This was definitely one of the most stressful games I have seen in a long long time. There has been over 15 penalty shots, and it ended with 13-12 result as well, that is just insane when you think about it, when was the last time you have seen 15+ penalties? I mean most often it ends within the first five usually but even if not, that goes to like maybe 7 or 8 at most and nothing more. Whereas we are looking at the current situation and can say that this was the highest I watched live as far as I can remember.

Ajax finally got it though, they really needed this win because it looks like they are still struggling to build that squad back up, they sold bunch of great players but then never rebuild it properly and this season might help them if they do fine here.
34 penalties? That is a marathon, not a game! Both sides shown amazing mental toughness, and Ajax finally win. However, since they lost some important players, Ajax has changed. You cannot simply sell your stars and hope to keep winning. They must quickly acquire some really substantial talent in there.

Still, this victory might mark a change. Its a reminder that they still have the heart of a champion, so boosting confidence. They cannot, however, become lazy. Though in soccer anything can happen, Jagiellonia would appear like an easy win. Ajax must make every game a chance for rehabilitation and rediscovery of rhythm. They must tighten their defense and perhaps reconsider their entire approach. They will burn out before the season ever begins if they continue allowing games to go to penalties.

Ajax was very lucky to have won the game on penalties after conceding a late goal that would have cost them their chances of qualifying, perhaps if there was much time to play before the extra time then panathinaikos would have sealed the win with another goal, it's seems to me that ajax are struggling at the moment and could not play with much intensity as a result could not create much goal scoring chances, it even seemed as if they wanted to settle for a barren draw because they already have an away goal advantage and wanted to settle for a draw.

Taking a whole 90mins game to decide who qualifies between Ajax and Panathinaikos shows how poor the game of Ajax is now. They are just struggling and cannot defeat a team like this, this is the first time I’m hearing of such a team. The penalty shootout indeed saved them  and I have never seen a penalty this long before in a very long time now. All team players in the field had to take the penalty before a winner surfaced. I will still congratulate Ajax on their victory and that they should work to improve their performance because the main competition would not be any easy for them.

It seems like you don't like Erik Ten Hag's performance anymore, the season hasn't started yet and you're already criticizing him very harshly. Indeed, last season Man United's performance was bad because many defenders were injured, maybe you need to look again at why Erik Ten Hag's strategy didn't go according to plan last season.

In my opinion, you should give him at least one more season to prove his hard work in improving Man United's performance before criticizing him. Because in my opinion, in two seasons he managed to win two trophies in three finals, not a bad record. That is a clear progress that even the blind and deaf can see and hear, especially considering the condition of the team before his arrival.

In addition, you should also give him a chance in the Europa League (although not the Champions League) but it's still cool. I think Erik Ten Hag can take Man United further in the Europa League this season after seeing the pre-season and the match against Man City in the community shield.
How do think a manager who's spent two seasons already in big club like Manchester United still needs more time before he can prove himself? Why do you think it's too early to criticize Erik ten Hag when we've seen what's he's been doing at Manchester United in the last two seasons. I'm not a fan of the club but even from a neutral point of view, you should agree to the fact that the Dutchman have underperformed in his first two seasons and doesn't even deserve the contract extension he recently got.
This evening, Manchester United played their first league game of the season and from the performance of the team, there's nothing to show that ten Hag have worked on the team to improve. They had to rely on an 87th minute goal from a substitute to get all three points. Is that how he'll manage to win the UEFA Europa League trophy this season?

A deserving narrow escape victory for Ajax it was, it's been pretty a long while since I last Saw a game with such amount of penalty shootout to get them to be able to decide who the winner was going to be.. before the game commenced, I had believed so much in Ajax to win at the end of the first 90 minutes but how it extended this long got me wondering but at the end of the day, most importantly they win and got qualified which was basically all they needed at the end of the game.

That's definitely true, it took about 25 minutes or so from start to finish just the penalties and I do not remember anyone that took this long neither, I mean this was definitely one of the rarest games we have seen, and with everything considered it took nearly 2.5 hours and with extra time and half time etc etc, we are talking about nearly a three hour long game, that makes no sense to me at all.

I believe that we are going to probably not see a game like this for a long time. Another thing to consider is how Ajax looked, I do not think that this is good enough for them at all and being here doesn't change anything, they could be in Europa group stages and it still wouldn't be enough.

It's clear that they are just an ordinary team now and that's definitely terrible for them, if they want to be the strongest Eredevise team like they used to be, they need to find some talented players like they used to do, this current squad is not even nearly enough for them.

Ten Hag is  a dumb. Sure, there were glimpses of hope, but let's be real, it's been a downhill slide. His tactics sucks Last season was a disaster. It wasn't just the losses, it was the way they lost. No heart, no fight, no clue.  New signings? Okay, fine, but that doesn't fix the gaping holes in this team. The defense is extremely bad, the attack's is predictable and the whole squad looks like they met five minutes before kickoff

Ten Hag? Worst coach in the universe? Damn right. This isn't hyperbole, it's cold, hard truth. He's got the tactical acumen of a goldfish, and his man-management skills are nonexistent. Unless Ten Hag pulls a rabbit out of his hat – and let's be honest, that hat's empty – this season's gonna be another train wreck. Europa League? Forget it. Premier League? Laughable. This isn't about new players, it's about a new philosophy, a new identity. And Ten Hag? He's the last guy to deliver that

Criticism of ten Hag is a very natural thing considering what they experienced last season, even their achievement in winning the FA trophy is still considered not enough to cover the bad record of most defeats in a season that they got last season, Manchester United now has give ten hag the confidence to continue his performance as Manchester United coach next season, but I think this will not restore the fans trust in Ten Hag so far, what you say is true if last season Manchester United experienced a slump due to player injuries, but this actually shows the poor training pattern from Manchester United did at that time so made their players prone to injury, even though if we look at last seaso,  their didn't have a busy schedule at all because they only played in the EPL and FA.

This season will be proof for Ten Hag of the trust placed in him by Manchester United, but I hope that if he again fails to meet these expectations in europa league or EPL, there should be no further evaluation carried out by management on Ten Hag other than immediately firing him from the coaching chair.

Yeah, ajax are indeed struggling they have fallen way off from their usual self and it was like even a surprise to me seeing them win and getting to this point because the ajax of last season was so messed up that they couldn't even play good football because almost their good players were sold off. For the penalty shoot out well like you said it's been really long since I get to witness anything of such and unlike you that it stress for me it was really entertaining although I won't say the same for any ajax fan.

Exactly! It must be one of the longest penalty shootouts duration in football.  Grin  34 penalties in total, just wow! I thought for once that it was never going to end. It was the most competitive matchup in qualification phase.

Ajax just had too much difficulty in eliminating Panathinaikos. They are still not ready for the new season at all. They are lucky about one thing though. Their next opponent in playoff round is going to be Jagiellonia which is easier to eliminate on paper.

This is going to be the last round before league phase at the same time. I assume Ajax would progress further but a big success to be achieved by them later on? I don't think so unless they improve their game way more.  Sad
It seems impossible to see something rare and maybe this will be the best penalty shootout of all time in a qualifier. Who would have thought that neither Ajax nor Panathinaikos would give in and produce endless penalty kicks. Ajax seems to know that Panathinaikos is the best opponent for him and of course this will be an extraordinary record.

If I'm not mistaken, the 40-year-old Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj became the hero in this match because he managed to make 5 saves that saved Ajax from defeat. With such an old age, it's no wonder that his experience is also very much, especially for an important match like this.

The next match is not a problem for Ajax but of course they are quite tired because they went through a difficult phase against Panathinaikos and before talking further they have to restore their strength. There is no success that can be achieved if you are not consistent and here Ajax must change their game with a definite victory without having to go through a difficult round like what happened just now.

Ten Hag has been busy this summer, attracting fresh talent.s That's wonderful; the group needs a change of direction. But what strategies Ten Hag used? Their legitimacy is dubious at best. The man has much to learn. Europa League is not a sprint; it is a grind. United could surprise a few people, though, with the fresh additions and the knowledge gained from last season. Recall that football is performed on a pitch rather than on paper. One can never rule out anything. Ten Hag has to elevate his game. Should he fail, United supporters will have yet another protracted season

If Ten Haag must succeed this season, he should restrategize and not use same coaching format as he did last season because this season will be more challenging than last season. Since the club has added new talents to the United squad, a lot is expected of them because the club and the fans cannot settle for less this season as there are a lot of expectations from the players and the head coach, they need to work together so they can get good results this season. Ten Haag have been given another season to make things right for United so it's time for him to get busy and make good use of this privilege accorded to him by the club. The Europa league will be very competitive this season, so every club will really be active to make their fans happy. It's time for the United club to wake up from their slumber, they have got enough rest over the years they need to get back to their feet and do things differently this season to the success of the team.
When it comes to Manchester united what one can only do is to be optimistic about their performance because we all know how they have been struggling when it comes to clean and consistent play, for their coach ten hag I really don't know the statics he will devised into because I believe the one he used is his one playing pattern and it didn't just work well with the team although this time around he has recruited some new players and new forces so maybe that would be an edge for him to succeed this season.

Actually in this match Ajax has great potential to win the match without penalty shootout and of course everyone is quite happy with the game of both of them which is very fierce until the second half is almost over.
Leaving only few minutes for Ajax to win with an aggregate advantage of 1 point but in the end Panathinaikos managed to score goal to equalize the aggregate score to 1 - 1 and ended with penalty shootout as the determinant of who deserves to survive in this competition.
In the penalty shootout, both team really showed very good performance until they had to repeat and reached 13 points for Ajax advantage over Panathinaikos.

Failure in this second leg match also made me lose my bet, they could not get an absolute victory in this match, even for some of the opportunities that existed failed to become goal.

Previously Ajax won 0-1 in the first leg and in the second leg they failed to maintain the victory in the match because Panathinaikos managed to score a goal and make the aggregate 1-1.
The match presented an exciting game and even the two teams continued to take turns to they carried out attacks but instead, both of them also had solid defenses in this match,  Ajax, who played at home, was able to dominate the match, but Panathinaikos who came to win also didn't want to be embarrassed again by ajax.

Apart from the very exciting match, we also saw a new record created in the match, both teams had to determine the winner after Tete goal in the 89th minute became the only goal scored in match both in normal time and extra time, the tight game between the two teams did not only occur in the game alone, however, both teams took 25 minutes to take the penalty kicks with 17 chances, but Ajax was quite lucky in that match after having Remko Pasveer who was able to thwart five penalties and make Ajax win 13-12 over Panathinaikos.

It is still not certain that the new players that Ten Hag has successfully recruited can bring great success to the Manchester United team this season. Because a team like Manchester United still really needs a better playing pattern in order to get better statistics than last season, especially in their own domestic league and also in the Europa League this season which also has a fairly fierce competitive tension until the end. I actually don't doubt the quality of the players that Manchester United currently have, but they also still need newer, better ways from their own coach for now.
Manchester United already have some quality players in their squad, Ten Hag must be able to manage the team to perform better than last season. Manchester United really needs to improve their performance this season because they have a tight schedule, the increasingly fierce competition tension means Manchester United must always perform optimally if they want to finish in the European zone. They also have a schedule in the Europa League which makes Ten Hag have to be able to share focus in two different competitions, Teams from different Leagues will try to be the best, Ten Hag has to be more serious in developing the team so that they can continue to dominate in every match.

I honestly don't trust Ten Hag. In the last two seasons we have not seen a better performance than Manchester United. The players of Manchester United are performing very irregularly. The defense of this team is weak, the performance of the attacking players is erratic, and the bonding between the players is also weak. It is not possible for any team to perform well consistently if there are so many problems within the squad.

Ten Hag had ample time and opportunity to strengthen his squad. But he failed. I also don't think Manchester United will dominate the Europe League with Ten Hag next season. Manchester United won't be able to win the Europa League without strong bonding between the players and good match strategy.

The results of the Lincoln Rid Imps vs Dinamo Minsk and Rapid Vienna vs Trabzonspor matches were in line with my predictions, choosing 2 matches from many matches increases the chances of winning because the more clubs are included in the parlay bet, the more difficult it is to win.

Congratulations to the clubs that qualified for the Europa League play-off round for Petrocub, Rigas, Rapid Vienna, Dinamo Minsk, Viktoria, Elfsborg, Cercle Brugge, Ajax, Lugano, M.Tel Aviv, Braga, Borac, and Celje the next challenge will be even harder difficult Ajax was almost eliminated in this round when they played against Panathinaikos fortunately they won in the penalty shootout, in the playoff round later they will face Jagiellonia Bialystok the club that was eliminated in the Champions League qualifying round I think it will be even more difficult for Ajax to move forward.

The best chance available for Man United is to win the Europa League trophy, which sounds more realistic because the Premier League is more competitive. After polishing the squad depth by recruiting several new players, Man United should be able to perform better than last season, and restart their journey gradually towards the glory era. Ten Hag must indeed change his approach and strategy, to boost the team performance to be more consistent, and minimize the potential for conflict within the team. In addition, Ten Hag must be fair to his players, accommodating playing minutes according to the performance shown.

The management and club officials still have faith in Ten Hag, after a long evaluation Ten Hag even got a new contract extension, it is only right that Ten Hag can repay that trust by presenting a trophy. Fans will be very happy if Ten Hag is able to lead The Red Devils to success in the Europa League and Premier League, so that they can return to the Champions League later. We know it will not be easy, because every team also has the ambition to achieve the same thing. I think if the Man United squad avoids the injury storm like last season, Ten Hag has a chance to present the Europa League trophy next season.
I hope the decision to keep Ten Hag is the right one. For me it's surprising that he has so many opportunities in a team as prominent as MU, where they haven't managed to get any good places, neither in the PL nor much less in the UCL or the Europa League ,In this case, as a manager or Owner of the club, I would think very highly of it. But if he changes his strategy, his way of doing things, or how he can make a complete start, well, that would be another time, But if he continues with the same formation, they won't do Anything.
