This is one of the things that made Liverpool to lose woefully yesterday they already made conclusion that they are going to win because the book markers picked them to win and since they believed that they have a better squad than Atalanta and their performance generally is much better than their opponents they didn't believe the game could turn against them but at the end they were allowed by Atalanta to have more control of the ball, posses the ball more but Atalanta made it difficult for them to penetrate their goal post from the starting of the game until the full time.

No I don't think Liverpool didn't take the Europa league seriously because they don't have any trophy at hand now winning the Europa league will be one of the best thing that will happen to them this season because they are not sure of winning the league since they have strong matches left and with the way the Arsenal team is going, they may end up winning the league that is the more reason Liverpool needs to do everything to ensure trhey get back to the game in the second leg in Italy.

Most people underestimate Atalanta against Liverpool, even Jurgen Klopp himself allegedly underestimated Atalanta from his decision to choose the main line-up in the first half. Maybe Klopp thought that Atalanta would not play that well, but everything he thought was ultimately wrong after Atalanta won 0-1 in the first half. Klopp clearly tried to fix everything in the second half, but his plan failed because Atalanta actually scored 2 additional goals for a score of 0-3.

I agree that this is an embarrassing and disappointing result for many parties, but this is a risk that has actually been said on many occasions where it is not possible for a team to win even though they are the favorites to win. Klopp will clearly try to come back in the second leg, but that is a super difficult mission.

Yes, As Roma succeeded in answering some people's doubts about them, because before this match was held there were many narratives that doubted them. In fact, this is a normal thing because Ac Milan itself is better on paper than AS Roma, but we can see that superiority on paper does not guarantee that they can win the game.
Their task in the second leg will be easier, because they only need to achieve a draw to ensure they are in the semifinals. However, the problem is that AC Milan will also play all out to equalize first before they turn things around. I am also sure that AC Milan's motivation will be even greater to avenge them in the first leg.
De Rossi must be able to anticipate this, and they can implement a tighter strategy, especially in midfield. If they manage to control the midfield, I'm sure they will be able to withstand every attack from Ac Milan. We'll see what will happen in the second leg, whether AS Roma will be successful or vice versa.

I really liked what I saw from Leverkusen there. They played a really great football and deserved to win by even a bigger goal difference. West Ham couldn't find a way out and I don't think they can do much against a this determined team in the second leg either.

The biggest shock of the night was the score of the Liverpool - Atalanta game of course. Liverpool tried so hard but couldn't score a single goal. A 3-0 loss is really difficult to come back from - especially while Liverpool are mainly focused on the Premier League championship. 


Roma are just different since De Rossi's arrival. This is an undeniable fact. They are rising in the Serie A and we see his impact on the Europa League performance also. Roma lost to Milan this season while they were in Mourinho's control. But now they look stronger. It was really worth giving Roma a shot to eliminate Milan and they are doing good about it now. 

The only goal of the game came early on in the first half as Gianluca Mancini's header sealed a 1-0 win for Roma over AC Milan in the Europa League quarter-final first leg at the San Siro. AC Milan’s winning run came to as Roma victory in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final.

Roma are bidding to reach a third successive European final. Roma won the 2021-22 Europa Conference League and lost last year's Europa League final to Sevilla.

Liverpool was expected to win the game just because of how solid their squad is this season when I see top teams in europa league I don't really expect much from them because most times big teams like Liverpool don't take the Europa League as their major target. I think last season when arsenal was in the Europa League many thought arsenal will be the team to win the league but along the line they started performing bad. Liverpool is good they may likely start playing poor I europa league because the europa league is not their main target, it is always like that in europa league. I won't be surprised if any of the strong teams fails not winning the league title this season.

Yes indeed, Atalanta victory with a big score like that is a result that is certainly surprising and maybe, if Atalanta only won with a thin score like for example 0-1 or only has a gap of 1 goal, then it might still be reasonable result. But yes, the reality is that Liverpool were completely humiliated at home although indeed, as a big team like Liverpool there will probably always be a chance to be able to rise in the second leg later. But still, because in the second leg Liverpool played away against Atalanta, and basically Atalanta also cannot be underestimated at all, then I think it will still be difficult for Liverpool to be able to turn things around. But maybe, Liverpool will target to win with a score of 3-0 also in normal time 90 in the second leg later, until finally the match is determined on penalties, at least such a scenario is still possible.

Well, the truth is, this is something that surprised me a lot, the one I saw who did everything to be able to recover the game was Luis Diaz, I don't know, I know they wanted everything but the truth is I saw Luis Díaz with a lot of heart, for me the mistake It was all about the goalkeeper, a goalkeeper cannot make that mistake, so in view of these things they have it very clear for the next game , I think Klopp right now has to restructure the strategies they have for the Europa League, it would be very sad if they have left this competition in that way, then in the face of all these things it can be said that Liverpool has to give everything, they have no choice. Liverpool can at very least have bigger chance to score rather than losing with zero score like that. Starting salah from the bench is the biggest mistake made by klopp in this game. Salah was still playing as usual and he has no problem with his performance after he fully recovered from his injury.
Im saying this is klopp's mistake since he was thinking if liverpool could win against atalanta easily. Another stupid mistake made by liverpool's coach to benched its best players rather than use all of them since the first half. Liverpool can now focus on the league only.

There's no guarantee giving him more time will help him to return on his best performance. Things are always moving forward and liverpool was too dependent on him. van dijk is also performing so badly in that match.
He was not even pressuring atlanta's attacker, but he was always gong to the bottom.

A lot of gamblers have lost money in this match. And we all thought Liverpool would win the match. First of all Liverpool players were in great form. Secondly it was Liverpool's home match. So probably no one can imagine that the Liverpool team will be defeated in this match, even with such a big margin of 3-0. I haven't seen any gamblers around me who bet on Atalanta winning this match. Everyone was betting on Liverpool's victory. Very few gamblers bet on the draw.

Liverpool lost this match because of bad defense. I don't know why Liverpool's defenders suddenly performed so poorly in this match. Liverpool's defense was strong enough. However, they performed poorly against Atalanta in this match.

If the margin of defeat was less I would say Liverpool still have a chance of qualifying for the next round. But after a 3-0 home defeat, a 4-0 away win for Liverpool is highly unlikely.

Yeah right, I think almost all of us didn't expect Liverpool to be beaten at home but that's the fact of the matter and most gamblers lose their bets, Liverpool is really in a difficult situation because they have to win with a difference of 3-4 goals in the second leg while Liverpool will play away, it is clear that Liverpool need a miracle to change it. At first I was very confident that Liverpool would win easily, I even bet in the first half lol.  Today's match proved that anything can happen in football it can even outwit everyone's predictions.

I think Atalanta scoring that much was the unexpected part of the game but we also need to realize that I think it's quite obvious that Liverpool can't keep trusting Nunez like this. This team is lacking attacking players like crazy, sure Salah is great but that's about it, they really need to get a real striker that would be really good. Like if Aatalantas striker was at Liverpool and if Nunez was at Atalanta, I guarantee you that Liverpool would have won 3-0 instead.

The problem is that Liverpool had some defensive mistakes as well, but I am guessing that was mainly because they were trying to find score, which meant risking the defense and that is why the results looked like this. I still think they can get a comeback anyway.

Atalanta have been a loose cannon for quite a few years now, alternating amazing results with very poor ones. Obviously no one would have ever expected such a sweeping result at Hanfield from Atalanta, Liverpool are one of the strongest European teams and no one would have ever bet on a defeat especially when they play in their own stadium. For my part Gasperini made a historic miracle with this victory, I only hope that in the return match the result will not be overturned

Leverkusen was able to prove it in this first leg by successfully beating West Ham with a score of 2-0. Their game was also very good, they controlled the game and they didn't give West Ham a chance in this match. This victory makes it easier for them in the second leg, because they only need a draw, or if they lose as long as it doesn't go by more than 1 goal then they will definitely be in the semifinals.

In fact, what was surprising was when we saw Livrpool who had to lose badly to their guests Atalanta. How could they have lost so badly like that, because at the start they were big favorites to win this match, but instead they had to swallow the bitter pill because they lost in front of their own supporters. In the second leg they will have a difficult job, because they have to catch an aggregate of 3 goals first before turning things around. 3 goals is a number that is not easy for them to achieve.

I don't think so. I would say Liverpool players would have been confident if Salah was in the squad. Even if Salah didn't play well, we could have seen more organized gameplay from Liverpool.

Salah is a very experienced player. So having such experienced players in the squad naturally gives the young players confidence. On the other hand, the opponent would have at least two defenders to block Salah. So Liverpool's attacking players would have scored opportunities. It would also have been a bit difficult for Atalanta's players to counter-attack.

However, I think the main reason for Liverpool's defeat in this match is their match strategy. Atalanta have relatively few attacks. But each of their attacks was very organized and planned. There is no doubt that Atalanta performed well in this match.

That's true, indeed with that defeat I think Liverpool may have given up hope, because their chances of qualifying for the semifinals are not great. Even though they may still be able to pursue the opportunities that still exist, it's true what you said, it will be difficult for them. because with the next match coming up, they will face teams whose performance is quite good. they have to be able to produce consecutive wins to be able to improve their points but that will be very difficult.

especially in the second leg when they face Atalanta again, I'm afraid their mentality will no longer be good, with that of course they will play with a lack of confidence. but even so, it is impossible for them to give up, of course they will do their best to improve things. This is an embarrassing moment for Liverpool to be defeated in their home, at early stages i thought they will be a come back for Liverpool but unfortunately it didn't happened and Atalanta end the match with 3-0, Liverpool that people were having hope for to lift up the trophy are now facing defeat in their home for the first leg while the second leg will be away and my question is that can they bounce back to score three goals to nothing? From the beginning when i so there previous game before this match i thought it going to be in favour of Liverpool because Atalanta lost their last to game and both are away that is the reason i have much confidence in Liverpool since Atalanta performances are low in away game but the reverse is the case.

Well all they have built in the season isn't falling apart just yet but then they still have a chance to fix everything if they can quickly snap out of the mood that this losses has brought them and begin to get on with making good progress into improving for the games ahead so they will be able to still maintain good form and position enough for a chance to lifting one of the trophies before the end of the season.

Normally football isn't an easy game and has never promised to be because it's actually coming with a whole lot of strength and passion with emotions which also builds up for uncertainties due to the various technicalities involved, in as much as sometimes we may want to see that some of the teams are appearing superior to some, it still not a guarantee that they are going to easily win such a team without out putting in the required efforts, even when such efforts are been put in, you still find out that they sometimes don't get to achieve the kind of victory they aught to achieve because of the uncertainties that may arise in cause of the game.

The case of Liverpool and Atlanta as seen in yesterday's game, is a typical example that the superiority of a team over the other isn't enough to be sure they were going to beat the other team always, sometimes these factors may just be things that comes up while they are on the pitch or the other team just have hard luck and probably some technical hitches around them may all contribute to them loosing.

It is obvious that after 0-3 at home, the team has practically no chance of advancing to the next round on aggregate. At the moment, the teams' chances of reaching the semi-finals are assessed as follows:

Atalanta - 1.14
Liverpool - 5.80

1.14 doesn’t look very interesting, but essentially +14% is easy money. I don’t see the option that Liverpool will die in this game given the fact that they have chances in the main tournament - the Premier League. And Atalanta, having played the first game without substitutions (one in the 89th minute can’t be counted), will most likely rest (playing with the second team) in the game with Verona and will be in top shape again in the return match.
