@W Jr. I’m yet surprised that the coach has kept Ronaldo around because he won’t be much use for them and there’s the fact that they play much better when he’s not starting and further Bruno also performs better in his absence hence I guess soon Ronaldo will have to quit playing for Portugal. Lastly Portugal are improving a lot but they need to consistently win but things will chance for them when Ronaldo is back hence what do you’ll think the coach should do i.e. bench Ronaldo or tell him to move on?

With the Saudi Pro League ongoing at the moment, I don't think that Ronaldo should stay away from those matches and concentrate on the Euro qualifiers. Do Portugal need Ronaldo to make sure that they get full 3 points against a team like Luxembourg? I am quite surprised that Ronaldo is still representing Portugal, after the humiliation he suffered during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Portuguese coach (Fernando Santos) refused to include him in the starting XI during knockout matches, despite him being fully fit. And it didn't worked well then, as they got kicked out of the tournament after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Morocco.

I was surprised by not seeing Ronaldo against Luxembourg. It was just the game for him as he could have made even a hat-trick probably.  Grin  It was a really incredible effort by Portugal. I mean Luxembourg collected 10 points until this match. But when it comes to facing Portugal they can't do anything good just as it happened before as well.

Today there is an important match for Group C. If Italy win against Ukraine they are taking the second position from them. It was unexpected for me to see Italy struggling against North Macedonia once again. But I think Spalletti will start doing a good work by winning against Ukraine today. What do you think about Spalletti's future at this team?
Portugal players were on different high level, displaying their stellar performance on the pitch. Portugal had no mercy facing a mediocre country interms of football, thrashing Luxembourg 9 nil with full domination and emphatic winning. I'm not surprised because Luxembourg happens to be one of these countries with mediocre players that are still trying to adapt to high level of football. It's just a big missed on the big name, Cristiano Ronaldo missing out on the game against Luxembourg, he would have scored an hattrick. We all know how versatile he can be on the pitch, very good in positioning for goal scoring.

I'm sure Cristiano Ronaldo is experiencing the biggest sadness in Portugal because he couldn't be on the field in the match, which was a complete festival. It was a 4-goal match in the first half, and with 5 more goals scored in the second half, Portugal virtually wiped Luxembourg off the field with a total of 9 goals. They still haven't conceded a single goal in the qualifiers, which shows how good they are.

the games ended, Spain, which played against Cyprus, won very easily, in this game Spain managed to score 5 goals, and an interesting detail was that many of the goals scored in this game came from players who entered after the game had started, Joselu scored 1 goal, Feran Torres scored 3 goals. perhaps this is a strong signal for the spain coach. I don't know why he put Alvaro Morta and Unique Williams in the starting eleven when he had better options like Joselu and Feran Torrens. It is a fact that when Barcelona has good results, consequently the Spanish main team also has a good squad and victories, perhaps because many talented Barcelona players are called up to the Spanish national team.

Switzerland, which played against Andora, also won comfortably in a game in which Switzerland managed to score 3 goals and did not concede a single goal, it had 85% possession of the ball, it was as if Switzerland were playing alone on the field, with this The result Switzerland has 14 points and is at the top of the group and in the same group there was Israel's game against Belarus, in this game Israel managed to win but only scored 1 goal just when the game was close to ending. I would say that Israel were very lucky to score a goal before the game ended.

Romania played against Kosovo, in a game in which I saw Romania as the big favorite to win the game, they had 73% possession of the ball and managed to score 2 goals in this game while not conceding any goals, with this result being Romania occupies second place in the group. Austria beat Sweden, it really is a surprise seeing Austria being in second position in this group and looking at the points in my opinion in this group they will pass Belgium and Austria as both teams have 13 points while Sweden which is in third position has only 7 points, it's true that there are still 4 games to go, but I highly doubt that it will change the position of the teams in this group in relation to who will go through

Slava Ukraini!
Italy won important game against Ukraine 2:1 and now keep everything in their hands. They had enough chances to win game much easier, but on the other hand, Ukraine had several moments to punish them.
Austria winagainst Sweden is big surprise for me. Sweden loss at home is rare thing. Arnautovic isn't big name in club football anymore, but he still one of crucial players in Austria national team scored 2 goals tonight. Sweden basically is out of EURO and IIRC they won't qualify through Nations League too.
Romania - Kosovo game was stopped after 18 minutes because of political reasons, Romania fans were chanting Kosovo is Serbia or something similar. It was resumed only after 45 minutes and Romania won it 2:0.

Portugal 9 - 0 Luxembourg, I assume Cristiano Ronaldo are pissed to not participate in this festival,
Yeah, because such kind of games is perfect way for him to imrpove count of goals that he scored for national team. Ronaldo record is amazing, but he scored huge part of these goals against small teams. For example, from 123 goals that he scored for Portugal, 8 was against Luxembourg, 8 against Lithuania or 6 against Andorra.

In fact, I missed the chance to place my bet on that Portugal game hehehe, so I think I'll do a multiple in victories of Italy, North Macedonia and Norway, with 3.43 odds  Cool Cool Cool

Another winning bet hehehe, I managed to hit that multiple of 3 after hitting one of 4 in the first round
I finished this leg of the qualifiers with a good profit, and I'm going to leave it separate just for the Euro qualifiers
I've been getting good results from these bets

Has anyone else made a profit from these last few games?

I almost put a Sweden win on this bet, but I didn't want to risk that much, I already considered Italy and Norway to be enough of a risk

I was quite surprised to see Austria take those three points in such a convincing manner. They have been very efficient with their chances and Arnautovic is still going a great job although not much is hard about him when he plays for his club. But both teams have to work on their passing accuracy as that was quite obviously a problem for both of them.

And in general this was probably the most important game in the group so far as it seemed to be very likely that this group will be decided between Sweden and Austria for the second rank. Now it is 7 points advantage for Austria over Sweden. It is a bit sad as Sweden is actually a nice team and country and I would have liked to see them play at the Euro 24.

I see the Portuguese team in a different way, they are growing into a stronger team with the birth of young players and hopefully with coach Roberto Martinez, he will give opportunities to young stars. This new generation of Portuguese players is on fire. They can reach the final at the Euros if they give retirement to C. Ronaldo. But I don't hate Ronaldo. There is a big difference in gameplay when Portugal plays with Ronaldo and without Ronaldo. Ronaldo makes this team's game much worse because all the players focus on him, but they look more fluid when playing without Ronaldo. I may not agree with you this time, in my opinion if Ronaldo plays I'm not sure Portugal's score will be 9-0 against Luxembourg. IMO

This round has big results and as usual nations with lowest rank found themselves beaten badly. Greece 5 - 0 Gibraltar, Portugal 9 - 0 Luxembourg, I assume Cristiano Ronaldo are pissed to not participate in this festival, Spain 6 - 0 Cyprus, Belgium 5 - 0 Estonia..
Meanwhile, Italy finally won vs Ukraine 2 - 1 and they passed to the second spot!

The Italy-Ukraine match was important for the second place in the group and Italy won a very important victory to get out of the group. Spain got a different victory as expected. It was a disaster match for Cyprus. Fortunately, they did not concede 9 goals like Luxembourg.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Italy once again misses the result they need - missing a goal “into the locker room” is always psychologically unpleasant, and now only one goal separates them from disaster (probably even a draw with Ukraine would be a catastrophic result). Maybe psychological pressure will affect the players (plus, in fact, the Ukrainian national team is a strong team in itself) in a negative sense. Spalletti now needs to find the right words to set up the players for the second half.

Italy survived this time, winning 2-1 against Ukraine and are now level on points with Ukraine in the race for EURO 2024; The bigger question meanwhile is that is this a sustainable performance by italy? can they make the EUROS and defend their title in Germany? i think it is unlikely, what do you think ?

First, they need to qualify. They have one easy game ahead with Malta, one strange one with North Macedonia (who knows how they will play each other for the third time) and two difficult ones - away against England and Ukraine. Success here is far from guaranteed.
Well, in general, as long as France in its modern form is in the tournament, it will be the favorite. Everyone else has a chance and Italy doesn't look any better than everyone else, so I'd give them 10 percent at most.

Well, 6-0 as expected. 28 shots and 6 goals, also not counted ones as offside and hit the post. Overall superb performance from Spain against Cyprus. I feel like Yamal will be the new football god. This kid has a gift. It's always nice to watch Nico Williams as well. I see this Spain team as real title contender. Spain has a great new generation that can continue their great run in major tournaments. I don't say this just for this match or qualifying games, I see them as a team the best one in Europe. Only maybe France is close to their level, all other European national teams are below these two giants.

Some matches need the influence of a potential player to be in it for the match to be won, and there are also some, that don't need one to consider the match to be won.
I think that's the reason why C. Ronaldo is not featured in Portugal against Luxembourg match. The coach of Portugal might had it in him to find it necessary to feature C. Ronaldo for a bigger match than having him in a mediocre national team that can't stand his presence in a match.
In summary, Luxembourg is no match for the Portugal team. Had it been C. Ronaldo had been featured in the match, Luxembourg would have still conceded as many goals from the Portugal team at the end of their 90mins encounter with each other

My bet was on Portugal to win and they did. It was expected just like I had written in the Nigerian board when the score line was 6 - 0 with Sao Tome, the Portuguese scoring 9 goals in the match was easy-peasy. Nothing to truly celebrate here. They knew they were the better and dominant side. The only comment on the Portuguese team that I have to say is that I like the new crop of young players. I certainly have no doubt that whenever Ronaldo retires, this team will still be on fire and take on strong teams like Brazil, England, France, Argentina without ever being dependent on him.

Portuguese player was star in the league now, very good performance as compared to the last year.In the Group J,they dominating and secure the place 1 and all win in the played matches was unique. They don’t give mercy to the opponent was proved in the last match with the score of 9-0.The game against the Luxembourg was like the match to the team which is bottom of the Group J.But the fact is Luxembourg was in the third place with 3 wins and 1 draw. This time Portugal never give mercy to any of their group was the fact.Portugal had won all the 6 matches and top the table with 18 points and in the safer side.If the Ronaldo also was in the team against Luxembourg just image the goal count.

As I expected, Spain got a win with plenty of goals. After scoring 2 goals in the first half and taking the lead, Spain increased the pressure towards the end of the match and scored 4 more goals and won a total of 6-0. Thus, despite having 1 match less, they managed to increase their points to 9.
In the other match in the group, Norway defeated Georgia 2-1 and managed to increase its score to 7. Norway, which scored goals with Nusa's assists in the first half, scored late in the second half, but this was not very important for them.

It can be considered a good season for Luxembourg. I think it's great compared to previous years. Last year's Nations league performance was also good. They drew with Türkiye. If they can finish second in this tournament, this will probably be their biggest achievement for their country. I would like it to be a surprise because I'm sure they will add color to the tournament.

Yes, unexpected events during sporting events can produce special moments that spectators treasure. A source of national pride for Luxembourg would surely be their good performance and possibly win in this competition. Underdog teams creating a name for themselves on the world stage is always inspiring, and I'm sure many fans, including yourself, are anxiously anticipating following their path. Let's hope Luxembourg has a thrilling and productive tournament season!

    Italy vs Ukraine

Italy is having a wonderful time in the match as the second goal has been scored on the 29th minutes of the match. The goal was thought to be an offside, not until VAR called for goal check and it was counted as a goal by the referee. It was clear that the second goal was an offside but the referee has the final decision. Both goals was scored by Fratessi on the 12th and on the 29th minutes.

The game is getting tensed as Ukraine is not relenting but mounting pressure on the Germans, which lead to the cancellation of one goal by Yamolenko on the 41st minutes of the game. I was thinking that Italy will win the games easily but with the way Ukraine are pressuring to equalise the second goal might not give Italy the chance to win this game easily. The first half is over and I believe that there will be more goals in the second half.
