Yes, Sweden actually lost second place in the group in the head-to-head match and now they are waiting for participation in the tournament of losers, although I’m not sure that they will be able to qualify at least there - they took last place in League B in group 4 and were relegated to League C. Given that selection for the underdog tournament is based on performance in the Nations League, this defeat to Austria turns into a complete disaster for Sweden.

From what I've read about the 3 remaining places to Euro 2024:

Quote
The remaining three teams will be decided through the play-offs, featuring 12 teams selected based on their performance in the 2022/23 Nations League.
Source

The 12 teams that will participate in this play-off will probably be the top teams in League B, C and D.
I don't think League A will take part in this play-off, but I'm not entirely sure.

And Sweden won't be one of them, as they finished very poorly indeed, in last place of their group
Only a miracle will qualify Sweden

If anyone knows any more information about the 3 spots, please post it here

Lukaku is still a good player, it is just that he hasn't been able to play with a single team for too long, and he keeps on having his system adjusted all the time. This results with him starting over nearly every year, first Chelsea then inter then Chelsea then inter then Roma and so forth, he keeps changing and teams change meanwhile, managers change, tactics change, and he is not the person he used to be because of this.

I believe that he is good at his nation because he is the same person there, and he knows what he has to do. Plus it was just one game, he could still get worse for his nation as well and I believe that he will, but not right now. We have seen him not be that before, it could happen again.

Lukaku is more of an interesting player these days. Because his usual performance and national team one aren't the same for a long time. He has been making a bigger effort when it comes to Belgium. He is even top scorer in the qualification phase now. He is one of the most valued players for the national team for sure as a result.

But Roma will expect to see this effort for themselves also in the absence of Tammy Abraham. We will see if Lukaku can have a good balance between his performance at Roma and Belgium. I think he can do this. It is just up to him to focus on his game well.
Lukaku is a wonderful player and a good striker, the problem that i see with him depends on the players that he is playing with, how they can understand his football pattern and feed him with the ball at the right time. If you look at it, last season he performed very well in Inter because i believe that the coach understands him and how to use him at the right time. I hope he plays impressively in Roma and he should be able to adapt with their football pattern fast. Look at his performance in the national team, very fantastic, this means that he  needs to be stable in one club for him to be able to bring out his best performance. Chelsea is the club fustrating Lukaku football career.

The last game was crucial for Sweden in my opinion.

The group looks like this:
Belgium - 13 points
Austria - 13 points
Sweden - 6 points

If Sweden had won, it would have been
Belgium - 13 points
Austria - 10 points
Sweden - 9 points

Sweden would then need to beat Azerbaijan and Estonia, which wouldn't be difficult, and try for a draw against Belgium at least
But now the situation has become very difficult. Austria are relying on themselves to qualify and are unlikely to lost the 6 points against the weaker teams, and could even lose against Belgium, it's sad but Sweden lost the two matches against Austria

after germany (with Hansi Flick), another nation has now sacked its national coach.
poland today dismissed portuguese Fernando Santos. after 5 qualifying games in group e, poland is in 4th place with 6 points and is in doubt about participation in euro 2024.
FS played a total of 6 games as national coach of poland (3 wins - 3 losses). who will be his successor is not yet known...

It looks really bad for Poland because they have also lost the direct comparison with Albania already and they have lost 3-1 in the first game against Czech Republic. To win the direct comparison in case they are equal in points with Czech Republic, they would also have to win their game 3-0 to officially surpass them.

The whole constellation is looking bad for them and considering how the rest of the match plan is set up, it would need a miracle for them to qualify.

Poland which was playing decent in the recent years decided to change the coach after the World Cup and got one of the worst defeats in history. A team that is ranked 23 in the world, managed to win against Saudi Arabia (ranked 54) and score a draw with Mexico (12 in the world) last year, managed to somehow lose to Moldova that was ranked 171 and Albania that's 65. So, either the coach sucks or the team has decided not to advance from the group because it looks like it continues to lose against much lower ranked opponents.

If I were to bet on this based on their performance from the World Cup, I'd say both of these matches should've been easy wins, especially with how good their goalkeeper used to be. Don't know if you remember but he even denied Messi's penalty kick.

He is a good coach overall but just wasnt able to find a way in the national team and Germany needed to sack him to try and get some good results because they will need it in the euros to try and win the title because they have a really good team and they need to go far with it.

They can fire the coach or the football association president as they like. But they should look in to the root cause. Performance from Germany is down, because newly drafted players are unable to keep up with the retiring ones. Their star payers like Thomas Müller and İlkay Gündoğan are getting old and more prone to injuries, but there is no one to replace them right now. On top of that, the quality of the local league has gone down over the years.    Bundesliga at this point can't be compared to La Liga or the English Premier League.

After the dismissal of Hansi Flick because Germany lost by Japan, and appointed Rudi Völler as interim coach but I think the results were quite good. Because at least Rudi Völler managed to make Germany beat France in a friendly match after losing by Japan. But even so, it seems that Germany also does not plan to make Rudi Völler permanent as head coach, because based on rumors that are circulating it seems that Germany plans to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as head coach. Although at the moment this is still uncertain, but I think appointing Julian Nagelsmann as Germany head coach seems to be an inappropriate choice as well.

Overall few countries are facing dilemma into their soccer system which is bringing them down, and they are not trying to understand about this all, and now we have few coaches are sacked after Euro qualifiers and friendlies as well but still problem is stands which needs to settle instead of sacking coach working of quality in academies and coaching centers can give better result.

Bundesliga is surely on decline in quality which is the biggest problem for the Germans, and they need to work on this now their mostly stars are over age and their suitable replacements are not working on the same level which is surely issue hopefully now they will turn into better way for having positive results before this event otherwise things could be more than these results.
I guess the Bayern domination is not as good as it may seem. I understand that it looks good for Bayern, but the reality is that we are talking about a situation where only team that wins something makes all other teams a lot worse. This is why it's common that when a nation gets like that, it usually isn't that good for them.

However, if we look at the French league, we see that PSG is the only team that wins something, and even with that they have managed to build a team that is good enough and I believe that we are talking about something that would be good enough and it could work well for them in the end. I know that we are talking about something that will take some time but it could happen for Germany too.

For his country Lukaku is still one of the great players and Belgium is the country that has succeeded in creating the history of Lukaku game with so many achievements even though he has not been able to win the championship trophy at least Lukaku is the key Belgian victory.
Like in yesterday match between Belgium and Estonia, they managed to win 5 - 0 and Lukaku scored 2 goals for Belgium.

It seems that Lukaku was much more fierce when he was in the Belgian national team and this has been proven by his achievements so far, being the top scorer in the qualifying round with 8 goals. As one of the top strikers, Lukaku managed to prove what the team needed. I haven't seen Lukaku this good for a long time and I can't even remember the last time he played well enough at club level. Maybe with the encouragement of confidence from the results he achieved with Belgium he can improve his performance slowly and I really appreciate it this time and hope it won't stop here.

It would definitely be very fun if you bet on both teams scoring goals and of course we don't need to worry if Italy fails to win this match. Cheesy

However, it seems that the Italian players have started to adapt a little to Spalletti's style of play so that what is targeted can be achieved. As a quite experienced coach, Spalletti is now increasingly confident in bringing the Italian squad to a better level in the Euro 2024 competition and we should look forward to other breakthroughs that Spalletti will bring in the future.

Look at the year in which Napoli won the scudetto, I wouldn't have gambled a penny on their victory, yet Spalletti succeeded in the feat, which is no small feat in my opinion.
Italy had been in decline for years, Mancini had failed to do anything. Let's see if it lasts or is just a passing thing.

I think it was a well deserved sack but it never feels good when this happens , especially with Germany who is well known for having great coaches in the last decade. Unfortunately for them , this time they have a splendid team with massive talent within but they also need a coach , a modern one , who knows how to threat this current Germany squad so maybe Julian Nagelsmann is the right choice for them.

Do you mean that Jogi Löw was a great coach? When I evaluate a coach, I usually try to think of whether a coach has achieved something and whether the achievements happened because of a golden era of players or whether it was really the coach who managed to make the players give their best. Löw was lucky with the players he had. I think any other coach could have done the same. Flick won six titles in one year with Bayern Munich. To say that he is not modern enough would be weird when he was able to win the sextuple as only the second coach after Guardiola in history.

I am just saying that this would mean Löw was more modern than him because he was coaching the team for 15 years. He should have long been sacked when they lost in the group stage at the World Cup 2018, then almost got relegated into group B in the Nations League, then followed by a 0-6 against Spain in the next Nations League season and then they got eliminated in the round of 16 against England at the UEFA Euro 2021. It's crazy that he had all these negative results and still wasn't sacked. This time they pulled the trigger quite quickly for Flick.

There are some players who play very badly at the club but are very good when they are in the national team such as Griezmann who was bad when he was at Barcelona but is still the backbone of the French national team or Maguire who has always been criticized for his performance at Manchester United but his role in the England national team is irreplaceable until now.
Likewise for Lukaku, he did have problems with performance especially at some big clubs but this does not seem to interfere in the national team and he will still be in the same position and superior to the current Belgian national team.
Especially in this case Lukaku is one of the players who brought Belgium to their golden era and of course with the quality that Lukaku has even though there are some problems at the club but it will not have an impact on the national team.

Hansi Flick is the first ever sacked coach in Germany national team history if I'm not mistaken.

It must be feeling really bad for him to be the first one. Because I don't remember Germany this much bad in the past to tell the truth. They have been one of the best teams in the world for so many years. But their performance in the recent times is just horrible. That embarrassing loss against Japan was the final straw to sack him.

Rudi Völler is caretaker manager for now. There are some candidates like Nagelsmann for the job. Tuchel was reported to be offered the job but he rejected.
Seeing how bad Germany has been since the Qatar World Cup, the German coach should have been fired and you are right, he is the first German coach to be sacked and that will definitely not be pleasant for him.
The former coach of Bayern Munich might be a good choice but coaching a club and coaching the national team of a country is very different, at least that is what several successful coaches at the club have said but are reluctant to coach the national team because the challenge is more difficult because they have to choose players and put them together only for a certain time. Of course, Germany, as one of the teams that has been quite successful in many tournaments, will always be required to perform well, especially in the European Cup which will be held in less than a year, moreover, Germany is the host for this big tournament.

The federation didn't accept the loses while Poland fight against Albania so that's why they have decide to sacked Fernando Santos and Poland current position at 4th place and they only can able to collect 6 points from 5 matches so this is difficult situations for them because most likely Poland will not qualified to Euro 2024 actually Fernando Santos is a good manager and he even successfully to gets Euro 2016 trophy and Nation League trophy on 2019 with Portugal but unfortunately he hasn't suitable to train Poland because under him Poland performance was so poor even before this loses Poland has been humiliated by other weak team Moldova and finally after 8 months train this team the federation has decide to sacked him
Even you are right about this all federations are not accepted loses, but surely they need to give time to coaches which are working and need to set things which are not easy right now even use of technology and many other aspects helping but still we are losing on quality and natural abilities of players which are main cause of consistent losing matches and having not solid strategies for coaches.

Now most chances Poland will lose their spot into next year's Euro and things could be not favorable for next coach as well hopefully they will work on their long run strategy which bring improvement in quality and performance of new generation players which will give their best and bring better results right now most chances we will have much destruction like this with mostly Euro countries are on decline in quality and performance.

When he played with Chelsea during his era of greatness Lukaku was truly like one of a number of star players who developed in the Premier League and he made Chelsea his true home leading him to victory but everything just disappeared when he suffered an injury or two and started to leave moving between teams to be loaned or even sold until in the end Lukaku had difficulty keeping up with the development of each team he followed.
It is true that changing teams with different coaches can slow down the development of a football player especially since each coach has a way of playing or a strategy that may not be easy to follow so it is natural that Lukaku is experiencing difficulties this season.

You're right though, because Germany new squad are incredible in games but they don't mean business as the former players. These new players are just in for entertainment and I see no seriousness in them, always struggling to fit in, perhaps they have big names. Germany sacked there headcoach this season, after a humiliating defeats against Japan. The board keen on an upgrade in the national team, they're yet to appoints any coach, besides they have some good coach on their rader, they will take thorough time to grab a prominent coach to manage the national team.

Let's not forget the fact that Germany is regarded as one of the favorites to win Euro Cup next year by the bookies. But their recent performance is just pathetic. And it is not just limited to the loss against Japan (they lost to Japan during the world cup as well). Look at the younger German players who are currently playing for the national team. Players like Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané can't be compared to Marcus Rashford or Kylian Mbappé. Despite playing regularly for quite sometime, they are yet to achieve notable success at international level.

Currently managers are not really given much chance to make up for their loses and a slight error could get you fired, so tp risk losing your job you have to come up with good strategies that would suit your team and develop them into brilliant players and that's what Fernando Santos failed to do at Poland, which in return has made him lose his job, I think his job was a bit easier with Portugal because they're a team with lots of quality players that could easily understand his pattern but Poland doesn't got much outstanding players and needed to be developed into better players that would understand Fernando's pattern, however losing against smaller club is a bad record and he needed to be fired despite his good coaching record because he could help Poland qualify to the Euro 2024 which is too bad for them.
