I really agree with you, England does have quite good squad depth in almost every line, but personally I don't think they are in the top three favorite teams. Southgate doesn't seem to be the right person to coach these star players, because the average English player has a big ego and finds it difficult to appear solid. England once had a golden generation which in my opinion was better than the current generation, but they failed to achieve success.

I think Germany and France deserve to be more favorites this time, followed by Portugal, England, Spain, Italy and Belgium. I believe that coaches always like to experiment during friendly games. England's problem is that there are too many talented player's in England's team for any coach not to get confused. Southgate is overwhelmed, making decisions is hard.

I support this notion of yours as I also believe that this English team is just merely full of hype and I don't feel they can even achieve such height again although am still not writing any team off just dropping my personal opinion. England is so filled with talent no doubt but there is something with managing the national team and selection of players that can blend up with a short period of time than taking of boys you are fund of for 38 weeks to be successful with them.

England have big names on their squad that's why many will see them as one of the favorite to win the tournament and I don't see that happening with the manager Southgate, he has been inviting same set of players and nothing to show for it. Players that ain't suppose to make the list he'd invite them, someone like Jack Grealish, he hasn't proven himself since the big money move to City only drinking, partying and while in the pitch he only throws himself to be tackled but he's been added to the squad, Harry Maguire isn't fit but he's included.
My worry is the players who are fit but won't get to showcase their abilities to help the 3 lions go forward. And if care isn't taken they might be kicked out too soon because we have stronger countries that are also favorite to win and I don't think England can withstand them when the time comes.

I don't believe England deserve to be called as the biggest favourite by the bookmakers. Just because they reached the finale in Euro 2020 we can't say they are the closest team to the title again. Before anything else this isn't a thing they do regularly. Besides they have an unsuccessful history. They won a World Cup like 60 years ago and that's all.

Even they have had great players nowadays they just can't make it. This doesn't mean they won't ever be champions of course. But with Southgate? No I don't think so.    There has been a big need of a manager change for quite a while.

I agree that the friendly games should be not taken that much seriously.
Watched also the review of the game between England against Iceland and there was for sure some chances to get a draw or even a win for England.
We also should not forget that the other teams form other countries getting better , have seen that from Greece vs Germany.
When the EM will be start there will be come some extra motivation to all teams.

Well that's football for you it's not only that england are being pumpose of themselves because they have player or something else, I believe it's just normal for a player or fans to support their team even if the team isn't up to standard or class because in football anything can happen and before a team or the fans show pride alot then it means that they actually have a edge in seeing that they can win the game .

Many people think Southgate shouldn’t be England coach but I think they are right about that, yesterday's match of England against Iceland was very boring to imagine how England's players are playing like they are not the players that play in their team, imagine, Cole Palmer, Foden, Declan rice and all these young players in the squad can not play very well but when it comes to their team they will play very well, even Foden that is the premier league player of the season can’t play very well for his country, I think the fault is from the coach because, from the players he removed from the squad, I think he needs some of them, these young players can not take England to any level.

From the first time I saw the list of the players that are being removed I knew that something must happened to England squad, those players who I saw yesterday that played for England against Iceland can not win Euro for England, in fact they can’t even reach semi-final with the performance I saw yesterday, I think England needs a wing player that can help them, using Foden and Cole Palmer as a wing will not help the team at all, the team needs another wing player like Grealish to add to saka so that the team can play very well in Euro.

Yes, Romania was unable to score a goal in two friendly matches. However, in my opinion, this is normal because of course the two countries that Romania played against were not weak teams. Although if you look at the head to head record of the two countries, Romania is superior. The reason is that in Romania's last two meetings with Leichtenstein, the result was that Romania was able to win both matches. Then in Romania's last meeting with Bulgaria, the result ended in a draw. Well, maybe this time Romania experienced a decline in performance to the point that they were unable to score a single goal in these 2 matches.

Then for England's match against Iceland, to be honest the result of this match was what surprised me the most. Because I personally don't think that England, which has many star players, will lose to Iceland. However, behind this defeat, maybe the England national team coach just wanted to see and try out the strategy in this match. It looks like Maguire is suffering a muscle injury so that must be why Southgate removed him from the list. Otherwise I think he would have added him. England have a very strong midfield and offense, probably the best in this tournament, but there are more questions with the defense. Secondly, I hate the fact that he is being linked with a move to replace Erik Ten Hag as the next manager of Manchester United. I breaks my heart because all I see is relegation calls. Manchester United will definitely suffer if they fail to back Erik Ten Hag. Going back to Gareth Southgate is like going back to David Moyes again. Lol. Shows how wacked and sentimental Jim Radcliffe and side can be.

FACTS: NO ENGLISH MANAGER HAS WON THE PREMIER LEAGUE COMPETITION TILL DATE. Not even Southgate would be able to win it for Manchester United.
