Turkey would have an easily gone to League A if they had defeated Montenegro today but now it's a much competitive path ahead.
The group stage of UEFA Nations League A and B has now been completed.
The teams that qualified for the quarter finals are Portugal, France, Germany and Spain as group leaders and Croatia, Italy, Netherlands and Denmark through second place. These 8 teams could be considered the top teams in Europe at the moment.
On League B, Czech Republic, England, Norway and Wales were the group leaders and got back their position on league A for next year. The third teams from League A, Scotland, Serbia, Hungary and Belgium would play the playoffs with 2nd placed teams in league B Greece, Austria, Turkey and Ukraine for a 2nd chance to remain in the top League.

Yesterday we saw match between Montenegro national football team and Türkiye national football team. That was totally one sided match because Montenegro football team played very well in this match and their players looked in good body language and they gave their hundred percent to win this match. Krstović did 3 goals in this match and he was the top performer of that match . He did his first goal at 29 minutes and gave good start to his team and applied pressure on opponent team and after his goal opponent team did struggle to do next goal and after that we goal of Yıldız and he did at 37 minutes.  And after that score was level and audience imagined that score could be draw but after that we saw change in the match and Krstović next goal at 45 minutes and he kept his team ahead in this match.

I just found this incredible pic

Source: Cristiano Ronaldo

To be 39 years old and score a goal like that, who is going to say that he is not the GOAT? It is something impossible, for me the things that have to do with football games and CR7 with his goal number 210 that he scored in a spectacular way made many Portuguese people cry, that is something to be admired.

With all that spectacle, it is worth going for Portugal, right? Honestly, for me CR7 is the best in the world, many may say no, but he is the only player at that age who has gone to a very competitive league and who is rising in level, for now Portugal is my favorite. Among other things, I was surprised that they tied against Croatia, but hey, that's football.

Croatia's draw with Portugal squad B at home is very disappointing to their supporters, even though a point is a point. Even though the bookies offered Croatia a high chance to win the match, I was sure they would since Roberto Martínez would not use his usual starting lineup.
But it is true, the problem is that Portugal mostly uses the second line, maybe this is what makes the fans quite disappointed with the results. and even almost left behind or almost lost, fortunately there was a goal from Gvardiol in the 5th minute which became an savior for them. Well, indeed, Croatia actually has a lot of good talents, however, they often cannot be as effective as that in their game.

Source: UEFA Nations League quarterfinal seedings

In my opinion, it was a fair result for Croatia, at least with the draw, they are ranked 2nd in the League A Group 1 phase. While in the previous match, Croatia lost to Portugal, and this time won. Portugal did not field all of its main squad in this last game, whatever the result, the Portugal National Team has become the top standing in the group. while Croatia at that time fought to be able to compete for the 2nd position. and in the end, they managed to hold a draw, that was good enough, after previously they were behind 1-0 first from Portugal.

While we could have finished our group being the leader easily we just made things more difficult for ourselves. Sad That performance against Montenegro was terrible. They didn't have any points and they scored only 1 goal before this match. We lost to them by 3-1. The pitch was in very poor condition of course. However we must have still played better than this. Now we have to perform in the playoffs stage to promote to League A.

Wales really took the advantage on the very last game, they got lucky with Turkey losing, because if Turkey won, then even Wales winning would mean nothing. But the lucky part was about the Turkish game, about the Wales their own game, they weren't lucky, they truly dominated and played a great game, Iceland had no chance at all and Wales ended up getting a great win there without a doubt.

I believe the best we could do about this was betting on both Wales and Turkey to win, which is what I did and unfortunately that wasn't really the case here, we didn't see Turkey win and I lost my bet because of that. These do happen time to time and we shouldn't really focus on it too much, there isn't really anything that we could do about this that would change anymore, so I am looking forward to the future games instead.

Yesterday's games cost me quite a lot money. Like Netherlands or Germany failing to win against Bosnia and Hungary, or Turkey loss against Montenegro. But such things happens when game eans nothing for both teams.
International break is over and good news that there is plenty of time until the next one which planned in the middle of March 2025.

Certainly an odd choice to pick out the many games that are available to watch, I mean what made me even notice this game was the fact that one of the teams actually made history as they recorded a win because I can swear I have never seen san Marino win a game before and plus the fact that they even scored three goals is something extraordinary for me 😃😱
Yeah, odd choice. Initially I only planned to follow it on 2nd screen, but it was so difficult to watch how my national is playing that I paid most of my attention to this game.

With the way Turkey lost to Montenegro, I am not really blaming them as the guilty part there, have you seen the field? The pitch was the worst one I have ever seen and if I was UEFA then I would probably not really let the game continue when I saw that pitch.
This issue of saying the opponents had a bad day because of the pitch is a lame excuse...of course a certain standard has to be set by UEFA/FIFA but one thing we ignore is that both team's are on that same field...and some players from the host nation play for clubs that have top notch facilities and I don't think they too love these conditions either...late them work with what they have.

Croatia's draw with Portugal squad B at home is very disappointing to their supporters, even though a point is a point. Even though the bookies offered Croatia a high chance to win the match, I was sure they would since Roberto Martínez would not use his usual starting lineup.
Tbh I was happy with the result as I was rooting for Portugal to win this one even with their team "B" and that early goal would have seen them win this game  but being at home it was going to be easy, which saw the Croatias pickup the scraps and salvage a point...besides these results do happen, it's about who wants it more and Portugal showed that.

I had predicted earlier in the previous page or two that Germany vs Hungary game had the possibility of a draw and it eventually happened.
Blessed are those who bet on a draw in this match. Indeed, it is quite unreasonable if Germany does not win against Hungary. But here, they did not field the entire first tier national team, and also, whatever the result, Germany is certain to qualify as the top standing in their group, so it does not matter.
Saddly i was thinking that in the game between Germany against Hungary that Germany will win this game , but with nearly the whole team changed it was a good draw.
The playing wasnt the best from both teams and they all got a few chances to score and i dont want to complain but the penalty was a bit questionable in my eyes.
But a draw is better as lose so i was happy with that , guess if Germany has played with there main squad they would be won that game.

The match between Montenegro and Turkey is now 2-1. Turkey conceded two wrong goals.
For the 2nd goal Mert Günok made a mistake, he should have saved that goal.
The pitch is very bad, I don't understand how you can play ball on this pitch.

Without the pitch being bad let's tell ourselves the truth about the Turkey side, they are not good and they haven't been impressive at all. They hardly get a convincing win and I was surprised when the first ended 2-1 with Montenegro leading I just knew that Turkey can never come back even as they try to get an equalizer. Some how I prefer Wales to the Turkey side, they're are a bit better with the way they played tonight I saw a team that's growing but Turkey have a long way to go before they could be seen as a competitive team.

I agree with what you said, they definitely did not play well.
We have a lot of young talented players but they are not used correctly unfortunately. They will continue to play like this as long as Montella is there. Montella should definitely go and a Turkish coach should come in his place.
Sergen Yalçın may achieve great success in this team.
Montella is a coach who is constantly criticized for his squad choices. There could be better squad choices in the Turkish national team. There is no forward player in the tactic Montella is currently playing. We see Semih Kılıçsoy, he brought excitement to the team after he entered the game. In my opinion, he could have been preferred as a forward. The players we have are very talented, but we are in a weak position in terms of the technical director. In my opinion, Montella should be dismissed from the team and an alternative technical director should come in his place. In my opinion, Sergen Yalçın could be a good technical director or İsmail Kartal could manage the national team well in the same way.

It's paradoxical, but true, despite the fact that the League of Nations is a useless and trash tournament, the composition of the playoffs inspires respect and interest. Plus, let's not forget that such teams as England and Belgium were unable to get into the playoffs. If you compare it with the Mickey Mouse tournament (America's Cup), where such pairs as Venezuela and Canada play in the quarterfinals, the League of Nations looks like a much more solid tournament.
Maybe the League of Nations should be merged with all the federations? It would bring some freshness to the tournament (and give the American teams a chance to prove themselves).

The pitch was the worst one I have ever seen and if I was UEFA then I would probably not really let the game continue when I saw that pitch. These players play about 60 to even 70 games at maximum, between league, cup, UEFA organizations and now the national teams as well, we are seeing teams have terrible amount of games and players fear injury risk and Turkish players didn't want to get injured so they didn't play the way they normally do.

Normally they would press a lot more, that is their tactic, but pressing on this pitch would have surely guaranteed injury to someone and they didn't want that at all, it was a shameful thing to see a game at this level to be played on such a stadium. It's fine for them, they will be at playoffs and maybe they will go up, and if not, they have a good generation on their hands so they will do it some other time.

I have seen that game in the review and i agree that Croatia has not played there best game against Portugal , but Portugal is very good at the moment.
I mean they got a few chances but they missed score and about Kramaric he also plays not well in his club.

Croatia's draw with Portugal squad B at home is very disappointing to their supporters, even though a point is a point. Even though the bookies offered Croatia a high chance to win the match, I was sure they would since Roberto Martínez would not use his usual starting lineup. But seeing their dominance throughout the game, it is clear that Portugal has the best players in the world right now, whether the first squad or not. Zlatko Dalić was unable to substitute Kramaric in the second half due to his poor performance, as he had wasted multiple chances in the first half.

The match between Montenegro and Turkey is now 2-1. Turkey conceded two wrong goals.
For the 2nd goal Mert Günok made a mistake, he should have saved that goal.
The pitch is very bad, I don't understand how you can play ball on this pitch.

I don't know the reason Turkey should play against Montenegro so badly when they are aware that a defeat could cause them to drop out of the top spot. Turkey lost the entire point to Montenegro, who had not won a single game in the group stage, after conceding another goal in the seventy three minutes of play. Turkey managed to score one goal despite dominating the game and all of the shots, but they lost.

Croatia are going through a generational change and are unlikely to be as consistently good as in previous years, but that doesn't mean they don't live up to the rating. And overall, this rating is complete nonsense - remind me how many titles (or at least achievements) Belgium has won? And they were in first place for quite a long time.

Belgium is another story thanks for bringing it up. IIRC you are right, maybe not just #1 but top 3 in FIFA ranking at one time for years and years... and yes I think they had a cool team but you don't care about anything if you win titles.

On the other hand you have some cool teams in 50+ places that for sure always lose badly to top 10 teams but they play amazing football given conditions. USA team is shit, and Scotland to me is much better but they are always way below them. Why because US plays shit teams like Honduras and Puerto Rico while Scotland has to always meet the top 20 teams.

Which is to me why FIFA ranking needs either to change or to be ignored.

Kramaric may have good statistics from the past, but he is definitely the worst striker you can put in a strike team right now.
He scored 5 goals in 9 games this season in Bundesliga, while often playing behind the main strikers.

We can now argue that Budimir is also not a top striker, but for me he is still much more dangerous when he finds himself in a chance to score.
That's the thing, there is a place on our team for both Kramaric and Budimir (or whoever else is playing instead of him) with the latter being more upfront. Unfortunately, Budimir is not as prolific in Croatia as he is in Osasuna, as he scored only 3 goals in 28 games (to be fair, in many of those he entered towards the end) for our national team.

Matanovic is still new to the team and should be given a chance, while on the other hand some new players like Kulenovic, who is obviously playing in top form in NK Dinamo this season, should also be given a chance.
Matanovic should first prove that he can score in his club on the regular basis before getting into starting 11, but since Dalic completely lost his compass, we have the curent situation. For Kulenovic I agree, he should have been invited and given the chance over Matanovic.

and I wonder how anyone can keep Kramaric in the team considering he kicks the ball like a 5-year-old...?
Have you seen our other forwards? Budimir couldn't score from 2 meters and Matanovic is shooting mindlesly from all positions and needs like 20 chances to score 1 goal. For them, Kramaric is Davor Suker. By the way, Kramaric scored ~250 goals (club and national team combined) in his professional career, making him our most prolific scorer ever after beforementioned Suker.

Kramaric may have good statistics from the past, but he is definitely the worst striker you can put in a strike team right now. We can now argue that Budimir is also not a top striker, but for me he is still much more dangerous when he finds himself in a chance to score. Matanovic is still new to the team and should be given a chance, while on the other hand some new players like Kulenovic, who is obviously playing in top form in NK Dinamo this season, should also be given a chance.

As for coach Dalic, he has a contract for 2 years and the goal is to take Croatia to the World Cup - the League of Nations was less important to them anyway, but they managed to reach the next stage of the competition - the only thing waiting for them there is Spain, Germany or France with which will be very difficult to play.
Unfortunately, even if by some miracle we don't go to WC, they wouldn't sack him. He would maybe get sacked if we miss 2 competitions in a row.

I'm pretty sure that he would get fired then because you can't possibly present that as a success and the achievement of a goal. The public pressure would simply be too much to keep him just for old glory. There is no doubt that he did great things for the national team, but he should have left when he reached his peak - or at least after the failure at the European Championship - and there was a lot of speculation in the media about this, given that he stated that he was tired of everything.

Still, if I had to choose between Dalic and Slaven Bilic, who is mentioned as a possible successor - I would choose the former, because the latter has shown his "quality" to such an extent that he can no longer train camels in the desert without getting fired.

And now, we have found the top standing in each group.
The thing is that Germany isn't like Spain who derive pleasure in winning even though it won't really affect anything because more than half of their first eleven started and even Jamal Musiala was later brought on as a sub but they just decided to do Hungary a favor , it's like paying them for all their trouble in the game as they showed no relenting in their attack of Germany. Big ups to Julian Nagelsmann for how well he transformed Germany, restoring their old confidence back.

I had bet on Germany to win this match. But the match was a draw. I thought I would see a better performance from Germany. But Germany could not perform as well as I expected.

Hungary's players did a lot of attacking in this match. However, Hungary scored their only goal in extra time after 90 minutes. Hungary scored the goal from a penalty in the very last minute and drew the match. Despite Hungary being a weaker team compared to Germany, the performance of Hungary's players in this match is definitely commendable. Hungary deserves points from this match.

It doesn't matter if Montella stays or not, the major thing is what you said, the players are not used the way they are suppose to and a new manager might come and do the same thing who knows? They don't bring that energy of always getting all 3pt in any game they play. These guys prefers to settle for a draw and last night I was thinking they (Turkey) was going to come back and level the game to be 2-2 but the remaining time that was left the home team made it 3-1. To me these guys will find it hard to change their playing pattern.

The Iceland team's early attacks were very difficult and they achieved success, but later on their organized play became sloppy. Iceland's players, however, after a long period of performance, were very weak towards the end, and Wales immediately took advantage of the counterattacking team.
And on this occasion they managed to score 4 goals in a row, taking their total attack count to 16 in the whole match and the opposite team attacking Iceland only 10. Liam Cullen He scored two goals with his leg magic but he missed enough chances to complete the hat trick. Still congrats to wales team as they are doing very well in this match and are very hard working players.

I expected Wales to level the score, but I didn't think Iceland would play so badly in defense after they managed to open the scoring in the first minutes. Ukraine also won a very important match, they managed to score two quick goals and Albania only managed to score one goal in the second half, but it was enough for Ukraine to win, also thanks to the fact that the Czech Republic beat Georgia, Ukraine was able to take second place.
