I'm waiting excitedly for the France - Germany game on June 15 also. And interestingly, the game is going to be played in Allianz Arena, Munich. 14500 spectators maximum are going to be tolerated in the stadium. Germany are going to play this game in their home stadium which is a big advantage. France are really one of the toughest competitors. Germany have really talented players when it comes to scoring goals. I feel like they will take advantage of the situation here.

My predictions:

- Both Teams to Score
- Germany win

There is so much expected of from so many teams that I am not even sure about which team will win. The top 10 of the odds in the sportsbooks for outright win all have a good case to be made for their teams, they are all great, I believe any of them could win it at this point. I need the cup to start to see how they are playing to know what is going to happen, otherwise I am not going to be able to know which team is actually better or not.

I get that we are in a situation where France or England or Belgium (which I never seen as a big winner but people give them good odds) or Italy whatever, all these teams have a chance to win it and that is a big deal. Let's see though, I am sure when the cup starts some of those teams will be as good as everyone expects and some of those teams will not be as good as expected and that will show us the true path.

The ones you mentioned always play a good role, but I think that Portugal has some pretty good guys right now. Don't underestimate Greece when Otto Rehhagel was coach! Wink

the german national team will be represented at the european championships by 8 players from fc.bayern münchen.
two players come from Dortmund,3 from mönchengladbach,2 from leipzig, one from frankfurt and one from freiburg.
these are the 17 players from the bundesliga. the rest of the team plays in other international leagues.
an english team provides the most players for the european championships: 16 european championship players come from Mancester City. that's really crazy.

all players from the Bundesliga who are at the European Championship can be read here

This Euro will be one of the last big tournaments for Immobile, Insigne, and Belotti. I hope that they will show all the best and with all energy they have.
Forza Azzuri!Forza Azzurri!
I had to correct you there since Azzurri comes with double r  Cheesy
I do not understand why you think Immobile (1990), Insigne (1991) and Belotti are playing this as their last Euro Cup. These guys ares still kind of young for the new standards and Belotti (1993) especially can play at least one more time. Expect them to play again, do not worry.

Anyway, Mancini's selection is a great one, I believe these players can make it to the final (maybe against France).
No. I did not say they will play their last Euro. What I said is they will play one of their last big tournaments. They will be able to play one or two more big tournaments, Euro or World Cup but it will be a challenge for them to play with their best next 2 or 4 years.

Same things you can see with Messi or Ronaldo. They missed their golden time to win World Cup but I don't conclude they will never win it. They will have opportunities but need more supports from their team mates as well as luckiness.
But at least I agree about their age that it seems difficult to be back in the next Euro and maybe this will be the last Euro for them, but for the World Cup maybe they can still compete with young players. But if they continue to perform well and there are still no replacements commensurate or at least better than them, then obviously they will still have a place even though they are no longer young in the next 4 years.

UEFA Euro 2021 is going to be underway on June 11. And there is only one game on the inauguration day which is between Turkey and Italy. The tournament is starting with a very delightful game I think. In my opinion, these two teams are the favorites of their group to advance. And the game is in Italy which is really lucky for them. But still I don't think this will be an easy game for them. Turkey have a really strong squad right now. I've no doubt that they will put up a great fight against Italy.

My choice to bet on is: Both Teams to Score

Italy will not give up the advantage as they play in Rome. They will be victorious against Turkey. I do not think that Turkey will score a goal against the strong defense of Italy. Although Cengiz Ünder is an important winger, he played very poorly in Azerbaijan and Guinea matches. Burak Yılmaz, who had a good season in Lille, will most likely be in the forward line. But let's see if a 36-year-old striker can score against Italy?

That 36-year-old striker scored 16 goals in the Ligue 1 in the last season and made a huge contribution to the team.  Grin  I see no reason not to see a good performance from him in this tournament.

englands coach Gareth Southgate has now announced its final squad for the tournament today

So, Alexander-Arnold making the list after all. England taking 4 rightbacks (TAA, James, Walker, Trippier) - a bit bizarre.
Walker is an option for CB position if they go with 3 at the back - I assume James is as well. But then it makes no sense to take both Coady and Mings.

England is really weak in the middle - if Henderson won't recover in time they will be in serious trouble.

Truth be told, I am not afraid of facing this England squad. Granted first eleven looks good but I can't belive there was not better options for the bench. Did not expect to see names like Mings and Coady in the team.

Who is the first keeper? Pickford I guess according to jersey numbers. Henderson is by far the best for me but unfortunately he is not first choice in United and therefore probably not the first choice here.

Should be Pickford. But Henderson was first choice for United at the end of the season, De Gea was playing in Europe and in cups.

I'm even afraid of Scotland and Czech Republic, let alone England. We will be horrible in this Euro.

I have my favorite team, France to be champion in euro 21.
and they just announced the squad;,

Goal keeper; Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Steve Mandanda (Marseille), Mike Meignan (Lille)

Defender; Lucas Digne (Everton), Léo Dubois (Lyon), Lucas Hernandez (Bayern), Presnel Kimpembe (Paris), Jules Koundé (Séville), Clément Lenglet (Barcelone), Benjamin Pavard (Bayern), Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid), Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)

midfielder: N'Golo Kanté (Chelsea), Thomas Lemar (Atlético), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus), Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham), Corentin Tolisso (Bayern)

Forward: Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Kingsley Coman (Bayern), Ousmane Dembélé (Barcelona), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Antoine Griezmann (Barcelone), Kylian Mbappé (Paris), Marcus Thuram (Mönchengladbach)

https://www.fff.fr/article/2859-la-liste-des-vingt-six-pour-l-uefa-euro-2020.html

Interesting, Benzema comes in the squad, he has been a long time never seeing him. We can see three attackers, Mbappe, Benzema, and Griezmann, Kanté, pogba and Rabiot as a supplier.

Nicolo Zaniolo is unlucky again. He got a serious injury 2 season ago then the pandemic gives him a second chance to join Euro 2021 rather than Euro 2020. Unfortunately, he got another injury in the last season and missed this Euro. It is a sad story for him and for Italy because he is very talented and grew very well in Roma after the transfer from Inter Milan.

This Euro will be one of the last big tournaments for Immobile, Insigne, and Belotti. I hope that they will show all the best and with all energy they have.

Forza Azzuri!

there were a lot of draws, I doubt anyone has managed to get all the games right
That's why I dislike friendlies and avoid them, because simply their results are weird and unexpected most of the time + the result doesn't mean anything in real competition since weaker teams have the wrong impression that they are playing good before releasing the sad reality.
Otherwise, I think everyone managed to predict Kosovo - San Marino result but odds were closed hours, at least, before the game Roll Eyes

Today we have an interesting friend, between two teams that will be at Euro 2020:
Poland vs Russia

https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/friendlies/match/2032186--poland-vs-russia/

What do you think the result will be?

the game ended in a draw, these friendly games are not at all easy to predict the results, see the results of the other games:

Lithuania 0 - 1 Estonia (I thought they could at least draw. I did well not to have placed any bets)

Slovakia 1 - 1 bulgaria

Croatia 1 - 1 Armenia

North Macedonia 1 - 1 Slovenia

Poland 1 - 1 russia

there were a lot of draws, I doubt anyone has managed to get all the games right

I'm not surprised I've seen great English team in the past , the 2013/ 2014 squad were twice the players we have now but lack of team work have ruined several English football era, secondly the English media is corrupting the mind of this young lads.

I agree. Still, I think this England team is the best in recent times. At least I have the idea that it is more balanced and tactically well-defined. I think they will have a good campaign at Euro 2020.

The teams are about equal in terms of stats, but Poland has a superstar - Robert Lewandowski... By the way, the statistics of personal meetings between these teams is absolutely the same... But I think Poland will win today!

While writing a post Poland managed to score in the first minutes of the match! Grin
Today it's all draws... Except for one match...

I also think that Poland is better. Russia is not in the best squad level.

It's funny that the games ended up almost all tied. The players are tired of this last season, it was very demanding.

Friendlies have weird results and very risky, I just avoid it since generally it is an opportunity to give more time to new and less experienced players, testing new strategies and so on. I remember seeing high odds for Armenia and Bulgaria, yet they managed to get a draw vs Croatia and Slovakia respectively!
Poland 1 - 1 Russia half time, Lewandowski didn't play yet, few opportunities..

Picker is twice the player, Henderson is good but not yet on Pickford level, he has proven himself for the past 3 years for club and country.
