I agree. I wish the GOAT could play in this match and we could watch a hat-trick from him. I can't wait to watch him at Euro 2024. Portugal scored 24 goals in the group and they haven't conceded yet. They are going to Euro 2024 with a great performance. I hope they win this tournament and the GOAT will add another trophy to its collection.
The spotlight in the Euro 2024 competition may be taken by a younger player, Ronaldo have enjoyed it for long, I do not not expect much from him in the competition. Portugal as a team are already lucky that they can play and win games without him being in the game, so they will do well in the competition with or without Ronaldo, whether he is in very good playing condition or not. Portugal's success will happen if the coach is able to make strong and tough decisions including keeping Ronaldo from starting if he does not perform well when given the opportunity.

looking at group where Portugal is makes you wonder how it is possible to draw a group like that one
but they were very lucky, indeed

that does not decrease their attitude to win it all without conceiving, but more interesting than not, they scored 15 goals from those to Luxembourg, in two matches, and still Luxembourg has some chances to qualify, if they manage to beat Slovakia, what a show for them

It can be considered a good season for Luxembourg. I think it's great compared to previous years. Last year's Nations league performance was also good. They drew with Türkiye. If they can finish second in this tournament, this will probably be their biggest achievement for their country. I would like it to be a surprise because I'm sure they will add color to the tournament.

Today Spain will play another qualifying match for Group A against Cyprus. As we know, Cyprus is currently the only team that is bottom of group A and they have not got a single point from the last 4 matches. Will this time Spain go back to feasting on goals like they did before when they beat Georgia to the ground? We should look forward to it. On the other hand, Lamine Yamal will definitely be a starter again and he will fill his usual place as the right winger.

Cyprus are clearly the weakest team in the group and Spain could dispatch them with a big defeat today. Portugal won with 9 goals yesterday. Let's see what Spain will do in the match. Yamal is starting to play at the senior level and started playing matches with Spain at this age. He has the potential to be a player that will shape the future. I'm curious about his performance today.

Spain should be at the top of the standings and not be runners up, because Spain has better quality than the other teams in this group. But maybe Spain is not really targeting to win the group, because just being runner up is enough to qualify. Also regarding the ongoing Spain vs Cyprus match, in reality Spain was already leading with a 2-0 win in the 33rd minute. But yes, if Spain is not targeting to win the group, then it looks like Spain will also not be targeting to win with big score like Portugal did. Because after all, winning with clean sheets is basically already a good win.

I was surprised by not seeing Ronaldo against Luxembourg. It was just the game for him as he could have made even a hat-trick probably.  Grin  It was a really incredible effort by Portugal. I mean Luxembourg collected 10 points until this match. But when it comes to facing Portugal they can't do anything good just as it happened before as well.

Today there is an important match for Group C. If Italy win against Ukraine they are taking the second position from them. It was unexpected for me to see Italy struggling against North Macedonia once again. But I think Spalletti will start doing a good work by winning against Ukraine today. What do you think about Spalletti's future at this team?
Portugal players were on different high level, displaying their stellar performance on the pitch. Portugal had no mercy facing a mediocre country interms of football, thrashing Luxembourg 9 nil with full domination and emphatic winning. I'm not surprised because Luxembourg happens to be one of these countries with mediocre players that are still trying to adapt to high level of football. It's just a big missed on the big name, Cristiano Ronaldo missing out on the game against Luxembourg, he would have scored an hattrick. We all know how versatile he can be on the pitch, very good in positioning for goal scoring.

One of the important matches that I am curious about the result of today will be the Italy-Ukraine match. While the matches in Group C were competitive, both teams drew against their opponents in their last matches.Of course, although Italy is the favorite, it is important for Ukraine to take points from this match for themselves.Ukraine, which is 3 points ahead of Italy with one more match, will want to leave here with a draw at worst.I think the point they got against England gave them morale.Italy's draw against North Macedonia and loss of points also worked in their favor.
I expect Italy can able to beat North Macedonia before but they were failed to did that although at that time Italy were very dominate the match but North Macedonia can successfully to stole point from them and now against Ukraine i think win result is mandatory for them because it will keep their chances to finish at second second position under England but to beat Ukraine it won't be easy because Italy under Spaletti haven't found their shape and besides that i am sure Ukraine in the positive condition after they can able to get draw result from strong team England however although on the paper Italy is the favourite but i personally doubt they will overcomes Ukraine because in my opinion Ukraine isn't weak team but for betting options i was considering to bet both teams to scores

For Portugal, this win marks their largest-ever margin of victory. Luxembourg has consistently been an opponent that Portugal dominates, and this is part of the reason why Ronaldo has scored many international goals against them. Although this time Ronaldo was absent, it's likely that if he were on the field, he would have scored at least four goals. However, Portugal's performance in this game wasn't much different their recent match against their opponent.
Luxembourg beat Bosnia and Iceland, so it’s difficult to call them a weak team, but it’s clear that Portugal is too strong a team for them, in two matches they conceded 15 goals from Portugal , this is kind of crazy. And despite this, they still have a chance of qualifying from the group, their main competitor will be Slovakia, with whom they have already played draw first leg, although I have little faith that Luxembourg will be able to do this.
I mean to be fair it's exactly the level of difference between the national clubs, the result is not shocking at all. We do not see these type of results all that easily because teams do not really work that hard to do this, if their score reaches like 5-0 or something then they just cut the gas pedal and simply just relax and rest of the pitch itself.

This sort of makes sense because we are talking about something that is quite good on the long run to rest and be ready for the next game instead of tire yourself out or increase the risk of injury or anything like that. This time Portugal didn't do that, they wanted to see how many goals they could score and they tested that theory and played well enough that day to have this score.

Portugal are less dependent on Cristiano Ronaldo, and that's a good thing for the national team, given that it's only a short time before the player retires
We're sad to be witnessing the end of a legacy, but that's how soccer is, you have to make room for new players and prepare for Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers
Ronaldo will still be called up often until he retires from international football. He is in the team to help the younger players transition into a team with the same fighting spirit of Portugal and Usher in the new generation of players that will take over the burden of carrying the team in big competitions. Bruno Fernandes was a key element that contributed to their historic win against Luxembourg, he can step up in games where he is needed.

Spain against Cyprus, and Spain should be able to win comfortably against Cyprus who have lost their last four games and are the poorest in the group.

First of all, a team like Luxembourg cannot play openly at home to Portugal. It was suicide as we saw Portugal win by a big score. Portugal look much better without Ronaldo in the starting lineup, They have excellent players like Ramos and Diogo Jota who can cause more damage recently. Yes, it's true as you said, maybe this is the last competition for Ronaldo, he must realize that his time will end. I hope even though he is still in the Euro squad but I want him to start the game from the bench.

After the Euro Competitions, I predict Portugal will be a serious force in the next world cup when Ronaldo is not there. They played like a team when he wasn't around.
With his experience, Ronaldo probably adds something tactically to the team.In the future, when he leaves football, maybe we will see him take over Portugal as a manager and this will be an inspiration for the young players.I think he is still a big brother to the young players. They have a lot to learn from him and I think they should never miss it.Portugal will still be in pain without Ronaldo. In a way, it is important for the young players to perform in this way so that Ronaldo's eyes are not left behind.

Spain lost to Scotland, that was a surprise. I don't think Spain will lose again in this group. They will win their 5 matches or at least get a draw from one and win others. Beating Georgia with 7 goals was already a warning to other teams. They had 33 shots in that game, the score could've been more.
Cyprus have no claim in this tournament. They didn't even get a single point from the group yet. I believe Spain will make another Georgia type of game. Cyprus have to defend well or they will see 4-5 goals in their net. Spain didn't play with Cyprus since 1999. It will be an interesting game in that matter.
I didn't see any good odds to take any risk. Over 3.5 goals have only 1.33 odds.

Portugal were cruising against Luxembourg yesterday. Before the game I knew Portugal was going to win. Although Portugal were without Cristiano Ronaldo due to suspension but still produced a hugely impressive display, Bruno Fernandes scoring and providing a hat-trick of assists. Diogo Jota also recorded a brace and an assist. I think they’re a better team with or without Ronaldo.
It may be one of Ronaldo's last tournaments, so it is more logical to give the young players a chance. We can say that in such matches, it is better for the young players to get a chance and play rather than Ronaldo.I don't know if they would have scored 9 goals if Ronaldo was there, but I think they would have scored a little less goals because the game would slow down and the game would be based on him.

Croatia, Wales, Slovakia, Portugal all look like they could win, and Iceland vs Bosnia is a confusing one and I can't really say which one of them will win but I will wager on Bosnia because that feels a bit more possible to me. Lets see how the situation goes, but I believe that it will be fine.
And once again Bosnia managed to disappoint people. I warned another member yesterday that they are simply not consistent enough so even when they are clear favorites I avoid betting on them, let alone on the matches like last night.

Regarding Armenia vs Croatia, it should have finished more than 0-1 but at this time I will take this minimal win. Its very important for us to try win all remaining games as top 5 teams in EURO qualifications will be also top seeded teams in EURO meaning avoiding some tough oponnents.
Iceland certainly slammed the door loudly, not letting Bosnia into the qualifiers. After such a defeat Bosnia is unlikely to be able to rise at least to second place, so apparently their selection is over.

Croatia can only be congratulated! We can say that they are already 90% out, it remains to not lose the remaining matches, which most likely Croatia will do and quietly get out of first place in the group. To be honest, it seemed that the fight in the group will be hard, after all, Turkey, Wales and Armenia are not such weak opponents, but Croatia almost completely dominated in this selection and except for Turkey Croatia had no worthy opponents.

The image above is an image for handicap betting options in the Spain - Cyprus match, as we can see that to get at least @2 odds, Spain bettors must first have a 4 goal deficit, we can use this as a reference if the Spain - Cyprus match will result in lots of goals. I chose not to bet on this match because it's very risky, on the one hand I doubt that Spain can make at least a win by 5 goals but on the other hand I also doubt Cyprus if I have to choose them because they don't even have 1 point in the group standing.

Norway will face Georgia at home.I don't think Norway can get out of the group as it is difficult for Norway to get out of the group and it is difficult for Spain to drop points, but they will want to win this game no matter what. I don't think Georgia will have much of a chance against Norway after conceding 7 goals against Spain.
In the other match in the group Spain will face South Cyprus, I expect it to be a very easy match for Spain, I expect Spain to score 3-4 goals in this match with the effect of the different victory against Georgia.

This performance by Portugal shows they can do without Ronaldo and honestly I'm happy for the first time about it, because I doubt there would have been this much goals as all attention would have been on him, passes that should have converted to goals might be missed. They have shown serious dominance and if I were Luxembourg, I'd just stop playing if possible. Portugal have never scored up to nine goals in any international game and this is the first kind of victory of it's kind. With fifteen points already in the bag, their slot for the qualification has already been solidified and today's win was just the icing on the cake.
Roberto Martinez will be proud of his boys as they have displayed unrivaled control and domination and I'm believing this will not just end here for them.

Let's not get carried away. Usually these big goal games are a one-off. Remember Portugal struggled with chances just in the last game against an opponent better than Lux.

But totally agree. One more proof they can do without Ronaldo. He served well no doubt but it's long long time to move on now for this guy.

Portugal destroyed their opponent Luxembourg. Not satisfied with the 4 goals scored in the first half, Portugal scored 5 goals in 6 shots in the second half and managed to score 9 goals in total. We can say that it rained on their opponent as a rain of goals. Thus, Portugal, who made 6/6 in the group, has definitely guaranteed their exit from the group. In the other matches in the group, there were again matches where the hosts were defeated.Iceland managed to defeat Bosnia-Herzegovina with a last minute goal.Bosnia-Herzegovina dominated the match in general, but they failed to find a goal and this cost them a little bit.
Slovakia, on the other hand, won without difficulty against an easy opponent and with this win they moved into 2nd place.
