

@Kassex I wasn’t expecting Turkey to drop points after their strong start in the tournament, and I’m disappointed that they didn’t build on their strong performance and dropped valuable points. Also what do you’ll think will England win tonight, because I’m expecting them to easily win their game against Poland.
