Spain showed their class Cheesy This is what I can say when looking at Spain's performance today. They lost Robbin Le Normand in the first 20 minutes which indirectly changed their momentum where when the attacking pattern that was intertwined at the beginning of the first half was changed to a defensive scheme that was carried out.

But even though they did a defensive scheme, we can see how different the level is even the counterattack that they always do is very effective where from 9 chances that are shot, 8 of them are on target and 4 can be converted into goals.

This is a situation that I didn't expect because even though I felt that Spain would win this match (before the match started) but after the red card they received I didn't think that they would win by a significant score against Switzerland.

It's sad that Switzerland couldn't take advantage of the red card given to Spain and get goals because if it were any other team, I'm sure this opportunity won't pas them by but then this is Spain we're talking about and they have a tactical coach who doesn't take chances so I guess I understand why they couldn't break rgt the barrier
Two losses in two games isn't a record you want to go with if you are in a group that houses the likes of Spain, Denmark and Serbia. All these ones have points to their names and nothing to speak for when it comes to Switzerland and I'm willing to bet my money they'd not even make it out of the group stages.

The useless cup is back  Grin.
Well the nation league has a minor point.
When a team win the nation league but can't qualify to the world cup with the normal group stage it will go to the playoff stage.
Even the second team has a chance.

Since he turned 30 years, Cristiano Ronaldo have now scored more international goals than the all time top scorers of England, Spain, Italy Netherlands, Germany, France and even Brazil. This is unbelievable numbers if you ask me. Cristiano Ronaldo have broken and set many records in football but there some that I think are impossible to break and this one is definitely one of the them. To even think that he's still fit to continue playing for the national team at his age is another reason why Cristiano Ronaldo deserves all the media attentions he's getting at the moment.

I was actually wishing to see Nagelsmann managing a club instead of a national team. Because there is a really nice trend of signing young managers for big clubs these days. However he is really doing great at Germany lately. He has changed the way this team play.  Smiley  It looks like those good old days of Germany is back. The one which has no mercy on their opponents...

Like this Hungary match. I love Nagelsmann football. He likes to dominate every match. I really liked his game against Spain in Euro 2024 also even though they got eliminated.
Right? He'd really kill it but I'm glad he accepted to take over Germany and his positive mentality is rubbing off on the team and it's like there's a new revivial in the camp, those who were not serious before he came seem to have caught on and are doing better. I really love their coordination and cooperation and it will make any opponent always be on their guard so they won't get taken unawares.
I bet you Hungary didn't expect to be punished by the number of goals and somehow they were expecting they could close down the goal deficit when the first one entered and I saw how their captain, Dominik Szoboslai ensured he make the team not lose their confidence but in football, there's just do much one person can do for the team and eventually he got worn out.

It was clear that Spain was going to win, they were the favorites, but Le Normand received an early red card that made me wonder if Switzerland would get a point from this match. This was a very important match for Spain, who also failed to get 3 points in the first match, and they won with four goals. They showed how strong they are, even though they played with one player less, they were the ones who scored the goals. I'm glad that happened because my bet was over 2.5 goals. Grin Switzerland are a really good team, they could have taken something from this match but it didn't happen. This group is very difficult, Denmark are at the top right now.

Switzerland wasn't in their best shape in tonight's game, even with the red card they could not get more than a goal against Spain and it's a shame to even lose by 4 goals to 1. Some teams don't deserve this kind of opportunities that's playing against 10 men, who would have believed that Spain would still be able to get more goals to make it 4?
I don't see Denmark staying at the top for long because they still haven't played against the best in their group which is Spain and when that time comes I expect to see a very serious battle between both teams, it is either Spain get their first loose or the Denmark side lose just as we saw Switzerland losing tonight because the way things are going the Spanish side are not in the mood to drop a single point and they're ready to take advantage of any opportunity they have.

Once again, Luis de la Fuentes proved to us why he is a great coach and Spain are just too much of a force to contend with. You know, I never doubted their ability to win the game especially as they quickly went two goals up in the early period of the game but that red card given Robin Le Normand was something I felt would demoralize them and make them lose focus especially as they were playing against a side who were furious over the fact that they lost two goals to Denmark and also two men to red cards but it wasn't to be because Spain showed class and dominance so that despite the red card situation, they managed to get four goals. A very commendable effort from both the players and the coach.
I admit that the tactics brought by Luis to face Switzerland were indeed extraordinary to add 2 goals in the second half and they only played -1, this shows how solid their formation is even though they lack one player in their defense, Spain in Luis' hands might bring victory again this season.

We know that Switzerland is also not a careless team, they have quite good and solid players, but here we are talking about the quality of strategy and players combined that made Spain win this match perfectly, the next match against Denmark who is undefeated, even beating Serbia who held Spain to a draw in their first match, this will be a great threat if Spain loses, but I think they can win.

Ronaldo did score at the very end of the match and brought Portugal the win. I don't understand what they lacked so much the whole match, they played for a draw, and they lost the first half. They dominated, they struck, they had everything, but they could only win in the second half. For me personally, at the beginning of the game it looked like a clear win for Portugal, but it didn't really turn out that way

This is the Nations League, what are you waiting for? The teams have little motivation to give 100% here, maybe only Ronaldo is maximally motivated because he is young and every game is important to him   Grin
By the way, it's a shame that Felix couldn't take advantage of the one-on-one opportunity - Ronaldo made a blind-heel pass to him and it would have been very beautiful.

Well Portugal played with my nerves, as usual, when I wanted them to lose they lead from the first quarter with 2:0, and when I put one tiny bet on them they screw till the last minute

The junk bet on all favorite this stands, I am really curious if one flops and which

Romania - Lithuania, common, Lithuania, and Romania beat Kosovo without emotions
Italy - Isreal, Italy should trash them but again, Italy likes to mess things up when you expect less
England -Finland, is one of those matches that shouldn't even happen in the first place as England shouldn't even be in that group

And somehow I managed to enjoy betting out of pure hatred for this competition  Cheesy

5-0 I don't deny that it was a big win, but I wasn't too surprised by it, considering that Germany's opponent was a weak team, so of course Germany could easily win. But I agree with you that Germany's game has improved unlike the first half, and honestly in the first half I felt bored watching it, but in the second half Germany increased the intensity of its attacks and it was proven that Hungary could only defend the quick counterattacks they did were also unsuccessful. Germany managed to score 4 goals in that round.
another thing I'm waiting for Germany vs Netherlands both are in the same group and I'm curious about their meeting later.
Actually in this case we also cannot consider that Hungary is weak even though in terms of strength they are far below Germany but they are a national team that is sometimes full of surprises even in the previous few years if I am not mistaken Hungary has always troubled Germany, it's just that in these 2 seasons it seems that Hungary has again gained momentum that is not very good and the peak was yesterday because we can see that they are helpless to face the strength of Germany which is quite superior.

Nagelsmann's youngsters have many advantages where their age and experience are much better even though they are still quite young so this makes Germany very strong because their midfield is really extraordinary.
Right now I think if Germany had a really good targetman in the squad then they would be unstoppable because looking at what happened the problem in Germany is just the lack of a good finisher for their targetman but fortunately their attacking midfielders have good goal instincts which makes them not look bad in the targetman they have.

Better days are close
September 08, 2024, 05:10:15 PM
I think one of the best matches of the day will be Portugal vs Scotland. Portugal are in the 1st group of the UEFA Nations A League. They beat Croatia 2-1 in their first match. They dominated that match. They won the game with goals from Dalot and Ronaldo. On the other hand, Scotland lost to Poland in their first match. They played a good game against Poland. But they lost with a last minute goal. I think it will be a competitive match with a high level of excitement. Portugal are the favorites for this match. But I avoid betting on sides in matches like this one. Because Scotland will not be a weak opponent for Portugal tonight. I think betting on both teams to score is a better option and safer.
It was indeed an interesting match to watch it wasn't easy for Portugal as it seems though they missed some good chance in the first half of the game as McTominay scored a fantastic goal to put Scotland ahead of Portugal in the first half  despite the first half result Portugal was still favorite to win the game as they missed some good chance in the first half.
It was an entertaining match as Fernandes B came with an equalizer to make it 1-1 draw at the 54th minute of be game before Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal a late win by scoring in the 88 minute of the game.

the Portugal coach isn't putting Cristiano Ronaldo in at the start of the game, I'm now looking at the players who will start and Cristiano Ronaldo isn't there:
The first half was not good for Portugal. Although they played aggressively and managed to create many chances. They have not scored a goal to equalize. Scotland managed to lead temporarily 0-1 through Mc Tominay's goal in the 7th minute. I am sure Ronaldo will be brought in in the second half and try to win the match. There were 16 shots made by Portugal in the first half, but it did not result in a goal. And bringing in Ronaldo might create new hope. I also bet on Portugal, if they lose I will lose the win from the other match.

Yeah you're right, there are only a few minutes left in the match and the current score is 1-1 Scotland were lucky to get a point as almost everyone predicted Portugal would win and Portugal played aggressively since the first half but Scotland managed to score the first goal in the 7th minute. In another match Poland was 1 goal behind after Modric scored in the second half and Croatia continued to dominate until the last  minutes, based on statistics Croatia should have scored 2 goals or more.

Spain also managed to secure 3 points with a big win, Spain has been on fire since the first half with 2 goals and in the 20th minute Spain had to play with 10 players after the red card incident but it didn't have any impact on them even Spain was able to score 2 more goals in the second half and ended the match with 4-1  In the previous match, Spain only drew against Serbia without a goal but in today's match Spain was very aggressive.

UEFA Nations League is another useless competition that only contributes to injuries and harms teams. With so many games, players will be exhausted and consequently teams will have a poor performance which makes predicting the results of games more difficult.
Many players have complained about it, but their complaint has fallen on deaf ears, and just as Kevin de Bruyne said, it is obvious that there are many money individuals behind it. That is why UEFA and FIFA have not cared to pay attention to the complaints of the players. Some clubs will suffer most because their players will be lacking rest due to the tight football schedule. Arsenal was almost a victim with Caliofori's injury scare, but luckily it was not serious.

The score in Portugal against Scotland is 2-1, Ronaldo with the second goal that will give Portugal the victory here, his 901th career goal.

Germany have really improved under Julian Nagelsmann and it's a welcome one because if you had followed the game yesterday you'd think that Hungary will get a goal after making positive attempts on goals at the get go and I was further convinced they will find it hard since throughout the first half they were only able to get a goal but I guess second half was something no one saw coming! This is the second time they've being able to get five goals against an opponent in quick succession, their most recent being at the Euros against Scotland.
A positive way to begin the tournament and this results will make it hard for the other teams in their group to live up to.
Nagelsmann is definitely a great manager, he was doing fine at Bayern too, no idea why they felt like they had to fire him. I think it's clear that Germany will do fine with him, and they are going to get good results.

Obviously Hungary wasn't a big tough opponent for Germany, so winning isn't really that shocking, but they were expected to just win, a score of five against nil makes it a domination and that should tell people something. They may not be the best team in the world right now, but they have a potential to disrupt some of the best, and with world cup coming next, and qualifiers, I think they are going to be good enough to actually be better this time and not be humiliated at the group stages. Will they win it? I doubt it, but they will be better.

Perhaps the Portugal coach is very confident that he will be able to win with relative ease, as Scotland lost in the game against Poland in a game in which they conceded 3 goals. But underestimating the opponent too much is not a good thing, or maybe the Portugal coach has already started to prepare in case Ronaldo starts not playing very well due to his age. In any case, Portugal is the favorite to win the game and the value of the odds is very low. Some coaches are choosing to release good players to avoid injuries, this shows how they do not take this competition seriously.

Switzerland - Spain

Dani Olmo returns to Barcelona, as he’s not included in the squad for today’s game against Switzerland.

No serious injury but Spain staff decided not to take any risk.

The match between Portugal and Scotland could be an exciting one. Portugal boasts a stronger squad and more experience on the international stage, which could give them an edge. However, Scotland is a team that will fight until the end, and I believe they can create difficulties for the Portuguese side. I expect a tight game with both teams having chances to score. My prediction is that Portugal will secure a narrow win, perhaps 2-1, and the match will be high-scoring, with a total of over 2 goals.
