The last round before league phase is going to start tomorrow with the first leg games. I have prepared a betslip like this:

I believe Beşiktaş aren't going to lose in this game. I can't be sure about them to win though. They are actually playing great in their domestic league now. But when it comes to European tournament, Turkish teams can be unpredictable. I know Ajax haven't started well. But I think Jagiellonia is an easier opponent than Panathinaikos. This is why I believe Ajax will win in both legs.  Smiley

Lastly I see Molde as an absolute favourite. I don't think Elfsborg can do much away. Molde would play for finishing the job early.

Inasmuch as I don't rate Erik ten Hag among the best managers in English Premier League, I wouldn't not agree to your opinion that he's the worst manager in the universe. That's exaggeration at it's peak and you know that. We saw how Dutch club Ajax was performing under Erik ten Hag and for him to also manage to win two trophies in two seasons for Manchester United makes your description of him absolutely unfair. I'm not satisfied with his performance with Manchester United because considering the quality of players at his disposal, I expect much better than I've seen from him. He's a good manager for average European clubs but not for a big club like Manchester United.
[/quote]
Worst coach in the universe might be a bit much and sorry if anyone feels insulted about it. But Erik ten Hag? He's definitely in the running for worst in the Premier League. Sure, he snagged a trophy. But that was more about luck than skill. And let's not forget the absolute thrashings they've taken. Man City made United look like a bunch of amateurs

Yeah, he had some success in Ajax. But that's Eredivisie, not the Premier League. New season, new signings? Doesn't matter. Ten Hag's tactics are outdated. This "quick one-two-touch" stuff? It's not 1990 anymore.

Patience? Development? That's a load of crap. This is Manchester United, not some Sunday league team. We need results now, not in five years

This has always being my point that Manchester united is a big club and needs to good and professional coach to handle the coaching job and not just an average coach like Ten Hag who gets confused  in the middle of tight matches and make wrong decisions. He is a good coach but not a professional because if he is not, he would not be able to win those two trophies which he won or  I say he is a lucky coach?.

I am expecting a better performance and outcome at the end of the season because the club has given him all he needs to finish on top four, it is left for him to prove that he is not just an average coach but knows what he is doing and how to improve the team's performance in order for them to win trophies.
Your point is valid, but now we have to understand Eric Ten Hag is having two years experience here, and he is now doing decent job which is allowing him to have improved performance from the team in this current season even their start is not ideal but still things are looking much better mostly peoples are having no faith into this team due to their unpredictable nature, but we can give them some advantage, and they will be surely given their best with having good spot at the end is going to be good for them as well.

Last season they were having worst end with many bad records were also broken, but now things are completely different and players also having good development now in second game we will have better view o their future because now things are asking for change, and they have to go with stronger mindset otherwise we can have another average season, and they could be having things completely out of their control.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills

I agree that they were decent, but remember that we have seen Liverpool lose to Atalanta 3-0 when they were the leaders in the league, that should tell you how hard these competitions are. Of course they dropped to third place later on but that doesn't change the fact that we had them at the top during the time of the loss, a team leading premier league would be expected to beat most teams in the world, including UCL teams too, maybe not Real Madrid, but there aren't that many teams leader of premier league could lose to, and yet they lost to Atalanta.

So saying that United is good right now is true but also they could lose is once again true as well. Just because they look good, doesn't mean that they are going to win it, so much so that even if they end up being somehow incredible and win the premier league and shock the whole world, that still doesn't mean that they will win this one too. You have to play game by game to see how it will end up.
Liverpool's defeat in the Europa League against Atalanta last season was quite surprising, not only that because they also lost with a fairly big score at that time. So just like the others, the Europa League is also quite difficult to predict.

Talking about Manchester United, actually every season the squad they have never lacks good players, but for some reason the players can't show their best abilities.

I think this has something to do with the strategy that is applied, maybe it's not suitable for the Manchester United players so they can't show their best performance.

There are definitely flaws in their plans, Manchester United's defense is a little weak but those of us who understand football fairly well must say their midfield and attacking line-up is very strong yet they cannot do well with this team.

It is quite likely for us to see Manchester United defense getting better. Have you heard of the most recent transfers? They have signed Mazraoui and de Ligt. They are aiming to sign a defensive midfielder also.

These are good steps to take to fix defensive problems at a big rate. Europa League winner odds aren't determined yet. But I expect Manchester United to be one of the biggest favourites of course.  Smiley

It isn't unrealistic I think. It is all up to having a working system after making the right transfers. I hope ten Hag won't fail about that this time.
Manchester United have finally paid attention to their defense they have bought players but if they add one more experienced defender to their club I think their defense will be much stronger. All the money to spend now is to strengthen their defense line-up. Manchester United is a traditional club but in the last few seasons they have almost lost their tradition as they have not had good achievements in these last seasons. If good quality defenders are recruited to the club and if recruiting good quality defenders improves the club's performance then they should focus on buying more defenders very soon. They have the Europa League tournament ahead of them as well as the challenge of qualifying for the Champions League next season where they must perform well to meet these challenges well.

for me personally, Manchester United can not be said to be ideal. moreover, they have only played one match. but considering when they played their first match against Fulham, the performance of the team coached by Erik Ten Hag was quite good. especially, their defense line. although some players have not been able to be optimal, but their gameplay is very clear. besides, United also now has an alternative striker to replace Hojlund who was injured. talking about Erik Ten Hag, clearly we are not Manchester United supporters and admirers of Erik Ten Hag. however, this Dutch coach has a clear vision and mission. unfortunately, they experienced a series of obstacles that made the team's performance last season. not entirely Ten Hag who was at fault, in fact the United players performed poorly even though they had been given many opportunities. the factor of injured players, added to their poor performance. this season, some of the players they brought in were the right steps. except, Leny Yoro, I do not know the track record of this player. in fact, Ten Hag adopted the philosophy of modern football, a fast one-two-touch game. however, what he wanted to implement has not gone well. do united have a chance in this competition, if they can play consistently and improve more like in their first match. yes they have a chance for that, regardless of what they target in the premier league.

Ten Hag? Worst coach in the universe? Damn right. This isn't hyperbole, it's cold, hard truth. He's got the tactical acumen of a goldfish, and his man-management skills are nonexistent. Unless Ten Hag pulls a rabbit out of his hat – and let's be honest, that hat's empty – this season's gonna be another train wreck. Europa League? Forget it. Premier League? Laughable. This isn't about new players, it's about a new philosophy, a new identity. And Ten Hag? He's the last guy to deliver that

Although I also don't think Erik ten Hag is an impressive great coach, but I also can't say Erik ten Hag is completely bad. Because after all, even though Erik ten Hag is seen as bad by you, but the fact is that Erik ten Hag still managed to make Manchester United get a trophy last season. Also, the opponent Manchester United faced was also not easy, because Manchester United also managed to beat Manchester City. Thus, at least there is still a good side managed to Erik ten Hag for Manchester United and not bad at all.

Indeed, maybe you are so disappointed or maybe you basically hate Manchester United or hate Erik ten Hag that you don't recognize the success side that Erik ten Hag has for Manchester United. After all, the Europa League hasn't started yet and neither has the Premier League which is just starting and thus, we can't judge Manchester United and Erik ten Hag badly because after all, there are still many opportunities that can be maximized during the course of this season.

It's going to be a really impressive one if Manchester United really get their defense fixed because it's been one of their major points of weakness last season, they had one of the poor defense last season and if they should continue with same they are likely not going to do any better, nevertheless Maguire has been fairly good recently and adding som kind of help around his efforts would be a very effective and productive approach to getting the defense fixed for Manchester United, going by all this developments, hopefully they get much better productively this season than they did last season.
Manchester United have made many changes to their defense line in several tranfers market, but to see whether these are good or bad changes of course we should see later, in this season transfer market Manchester United has brought in many defensive players and this should be cover their weaknesses last season and made them better this season, but to be honest, at the moment I'm not sure if this recruitment will have a positive impact considering what they also did in the transfer market last season because also they brought in a lot of great defenders like Varane and Martinez, but In fact, this did not have a good impact because of the poor game scheme and strategy of Ten Hag so far, in my opinion, apart from defense which was Manchester United weakness last season, the poor strategy and game scheme implemented by Ten Hag was also their main problem.

Now we will enter the play-off round after completing the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League this season. There will be 12 matches that will determine whether they will be in the Europa League or not. As usual there will be 2 legs of the match played, which means that each club must focus on each match played so that they can be in the Europa League.

However, it is still confusing, because the clubs that have confirmed themselves to be in the Europa League are 17, while this season there will be 36 clubs competing there. If you look at the matches in this play-off round, there will be an additional 12 clubs playing in the Europa League. That means there are still 7 clubs missing. Will the 12 clubs that lost in this play-off round compete again to compete for the 7 places available? And after that from the 6 clubs that lost in the 6 matches will there be another match to compete for the 1 remaining place?

Yes indeed, Manchester United managed to bring in Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui and both also from Bayern Munich and also, in their first match in the Premier League yesterday also the two players were played and Manchester United also managed to win there. In addition, that Manchester United also still has Leny Yoro who is also a defender but unfortunately, Leny Yoro suffered an injury he suffered during the pre-season match.

With these players, then of course I also believe that Manchester United's defense will be better in this season. Thus also, Manchester United have players who have good quality for the main players and reserve players. So yes, it is hoped that Manchester United can maintain a good performance also with such players, will make the rotation of players carried out will also be able to provide good results for the team.

Manchester United squad has lots of work remaining to get back to their old glory but I think this season they have taken the first step. They have solidified their defense which is a good thing but I think the lackings remains in the attacking part. I was surprised to see Bruno Fernandes playing the striker role. Zirkzee was substituted into the game too late. If he had subbed in the game earlier, he could have made some changes in the scoreline, meaning he could have scored more goals. The addition of Zirkzee into the squad has been a very good decision and as we can see it has worked out so far. A little worried about Antony though, because he was bought at such a big price and everyone expected him to do well but so far he has been a big flop.

Addition of De Ligt and Mazroui is I think one of the best decisions Manchester United has taken in the recent few years.

I think Manchester united has more problem than just their defense because first of all when a team is not consistent with playing good football or a fixed system or pattern it becomes a problem for them. Manchester united has always been a team that fluctuate partaking their gameplay sometimes they do excellently in one game and the next game Eric ten hag gets to make one big change which affects the team so bad.

It seems like they will be better this season than last year. Their defensive line has been reinforced with strong players. Manchester United is a team full of success in the past and they are used to success. They want to be successful in the Europa League this year and lift the cup. In my opinion, Manchester United is the biggest candidate for this cup. I think they will be successful in the English Premier League as well. This year could be their year. They will most likely be in the Champions League next year. If Maguire and Yoro get along well, they will play comfortably until the end of the season and concede few goals.

He's the last guy to deliver that
I know Erick Ten Hag has not been really fantastic at Manchester United but the description of him you just gave if merely exaggerations, he's not as terrible as you just described him to be, even with the poor performance he's got something to show for in the past two seasons at Manchester United, remember he didn't meet the team any better tho I'm not making excuses for his poor performance which is believed that he was supposed to do better for Manchester United having stayed this long already. He's not as pathetic as such that will be likend to the worse coach in the universe, you sound like you have got some personal resentments around him, he's actually taking too long to produce the kind of results desired of him by the fans but then he can't be seen as this terrible just yet.
Only thing I have ever heard about Ten Hag greatness that is recognized during his time coaching Manchester United is fairly high win ratio, some people say that Ten Hag is the Manchester United coach who can have the highest win ratio compared to previous coaches.
But honestly I don't really care about the win ratio because the most important thing is whether or not they are able to compete for the title, the success of football team will only be truly seen and recognized if they succeed in winning the title.
It just that I also agree if there is statement about Ten Hag being bad coach, he failed to bring Manchester United to appear with significant and stable increase in performance, they do not have real consistency from each season.
So far there has always been decline and increase that changes and is really uncontrollable, Ten Hag has made many efforts but in reality he has not been able to prove that what he has done can really bring Manchester United to the top of English or European football.
Now for the Europa League competition I not sure Manchester United can win the title, but I hope they perform well and make the competition interesting.

With the squad that has been successfully built, Ten Hag only needs to put together his ideal squad to face every challenge in every competition that is followed, with adequate rotation options it seems that Ten Hag job this season is a little easier. In addition, Ten Hag must also determine the scale of priorities going forward, adjusting to the targets he wants to achieve, which in my opinion the Europa League trophy is more realistic to pursue than the Premier League trophy. Of course it would be better if Ten Hag was able to bring Manchester United to appear stable in every competition, although we realize that it will not be easy to do.

If we look at the Europa League contestants this season, on paper Manchester United is undoubtedly one of the favorite teams. Indeed, there are several other teams that are also very worthy of being included in the favorite list, but their chances are lower than Manchester United. However, we have seen how the Europa League last season was full of surprises, the same thing might happen again. Apart from all that, Manchester United can be said to be quite lucky to win the FA Cup trophy, thus getting a ticket to the Europa League this season. In addition to the efforts to improve the squad that have been made, playing in the Europa League this season is something that Ten Hag current squad should be grateful for.

And you have to give it to Ajax: they won in the end. They kept calm when things got tough and did what they needed to do when it meant most. Thats what makes winners different from losers. Also, I can say that the Europa League is getting better. Because there are more top teams participating, there is more drama, excitement, and finishes that keep you on the edge of your seat.
Usually the team that concedes in the final minutes, while the goal scored against them makes them lose the victory that they should have achieved quickly, they will be mentally shaken. How could it not be, in their exhaustion they have to lose something that only has a few minutes left. It also makes them more tired because they have to continue the game for more than 90 minutes in normal time. Seeing that I thought maybe Ajax would lose, because logically Panathianaikos had the upper hand after scoring the goal. However, Ajax was able to maintain their mentality well, even though at first it was down, but they were able to recover quickly. Finally they won the match through a very long penalty shootout drama because they had to go through 2 rounds.
