James Maddison and Jack Grealish both have been left out? I don't think it was a good call truthfully. Southgate will continue to be criticized with the choices of his own. Maddison had a way better season than Grealish so I would expect to see him at least. There was a friendly a few days ago and he made an assist in 30 minutes. It looks like that also didn't seem like a good signal to Southgate.  Sad

Why is Trent categorized as a midfielder in the image? Has he started to play mainly in the midfield and have I missed it?  Tongue  I know his other positions are DM and CM but throughout his career we have seen him playing as RB.

Spot on! All you've written down are hundred percent accurate. Madison also had a good season evennas he returned back from Injury.
Alexander Arnold is know for his passing skills asides that,  what else does he bring to the game?
Axing Harry Maguire was also something I loved, he lacked pace and that would definitely affect and reduce the pace of them game. Whoever is giving Gareth Southgate these advice is doing a good thing but the place of James Madison shouldn't have been moved for someone else.

Let us hope that they perform and get the result, so much expectations yet again from him and these lads.
Sending Jack Grealish back home, Harry Maguire is cool, the same should have also been donw with Luke Shaw, he's barely played a game, how fit could he be?
Southgate choice of picking players is among the main  reasons England has not been able to win a trophy since his charge even with the depth of players available for him.

Though this can be said to be among the best he has picked since took charged because there are usually more surprised names ignored but still yet James would have been a top priority for other coaches who knows what they're doing especially from his recent form being among the best Spurs player this season and also among the best Epl midfielders this season, now I'm wondering  how good is this Adam Wharton though.

The truth is it is a shame for Enes Ünal, a great player of the Turkish national team, however they have a very good team and can make the difference, personally I also think like you, I position Portugal as first in their group, but as long as the coach knows how to handle the kids who are anti cr7 because Bruno and a few others find it difficult not to pass the player too much, then you have to add these things, as a coach I would not even call BRUNO, I would call another player who would do a much better job and with that I would make way for new generation relief players who at least let themselves be guided and advised by the veterans and can do a better job and not have what happened in Qatar happen again.
As someone who watched super league because I like betting on it (I would suggest to everyone, it's quite easy to make some money from that league) so I know plenty of their players, and of course we have all seen what Arda guler did.

I have to say, they have preferred some players I am not familiar with during the last Italy friendly, don't know if it was just to see some of the players they want to cut, but in the end I know that if they do go out with their "ideal" eleven, and manager doesn't do some stupid decision making, they are actually quite good. I believe that they could probably do something very good, like semi finals or so, it looks like they are capable by sheer talent, we just need to see if manager does well.

Germany is one of the strongest teams in Europe right now. But that doesn't mean that the match will be one-sided. Scotland are well known for upsets. On top of that they have promising young players in their squad, such as Scott McTominay and John McGinn. We still have 8 days to go for this match, but before that Scotland will be taking on Finland tomorrow at the Hampden Park. In Euro, they are placed in one of the toughest possible groups along with Germany, Hungary and Switzerland.
Yes it`s true, it`s one of the strongest teams together with Spain for example.
However, I don`t like the way they play, I don`t like the rigidity they have in midfield and in general I prefer the typical strokes of genius of Latin players, Spanish or Brazilian. I like to see fun actions and not just aimed at getting the result.

Germany as a host and they are as one of champion candidates in this tournament but probably they still required more time to adapt because under Julian Nagelsmann Germany performance still not fully impressive even since handled by Julian Nagelsmann Germany have already to through an 7 friendlies matches and Germany only able to gets 3 wins from those matches and 2 lost even the latest is Germany only playing draw from Ukraine and indeed Nagelsmann was adding some of interesting names into Germany squad such as Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz seems the current squad of Germany will be dominated by young players

We all know Florian Wirtz performance was very fantastic with Leverkusen so i have no wonder Nagelsmann was putting him into Germany squad for current tournament and i am looking forward to see his performance later whether he can play as well as at Leverkusen or not and about their debut match in Euro 2024 against Scotland i haven't checked the odds yet but as a host i will assume Germany is the favourite but i don't think Germany can easily to beat Scotland because during qualification stages Scotland performance also very impressive

Germany is indeed a very strong team at the moment. Moreover, at this Euro, Germany will be the host, so it is certain that Germany will play very well because the superters or ultras from their country will definitely support it to the maximum. Then when we talk about Scotland, I don't think this team can be underestimated, because if you look at the match record during Euro qualifying, Scotland played very well. The reason is that from the 8 matches played, Scotland was able to achieve 5 wins, 2 draws and only experienced 1 defeat. In fact, Scotland is also a pretty great team. Even in the Euro qualifying match, Scotland also managed to beat Spain in the first meeting. So you could say that Scotland could be the team that will give a surprise at the euro this time.
Even though in the euro this time Scotland was placed with Germany, Hungary and also Switzerland. Maybe only Germany will make things difficult for Scotland. Because of Switzerland and Hungary, I don't think the quality is much different to Scotland. So I'm sure Scotland can definitely be runner up in group A and qualify for the next round.

And Scotland's match against Finland will of course be a very important test match for Scotland, to see how mature the squad they currently have is for the upcoming Euro.

England has many high quality players, but they have had problems when choosing coaches, in my opinion I don't see England being able to win this Euro, they will be able to pass the group stage because they were lucky to be in a group that has weak teams , but when they move on to another stage and encounter strong teams, they will lose and be eliminated. I don't understand why the coach chose not to take Jack Grealish, but we'll see if the coach really made a good choice in choosing this squad or if he made a bad choice in choosing this squad. If England's performance in this Euro is a failure, the coach will receive a lot of criticism
After some tournaments, it is a first tournament Maguire will not be called by Southgate but I see Maguire does not have good performances for Manchester United and his skills are not better than other central defenders in England so this decision is reasonable.

Grealish struggled to appear in Manchester City squad, first because he got many injuries and second is his performances were not good enough to convince Pep Guardiola. Striking out Grealish is another reasonable decision from Southgate too.

I only feel disagree with Southgate because he did not choose Maddison but this player has never been in serious plan of Southgate recent years. Luke Shaw was chosen by Southgate but this decision is like very emotional and I disagree with Southgate too. Luke will not be ready for Euro and England squad so calling a player mainly will stay on bench because not fully recovered, is not reasonable at all.

In my opinion the coach made a bad decision, he only succeeded in assembling inexperienced players who has never been tested in a major tournament. Look at the players like Cole Palmer, Watkins, Kobie Mainoo and others who made the squad list. See at some point experience is what is needed to go through at the big stage. England won't have any chance when they meet teams like France and Germany Portugal included and Netherlands. Southgate be acting like he is a master of the game but he has nothing in his head, I hope England get rid of him after this tournament. Of England had a good coach they would have won a trophy since Southgate took over. You can't tell that Super Jack doesn't meet the criteria to be selected, he is a top player and he play good football and the fans love him so what's the problem with Southgate now.

On my own opinion, I think I am a bit skeptical of the exclusion of jack grealish, because he is way better than Bowen that was selected, so that decision too me wasn't right, and as for the experience you are actually talking about, you are very much correct on that, where is Raheem sterling? Where is harry Maguire, though they are not that perfect, but their experience will be very vital in the tournament, especially when they are up against the bigger boys, like France, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Italy, because all my time as a football fan, I have never seen a youthful team win anything big especially in European cup like this, so am very much in support with your sentiment bro.

And as for Southgate, I believe that his future will be determined by the outcome of this tournament, and I believe that he knows very well, so it's up to him to deliver or fail this time around.

About Southgate, I just believe he is pulling this team down. For many years he couldn't achieve a single title with such great squads. Isn't it time for England to look for a better manager already? I guess they would if he fails in Euro 2024.
I agree with this because after all, if you look at the situation of the current England national team, they are filled with a lot of young talents who have individual skills above average but because Southgate cannot manage it well, a team as good as England seems to be ordinary because Southgate's schemes and plans are not that good as a coach so in this case it would be great if England were looking for a new coach at least better than Southgate.

Southgate is indeed a coach who is still quite good it's just that with the current conditions I still feel that the England national team is still too big for him to manage so it would be better if he looks for a club or national team that is indeed comparable because the talents of the players even in the current qualifications are still quite good but for the performance and scheme that Gates showed actually in my opinion there is nothing special.

I don't have a problem with Maguire if his name is on the out list according to this source because Walker can play as a CB even though we often see him as an RB at his club. Marc Guehi is also still a good choice along with Dunk in that position. Guehi is also good at playing in the DM position.
Southgate is smart in choosing players who will be called up to strengthen the England national team. This means that Southgate has planned an option if a player in a certain position cannot be played due to injury while the Euros are underway, then the player on the bench can fill that position. I don't think there will be too much blame or criticism for the decisions that Southgate has made.

Why is Trent categorized as a midfielder in the image? Has he started to play mainly in the midfield and have I missed it?  Tongue  I know his other positions are DM and CM but throughout his career we have seen him playing as RB.
RB is the primary TA position. DM and CM are other positions that can be played if the coach wants them. With Liverpool, TA often played as a central midfielder and was successful without making any mistakes. TA's advantages, such as the accuracy of long passes, have meant that he has been drafted into the midfielder position.

I do not have much problem with the selection of the England national team coach. I also believe that Jack grealish needed to be in the England squad going for the Euro competition. If I were to be the England national team coach, I will not exclude him. Instead I will need to drop Toney and choose Jack grealish ahead of him. But I also do not see a lot of problem with the attack of England. If a player like Marcus rashford could be dropped, Jack grealish could also be dropped. I am not saying that Jack did not have a better season than rashford. What I am saying in essence is that the English national team actually has a lot of good forward. Their problems is not forward, wingers or strikers included. Their major problem falls in defense. That is why I was so weary when I learned that Harry Maguire was dropped. We all know how Harry Maguire has helped the England national team for the past years even when he was not in good form in Manchester United. Making a space for him amidst the minor injury wouldn't have cost much.

This very profitable group for Portugal will make it easier for them to qualify for the next round, especially considering that the players called up by Roberto Martinez to take part in the Euros are very high quality, there are B. Fernandes C. Ronaldo and also Rafael Leo and many more but these names are stars At the moment.

Looking at group F, Portugal has high hopes of winning this group, and my prediction for second place is that Tuurkiye and the Czech Republic will follow in third place because the Czechs are currently better than Georgia in terms of squad depth and playing mentality, but this is only The prediction is still wide open as to who will advance to the next round.
I feel like winning the group will not be an issue for Portugal at all, they will be out of the group stages for sure, that will not be an issue. The real issue is that they do not look good enough to beat some of the bigger teams, France, England, even Belgium or so, it looks like they are not that great. I feel like it would be quite tough for them to win.

The thing about the current line up is that they are good but they are not "that" good and they are not a tournament team, if it was just 30 games between the clubs, then maybe we could have seen them do better, but because it's knock off, they fail to win every game, and that results with them getting early exit. This happened in many cups before, and I sense this will be the same.
I agree with you that qualifying from the group is not a difficult thing for Portugal. But the question is how far Portugal can advance in the UEFA Euro this time. I'm not sure that Portugal will win, because teams like France, England and Germany are the favorites to win and are difficult to beat.

I'm daily hoping they'll be able to win it for players like Toni Kroos and Marco Reus leaving international football at the end of this seasons football Euros Competition.

Germans have a good squad from defense to attack, maybe not a sound goal getter in attacker bit they can at least rely on Kai Havertz and Muller who helped them both clubs respectively.

McGinn is 29, Scott MC Tominay I can't remember but they're no youngins. They're not new to tue game but I don't see them with holding Germany.
Julian Nagelsmann will definitely come up with some dangerous football, the like of Jamal Musiala and. Sane leading the wings too, I hope they utilize whatever chance they have finally.

Since they last won the Fifa World Cup Competition in the year 2014, they have struggled in all European Competitions they've played. Hoping this is some good chance for them up.

Scott McTominay is 27 years old, while John McGinn is 29. Both of them are still in their 20s and that is why I labelled them as "promising young players". They have another decade of top tier football left with them. And I am not lunatic enough to say that Scotland would be the favorites here. Germany is a much stronger team without any doubt. And they will have the home advantage as well. Anyway, let's see what Julian Nagelsmann has in store for the Scots. It is going to be a very tough match.

Looking the opponent team in Group F is not problem for Portugal national teams winning the group phase except Turkey as only one difficult opponent teams than Georgia and Czech Republic national teams. Portugal must finish on first standings finish of Group F to get easily opponent teams on knock out round facing the second place opponent team of group E.

Before facing Czech Republic on the first match of group phase, Portugal has two friendly matches against Croatia and Ireland, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez has opportunity to make some rotation and make permanent starting line up for the first match. I am predicting in Euro 2024 get potential for Cristiano Ronaldo bring his teams reach until semifinal or final round.

outside of Jack grealish that's missing out in this squad, I kind of like this selection to be honest. If you observe the team, it's a combination of different experience players that have been in the football space for a long time and some other young players who are doing pretty well for thier clubs and would want to add this to thier portfolio. I don't know why with all this squad they don't play too well in most tournaments and end up coming back earlier than expected but I just hope that this time around it would be different. A combination of harry Kane, Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham would do great justice to the attack but I just hope that they will give cole palmer better playing time and allow him do the Chelsea magic for his home country. I'm seriously anticipating next premier league season and see how he can improve in his performance and as a Chelsea fan, having him and Gallagher on the same thing just balances things all up.

So I would say that by the level of players now England is the Euro favorite and Southgate's team includes Kane, Bellingham, Palmer, Watkins, some of the best strikers in the world.
England has good players in every line. naturally, they will be favorites at this year's Euros. especially in the group phase, I'm sure it won't be too difficult for England to win the group.
I think after the group phase is finished, a strong competitor from England might host Germany. But let's see first how the performance of several countries that will be favorites will pass through the group phase.
For this year's Euros, I support Germany and England.

I think just the choice of Southgate is obvious, because Palmer had a brilliant season at Chelsea, scored more than 20 goals, was the leader of the team, Ollie Watkins scored 19 at Aston Villa and had the best season of his career, Kobbie Mainoo apparently decided to give a chance at his age to play at the Euros, after all, he is 10 years younger than Grealish.
Grealish was a failure this season, he didn't play at all in May, scored only 3 goals during the season, as well as Mainoo, who played as a substitute.
So I would say that by the level of players now England is the Euro favorite and Southgate's team includes Kane, Bellingham, Palmer, Watkins, some of the best strikers in the world.

07 Sep 2015   Scotland v Germany   2-3   UEFA European Championship

Germany is one of the strongest teams in Europe right now. But that doesn't mean that the match will be one-sided. Scotland are well known for upsets. On top of that they have promising young players in their squad, such as Scott McTominay and John McGinn. We still have 8 days to go for this match, but before that Scotland will be taking on Finland tomorrow at the Hampden Park. In Euro, they are placed in one of the toughest possible groups along with Germany, Hungary and Switzerland.
Scotland have one of the strongest teams in years I think and John McGinn who had a good season for Aston Villa and scored 6 goals and Scott McTominay who scored 7 goals for United and for a while was one of the best players in the team are really the leaders of the team now.
The Scottish national team is quite a balanced team and in the course of the selection for Euro2024 there scored and strikers and defenders and midfielders and in general the midfield line looks very good, but Germany played only friendly matches and let them be the favorite of the Euro, but this is only until the first game has not started, further I think Scotland will still be able to surprise everyone.
