Bodo/Glimt with another big win and showing how good they are in europe,no body expected that Celtic would be eliminated by Bodo/Glimt. I think they can make a few more surprises in the next rounds. Also my team Partizan won again against Sparta Prague and are now in the next round. Hopefully we go far.

I don't know how well Slavia Prague has been since, but Fenerbahçe was eliminated despite being the team with the higher budget. They conceded three goals in both games, although they have such valuable players in defense, it is difficult to make sense of it. Slavia Prague could have scored more goals, they missed many opportunities. The European page for Fenerbahçe is closed this year.

@ morvillz7z yeah, to think I used to have Celtic (and Rangers) on my tickets every time in Europe. I gave Rangers up as soon as Gerrard left, it was always clear they were running on fumes fanned by him... but Celtic seem to be more intent on wresting away the Scotting Championship away from their Old Firm foes... And so, Bodoe/Glimt wasn't a flash in the pan after all. Least Roma can have Celtic in the same miserable company, how the mighty Europa candidates have fallen.

maybe I thought they were less observant in paying attention to thread titles and focused more on saw the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE posts, so then commented on the european league matches in this thread Grin.

The first half of the match between Randers and Leicester city has started, and now the score is still 0-1 for leicester city victory, I think the success of leicester city destroying rander 4-1 in the first leg makes today's match will be an easy match for leicester.
the European conference league is not well known, even a google search sometimes gives wrong info...

Barnes' quick goal at minute 2' made the Randers game out of control again. even so I also give a thumbs up for randers because they have quite high ball possession and made the leicester defense threatened several times.

Celtic are just being destroyed by Bodo/Glimt right now. First, Bodo/Glimt defeated Celtic by 3-1 in an away game in the first leg. This was surprising to me even though I knew their impressive performance in the group stage. I just waited for Celtic to make big difficulties for them but it was in vain. And now, Bodo/Glimt are destroying them by 2-0 and they have just scored the second goal. They sealed off everything already and I wonder how far they will be able to go like this in this tournament. No matter what, I really appreciate their effort so far.

Lazio vs Porto is currently 1-1 and Lazio through Immobile scored in the 19th minute, Immobile played very well and always had chances to score but unfortunately was always caught offside, and Porto were awarded a 31st minute penalty which was executed by Mehdi Taremi .
the game is still very long and both still have chances and time to score goals.

and Napoli vs Barcelona with a 1-1 draw from the first leg, the chances of Napoli and Barcelona are both still open to be able to secure a ticket to play in the round of 16, but Napoli benefit from playing at home and it is difficult to predict because they both have opportunity despite hoping Barcelona win.

both these matches are from Europa league, it is a different topic

Partizan is up 2:0 at half-time, with 1:0 victory from first match, we are really close to next round
Bodo is up against Celtic, so they are close to next round as well, Celtic is really trash this season

Dortmund winning massively during the weekend was awesome to watch.
I know they'll be back to play and demolish their opponents.
They kept clean sheets and Tues was on point in the game, giving three assist.

This is the thread for the Uefa Europa Conference league, not the Europa League.
why would anyone think this is a thread for the Europe League Cheesy

Leicester will surely win again easily against Randers, Leicester have won 4-1 on aggregate. The line-up for both teams has come out, although it will play at home to Randers but it's definitely not a big threat for Leicester.

I saw a lot of forum members who couldn't tell the difference between the European League and European Conference League threads, even though the two competitions were European competitions, it was clear that conference competitions were very different from European League competitions, maybe I thought they were less observant in paying attention to thread titles and focused more on saw the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE posts, so then commented on the european league matches in this thread Grin.

I think the same, besides, Porto has always stood out with respect to the strategies that they apply in different games, the case of the coach, how he leads the team is very intelligent, because he keeps his other players so that they do not suffer possible injuries, this is something that It is very used, now Porto with respect to the other teams in this case with the Italian teams they stand up very well, maybe it is the Italian style of play that is more defensive, and the Portuguese style is more given towards the counterattack, at least it seems to me that when Porto plays like that they do well.
I checked the odds for a couple of Europa League match today and it looks like Lazio are a bit ahead of Porto on the odds. Although Porto have won 1-2 at home to Lazio but somehow they are not favored to win at home, but without a doubt I think Porto will qualify for the next phase today with a win.

Meanwhile, the Napoli vs Barcelona match is a bit difficult to determine the stakes because the odds are almost the same. A draw in the first leg can be considered in the second leg to choose who will win the match. I don't think the game will end in a draw in 90 minutes and require them to go into extra time. I chose Barcelona to win at Napoli even though I know Napoli's record is much better than Barcelona's in this round.

Bodo/Glimt pulled the biggest upset in the 1st leg of the Conference League 1/16-finals beating Celtic in Scotland. I could see this being an open match in which the visitors, who need to score multiple goals, give open spaces to an already proven clinical Norwegian attack. Bodo/Glimt have scored at least one goal in each of their last 20+ home matches, in all competitions. It should be a frigid night in Norway, and with artificial turf, i'm betting on Bodo/Glimt to hold, if not improve, their two-goal lead after the first leg and move to the next round. Not crazy odds @1.65, but there's a very good chance we'll see three or more goals.

edit; Scottish bums are not good for even a goal lol, 2-0 and Bodo/Glimt advances...

It looks like some of us posted posts that don't fit the thread, this is the thread of the UEFA Europa Conference League, but they are discussing about the matches that are in the UEFA Europa League.

But apart from that, I am very interested in the match between Celtic v Bodo/Glimt because both are indeed a good team in their respective leagues. But unfortunately, Celtic's dominance in Scotland in the Premiership was broken by Rangers, even though Celtic were the title holders there for 9 consecutive seasons and unfortunately, that misfortune is likely to continue for Celtic in this tournament in the Europa Conference League. Because even though yesterday Celtic played at home, Celtic got a big enough defeat by Bodo/Glimt with a score of 3-1. This defeat will certainly be a difficult job to turn things around in the second leg later, with the team's situation being as good it is very likely that Bodo/Glimt will be able to maintain this advantage.

I think this is due to the fact that UEFA has created a very confusing structure of European competition where teams move from one tournament to another. In this state of affairs, it's easy to get confused and I think it's even possible to overlook that the team you're following has already "started" playing in a different tournament than the one they originally played in.

FC Porto used home advantage to  play with Italian team to inform other  team that they are fully prepared for this tournament to win the title with different strategies. Now that FC Porto coach has discovered some weaking point among the players and not to benched some players for first half than to use some players that are good for second half to play for their next match.
With the professional strategies FC Porto team used to defeated Italian 2:1 that made their fans to believe that FC Porto has what it takes to win this tournament title.

Also, Fenerbahçe almost doesn't chance for passing the round. I hope they can at least score some goals so we can enjoy the match.

why do you think that? yeah, they lost first match at home, but Slavia is far from secure in next round
Partizan is playing Sparta at home, with similar score (winning 0:1) in Prague, and I am not 100% sure that we will pass through, although chances are good

will be interesting in match between Vittesse and Rapid, goals should be over2.5 there, and Vittesse has good chances to pass through

Barcelona 1-1 Napoli
The result was quite difficult for Barcelona. The 2nd leg will go to Napoli. Barcelona actually performed well they performed in their style. Dominating possession of the ball. It's a shame they had to concede first. Even if I look at the stats they had a lot of kicking attempts on goal. Unfortunately they couldn't maximize the chances of winning at home.

This is the thread for the Uefa Europa Conference league, not the Europa League.

Anyway, I would say that in this competition the biggest chances right now to win it in the end might probably be for PSV Eindhoven and Leicester City. If Leicester City was stronger in the Premier League I would say they are the favorite, but since they aren't in the best shape possible I guess PSV is equally strong.

The abolition of the home and away goal rules is slightly advantageous for Barcelona because the draw against Napoli which took place at Camp Nou, at least Napoli must be able to win from Barcelona in the 2nd leg if they want to qualify for the next round. With the abolition of the home and away goals rule if both teams draw 0-0 in the 2nd leg, the match will continue in extra time and a penalty shoot-out if the score is still equal for both teams. However, the match in the 2nd leg was very tense and Napoli, who played as home, was far more superior than Barcelona.

This is a difficult result for Barcelona, but still manageable because they have quality and skill for changing things in their own way against any team.

As of now, Napoli is good side, but their performance is unpredictable, and they are facing some tough challenge for this year's title race even they were in full command from start till middle of this season but suddenly with few injuries and poor performance now they are third, and they need more intention in local league instead of this but with result of first league match both teams are in good chance for qualifying for next round even mostly feeling Napoli is favourite with first league advantage, but they need some very good performance at home and Barcelona is not easy side.
