There is still no confirmation regarding who will be hosting the Euro 2021 tournament. There was a statement from Tancredi Palmeri (sports correspondent for BeIN) that England could be the sole hosts, given the spread of COVID 19 in Europe. Then there was a statement from UEFA earlier this month, where they reiterated that their intention is to hold the tournament in 12 countries as planned originally. The COVID 19 cases are rising across Europe (with the exception of England) and as of now, it looks impossible to stage the tournament across multiple countries).

I'm not even sure what our gameplan is meant to be. We look like a bunch of drunk people staggering home.
Our game plan was to field as many as possible qoulity players and let them individually try to get us win and it showed. I don't remember when was the last time all our players played important if not key roles in top clubs. We should be destroying opposition and not playing like shit.

I always like when we get a slap in first game, that way we get grounded and usually respond with better plays down the road. Hopefully it will be the same this time as well.

Did you watch from beginning of the game? We started really well and had 2 solid chances inside first 10 minutes. Then we conceded the goal and did not make a single good opportunity afterwards. This could have been a whole different game if we scored one of those 2 early chances.

Don't get me wrong, I am not defending them, we played awful and top teams should be able to turn the game after falling one goal behind. Belgium also conceded in the early minutes and went on to win 3:1.

Not to mention they were the only game I missed on ticket for big win. Thankfully there is Sportsbet insurance to the rescue so I at least have another chance today.

I did. I'm still equally disappointed - imagine what will happen when we lose Modrić as well. Our form is shocking, we look even worse than our shitty results say and I wouldn't put a single penny on us progressing from the group that's one of the easiest possible.

I'm glad I took Romania to win even if it was a thriller game because Macedonia managed to score twice in 2 minutes but even so Romania had so many chances to score and 2 minutes after Romania scored again. Another nice game was Italy/England/Spain to take at 1st half but I'm massive surprised of Spain game in 2nd half and how did Hungary lost the game after they lead twice in the game ?... I think they are upset because they had that win in their bag.

I feel the likes of England, Belgium and France are just star's infested squad but the chemistry is far from being available.
True. Yesterday match between Ukraine and France was an accurate example of this. Having many big names doesn't guarantee winning the game..
For today, Spain was the disappointment Undecided

No big surprises Today.
Germany is still building the team after the disaster and managed to get only 1 point Today.

The surprise is the draw from Spain, they drew 1-1 with Greece, I was not expecting this at all.

Holy hell, we lost to Slovenia. Not only that we lost but we basically failed to create a single meaningful chance throughout the whole 90 minutes.

This is a really bad start in a really easy group, this can seriously harm our qualification process. Croatia since 2nd place in WC: 1 win, 2 draws and 7 losses. Goal difference 12-23.

My man I cannot tell you how many times Croatia RIPped my bets since World Cup. And also Iceland. On the other hand, Netherlands gave me a lot of good wins but now are the favourites again. For some reason everything changed after World Cup.

I'm praying for at least 1 upset tonight, from the bunch I picked (and if Germany and/or Spain stumble, I'll be a very, very happy man).

At the moment it is much too early to draw conclusions from the level of certain teams. The European Championship also starts in a few months, then everything can be different in one go. I remember for example Spain, lost the first game in the group stage against Switzerland in 2010, and then became world champions. Doesn't say much. But of course it is better to win your first match than to lose.

So your bets to win the tournament, go to Germany?
I wouldn't put my money on Germany right now, the German we have are not consistent.
Same here, they are especially bad in the defense and I am not backing them before they prove they have addressed that vulnerability. For now I am happy of taking both to score on most of their games. It paid up very good in their latest games. Conceded 14 goals in last 6 games, granted it was 6 goals from Spain, but also Turkey & Switzerland managed to score 3 against them on German home turf.

If I were to bet outrightly right now, I'd probably go with Germany too, they look the most compact team imo even though they're still far from what the used to be, I feel the likes of England, Belgium and France are just star's infested squad but the chemistry is far from being available.

Who do you think is the main favourite?
This is going to be one of those tournaments that all the giant countries would fall to the underdogs, initially, I went in for Belgium but not anymore, they've been very poor lately due to the absence of Hazard and some key players due to injury, it's been unfortunate time for the red devils of Belgium. Right now I can boldly stake my money on France to make it through to the final.

Nagelsmann or Hansi Flick will do a better job, they have been in the local league for a long time, they understand how the grassroots works. The German national team always go for a local coach, they don't put so much trust in the coaches abroad, I doubt if Klopp was shortlisted for the job, even if he was he wouldn't take it anyway.

At this point it will be too early to say who will be selected for the job, but it looks as if Julian Nagelsmann has the most probability. He is the manager of RB Leipzig currently. However, two weeks back Nagelsmann stated that he is not actively considering an offer to become successor to Joachim Löw. Also, it is understood that he has offers from some of the big teams, such as Bayern München and Barcelona.

i am looking forward to some games especially turkey netherlands could be a game full of goals

It was full of goals, although it was started very slow in the end total six goals were scored and a penalty missed.
But this is not a Euro 2021 match, it was World Cup 2022 qualification groups game. Please come to this thread for World Cup talk: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/2022-fifa-world-cup-in-qatar-uefa-qualifiers-5297982

I don't think Nagelsmann would take it as well. He's a highly promising coach that is probably expecting a job in a top club soon. Flick would take it only if he's replaced at Bayern - which currently isn't the case.

Finding good managers willing to go for a national team job is a tough task, they all prefer working in clubs.
I think Nagelsmann would be doing something very risky if he takes that job. He is great at Leipzig right now and people are talking about as high as Barcelona for him, and maybe even better teams, which means that dude is looking for a big pay upgrade.

However Germany is a great national team as well, they may end up with the cup if they play well, and that means if Nagelsmann manages to win it with the national team, that would make his contract a lot higher wherever he goes next, and if he stays one more year with his club, manages the national team, win euro 2021, then do another season, and manage national team and win 2022 world cup, that would mean that he would be at the top list, like literally "who is the best coach in the world right now?" question will have people replying with his name. Will he take that risk? I do not think so but he has that potential if he wants to.

Wait guys I thought the games this week was all for World Cup and not for EURO? Because I can see many other teams from Africa and America playing on the same time. Or is this all related?

Any potential upsets we should look at tonight? I bet on a few favorites already:)

@leea-1334 lookout for the England match as their regular goal keeper is not there, and this could be a difficult game for them. Also I’m not betting on tonight’s game, but I’m thinking of wagering against England for their game on Friday, what do you think of decision to wager against them?.

There are many teams who can win the title next year, I do not see a clear favorite this time, there are like 8 teams with good chances, and none of them is really the top favorite, I would also keep an eye on the Netherlands, as they have this time a very strong defense and midfield.
